Mag’s are always fighting server. I know they would rather be up dumping on kitten servers and getting under our skin… noting the NA team roflstomped all our NA teams and we’re nothing but night cappers. kidding, they are good folks and battle hardened.

In all honesty, they likely want to GvG against guilds in t1/t2 … its about it in a nutshell.

Logging into WvW and seeing your server owns everything and the opponent is out pve’ing this week… is not fun. It’s like a thursday night from sunday——>thursday.

That’s a good start. Changes the farming from 1000 every 5 minutes to 300 every 5 minutes.

Back on topic, DE still plays, this tourney occured with teams who registered and played. They won, grats to them.

That’s way too low. Think RNG of a precursor let alone the 600G you’ll spend on mats.

Try to multiply that by about 1 years worth of those. So max karma, plus max badges, plus what 1000 rank wxp, higher… maybe 2000? i know we have some 450 ranks, and wxp only been out a few months.

I personally find it hilarious SBI is even in consideration for the 6th spot. They haven’t even faced a server in the top 10 since february. They still have over 100 points to even break even with Mag/SoS, they would need some absolutely astronomical luck to even get there

They roll TC and DB next week they’ll be right up there with us, so it’s not that absurd atm.

I hope they do gain points so it increases the likelihood of a match between the 3 of us in the final week before leagues (I can dream).

This unfortunately won’t happen unless next week TC takes off to do TA & farm Teq weapons. Just saying, although i do like the sunless skins.

Don’t forget … if you on voice comms and your friends who queue after you, and get in before (should laugh, but…) not my point. You may need to re log. We’ve had people queue, get blocked for a long time. Only to have others come and pop in in minutes.

Good thing TC has 0 queues in general, or a minimal 5 min wait for EBG

Tich is saying he is one of the few guilds left who play this style actively but agree there is not as much, but does not like / assumptions and players who have little ground to talk on.

Moto is saying… pvp dying decrypter refrers to the time where we all loved the esports guild wars brought, but no longer the case. No all or most good teams left for other games. True statement.

So both agree it is not large in numbers, but one says don’t talk the talk if you don’t feel like walking the walk… meanwhile other says … everyone who walks the walk, already walked away.

But if you think 15v15 or 20v20 in an area the size of a tennis court involves any strategy (not skill, strategy) then your mistaken. You may as well host GvG’s in Hill’s Lord’s rooms, at least spectators could sit and watch from above like a real gladiator arena. Or that Bloodlust node. It’s the same style of ‘smashing into eachother’ … or ‘dropping the bomb’ … joke.

Hopefully Anet will eventually get to adding something where it will require people to think, and move. Strike and Counter strike.

I dont think you have ever done a GvG or were party of a true open field 15v15 battle during a WvW match. There is tons of strategy which is based on player skill. GW1 was purely player skill for GvG. Could you react fast enough to catch the spike and heal it or can you time your spikes well enough to happen at the same time as everyone else. That was far more important then positioning, timing attacks, ect.

GW2 GvG requires less individual skill as your being covered by your team mates but requires and extreme amount of strategic positioning and timing of attacks and cool downs so that you can get 1 or 2 people down and not lose anyone.

Both forms require skill and strategy, just in very different ways. Yes it looks like a zerg hitting another zerg. Thats based on GW2’s ridiculous animations so everything looks like a spam fest (even 1v1’s in sPvP look like button mashing due to the high amount of animation). In reality there is a lot going on in the background.

GW1 had map otpions to split, or not, spike or balanced, and do multitude of things that could impact the outcome. Hell, a good flag runner could make a difference. Tell me know … at the windmill, how exactly is the current GvG form anything close? When you can see all 30-40 people within your radar? Maps made a huge difference, … would you ever consider splitting your GvG team into 2 teams to push an enemy in its current form? No … why is that ?

Because splitting numbers has negative outcomes in gvg’s current state.

PS… I did say it involves skill in my OP fyi – just not strategy. Running right or left, to the trees or to the hill like a 6 year old soccer game is not strategy, condi flipping because your running through red circles is not strat, its common sense.

personally I do not consider 15 a mini zerg. 30 would be a mini zerg and 40+ would be a zerg.

Most GvG guilds where and are ’Zerg Busting guilds" we normally run with 10-20 each night. this was made as a way to test out zerg busting skills on other guild that do the same to see who was better. (well at least this is how [GF] started out)

also to say this takes little skill/strategy is also not true.
it takes reaction time, battle awareness, and knowledge of what each class is capable of doing and their CD. if it required no skill or strategy any group of 15 can come in and 7-0 [GF][Agg][NS][EP]

Yes, I get it, but strategy is not involved in apm, button mashing. And Map awareness is not equal watching out for red circles. You know what I mean when I speak of strategy. Don’t try to inflate smashing headstrong into each other some means of tactics. (breaking targeting, and straffing again is not strategy.. it is skill)

I understand peoples frustration in regards to the GvG/WvW subject but that’s no excuse for this public lynching of a single unrelated person. Secondly to those people who keep demanding GvG. What do you expect them to do? Magically pull a whole new game mode out of thin air?

GvG is done by a minority of players. Anet is a business. If they do decide to implement GvG it would be out of love for their playerbase as they certainly wouldn’t make money out of it and if anything loose money as they’d have to pay a team to build it. Such a process would take a long time that is if they even will.

Here’s a simple solution for Anet to ‘make’ money via GvG … open up the game mode, and … wait for it…

Charge gems for changing your guild hall, and … wait for it …

… charge gems to have a cape/sPvP guild logo robes whatever you want.

Charge gems for aesthetics. Just like they do with PvE fluff

PS. you can’t tell me they would not make money, and there are no ‘ideas’ or that i’m the first to come up with this stuff. It’s been discussed to death, there are avenues and it is desired. We may be the minority, but the majority already have fat belly’s full of attention.

I’d just like to make a note of one thing that I think people aren’t considering when they transfer to stacked worlds. You will not, repeat will not, be able to receive the reward based on overall world place in the league, unless you achieve the meta achievement for the season. If you aren’t able to get into WvW much, you won’t get the rewards. So it is absolutely taking a risk to transfer to a world that has a large WvW population.

Likewise, servers without a shot in hell of beating a stacked server once…. will not , I repeat will not, have a shot of getting the golden dolyak even if they complete the meta achievements? or am I missing something there?

BG welcomes Waha and his ATM guild with open arms, respects and understand the pressure he’s been put under by JQ server with very little support.

If anything this week has shown us, the few ATM left fighting at the very least have continually fought us hard (it seems almost 24 hours a day), most of the time without Waha and most of the time severely under supported.

Come to us bro, you’ll get the support you need here and the players to back you up.
Man, JQ lost a 10k lead over BG in one night this week and let BG build a 15k lead on that very same night, in NA prime !
BG are now 30k up at the end of the week.
Leave that mess dude, come on over to BG where you’ll be properly appreciated and have support from multiple commanders in every BL and EB.

…and unlike JQ, nobody on BG will be bad mouthing you behind your back on TeamSpeak just because you wanted to take a break after they lost so much of a lead in one single night.

Who wants to stay up late tonight and give us guild group fights? Tired of fighting 80 man timid blobs. Although, it is fun when we catch you off guard inside a tower or something. Tried to get a fight at a tower last night but you all just left and never came back =/ although I guess “Avoiding the enemy” is a legitimate PPT strategy. It’s actually quite a compliment when mag’s comes to the thread… and laughs genuinely. No trolling at all.

Don’t get me wrong, Chuu had his reasons, he’s tired of TC. We enjoyed when he was here though, but have many others commanding always. TC full of RPers to fill the boots, and I’m sure we can find someone who wants to role play a WXP conductor.

This week has been hilariously fun though, both in game and to my surprise… this forum is just great entertainment at work.

Blast your water fields in the thick of things, they chill/damage foes too. I get plenty of bags. Then again, we’re talking fighting against JQ/BG/FA or Mag zergs. So there’s plenty of targets who get hit.

Problem with providing heals – wxp is … a little option called autoheal that bots have previosuly exploited. Just not going to happen. You could say the same for boons. I mean guardians, warriors and ele’s should all get wxp for boon buffs. Game was designed against healing class so to speak, so why would anyone consider rewarding it (call it what you will / support water ele, you know were saying healer)? Never heard of my lead or commander request me to lay down a chill, or frozen field ever.

PS not going to mis adding guardian or engi into the healer roles, there’s considerable strong healers there too.

Tired of the mesmer of blackgate (WC/Rogues on EB) who have amazing new skills / elites only available to them. Still in awe how you do that wall trick. It’s pretty nifty and no one can replicate it. Ohh and shout out to the thief from [soon] finally saw you again miraculously never seen anyone able to comeclose to the amount of invis/speed skills you have. You should try out for the Olympics, I don’t even think Ben Johnson, or Carl Lewis could run the oval in your time.

Aside from those 2 individuals – the rest of the server I’ve enjoyed the Havok fights with, legit. Serious, its alot of fun. Not playing for score, but having a great time with the small scale battles when they come late nights. And ya, I’m going to call out a chump 100% of the time. Not labelling a server as you can tell.

Also props on EB reset night to the BG commanders Zoda my ol friend, and whomever else was there. Was a slice.

Your right, any time I see a condition build go down on teq, i’ll leave him there. Teq would appreciate it. The server would appreciate it as our dps isn’t being hindered by attempts to continuously res the clothy, and sounds like Anet would appreciate it.

Conditions are OP in pvp presently still, but pve not so much? How many here can say they melted before … come on don’t be shy – thats not from direct damage – we can all dodge roll outta the FA hammer train. But the conditions – good god.

I have a question for those that play condi builds … why is teq your only target? If a hammer = invulnerable to a target – why would he still swing it? Definition of insanity – doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. Necros have many other skills, and everyone can pick up elemental weapons. 25 stacks are cap – how do we make this different with 120 players hitting a boss?

By now the “this is impossible” faction is really reaching for straws and arguing technicalities. I’ts pointless to discuss anymore after it has come to that, they will just always construct an example where a fight failed and claim to be right based on that.

The dragon was slain within a day of the patch, and now a few days later slain on several servers, on the overflow, several times by the same servers (Piken Square is up to 3 now I think, unless I missed one today).

The most reaching argument is the TS one. We have 2013. If you pick 100 MMO players, many will have VoIP available. I’m sure at the kills I attended some were using it. I was using it on one kill and not using it on the other. I’m know many others werent either.

And plus 1 on the voice comms, sorry but this is 2013 … we all use voice comms, evn us older gamers (like 40+) with our wives and children, hell we got some retired guys in our voice comms. It’s a basic standard in mmo’s … not required, but by design the modern mmo does consider it in every design aspect.

Whispering dead people will solve the issue so the player knows how to deal with it next time, but first time through it hurts the game/dps of the match as you have to whisper the dude and type versus dps.

In the grand scheme of things I guess it isn’t that hard. I mean it was beaten on the first day. If I remember correctly, weeks go by before the new hardmode raids in WoW are first beaten.

If teq is a 15 minute timer, I would suggest 5 minutes.

Anything higher than that wastes hundreds of players time, every hour. You make the fight worth it in words, then you should have people who care to play available.

If someone goes afk to take dog for walk, go take shower or do homework, they are not playing the game. They should be put to the back of the bus.

To put it in context, I do not get paid from my job – with out putting in work. I earn my spot on the rooster of a sports team. If I want to succeed I will try, but letting afk’ers go hit a boss once or twice, then autoheal or go afk (hurts many players experience).

While I am sympathetic that people have real life issues to deal with while playing, that’s not a real valid excuse for them to inconvenient/burden others on a map requiring teamwork to get an event done. I may have a bad day at the office, but I don’t road rage on the way home. As for 10 mins, have 20 ppl afk for 10 mins could affect the outcome, so 10 mins may be too long still.

IRL issues are not an excuse, I fully agree. We are playing a game. Not jumping online and going shopping, have to take a dump, or run to store to buy something. Walk the dog, bake cake … those are all things you do *when you are not playing a virtual game, and are IRL.

Res yourself and run back, I have only been downed once in Teq battles. Pay more attention to whats going on around you and you will have no issue with this battle. It’s really not hard. Watch out for red circles, watch out for poison, avoid bloated exposions, and watch his fingers(tenticles that come from ground. Outside of that dodge through the waves.

2. Player Interaction

Not sure where you play, or how this interaction is initiated, but on TC, we map chat share, food buffs, talk strategy together, test things, and share potions with each other. All to help. Your choice where and who you play with.

3. Timers and Persistance

This is good. Finally something that requires people to attempt to try. Facing adversity, and when you overcome adversity … is one of the most rewarding feelings. This truly feels epic and like you helped (even if your only 1 person), helped make that possible. If its doable 9/10 times then guess what … you won’t feel so good about it. I hear world of warcraft offers mindless 1,2,3 raid bosses if that’s what your preference is. But they also run on timers. Every modern raid boss does

When 100 people needs to do it, it’s complicated.

I did it yesterday, and we got a full overflow that was able to kill it. Servers have bene helping each other and Guilds are being made to organized kills in different places.
The system is there and it’s not complicated to use as long as you have people willing to do it.

PS. this helping has no bearing on wvw or spvp – if your red your dead.

TC overflow beat it once without comms. But the turrets were experienced players who had won before.

Any time you have new players on fresh runs, they will have issues until the ‘get it’

I still see a lot who refuse to release and run back. It’s such a joke if people think we can actually rez you. People need to do a stronger job of keeping themselves alive. So lazy or slow sometimes.

Staff 1,1,1,1,1 shroud 1,1,1,1,1 … or … pick up elemental weapon like ice bow and 4, drop elemental weapon … lay heal fields.

What do you expect with a diverse age range and maturity range in a competative nature? You think everyone is an eckert fan (let alone read and live without attachments or ego). This is a video game, and ego is superior. You will have ‘x’ guild bashing ‘y’ guild. It’s not all rainbows and unicorns in the scary world of reality. People are dark, and hide behind there keyboards or mics knocking others all the time.

Hell I was most disappointed at one of my server mates for publicly knocking devs with no real basis. Nor any real fact, just for the hell of it. At least the rest of the server reigned him in.
