The thing is, T3 is CLEARLY designed for females. Not for males. We demand a real MALE version of this tier!
I love these odd jobs you find scattered around the world and as a hero of Tyria and the savior of mankind, I am entitled to help. Be it wine tasting, training cows or feeding hostile rabbits. Share your experiences here!

Guardians aren’t designed to be glass cannon but as you can see, we are VERY capable at it if build and played correctly. This guy uses might of the protector with his heal skill giving him stacks of might which he uses to squeeze the jelly out of any1 who steps into his way.
the smite actually hits a bit further than 1200. U see this in twilight arbor boss stage.
When you see 4 Guardian/Mesmer groups doing speed runs like Warriors do then the class will be fine.
I think your post just gave me a cancer. What part of GUARDian do you not understand? There won’t be a day that guardians roll dungeons with glass cannon builds and friking longbows. We have a wonderful class that leaves so much potential to skill-based gameplay and if you just wanna compare your dic… damage with others then you better just pick a different game.

My point is that if they start balancing classes, they will rather drop stronger classes to the level of weaker classes to balance things out. Yes we have our own problems but those are nothing compared to rangers, engineers and necromancers. Class balancing is a tricky subject because no matter what they do, there will be people whining about traits, weapons, mobility, damage etc… We have weapons for different situations. Scepter is clearly meant for pve and we don’t need a ranged weapon for pvp or WvW coz we can rock their world with our melee CC. Only1 who can make your class more enjoyable is you and you only.
Ps. Who used spirit weapons anyways? The shield of the avenger is cool and all but I only use it in fractals.
Guardian is already one of the most balanced classes in the game. The nerfs are never as big as people like you make them out to be.
Only a guardian can make people commit group suicides at WvW.
Burning builds aren’t generally favored by most guardians because then you will have to sacrifice other stats for condition damage and seeing as we have only 1 real damaging condition (burning) it doesn’t really pay off. PLUS burning doesn’t stack intensity but duration. I recommend checking some altruistic healing builds. You will find yourself doing alot more damage and survive longer. You will be appreciated more in the dungeons as well. Buuuuuuut in the end you should only focus on your build and gear when you hit lvl 80 coz that’s when your traits and gear make a difference. Play however you like until you hit the max level and then start thinking about your build and gear as you will have to balance those two to reach your jobs maximal potential. Also try different weapons and find the ones that fit you best!
When it comes to PvP and WvW: Chill. Changing traits only costs few silvers. You should start doing PvP/WvW when you’r confident with your skills. Otherwise you might lose motivation after dying all the time.

Only a guardian thinks 1000-1200 crits is great damage.
it’s funny because it’s true.
I crit 5k´s and I think I could do better. Also my survivability is getting better all the time as my skills get better.
Also: Only guardians can block thieves and warriors burst while thinking what to have for dinner.
You will always have “save yourself” and changing skills before combat is common sense. Also staff is a good weapon for WvW or support.
staff, “retreat” and “save yourself”. Also if u get boon duration runes and trait into virtues there’s your perma-swiftness.
Scepter needs some love but it doesn’t mean it sucks. Scepter packs a real punch and if you didn’t know this then that only shows how little you know. It’s also great for stopping the enemy from escaping.
Only a guardian can “Leeroy Jenkins” the enemy zerg and take 6-7 of them with him.
Every guardian just have to have a scepter in the inventory for 2 reasons in my opinion: #1: You’r going to need it against harder bosses in PvE since some of them simply aren’t melee-able. 2#: WvW, scepter is very viable here with zerg situations for example. Freeze the enemy with S3 and drop S2 and then start firing auto attack. Most will miss but in chaotic situations you can get the whole S2 hit the target and almost all the ranged classes are dropped due to its massive damage. Also when you’r supporting a zerg: wall of reflection, shield of the avenger and scepter can change the tide of battle in a blink. The projectile speed is still terrible tho and needs a fix. THAT is what makes scepter nonviable in 1v1 situations.
Field that blocks projectiles for decent period of time. Awesome skill. The only downside is that it has ridiculously long CD and it’s hard to control when the shield is gonna pop up. Extremely useful in fractals and WvW.
I have completed this quest and I don’t even remember it because it was not all that hard. Watch the wind and keep your calm. Once you get frustrated things are only gonna get harder. Couple days back I completed the so called “impossible” jumping puzzle: skipping stones and you know what? It was hard but as I have played maplestory, I know how to deal with difficult jumping puzzles mentally. Take a break when you feel like screaming and try again after taking a short break. Games are supose to have challenges that take special focus and I love it.
Nightmare armor looks absolutly fantastic. Shame that the sylvari glow affects it as well.
Fractal hammer is my personal favorite. It stats to drop after fractal lvl 10.
Here’s a good example of some1 who hasn’t studied his guardian. Yes. STUDYING. Don’t like studying? Then you can’t be truly effective and bring out your classes full potential. The biggest mistake guardians in general do is trying to build themselves for damage trough TRAITS. You can do that with your gear. We have incredibly good traits and many of them have even better synergy with each other. Let’s take altruistic healing and empowering might for example. Altruistic healing=heal for each boon you provide to your allies. Empowering might= all your critical hits grant might to you and your allies. Not only do you heal yourself at almost ridiculous speed but you will also provide constant 10+ stacks of might.
Also remember that pve, WvW and pvp builds are completely different. Guardians have abilities that grant us way more survivability than warriors even tho we have lower health pool. Also, hammers son. Use them.
GS>Hammer is not a fact carved in stone. It’s completely opposite. Greatsword is great for taking on alot of mobs and it has some control as well BUT hammer has MB that has half the cooldown of WW plus awesome control skills that are just screaming for the right moments to stop, bind and knock back your enemies.
In PvP or WvW I never lose to a warrior because I have all dem buttons to keep them at bay and all the ranged classes just HATE wall of reflection. It’s a skill that changes the flow of battle in WvW and forces enemy lines to retreat.
Love your class and it will love you back. <3
Final touch: signet of justice instead of bane signet

Here is the final build. I know that I have 20 points in zeal but it just feels weird to leave trait that boosts gs dmg off. I was thinking of training armorsmithing to 400 and craft full draconic with power, precision and vit/toughness. I was planning to prior toughness in gear over vitality for more effective self heal. Do tell me if there is still something I should take into consideration. Still, in the end this supports my own preferences so the greatsword stays. (I friking love greatswords) Thank you for your support.
I also agree with changing SYG to HTL.
Extremely good points and sorry for being so brief. Here where I am, there is no acces to computers and I have to work my build with my phone. You pointed out exactly the things I was unsure of and I agree with changing revenge of the fallen to fiery wrath and also using staff as my secondary weapon. Taking 10 points from honor is another thing. I don’tthink it would be wise since empowerement is also a support skill and offers constant might to me and my allies. Also the minor gives more dmg when I’m low on endurance. Radiants 2nd tier doesn’t really offer me anything so basically I would be changing 2 good traits for only 1 good trait. Zeal line also provides me power in which I’m focused on.

This build is what I worked out with offensive greatsword style in mind. I wanted constant might and short cool-downs with shouts.I want to be able to play solo but also be supportive enough for group-play. Tell me if you think it’s viable or if I should change anything. Thank you beforehand.
The sylvari dance is the best in game. No other race can match my fabulous swagger when I bust out dem moves.
