Followed by … as you can see its a deterent to our servers based on the quantity of players showing up now. it’s virtually impossible, so this impact will ‘likely’ result in transfers leaving to high pop servers… which in turn kitten es off the higher pop servers as they can’t even get into there own maps as is.

I’m on TC and only have been able to get into my own overflows everytime. No luck yet, every overflow battle has been to 90%-80%

only teq waas revamped, the rest of the bosses were only given timers, more health, and aoe skills to drop on the currently abused “safe spots” where people 1,1,1,1,11, and walk away from the cpu.

Each dragon will be revamped and hard as teq, but only teq has been completely updated.

There are two issues and both are completely not related to how hard the battle is, or battle mechanics.

So stop the carebear and omg this too hard.

The issues are :

1. Overflow
2. Lack of scalability for servers with no pop. It should still feel impossibly hard, but they should see a glimmer of hope if they are properly engaging in the mechanics. Whether 50 or 170 people are on the map, proper strategy and execution should provide the ‘we can do this’ … or ’I get how this works, now to improve for next battle I need to do these things better"

It’s not that Teq himself needs any changes, its actually the game mechanics the battle is feeding into. Same will occur with the other re worked bosses and this needs to be considered.
If the map only has 20 people on it, okay well they shouldn’t have a hope in hell. Sorry open world bosses need or should need an army to take down. Tough beans but if it were irl … you think your 10 man should be able to kill godzilla? Consider it, and its more realistic if we have armies of bodies to throw at it, which is by design, so it should have a minimum say of 50-60 as base, and scale from there. If you guys don’t have 50-60 … that unfortunate, you should guest, because your server is likely dead. Even in my brief stint on fergs crossing in t8 we were able to get those numbers to jormag so don’t say its not possible, and fergs weas dead. I mean 20 people in wvw, 15-20 in LA, but a dragon timer, had 50-60 show up every time.

We held the most blood lust buffs in NA today, and we took your TCBL hills, so…

Of course were not in first, why would we be in first, we dont have the 24/7 time coverage you guys have. Everytime we face a tier 1 server or TC, I go to bed knowing we losing everything we have way pointed and fortified while we sleep. Doesn’t bother me one bit, its just a plain fact when we face you or any tier 1 server. After NA goes to bed TC ppt rises from about 200-250 to about 400-450+ most of the morning for about 8-12 hours. I’m sure you opposite timeszones are bored of fighting just 2-3 of our oceanic/AU guilds. Most of the time they take everything with no resistance. I stayed up Monday morning and surveyed all 4 borderlands. FA had outman buff in all 4 BL’s even our own, between 0100 PST – 1200 PST with TC almost hitting 500 PPT. So we have no coverage for half a day. So thats why your score doubles ours.

Funny though when you guys get matched up with tier 1 you guys lose because you get a taste of your own medicine. Last matchup with FA vs BG vs JQ, BG and JQ had horrid militia with the exception of a few guilds. But their massive number superiority 24/7 is what keeps them in tier 1.

ummm… every game out there has huge challenging open world bosses. Anet did a good job with this. The only issue isn’t around the boss, nor the mechanics of the battle. It’s around lazy people with lack of understanding or lack of will power to ‘read’ … coupled with the issue with the overflow system. Main maps tend to succeed where overflows fail . Really its just an understanding gap, which will shrink with time and experience.

/AGREE + the overflow problem apparently …. ^^ trolling turrets going pew pew pew will cause event failure. I find it funny how no one reads the event tips stickied in the forum before going head strong into it.

fyi … organized guilds are starting to guest at low pop servers to avoid the overflow issue brought on from scrub randoms who play alone by themselves in dark corners.

Otherwise you would have seen him tie a rope to the end of his arrow and fire it at teq’s neck. Then proceed to perform a legolas like swing around teq mid air onto his back. Obviously – he didn’t bring the rope.

Pick your player you choose to view from, spectator open map chat only available for those watching, and ability to see the skills used by each player/ bar (in the case of stances and instants). What was wrong with this system? You could pick what you wanted to view, and the perspective you wanted to view it by / minute by minute

To be honest I think the sPvP is being carefully looked at. If you remember from the beginning of the year, they noted there will be focal improvements in sPvP and tPvP.

To date we’ve seen ladder implementations, some maps, and cosmetics. But the underlying system I think is up for some thought too. If you count the actual participation level during peak hours it seems like it could improve. So how do you do that?

Personally i would hope to see some major improvements to the system, coupled with add’t styles of play released via expansion. Like ‘hey- ho customers, you spoke, we listened… this expansion ($ will open the surround pve maps/sorrows furnace whatever…. while adding – isle of champions or hall of heroes). Whatever you feel is the right kinda lure system to pull players into this aspect of the game if ya follow my drift. I’m just giving examples. It just seems dead right now, but I would hope this improves.

Hell, I think our Mists map has more people queueing for WvW then actually joining any form of a battle. I like the improvements to date (since compared to release) and hope for some means to attract the populus to play more. I mean there are really great players in here, that basically just farm the small handful of newer casual players like myself. I want to rank up, but the system at the moment feels like a time waste. I ask myself … should I hot join, or wxp lvl an alt … I’d rather it not even be a question, in fact I want to log in at the mists, similar to the hall of heroes (heroes ascension) was nightly. It was a great community and fun objectives/reward system.

Farming ranks points, doesn’t make a player good. So if in the long run you matched 2 equally ranked teams up based on rank (1 rank farmed, 1 rank earned) … guess who would win? So i don’t think it’s a problem.

The rank system seems similar but weaker than the rank system in hall of heroes, and team arenas. If there was better expansion in the pvp system to mock that style of place … I could see many people coming and caring about spvp more. I’d happily join up a team and battle if it were similar to hall of heroes style tourneys. Or even 5v5 and 10v10 guild style gvgs. Right now I look at the browser and see ~ maybe 10 battles with 17/20 and a huge drop off down to 2/20 0/20 on the same screen.

I like the locker, but would like to use the items to show off to more than the 100 people who are in pvp atm.

Something here needs to be done to make it more of a focal point or reason for players to come crowd up and ‘test your might’. I’m by no means good at pvp, but I do want to explore this area … but at present feel there is a large disparity between a new player coming to pvp, and teams farming new players, and then no players at all. There’s no kind of … entry level 1 area, advance to level 2, advance to level 3 where skill determines how far common teams advance while giving the lesser skilled players battles against eachother.

It really was a good system, even the 4 way, and 3 way team battles at the beginning. Made grinding rank somewhat enjoyable.

Congrats to BG on the World first, and i seriously cannot believe anet didn’t place a single precursor in a world first event for the victor. Battle seems worth it.

This thread is boring. But last night had some great fights with the 3 zergs or guilds from SoR … out front our spawn. You guys know who you were, but wanted to shout out to you guys for the fun. It really was the most enjoyable practice and battles I got all week. i think you guys got that we were trying to practice and you guys broke into 3 evenly matched groups. It was fun, even when you guys strategically positioned yourselves.

Special thanks to the exs guys for there leadership and lessons too. We had alot of takeaways from it and wanted to send my thanks. Can’t remember i think it was SoS bl for an hour or so at 9pm ish?

I was there for that! IIRC that was FEAR split in half among 2 commanders of 10ish plus some pugs each and a third DIE group off in their own channel, probably half drunk and doing their own thing. It was a ton of fun, I hope everyone thought it was group movement training and not spawn camping since there was no siege set up and plenty of space to move around was given. Massive props to both sides for not being lame. I know the backline got some great training on how to dodge the head of your pain train.

It was seen as that. A lot of movement training, not spawn camping. For almost an hour it was very enjoyable. Then we broke and a small havoc group ran out and found out one of the teams was still there the hard way. Much props to you guys for the battles, it was the most enjoyable practice we got in all week.

Who cares what anyone thinks? let the devs dev a game for us to play, if your feelings are hurt in a virtual world, you may be too into it. I GvG and could care less how others feel, they can stay, watch, play or pass by, or even tell me to f off I’m hurting there little bubble of reality. Likewise, they do things and I don’t expect them to consider my feelings before there actions. Just do what you want when you want and have fun. I like the generalizations of players here though. It’s funny.

In all honesty, I can see the next major release including something like this so we willingly want to pitch in our money over to them. Why not? I’d pay another box price just to have a real avenue for GvG, including ghalls & ladder.

PS I’m a firm believer that our so called 15v15 or 20v20 is too large. 15 should be tops, but 10 is the perfect GvG number. It’s all about the maps, and strats or should be. Not about the rugby teams lining up and hitting heads together.

We need to be tossed in between 2 of the top 3 for 4 weeks straight. Still … it wouldn’t mean TC would win, but it would give the larger scale WvW populus who do not get discouraged an opportunity to take it up a notch and learn. Yep … I said it.

If we only play with one of them, it would be much of the same. With 2, it would force the superior group to ‘watch there back’ from there main opponent, while offering our server a chance to learn what they do so well and test out the waters.

I personally run a zerg support build and almost always know my fate if I have to 1v1 … looking at my tiny shout heals, and long cooldowns, and my banner, wishing wondering why I never put the sig there. Then I waypoint.

I find it funny in GvG in GW2 … the rule is … go zerg smash into eachother. But GvG in GW1 … was about actual strategy, map movement and positioning.

This game doesn’t know GvG yet. It’s more like mini zerging

SOR, please be civil with TC. You should expect that when a server with so much pride in their wvw skills is getting utterly obliterated, a few of their members are probably frazzled and just came here to vent their frustrations. They have no choice but to resort to the tried and true " your roamers sux" line to make themselves feel better.

Hope we get our refund back for wine we bought during this time. i thought it was on purpose to make the broke, that much less wealthy really put the squeeze on (as a sign of affection of course)

To clear the air on sigil stacks, both teams had them, and we cleared each others every match, yep … every match. Really it was only about 2-3 from each side who had them. End of fight they would walk over to get downed and rez’d.

Personally I’m still old school with fire and the gw2 version of vampiric but whatever. Someone who got 2-10 stacks in a gvg (10 would be impressive) but had little impact on it. Both teams likely had fill-ins.

Nerds can’t chest thump – its a known fact.
