So some guy posts rumors or speculation … and we on kain chose not to post the private matters, and forums explode with whats ifs and WM moving … I guess I need popcorn then. Sometimes … the nature of humans (especially conspiracy theories) is very interesting to see.

Truth of the matter, we only lost a bit of NA presence folks. And with no queues … I’m sure we’ll fill it back up very soon.

So long as the forum remains within well mannered , I wouldn’t be oppose to sharing the love with FA … but when it gets a little much, then I’m not very supportive of it. You guys have come a long way in that regard, and in the event it’s been missed… I’m pretty sure both us (kain) and TC are seeing it.

Consistency speaks volumes though, I won’t label anyone for one offs, but I will commend those with a consistent good nature & respect for their own and opponent alike.

Whoa, you guys are awesome, see ^^^ and I did that to the TC thread 2 weeks ago. Now you guys come back in force. Much appreciated folks. T2 is hands down the most enjoyable tier. And Kain has plenty of fun, and always happy to have more WvW.

Rumors are rumors, and everyone deserve a break. Everyone who puts in there entire days WvW’ing regardless of tag or server can take it back a notch at times. Others will step in and do what they, what we’ve learned in past over the many months and lead. Kain is full of great WvW players … and it’s in our leadership we respect and trust, and our people who pick up when another may not be around.

Appreciate the genuine gestures, and see you guys all on the battlefield tonight.

And I was obviously joking about HB. But I’m pretty sure that was clear. Just wanted to set the record straight in writing.

Okay, so … Kain is fine. Nothing out of norm, work hard fight and play hard. We were second to BG like 4 weeks straight.

You act like this is a first for Kaineng, especially the FA guys last page (TC should know better)? Come now, play with us, and we will play back. We’re fine. Sometimes little frustrated at times, but we all go through that at times.

I give many props to all our guilds who have been tirelessly contributing to WvW, and our commanders. You guys know who you are, and time to spread the load a bit. Others need to step up, and make better use of our resources. In a way that even if it feels like TC > FA > TC and no break to change it to what we want to do cause defending back and forth… use the resources we have to change the game. Don’t play into what the opponent wants. And … been said many times … do not be predictable in movements.

Kain is no different than any other server, with the exception we can’t queue all 4 maps, and we have less than 10 minute queue on the maps we manage to queue.

Battle hard Kain, we have much work still to do. And for the love of god, we gotta start considering the ppt game more than the open field game (both are good, but we need to change the game) So much pride comes from winning a clash, but in the end, we are only behind at the moment because we need to push harder on the ppt. I logged in last night and “watched” … for 15-20 minutes roughly the 4 maps and flipping colors … well tbh it looked more like 2 and not much flipping colors, looked more defensive than anything else, which just leads to fair weathers leaving, out manned showing and more leaving, and soon TC and FA licking their lips at easy prey. I really think we need to push faster around all maps. Use the fact we are not queued to an advantage. TC did it for many weeks straight with BG and us.

Well everyone, with SAB out and done, the fun little sidecapades I’ve gotten to do, the good people who add such value to the t2 community… it was indeed a great week.

I want to thank both opponents, TC and FA for the fun and enjoyable battles. TC you guys had a goal, and reached for it. I respect that, we could see it all week. It didn’t change our gameplan, we’re having a good time, and tbh I wanted to see just how hard you guys could push. You all should feel proud, and know the work put in reflected well on the battlefield. Many times I saw (SM in particular last night) both FA and TC charging in through that one hole to see who could take advantage during opportune moments. Good play, and was handily nice to have such battles.

FA, you’ve grown respectfully over time both in manner and it was pleasant to see the numbers posted on the slow grind on SM. You never gave up, and the strikes worked out well along the course of the evening. We felt like firefighters running back and forth last night.

KN, we have a fun week ahead. Pretty sure we all know this. And it will be nice to sit in another keep, my skin grows wrinkly from all the parties in the big pool of green keep. Time for a nice change of scenery. We all know what we can do and will have a riviting fun time this coming week. We will be coming, not just for TC, but for FA as well. You can count on my hammer.

PS… to the TC members who finally took our gar, I was that hammer up top on 3rd floor, enjoying the view. I only regret not letting my banner down on our GL in time, but overall, it was a blast.

What the lolkitten am I suppose to do here … kinda expecting a ppt push for next 3 hours but just going to draw out the defense mechanism in everyone. Well must be good battles, so going to jump in and check whose what and where.

The fact WvW got an update = WvW will likely get updates again. Was just a kick off starter which solved a MAJOR mechanic issue.

We will get more, so the fact WvW is getting attention, and in the interview, Colin noted WvW will get attention all year, as will PvP. Ladder incoming, lots of items that will be refined as a solid base of what we need. I want armor skins too, but think, shinies are not as important as mechanics and easier to throw in later. Mechanics need the attention, and then when they are ready, can be on a more equal playing field and get some ‘shinies’.

Would love to have equal footing with the other game aspects, but mechanics are most important imho, and happy to have ‘some’ attention. Ascended gear needs to be addressed.

Give more WXP for defense than offense, relative to the time it takes to accumulate when doing either. If WXP is more advantageous being defensive, then the game would grow incredibly boring with full maps of people sitting in keeps and upgrading. And nothing happening.

The way it is right now promote faster/stronger and offense. It’s meant this way to ensure the world is ever evolving … and not dry and boring. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy the work put in for a good seiged hills, to turn and say ‘mwahaha, gl taking this’ … but tbh … if the game favoured defense more .. or even relative … the game would slow. We need the fast pace.

PS … love the idea of monster maps. Basically forces split strat.

Server-wide truces are selfish, especially during prime time hours.

Many people only have a few hours a day to WvW. To log on and find no fights because someone is organizing a PvE event is kind of crappy.

If you must do something like this, schedule it for the off-hours, like before noon.

One player’s off hours is another’s primetime.

If you want to party with another server, use guesting. That’s why the feature is there.

Since you won’t be fighting others, there is absolutely no point to schedule your event in WvW. You can do it in PvE, and not impact the play of others in WvW.

It’s to get vista’s and poi’s in WvW … so the above is not possible.

EDIT: Thanks Jayne, would take buy in from all the big guys who are likely looking at my post thinking not a chance. But I’ll ask them all later, if they don’t want to, then so be it, but will at least try.

We enjoy the battles, everyone keeps an eyes on ppt. But as mentioned, it’s a blast in T2. Opponents, battles, and fun. I mean, perfect mix. Keeps game very enjoyable, about the community isn’t it? And this has to be one of the best communities (cough tiers)

They are opposite of selfish. Depending on your position. Kaineng has nothing to gain from it whatsoever. And everything to lose, but will still check if something is okay – hell even later than 9pm pst (cause EB likely be full)

I don’t have the pull Sarabi has though, but can sure as hell ask if its cool at a late night or hour or two before reset. Issue with noon and pre-reset … is most of these guys I assume work or school at that time. Late night is not such a big IRL challenge.

Nick, remove the bug or exploit crap from your comment. Last thing I want to hear is you got a 3day, and kain, TC and FA were actually was able to pull this off.

It’s done by ramming the doors down, both outer and inner on keep and running up to the vista without engaging the Guild claimer (the latter will never happen, so I would suggest give ample time for buff to wear off, and other server to come in). No kitten in around, its business. If you miss it you miss out, still would be incredibly challenging to pull off.

Thanks Sarabi, looking back I think people have been asking 3 weeks straight now.

Maybe tonight at midnight we can just port the EB map over to a dead map for a 30 min break (should give TC and FA enough time to romp into there, but communal about it, and pay it forward to eachother). That way there’s a shot at minimal resistance to walk in and out.

Still very chancy, I know likely going to have other guilds still around, so would hope it’s consensual and at least on the radar for the big guns (and they are okay with it), and yes … a one time deal. Don’t want to have every week another guy asking, and not looking to set precedent without sound understanding from other servers – one time means one time

We’ll see, when I get on later after work, I will ping Ether and other commanders… and ask around to any big guns on. Yep I’m talking about you commanders and guilds I have fun with, and respect.

I would normally take the RISE route, and fortify it up … but both servers have made incredible efforts for there guys on multiple weeks now, and likely posting because it’s last resort to having to fork out 40G+ on a chancy transfer to and fro. I’m not oppose to idea laying off if lead is up enough. But always will be choice of GL’s / and Commanders at that period in time.

~ We can’t do anything for randoms players on map who not listen, but can make a doorway of opportunity one time thing ~ so long as that’s understood. You power leaders are the ones who can somehow let it happen. Both servers got plenty guys need our keep. And KN been fighting always to keep primarily cause of WP.

Falls from the jump up to blue keep vista are rarely fatal. Also the jumps are significantly easier. Please do your research next time before you insert yourself into such a depthy topic as vertical jumping obstacles.

Sry, I am mistaken, you are absolutely correct. cough … must have a cold way up on that *outer blue vista. Careful when maneuvering the treb, it can be a fatal drop.

I would have to say red is disadvantaged, it’s the only color without 2 vowels.

Kinda odd, but not a big deal. Was just curious as to why it’s occurring and meant to ask for some time now.

Isn’t coin still chest? or is that only everyone else except dolyak’s? I get the coin msg when I loot the box and get coin’s, along with the icon and note telling me how much.

Anyone else having this issue? It’s happened a number of times, where I go to collect loot, hold down alt to check my loot locations. And when I see a wooden chestbox, you know the greens generally … run up to it, open it and get nothing. It fades off to vanish…

Making siege cost more (post on page 1) only makes more purpose to run more numbers consolidated.

You really think that a team of 6 would go ninja style capping if they have to do a supply run twice at each gate at keeps? or supply twice on an gate of a tower?

I don’t know … the math behind why people are together is more based on supply. I think capping quantity is hands down more enjoyable, but at the same time … I like to have some good open field collisions (but the skill lag is gross)

Maybe if we had a GvG style offering, it would change the way players play WvW. Open the way of thinking, so people have to use like split strategies, and such. Get players thinking more about something better than all unite on dorito, we having a smash the 1 race.

I’m not a dev, but there is things I bet they have thought about. Things to open new strats. I bet they laugh at us, seeing our WvW … like first year kids soccer. Everyone following the soccer ball, even out of bounds.

Please don’t spread false rumours. It has been public knowledge since day 1 that VK simply took a 1 week break to FC to see how different it was and to teach them higher tier tactics. Look at FA forums/ ask any major wvw guild, RET included. The plan was to come back after a week before we even made the transfer. Only a handful of us went, over half our guild is still in FA

Whoa … Kaineng player here, and we were discussing the same thing this weekend (can only assume an FC GL’s/commanders was reaching out to all other servers for support techings etc), but I am no gold digger, so likely opting out and will remain. If FA sent a squad down to help, happy to call it off here. Want to keep guys together in one spot.

No they said they were not publicly releasing it on the patch release as they wanted to gather and collect 1 week’s worth of live data prior to opening it up. I would assume that also entails watching its reaction and yes fixing or tweaking it slightly, but it is in play, and will be publicized once they are ready. If it’s not 1 week, it no big deal, and likely due to something which we helped contribute to.

Fact 1. Direction of kaineng is kaineng choice, not 1 guild.

Fact 2. See fact 1, and give props to your teamates. All of them. Kaineng is server full of talent, and many opportunities to learn all guilds – so many good fun players. “scratch head at something, like why we open/break down door and run away … ask” always reasons.

Fact 3 …. WM commanders are highly respected by RE, don’t throw random divide or hot air – useless. Many of our commanders run with them nightly to learn and have been doing so since kain in t8. We take their advice and they know.

Respect the guy standing next to you, and have fun. WvW is fun, fights are fun. And make a movie or love song, “When Zergs Collide” – helps promote open field better than insults.

Okay… NA player here on Kaineng, going to ignore the 1 comment from a comrade don’t appreciate the knock to our NA crew as we have … hands down heavier battles to deal with during other opponents prime. So yeah, we’ll win and lose some. But we battle tooth and nail, both the ppt game, and yes more so the open field battles.

Little darker skin shade, and that’s yeah that’s a very good description of me. It may look like an earthshaker, or bull’s charge … but just excited to hug all these friends. When I see those big packs, I jump right into everyone with open arms, and keep going till I at least shake the last hand at the back… only to look around and find I’m alone

Just want to pop in and send a huge thank you to TC and FA who fought in EB last night. That was incredibly fun all night long.

TC / KN zerg clashing just north of ANZ, was most enjoyable (you drove us back to the dredge, but battle lasted about 5 mins). Huge props to both commanding on the clash, I saw coordinated re stacking on both servers and ring around the rosey style movement avoiding as much red circles (or should I say standing in 1 versus the spots with 10+). In any event, big props to all involved there.

Also had some fun memorable moments out by golanta and the hylek, I was the lone war scout watching that path, and more than once was caught by the FA camps squads. One time, I was trying to check out the new menu and how it relates to the map (I get on late), and was hitting my oh $hh! buttons to no avail. Gave me the appropriate kick in the pants to pay more attention to my surroundings, as things were flipping like a hotcake shop during breakfast.

Just want to note, the ‘big’ became ‘bigger’ … is due to 2 facts.

1. Culling removed, allowing us to see everyone… this alone will make your average zergs appear bigger.
2. Patch. With any patch, comes floods of average fair weathered players who just want to try things out because there may be new ‘things’ or content or newness of something to poke around with. This will subdue in time again.

So while we do have more players, don’t forget we now can see more than previously too. I don’t believe the map limits have been removed, so it’s somewhat relative, with the extra fair weathered players from servers coming in to check it out.

On topic of Wexp – … they really need to give like 10X for defense to ever become something people will want to actively do. I could imagine that if a camp gave say 150wexp, and a keep ticker gave 1500wexp … people may say hey … in the time it takes to capture 10 camps, there may be likely chance someone will hit bay or hills, I think I’d rather siege up and give them some troubles.

Will never happen though, just saying. This patch gave commander icons more supply to go hit more stuff and that’s about it. =)

Which is fine for me… because I really enjoy those open field battle love stories … ‘when zergs collide’ (Trademarked, for hollywood)

I don’t care about exclusive gear… stop asking for it. We need open availibility to all gear through the avenue of game you choose to play. Be it pve (open world or dungeon/frac, or guild mission), pvp, wvw, (or heck even story /living story if thats intended in future).

This is not what we have, yet. This is ideal because that is what anet offered initial. Play how you want, truly customize your character and not be forced to grind. That said, there is always a somewhat forced grind factor regardless. Nothing comes on a silver platter, but hoping the accessibility may soon be there. I would love to waste badges on skins, even if those same skins were available in other aspects of the game.

I look forward to testing out the culling, and skill updates, but was hoping skins would be available in other avenues. Those gem store skins are amazing, and I do plan to try to get one, as I would pay for cosmetic options. But if my rng dumps 25 or 50 dollars into keys and I don’t see one. Whats the point, I don’t want to pay more that they should be worth. Just give multitude of options at a reasonable price. Huzzah, we have cosmetic customization options. this we can use more of. As well as options for accessibility (which even though may be crappy, have now been introduced which means they can add more in future).

Thanks for putting in the hard work Anet, and looking forward to trying out the release. I do hope this is a sign of things to come (aka ascended accessibility options maybe, I mean I still do 80% of my dailies in WvW so it’s kinda there but hidden). Would be nice to have something to dump badges onto, even if only skin options.

please don’t complain about having to do REAL pve for stuff instead of the fluffy make-believe “pvp” that we call wvw. it’s as bad as the pve’ers complaining that they have to do slightly different pve to get map completion.

i don’t want to see everything pve available in wvw – there should be just as much incentive for you to go out to pve as there is for pve’ers to come to wvw.

So do you mean wvw player equality should make WvW players go in to pve to get about 24 points of interest, 16 vistas, and about 8 or 9 skill points (the minimum a pve player needs to wvw)? Just trying to see where you are going with that analogy… wvw and pve armor/skins should be transparent, with a couple exceptions. If dungeons or temples have unique skins, so to does wvw (have 1 set), while pve offers what 8 dungeons plus a karma set plus 3 more for cultural plus 3 more for priory, vigil and orders… (the crafted and named sets drop in both). Just curious if the 15 to 1 ratio is considered equal in your mind? i get your a wvw like me, but trying to understand your analogy and where the line is. I don’t believe incentives are yet there, its more 1 sided … which is why people say something, all the time.

Let WvW players spend badges on black lion keys … that is all I would have done. This gives us the ability to use our badges while supporting the gem store.

My question is, what’s KN doing? Like…I KNOW that there’s no KN/TC alliance or anything of the sort, but TC’s creeping up on them in points and FA’s still getting hammered really hard by KN. Whenever I’m in EB/BL it feels like we’re madly dashing from defending against KN and TC one after another, several times even them hitting Durios and Bravost simultaneously….Our kitten is paper, so I understand it’s easier to take, but kitten Meanwhile, Anz, arguably the most vulnerable tower in EB, has been fully upgraded all day. Is KN just that confident in their SEA guilds to pull away in the mornings?

We tried ANZ about 3 times, testing it, and pulling down the cannon/oil. But decided many times to skip over to mendon’s (it was paper)…

eventually we got ANZ, but it was srs business. I mean it was like the chalice of a target, which if we took, we knew we could push the rest of the map, but it was not easy, and definitely not vulnerable. Ask TC, they usually raced in and holed up about 10-15 folks on siege. It wasn’t an easy take, and we tried it about half dozen times across the night.

We did however take mendons a few times during that span, which resulted in WC being flipped, tried OW a few times, but it wasn’t happening last I logged off (2pm pst).

In any event it was a lot of fun, and thank you for the battles, and ty to the kain commanders … you guys were great.

I think the most memorable time imho of last night, would have to be the Durios guild room ninja when FA did all the work. The timing was just impressive. The battles in QL and WC were also lots of fun.

You have to factor in that even if several large SOS guilds move, not all of their members will move with them and .. well, a couple of guilds from a T4 server really just don’t have that much of an impact to take a server to T2.

^^ This. I’m from Kain, and we were only one piece of the situation (our guild), but it took the might of many guilds from all brackets to make an impact and change.

Serious, when we all migrated initially it was very dead, but wasn’t long before things got rolling again. Farming Orr was very non-existant, only wvw existed quite popular. It all balanced out on route, and the wvw is just… fun. The people, the skill, the battles … the fight. All fun. But took so many guilds who worked together. Even in real tough times (where guilds opinions collided)… takes alot of patience and work, and planning.

Not a whaam bam its k2 man. I think the initial rooster comprised of somewhere between 10+ variations of guilds, and ‘active’ guild recruiting all along the way.

Personally feel very thankful to all those who worked it out together, yep, I’m talking to all you GL’s and commanders out there. you guys made a fun server.

To say SoS could with all their guilds, isn’t going to happen. Needs many guilds because the initial path is very challenging. And trying on your patience. To everyone who experienced it, on both sides of the fence.

And recreating all your unlocks … is not fun

Especially now with guild missions and base requirements of those for access. Commendations, I likes more pls.

^^ map join squad does not work, hoping it was broke in last wvw update. However … you select there avatar character running around, right click there name plate/image, join squad works every time.

Just have to be by him to join.

I would love the temple gear, and wvw access to the temple gear alike, TO LOOK UNIQUE.

Temple gear is flat and ugly across the board. I will wait to see what is in this update. I’m starting to find that if I want cool unique armor, I have to find some skin from random items that no one would ever go for. Regardless of color or stats. But the temple gear puzzles … I mean I seriously doubt Lyssa in prime battling Grenth would look identical. So why is there respective armors all lacking in depth?

I would hope at least if its the only ‘difference’ in armor skin … is they release temple armor looking unique. Even though its only 6 skins… hey it’s half year, 1 set per month… ain’t a bad number to roll with and gives some breath for future (as I eye all the content around the map unopened) . this all relates to me playing wvw, and assuming temple gear is the karma gear in reference, and coming to wvw. And my hope of style walking alongside it (for both pve and wvw) … I mean Anet the pedigree in art right? That’s what I believe… just waiting on the ‘wow’ factor for temple gear.

One more addition to kaineng ~ if you guys like fun events like name that tune, or karaoke, bring your funnest attitudes

We like to have fun, it’s not all srs business. Your playstyle would compliment our APAC/SEA guilds nicely, as a lot of our guilds work hard to build/upgrade keeps, we could use the diversionary strengths your guild could provide.

If I were to suggest out of kindness/respect alternatives…. other servers. The most formidable and respectful opponents I’ve faced are hands down BG & TC. I am on NA servers so I can not speak to EU servers.

In the end, where you like to play (it sounds likely you don’t want to be solely dependent, unless I read that wrong, so you want to have other guilds who will be on the maps) and how you like to play … I wish you the best in your venture, but do consider the servers I noted. They are all very formidable and have there own strengths and weaknesses.

The 2 guys still alive are not upscaled, nor hurt or damaged. The upscaled guys are all dirt napping. Did you get the npc’s and moa’s too? Cause they can be a challenging surprise

To the guy trying to get his legendary, pm Mayoken, Ethersin, Prince Jarvan, or maybe any of the WM commanders you see. Thursday night before reset, if not close enough battle, I’m sure they’d be happy to be good sports about it. They can talk it out with eachother, until then, I’m sure people will fight tooth and nail to keep the waypoint. Maybe southgates just to avoid the mishap with the wall. Talk to the commanders ahead of time, they are all cool guys about it, and I’m sure be happy to coordinate.

Hell, it would be even best if you left it green and got your vista, left the waypoint in tact. Not sure if its too much coordination or if that works, just tossing out the suggestion. The GL’s are best to contact if you want to explore the option (or any alternative to brute force)

I want to see the ladder, at least in its base form. I believe its the first fundamental step in a good direction for an esport game. I expect it will be minimalist at first, but the functionality if there can open the door to a full fleshed out ladder and progression system. I hope in future to see guild rankings and such leveraging this system.
