Yeah you kinda get 2 options … take it light or block. I know some of our commanders humor it, which actually keeps the whole of the server light. But in the thick of battles, it’s ignored. He doesn’t just chat though, he does go out and fight now and then.
Just get use to him callin ya mouthbreather
Kain’s greatest player is known as the greatest player as he self proclaimed it … (kinda reminds me of kids racing to the car, and one calling shotgun for front seat… he was first)
and most of us are absolutely fine with that. Adds to map chat … now visiting FA seems like an odd choice, because he holds ties to the roots of kaineng, and tbh … likely has had a positive impact on many players across the months, while providing some funny banter for commanders. It’s a perception thing, don’t take things personal, but rather openly. His criticisms often very light hearted with a inflated boost, but in the end, wants to be sure what makes sense when is happening, or why not be doing ‘x’.
To THE FA commanders, please do not feel threatened at any kickbacks. It can be perceived as a troll, or it can be light humor chat. Choice is in the eye of the beholder.
In the end I think he actually wants people to be better, faster to his own self perceived perfection.
Hi everyone, here to your ‘good’ battles you had this week. Hoping the non-issue items subdues or is handled in future, and to all the hard work everyone put in … great job.
Congrats BG, may be early, but at this point I think I can send along a note to your accomplishment. If someone can pm me about what happened with iCoa … I’d be interested to know or understand, as I’m an old darkhaven folk and know many of them. In fact I respect many of them. But ‘something’ happened, so I’d be interested to understand what it was in private – out of respect.
Congrats to you week everyone, and keep building that gap SoR, this tier likely remains in tact for months to come, and best of luck in the coming week.

I honestly don’t understand how people are still complaining about making money in WvW… Since the loot patch, I have made at least 7-10g a day in WvW. And I don’t sell rares or t6 mats.
That’s because us kainengians drop ya multiple greens not blue’s per kill, and give you something to the tune of 5s per kill with no mf/gold buffs.
Consider it lucky, tagging our zerg = 1g
TC … guy making golems for ya, take his golems. Stack and rack them, and use them at will. You guys are doing very well with golem ports and attacks. If he ignores you take them, port back, stack them where the commander wants, then see if he has anything to say to you… most people don’t appreciate when they go to the effort of prepping golems, only to have random players swoop in and take off in them. 1G per aint no scoffin matter. You guys could build an army with this guy. Free seige ft toast!
I’d prefer the guards be a bit more of a threat to a level 80 character, particularly the upgraded ones, but I don’t think this is the way to do it.
^^ this …. why waste silvers upgrading guards that can’t defend themselves against lesser numbers?
3 guys can still wipe an upgraded camp with Hylek. And the Hylek I consider an upgrade because they seem tougher than guards with that CC.
I would love those upgrades to count.
I am from Kaineng, and have been battling TC for about 6-7 weeks now with a week or so off. I can tell you that TC are more than formidable, and absolutely active in WvW. Also TC is hands down the nicest reputable server to play against. They have people who help build community which is core, because as WvW servers slowly fade and dwindle in numbers, servers who retain a good ‘community’ will long be lasting after.
Just my thoughts, I have nothing negative to say about TC at all and hope to battle them again for many more weeks.
~X [RE], Kaineng
FA, I’m pretty cheesed that you took our Greatest Player in the Game.
I had the honor of meeting the great AJax
You guys should have bought him a Tag before sending him over
The greatest player to ever play we didn’t send him over, he goes where he feels when he feels like it. Generally in EB.
He must have transferred very recently because we just had him on 2 days ago
We MISS you BG. And all your guilds … everyone of you. Trust me – I can probably speak for many of us openly, as we learned a lot of that and enjoyed the weeks we had together.
We’ll always have the “Bay” … it wasn’t about points, it was about objective and last man standing (on the map). No battles have come close to those battles we all shared.

Kain
GvG … in short = give us guild halls (or something – hell I think we’d be happy with a pong map), and the ability to hit something like 10v10 or 15v15 (guild require 51% representation to enter gvg), and give us ladder. Huzzah …
My next request would be obs mode coupled with tournies …
But alas, I doubt it will happen, if at all, or any time soon. One can hope though. Power of positivity.
When I get on after work, I’ll buy a round for LA karaoke rockstars
Server has a lot of character, and whether in a large guild or not, try to make sure everyone gets a props for a gj. Have fun while being competitive, very good balance.
If your ever interested in connecting with us, or want to get a feel, come on over and guest … and be ready for some fun. Or contact us, don’t be shy … that’s my job (was too chicken to sing last week)
He is one of the original commanders from I believe kain guild a long time ago. It was before wm even came here. He left and kind of abandon a growing wvw community at the time during what it seem like conflicts between other guilds not getting credit. The week he left and some other strong wvw guilds took the week off we took a major hit on points, which help DR to finally propel into tier 7.
I’m sure he can explain all why he left, which is a shame because he help establish the original hardcore wvw community in kain.
We still have Kain here I thought. Was it internal, or cross guilds … because we all play very well and enjoy each others company. Heck even mighteous gets a kick outta his contributions in righting wrongs and such.
I ran with Kain guild many times (what exists today), and respected and enjoy them. Good group of players. Everyone, whether guild or none, deserve credit for their contributions. But while going up ladder, many people accredit only 1 guild. But sometimes forum trolls just trolls. Ignore, people of Kain enjoy and have fun together, so different atmosphere.
Hell even have humor fun, name that tune, karako, open wall farming … so many things. Very communal place and nice.
Karaoke night in kaineng tonight?
I once had an amazing french fry, it wasn’t even from france . Frech fries have never been the same.
… but I still eat them, because one french fry experience does not deter me from enjoying french fries even if the general experience isn’t as good.
Boy I miss that french fry
TC has many ex-CD folks over there. I’d personally recommend guesting with them as a potential destination.
You have to make the transfer money, it’s not terribly long process, you could farm it up. Definitely do the dragon’s and either dungeons like COF or fractals whatever is your preference.
For now, I would stay off WvW to both retain focus on your objective, and not get discouraged by hitting that frustration point too. Wouldn’t want ya to leave altogether. Also WvW not making ya money
Get to point A, then consider ‘carefully’ about the point B (destination). Move to a server that fits your play style preference (if your all about numbers, higher up, if your more about smaller scale squad style … plenty of good servers mid to lower).
Best of luck Viking.
~X [RE], Kaineng
It’s circumstantial and a thing of timing. We face 2v1… when more idle / build seiging than roaming. Usually try to prevent 2v1 by hit target A, move back hit target b… much like the TC commander in EB was speaking to. Similar. He may have been going up to hit SM, and have to revert back to hit FA on the other side of the mountain, while we were hitting mendon’s, and going back to FA and hitting QL.
Durios is just a mess of fun and time killer. Likewise … FA perspective i can only assume would look something like this …
Hit QL, go to hit OW, with a mix of durios now and then. When they control it long enough … knock down outer … back / forth till push ready (like last night).
It’s fun, but imho … it gets the most enjoyable when all 3 servers collide together. 3 way zergs hitting anything (swinging at foes comrades, AI, whatever is close) … that’s just pure pleasure, personally speaking.
Kain in no position to move yet. SoR gaining more separation atm.
Personally I like this match up, hence why I tossed out both your servers name to guys looking to move over. Call it respect, or whatever. I see others doing the same for us, so it’s a mutual respect. And I kinda like that.
One way or the other, we win some and lose some. We are all fairly experienced at the WvW happenings, and frustrations. Enjoy the good moments, and wash away the bad. That example is a good tip, sounds like a commander strategy, funny how often when in battle simple exercise like that we forget, chalk it up to tunnel vision. Doesn’t just happen when zergs clash (tunnel vision), but the larger strategy too. Also cause I just want to go down with the ship till the bitter end sometimes. Lots of fun to be had see ya on the battlefield
P.S.. Love the kitten map, too cute.
~X [RE]
I don’t think Kain will be in T1 anytime soon yet… BG is facing the same tag team effect being the new kid on the block, and SoR ensuring we have no business taking SoR spot. Gap still far too large, unless drastic change occur.
Besides, we still learning some things, and do not want to go into the gross t1 thread. It’s pretty well, hostile at times. Not my style.
I have a lot of respect for both of our current opponents, and would appreciate another week of solid battles. Especially with the update incoming. Will be more an exploratory week than anything else.
oooo thanks Zyn, i forgot about CYN and KH, both very respectable and strong, and I’m an opponent
Okay … one thing to note. … and we talk about this all the time on TS.
TC is very good at ninja’ing our work. Basically will let us treb down a wall, and start pressuring with enough force to swoop in before we get there. We’re very aware of this, and they are very good at it. Have done it so many times on us these past 6-8 weeks, we get wise to expect it.
We hit TC hard on the weekend, not focusing at all on FA, really. To maybe see you change your tone, but alas… you won’t. And seeing that you hit us hard on Monday, very hard … we decided to focus back on you starting last night in EB. Poke a bear, see if he ignores it. Kain won’t. Did you notice when your NA squad came in to SM after trebbing, not long after we pushed you back out, TC was hitting our north gate with 3 golems and there army. It wasn’t fun at all, and things we’re looking as though we may soon be losing SM. Then we got a stroke of luck when our eye was on durious, and focusing on your seige/walls. We we’re still building our numbers and organization, and going camps, when TC took durious. Hell yes, because we couldn’t break your meat grinder on this side off the bridge.
But to ignore the fact that we hit TC hard for the first 3 days, is a little biased. Kain will hit each opponent so please stop the 2v1. In my example above, we had to defend for hours looking at the elephant in the room, with little options. But we don’t come here Jski and ask WTF?
Its frustrating whenever your fighting any downhill prolonged defense against both servers. But happens. Before FA come to play with us, we had BG.
Guess what, many … many times, we had hills, with one on our south gate and the other server on the north. TC does a great job scouting and taking opportunities where they lie. Kaineng learned that from our prior battles with BG & TC. They’ve also improved incredibly since we first fought and I see why they get the name ‘Zombie Coast’.
FA is a formidable opponent, we have high respect for you guys, and enjoy the battles. We love to fight, and learn where we can.
God forbid you partook in our BG TC Kain bay keep or hills 3 ways, those were battles where one attack became a map focused attack and fastest from rally res would win the keep. Many times, every server has to fend off both servers when there is an opportunity.
Mags once had to fend off 2 servers for 2 solid days straight. So maybe think about it a little, but I get your frustrations, and have been there before. It will happen many in T2. Need more facts that don’t include FA, but show the exact thing happening over and over all the time?
We generally walk away from those battles feeling like ‘wow, that was awesome’ … even if we lost. Trust me, I like building siege and defending SM, and you know how many times that place is subject to changing color (in general). I go down the … “we can’t hold out against this much longer” path often, but I move on and think how or what we could/should do next.

I’d recomend talking to iCoa, or Agg on BG …. and PiNK on TC. Maybe some inputs from there guilds can help with your decision. Transferring is no small matter.
EDIT: Best of luck – have to hit the road now. So I can get online in a while and face off with some TC & FA.
Whats your prime playtime?
If your at all close to Eastern, or EU / Eastern timezone, I’d probably suggest BG. they have a solid NA prime, coupled with an great EU prime guild who love open field battles. Server and guilds in server are all solid from my perspective fighting against them for weeks. Look up – Early hours – HB, NA prime iCoA (shout out).. adding Agg too here
TC, absolutely my favorite server. I can get anything with them, at any time. Whatever the flavor. Dungeons, map completion, temples, anything and they are hands down the best mmo server I’ve come across in the past 8 years in competative environment. (crossing WoW, GW2, Warhammer). Best sports, and they don’t call it the zombie coast for nothing. They can amass incredible amount of players on a whim, if you mess with their yaks. (look up PiNK, largest presence by far)
(edited by Hexin.5603)
If it doesnt work from the map click… find the commander in the zerg your following, right click his nameplate, join squad
when your done with him, /squadleave
Speak to Commander Sam, from PiNK… my recomendation, or any of the PiNK guys. Can’t guest wvw, but they happy to give a run down I’m sure.
TC a good bunch. Or visit GuardianOMS… Mags always ‘wants’ transfers. (sorry had to based on old thread thinking of transferring don’t come to mags)
Hands down, the best reputed server is TC in NA. By a long shot. Adversity in uncertain times has built it strong within. In NA TC takes the cake. And yes, every server gets the naughties now and then, but think consistency… TC hands down across the times prevails as best reputed in NA.
Q: “Is melee play possible against the large zergs of T1?”
And yes, melee is amazing against zergs. But not alone. You will die fast, like a bag of potatoes. I’m a front line hammer in RE, on Kaineng. One of many melee characters we have on the server.
In even numbers, melee are amazing in open field zerg versus zerg, or guild versus guild. I’m sure the other professions would say the same about themselves, but seeing as you asked about melee… YES. Big yes, absolutely big yes. Reason – we make or break the push when your movement deems and are one of the primary combo blast finishers for our necros and eles.
(edited by Hexin.5603)
Join Kain, we have WvW fun always. But I don’t know if it’s too expensive to transfer here. Many fun guilds and commanders. Heck even server wide karakoe has started last week.
For real though, if your one of those ultra serious, ragers … maybe T1 better for ya, T2 more casual fun, with good coverage from NA prime through SEA or EU (I say or, because it’s really one or the other in T2).
@ SmokeyNYY – really… calling a whole server (kaineng) lapdogs just because we played against BG and had a good fun couple weeks of WvW together? Don’t forget, when battle comes, regardless of whom it is, we kaineng (just like you) fight to be the last one standing. No one likes repair bills, doesn’t matter who the fight is against, it’s wvw and all out war always.
We actually like battling good strong guilds, even if we lose, just to learn and improve. We never had the treat of RG popping in, but we still learn from every enemy, or every guild we clash with. Win or lose, its what you take to the battles after that matters. Your right, we may not over take your server, but we don’t care atm, just care about the current weeks match, no sense looking past opponents who put this much fight to us already.
Keep calm and carry on. Catch ya on the battlefield.
To the post re: mesmer to necro port …. I’m going on a limb here. It’s likely because there’s very little around, and mesmer was going to go sooner than later. Maybe map chatted saying okay well porting in 5 mins at location ‘x’ please meet. And a lowly necro in the area who wanted some fun popped by.
Who knows.
@ Springbreak … I think it means more day time pop = younger audience, college kids = drunkards on this week ‘we can all agree’ sorry for the label, but they make videos of it for profit these days … and adults still working. Granted you have ‘vacations, road trips, and such’ … but a 15 year old will not on his own accord. It’s relative to the situation, and not at all anything in a negative way, so don’t take it as such. I’m not from TC but I think its safe to make that as an educated guess.
So the change must be relative to the only items that could contribute to change. It’s not like ‘server wide’ coordinated flex days from work. So what could have changed … hmmm …
I still think its close, and will be closer because of it. Hell I look forward to it. I’m on kain, and it definitely felt like heat last night. Tonight may be much of the same. Who cares so long as I can have some good battles, and to those I miss seeing this week, may your week be treating you well and enjoy the time off (if you have)
~X [RE], Kain
Kain is a fine server, don’t talk trash about it unless you play us … we’re happy where we are, and yeah, maybe might get beat down by t1 if/when we come. But a date with SoR would be welcomed just to stop the heresay and smack talk. In any event we’re happy and enjoying our wvw battles, and someday looking forward to seeing more guilds and servers … remember we know nothing of t1, yet. But learn fast.
Every night I walk the same path, it’s generally safe, so alone I can trot. The serene sound of ambient creatures is enough to keep me comfort. The night before last though, for the first time was different. I heard a whimper in the distance. It veered me off my regular course. I tried to locate the source, but the closer I thought I was getting, the whimper kept afar. Eventually, a little hopeless… I went back to my course and finished collecting my items. Last night, again … I heard it. The same light whimper, soft and quiet around the mountainside. I started along to locate the source, first along the left side of the mountain ridge, nothing within a hawkeye’s view could be seen. Then along the right side, again no soul in sight. But another soft rumbling sound also could be heard in the distance. I followed the right side of the mountains until I came upon a ridge. As I slowly came to ridge, the rumbling sound grew louder, and the whimpering was softer almost overlayed now. I peered over, and my mouth dropped in shock. Fires glistened in my eyes, and the scent of smoke lightly lingered. Little figures formed in the distance… of the camp now engulfed by flames. The figures gathered together, as one lifted it’s trophy high in the air … as light roar was let out. My stomach turned at the sight, and I sat back against a nearby rock formation. My mind raced to comprehend the events and flashed memories of the poor folks who once called that encampment there home. My heart raced and I could feel the blood flowing through my body.
As I gazed out across the ridgetop, hidden from view i could see a distant small figure high along the mountain side. Just then, I jumped at a piercing pain in my back, and my mind went into array of vivid random thoughts. Was I dead? I couldn’t focus, I grabbed at my hammer and blindly swung around, nothing. I jumped and rolled down the slope back to my path, riping out my warhorn, and giving a plea call out. As I came towards the base, I tripped and was rip back towards where the pain was. As I got to my feet, I saw the two culprits racing towards my downed location. One with the prize previously lifted in hand.
As I slowly pulled myself to my feet again, I threw my axe at one, hitting him in the leg and immobilizing him in place… but it was too late, the other spun letting out what felt like a hundred daggers ripping into my body, I collapsed. I was caught by surprise and I knew… I was in trouble. I couldn’t feel my legs any longer, and they closed in. I thought to myself, everyone has a day…
At that moment, an explosion hit the dagger wielding individual, and his body flipped lifeless. Was it a cannon? No. Rocks grew from the ground beneath crippling the invader holding his prize next to his lifeless comrade. I knew an ele was in the area.
Mist formed heavily around the area, and a I could hardly make out the sparks and shadows not 10 feet away from my broken body…. but what I heard next will ring in my ears forever. A fierce, forceful and volitile female voice yelled at her infidel “THIS … WAS YOUR CHOICE” … followed by a gurgling pierce.
As the mist dissipated the shadowy figure walked slowly towards me. Holding the prize in hand. She bent down to me, and laid healing waters around my broken legs. As I rose to my feet, scared of the fate that soon lay next … she looked me in the eye hard, silently. What was only seconds felt like a minute of interogation without words. She then turned, prize still in hand … whispering back “Don’t make the same mistake, it’s your choice.” And she walked the yak’s head back to it’s body in the encampment, whimpering along the way.
This moment changed my life, and I’ve been searching for her ever since, the one who saved me.
~ X [RE], Kain
Mind you I am just a plain old PuG, a little no body…
See you on the BL’s /salute!
I agree with your entire posting. And You are not ’just a plain old PuG, a little no body…
You are one of the many players in Kaineng server who help make it strong as it is. Stepping through the gate, regardless of tag… and helping your server out in any way you can. You sir, are most humble, and a big somebody.
Somewhere way back months ago, while going through and getting used to Kaineng, I believe Jang Gun wrote it best, and lives up to this day.
“The true power of Kaineng is not with the organized guilds, but with our PuGs”
Something like that. We have many players who play and may not want to be in the larger guilds. This is absolutely okay. If you are willing to come into the WvW, and want to learn, the commanders will try there best to help each person (not just guildmates) improve.
~ X (Xgammon, Hexin) [RE], person of Kaineng and happy to be fighting along side of you
I do get to see and battle some PRO guys on multiple maps but not on late enough to see team sized groups – just the old d/d ele’s here and there (guess the early folks), always enjoy the fights with them. Since way back in the day.
I’m PST prime, in RE – but I’m one of our late night crew members with Diaverse. Generally prime being PST 9pm-1am or 1:30ish ish. Maps I think we went EB > Kain > FA > Kain > Kain > Kain > EB … may have mixed up a night there.
I see it’s a timing thing. I would normally miss the BT (except early over the weekends), and RET I have seen, with many PRO and others … but not a RET guild zerg.
Hell my guilds prime lines up with you guys 4pm pst start. But I miss that too.
Reason I brought it up, was I enjoyed a number of those clashes, but they seemed to dissipate over the week (from timing, makes sense… we all have work, or I guess school for the youngins). The majority of the mid-week battles I remember battling KH and PiNK, along with many mixed groups. So I’m guessing those 2v1 tag team scenarios that were a hot topic were earlier than my prime? Sorry I wasn’t computing how the forum talks were versus my gaming experience through out the week.
Regardless I have enjoyed the battles all week from both servers.
Thanks for the great week, and to the guy who said Kain took a break for a night, I think your right, all servers have times where they take some time out to knock out the other game elements. Tues we did some guilds missions fluff, and random things, popped into wvw later (habitually), last night well … was another story. One of the funnest server wide / guild wide events to kick off a thursday … props to all involved, you guys are rockstars. Maybe I’ll sing for my server next week
Kaineng people are so fun.
To the matchup, I’m /ignoring the troll posts. Sorry, seen far too much of it past two days. FA and TC – we fought and battled almost everyday. Last night in EB, lots of fun.
No coercion, no planned tag teams, nothing. We fight when we run together, anything. The running around part is time waster, we want fights, so we look for them. All over. And both servers here provided plenty of them. Thank you for this week’s WvW efforts.
One thing I do want to say above the general thank you. I did notice that TC seemed to grow stronger and more present through out the week, where as KN and FA we first weekend strengths … but overall seemed that TC was growing in presence when our numbers slowed midweek. We still have large numbers, but there seemed to be more and more times Monday-last night where I saw formidable TC forces than FA. It was kinda role reversal from reset. I think this is because of the way TC as a server has developed (as I grow to understand it a bit more). They aren’t the one hit wonder, okay 20k back = 60% of pop showing up till reset. They seem to kick it up a notch every night. That’s my take, and it’s commendable.
FA , I may have been missing your larger guilds (prime time?) or been in the wrong BL altogether. I only saw BT? or whatever that early evening guild is?(apologies) once this week, and RET a few times since the weekend. The rest were not guild manage runs (so I think wrong place wrong timing came to play).
Hell, there’s even posts from I think a [RISE] guy complementing the defense, since they threw something like 8 golems at it.
[RE] Rethesis
RISE will often post some more along the lines of thanks for bloodbath battles, or challenges to kill commanders.
And those golems were fun, obviously we could have done a more coordinated strike, but in the end it was a big mix of tags, and I’m pretty sure we had a different guild in each golem and half maybe on voice comms. But was alot of fun and learning with the group last night. Tons of practice movements, between battles which really does help. Your defense was impressive. Reminded me of the old alamo days when first we met DB. Great battles, good fighting.
I was wondering how TC got an 8k lead. I was also wondering why Kain BL was left alone last night from TC but TC BL and FA BL was all red. Hmmm, coincidental? I’m not saying there was 2v1, I’m just calling out factual observation just looking at the maps last night.
Your just wrong. Sorry, KBL was RED. We just battled it out all night long taking everything back. See my posts above, and RE, WM, KO, CO, TL, RISE and many others from kaineng can all attest. Hell even TC could attest to them having our bay and hills and southern half.
We all have coverage gaps, Kain is no different. All our players on it know there’s a work day we all go to. Our NA folks won’t be ramping up for another 5 hours or so. Doesn’t mean we don’t have numbers, just not as many. Once NA kicks off it’s generally plenty to go around through to SEA time, in most days, we’ll run with each other through the transition. But right now, I would say we have least numbers we’ll have over the 24 hour period. I’m not going to flip this into a recruitment post, but just recognize that we have gaps too MagiofDeath.
And read my post above, we battled TC all night last night, rarely saw the odd FA (because I’m almost certain you were mainly in your own BL, as were we). Again props to TC for the great battles last night, this was all night long from about 9pm-1:30am, really the most enjoyable battles I’ve had to date this week.
There was many different guilds there representing, not just PiNK alone, but many, and if it wasn’t so intense I’d send your guilds all props. Lot of you guys were tough kittens and refused to go down without a battle.
Will be looking for all of you tonight, not sure which Battleground or BL we’ll be in tonight, but hoping for much of the same.
~X [RE] – Kain
(edited by Hexin.5603)
Just want to shout out quickly before the work day kicks in full swing – The TC folks on KBL last night, were alot of fun to battle against. Both in Bay and in Hills. You guys did a great job defensively and held for quite some time. For the first time in a while, when we finally did take it – it felt – like it was earned. Those hours last night, myself and many others from Kain had an enjoyable time trying to breach from various angles. Job well done to you guys and thanks.
I thought pre-req for all commanders was to be full glass
One way or another you’re going to be targeted heavily. Coordinated groups will highlight a commander and say something to the extent of … ‘guys I heard this commander dropped a precursor, burn him down’
Not true, even traited with gear for duration, thieves have a window open on CD’s. Often will leverage CnD on npc’s in the area not to use there utilities.
But they appear briefly, and will disappear. I play one spec’d to stealth, it’s not as cut and dry as everyone thinks. Your friend should lend the hand to note a thief is nearby, don’t res. It’s usually a bait situation. With a CnD (successful hit), BP, CnD, Tent, > CnD … you almost have a perfect window. But you still have to ‘hit’ your CnD’s and you can knock them outta tents with a push back, even in stealth form, punch them out of there tent.
Everyone hates thieves ~ because everyone hates stealth, hates dying from it, hates invis spikes… guess what 9 times outta 10, when your downed, it’s not going to matter if he is invis or not.
It sucks, I made one when I was kitten , he was fun, but there’s so much to counter a thief. blind for one, snares*, etc.
I hear ya though, I was there once, but now that I know how to counter them, I just wait for the window before randomly smashing my cooldowns on him.
Hold the phone, don’t report people with X’s in their name. Sometimes we only use 1-2 avatars for in game names… and our alt’s may use X Hexin X … just saying that’s my mes (5th character, other 4 are 80, and hes levelling up)
I use Hexin – <<< look … and have it already on another character. So I really want a name that people who I play with call me by in TS or vent. I don’t think it needs to be reported.
EDIT : Adding… this is one of my gw1 names I brought over. So holds some ground to me and my friends/community.
(edited by Hexin.5603)
FA – Fionna Apple, Fred Astaire
Kain – Keira Nightly, Kevin Nealon
TC – Thomas Calabro, Tony Cox, Tanya clarke (couldn’t go with tom cruise)
Just wanted to say thanks to SoS. I enjoyed many of the battles, you guys are very skilled. I hope to play against or with you guys some day, and wish you guys the best in t# for a return back up to t2.
thanks for the great battles,

…anything else is just a knock off. If I want quality, I go with the best. Just me, don’t care about the $ coin conversion requirement to make money. If I want an ecto to pop, I use a BL.
Rewards overall seem to be better, so the crazy ecto prices should level. 35silver a pop was silly. I honestly believe ectos should level at less than mystic coins. As ecto’s are easier to attain.
… just a game, sometimes patience pays off. I hope ectos land around 20-22s, but more likely will land around 25s
I haven’t even started my living story yet, I plan to this weekend. Hope that doesn’t impact anything, I just had 0 time to attribute to it.
I look forward to it, no matter what. It’s something new, and will offer a change of pace from wvw. I have 0 expectations set, so even if it’s dull I am still going to enjoy it, because of new content (no matter size). I find it odd that (as a wvw player) after so many months with little wvw centric updates (which I know are coming, and some have come), that there’s any reason to be upset by a living story achievement offer. It’s one of many varieties of pve updates that have come through since release. Even if it’s not your cup of tea, it’s still ‘something’ you can chose to do to re-res that personal story which left off so long ago.
Reading sometimes is a good thing, so I look forward to taking the same approach loneknight has.
I miss TC, I enjoy the things they taught me as an opponent and the out of the box strategies. Still giving props to Sam and friend for the 2 hour nap in bay. Never … never … did I see that type of patience in game. Done twice that week to both opponents.
On top of it, sometimes you would be dormant, and almost on a whim, you guys who be in full formidable force enough to out power both opponents. On a whim, like the wind. I get why they call ya the zombie coast now.
With FA in this current match up, gotta say … it’s been good, and SoS. There are plenty of good battles. You guys can bring strong forces too, but it doesn’t feel like the epic battles. they don’t last forever an a day, there’s little open door policy. you guys all bring it. Hell last night my 36 was dirt napping to a team of SoS roamers, twice in 1 run. teaches me for feeling overconfident and roaming solo at that level. I should know better.
I believe TC will in the end pull up a tier. The progression scale it’s going to happen, matter of when. Until then, we have 2 formidable opponents, and plenty of good battles over the map. Looking forward to the learning curves.
Just loading the game up again, but wanted to send a final thanks to both BG and TC.
BG – best of luck to your server in the coming battle. I wish you well and will cheer you on up there. It was good to see Icoa again, had some great run ins with HB, and you server has so many more guilds. I hope you all do well, even got to battle agg a couple times, and that was fun.
TC – Your entire server is full of awesome. Retain that, and hopefully it can spread like fire across the tiers like pay it forward. You guys also have some amazingly talented players, who I question wtf just did that – starting with Sam (was my first encounter). I believe TC will hold a strong wvw future. Your guilds, and talent run deep, but no other server has the same strength of unity I’ve ever seen. At any moment you seem to be able to unite and call army’s big enough to crush people in minutes if you want. Among another notable is a mesmer I had the challenge of battling more than a few times, the way/style he fought reminded me of a friend I ran with briefly. Had plenty of good battles, even the camps seemed to hold some fun when the mood called for it. I hope to see you guys soon.
All the best to both of your servers in your coming week,

Golem = 1g per, golem walk speed is something like 50% of less that of normal travel. Not porting them would basically render them useless. Want to eliminate a game sink, knock out the ports, watch everyone just use rams. They are effective in a couple situations, and still dependent on the party/group squad to have enough ‘x’ to support them.
Counter golem portals, 2 things … scouting or keeping an eye on roaming mesmer, especially between common strike paths. It’s predictable. If you catch them when lining up (often do a practice run if there’s a newer mesmer). You can pretty much set up a trap. In most circumstances, your not going to be this lucky. Things to keep an eye out for that commonly give you a heads up without having to find a needle in a haystack. Camp circles, try and meet a zerg at a camp, or keep an eye on the camp (1 person) can tell you flat out if they are making golems. Usually means they plan to strike with them at some point in the coming hours. Watch for it, there will always be a calm before the storm.
How to deal with a golem port when it happens.
1) situation you know its coming: meet them at a mid port (2nd or third) … they will miss the final push, most golem drivers like the cakewalk style, and get irked if people don’t ensure there safe passage. If you have a group enough to cause some chaos along route, do it. Engage them in combat, so they can flee via WP.
2)situation 2 you know they are coming: let them port there chain through and rush them from behind. Kill the group, not the golems. Safety is numbers for them drops. Only really successful if you have a thief who can contest there closest waypoint. Make them run, strike will fail.
3) Situation, oh noes get here now golems at gate. Truth is … if you and numbers are not close, consider outer breached. It may still be salvageable if you have enough defensive siege. Most cases, prep inner if not already. Cata the door, reign arrows etc … in most cases, a golem rush will have already been doing fake strikes (feign) to rip down cannons/oil and any siege they reach. Often will also contest (if owning more keeps) the other keep to draw you out to check other keep right before they strike. This is a telling sign of any strike looming. Immediately recover and rebuild. If you don’t and let it go, there bigger issues.
Scouting will give a heads up, anywhere along the way. Whether scouting the common lines used, the camps, or even there strike starting point.
Golems are not hard to kill if you are there to defend. And in case you haven’t used them, they are painfully slow.
All servers please remember to report people you see breaking the rules.
Right now there is a speedhacker from BG zooming about EB. And they are movin’ with the zerg that was just pushed out of outer OL. Please make it as fair a matchup as possible!
Just be sure to remind your server folk in game (report), becomes a cat and mouse game, but you can predict where he is going to hit usually. For the most part, let’s keep the speedhacks and such out from the thread. But we can all take note of the reminder.
Just want to avoid any possible cans that don’t need to be opened.
~ and I’m from Kain fyi… just a courtesy. I respect our opponents and will continue to do so for the fun battles.
