And I’m not entirely sure what you’re after with this post. Refraction would be a ridiculous skill on land but underwater it’s neat to have since only about 3% of combat happens underwater. Shield of absorption is for different kinds of situations and thus doesn’t need a longer duration because it does its job and it does it well.
Well the thing is that refraction is an underwater skill and shield of absorption is merely for knock-back and minor healing.

I guess so and how about superiour rune of the dolyak? Does it scale with healing power and does it stack with our own health regen?
I see what you mean. The flame-like effect has been changed into this mild glow. Particle effected weapons and legendarys tend to get alot of love so you just have to wait for the next patch and hope they fix it. =/
so we get nothing again and thieves and d/d eles get buffed. WHAT
Neighter of them got specially buffed. Thieves are no longer able to spam stealth from wvw walls and mobs don’t drop agro even if thieves go stealth. Eles got a ride the lightning nerf which increases it’s CL and makes them a lot more CC-able.
The life boost for SWs mainly affects SoA which really needed that buff.
Hmm symbol of wrath gets larger.. But we will not visual see the different since it didn’t cover all of the visual? Still think symbols are toooo small:b I mean you can just fit two persons in there at max.. Be they azuras xD
There is a trait that makes them as large as any other AOE field. I recommend taking it as it makes a huge difference in pvp/wvw.
I also think it looks better. I didn’t really like the fact how transparent it was even tho that was the whole idea. Giving it a bit more of essence (see what I did thar?) is a good thing.
+1 for “upgrading” Soldier Runes!!
Now remove a condition of all your allys affected by your shout
Isn’t that a nerf?
At least from what I’ve observed, they CONVERTED conditions into boons. Does this mean now they’ll work as advertised and only REMOVE conditions instead?
That’s pure of voice.
Playing a support/CC role seems a lot more fun now. I can’t wait until…my computer gets out of maintance…Kittenpie!
Also, forgot to mention:
“Food items that give special bonuses upon a critical hit now have an internal cooldown before they can produce the special bonus again.”
I see this having a huge impact on the PvE/WvW meta for all classes, but for Guardians in particular, with our emphasis on passive healing. I think it’s a positive change, but I might be biased, since I never ran Pies in either mode (kinda saw them as a crutch, to be honest).
One thing I really liked about this game was the build option. Been running and gearing a Sword dps build which may not be viable any more. Losing this options just forces AH more IMHO. Without testing I’m going to say this potentially killed a fun build. Sad.
Blood~
Well, First the 1h sword crit with AH/VP gets nerfed, now just the standard 1h sword crit build gets nerfed again. We are seriously at the point where 1h sword has almost no viability.
Some people still use them to close gaps and create a small “safe mode” with zealots defence. Also it’s fast.
I have played guardian for all my time and healing power has always been a problem I have been struggling with. Right now if I wield my staff, I have 480 healing power but none of that comes from my other gear. If I want to become a bit more supportive in WvW for instance, should I get more?
Also I seem to be kinda stuck with 0,0,30,30,10 build. Is it worth it to go further in the virtues? The boon duration affects party members as well right?
I think we have a friend among the DEVs. Atm it seems that the only class that got bigger buffs is necromancer and I don’t mind. We need to see more necros.
Sad tho that rangers only got minor changes.
Epic patch… epic. They finally fixed pure of voice which is HUGE and also the line of warding while in motion is gonna be a game changer in WvW. Also faster cast-time on empower. This was a patch to buff guardians supportive abilities. Daddy is pleased.
Omg! I just read them too.
-Pure of voice fixed!
-Line of warding while in motion means ability to REALLY stop enemies from escaping and also the ability to get away more efficiently (not like we needed to but still).
-Faster empower= daddy likes with AH build
-orb of light heals more
-Don’t use healing breeze and that was one of the reasons
-Shield of the Avengers health boost is VERY welcomed.
-Hold the line fixed=FINALLY.
In the end we really got awesome stuff with this patch. It begins to be obvious tho that Anet wants the guardians to be more supportive. But again: Pure of voice fixed… I knew you were listening big man.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/races/norn/Show-yer-norns
Every profession has a “show your character”-topic. No need for a general one unless it’s for the landscape.
I would love a profession that could dual-wield 2 focuses. Would look epic.
First of all: Glacial heart is an useless trait. You don’t need that. Second: retaliation is useless in PVE and you don’t need that there and third: empowering might is more of a support trait and plays really well with altruistic healing. It’s not really ment for solo play.
Change those traits and invest a bit more into power and toughness. The radiances GM trait gives you plenty of critical chance. This is a solo build so I guess you can live with that but later on you might wanna change to a bit more tanky build and switch torch to focus for instance.
I admit that it’s an interesting idea, tho it does provide problems such as if they were to adjust the speed of every orb to meet at certain point, the difference in speed couldn’t be too big. Also in pvp the orbs would never “meet” because the target would be moving all the time.
I say this to all new guardians and I will say it to you too: test ALL weapons and don’t bother with only 1 build. Build how you see fit and when you are lvl 80, you can change it all you want to fit YOUR weapon of choice.
Scepters range is 1200. I would prefer homing projectiles.
So? Its auto-attack is still mid-range oriented by design, and I see no problem with that. Guardian is not a sniper.
I did not say guardian was a sniper… I merely corrected you. 1200 range is vital against some dungeon bosses like the nightmare tree or Lupus. In PVE scepter is an fantastic weapon but in WvW or PvP the player is forced to approach enemies and not support your allies with ranged pressure.
-All wards now affects only the player himself.
-Scepters orbs range has been reduced to 600 and now shoots an baby raccoon which heals all wounds and conditions on enemies.
-“Save yourself” now draws conditions from 50000 range and all the boons duration have been reduced to 1s
-Using a shout now causes a debuff “sore throat” that makes all shouts go on 24 hours cool-down.
-“Retreat” now includes 50% chance of tripping.

Personally I play a guardian and I have hitted as high as 8,5k in WvW (on a light class ofc) without speccing on damage all that much. You just need to learn how to stack dem sweet might. In the end tho guardians are about sustained damage while not dying. Deal less damage but don’t die >>> GC burst monster who needs a baby sitter for dying so much.
So if my job was to make toys, and i made defective toys, often with sharp nails in them or even toxic material, should I be forgiven because “hey” its my job.
I am not gonna argue wether arena net is doing theyr job well or not.. but they kitten well better except to be held to the same standards as people who work in a diffrent industry.
As for taking the game less seriously, you said it yourself, its a hobby, my hobby.. who are you to tell me to take it less seriously?
Yeee….That toymaker comparison doesn’t really work here… They actually created and maintain a game that entertains thousands of people and you compare them to a toymaker who makes health damaging and dangerous toys? Get your head out of your kittensandwich.
The OP is telling people like you to take it less seriously because GAMES are a HOBBY unless your an asian starcraft professional.
Guardian, warrior and elementalist are all professions that can balance survivability and DPS pretty well. Ofc other classes can do that too but usually they tend to focus only on the other one. Warriors may belong to this category as well seeing as we have quite the number of CG warriors (dying) everywhere.
I am unsure about making #2 a symbol. A targeted symbol on such a short CD would be ridiculously OP – so they will have to increase the CD to accommodate.
About #1 – I think it would be interesting if the orb would slowly accelerate – slow when launched but increasingly gaining speed. Or, one could make it a chain skill, where each skill in the chain launches the same orb but at a different speed. First one would be the slowest, second one faster and the third one fastest. The idea here is that all orbs reach the enemy (at say, 900 range) at approximately the same time.
Scepters range is 1200. I would prefer homing projectiles.
I wouldn’t really like this idea. Almost every other mmorpg-game has that enchanting system and in the end everybody has a weapon that glows. No variety what so ever.
In the end everyone in Gw2 has a weapon that glows…. The problem is that it always has the same skin.
If I were to start a list whit all the different weapons that have particle effects; it would reach 3 pages. Yes, there are some weapons that glow and are fairly popular due to the fact that some are easy to get like ghastly weapons. Still the best looking ones are legendarys and mystic crafts that require great amounts of effort to acquire. Each weapon with particle effect is designed specially for the weapon in question and I think that is what makes them so special.
There are tons of great looking focuses in the game. Hammers are the ones that need new skins.
I wouldn’t really like this idea. Almost every other mmorpg-game has that enchanting system and in the end everybody has a weapon that glows. No variety what so ever.
It’s an incredibly temporary effect, and doesn’t matter enough to change.
I beg to differ. Seeing as we have passive aegis as an virtue that lasts over 9 hours… You will always have aegis when you are merely hanging out without engaging combat.
The problem with most guardians is that they try to play them like warriors. Guardians are at their peak with an organized group and a smart player.
Personally I think aegis looks awesome on flameseeker prophecies but I must agree that it does ruin a lot of shields. You can’t look totally “evil” for instance and more than just often, it ruins the style. Aegis needs to be re-modeled. With staffs it looks great tho.
I would like it if aegis created this glow on your body or something similar to focus #4.
Well I have played a guardian all my time in gw2 and I learn something new every day. I would never choose any other class over him. <3
I would suggest a message board in lions arch where people could put up their recruitment notes and also find new friends for map exploration. There could be this big database where you could freely type and it would open up a menu much like a forum. Different categories like: guild recruitments, “find a friend” and heck, even for an (ingame) partner.
-start RoW
-teleport to target and drop the ward.
-MB
-Binding blade and WW.
boost projectile speed by 50% and make smite a symbol. Problem solved. The #1 is the biggest and almost the only flaw.
Yes…Tomorrow to be exact. Wait for the patch notes.

My point is that other classes have unique abilities that have major weaknesses. Thieves have stealth where your only counter measure is to run around, blast aoe and hope you hit something.
So thief should be only class who’s unique ability should have counter? Thats sounds fair. How about we give everybody banish skill that can remove rangers pet for awhile? Or we give every class adrenaline drain ability? I could go on with this…
Guardians have wards. That’s their unique ability. Guess what: Stability.
Oh and let’s not forget blinks and mist forms among other means to escape.
Also not even one of our protecting wards is able to block AOE -field attacks.
Also “banish for ranger pets”? They keep banishing themselves all the time and run after enemies that are so far away that the ranger can’t even see them.

Agree +1
Imo guardians need to be able to use a bow and have the same dps as a worriar.
No. (playing guardian on main) I have learned a lot while playing a guardian and we do NOT lack DPS. We do NOT need better ranged skills (don’t need but it would be nice) and we certainly do NOT lose to warriors simply because they deal more damage. Guardian merely requires more thought in gameplay and builds. Yes, it sucks on zerg fights when we can’t do anything else but support or pick up drifters from other zergs but in the end we have pretty nice skills to support the WHOLE zerg.
If all classes had stealth counter, thieves would be kittenting bricks. Also it would give rangers some real meaning. Giving it to necros or engineers is not a bad idea eighter.
I think this is a great idea! Tho it should only affect the ranger himself. Otherwise thieves would become total sandbags in wvw and pvp. Introducing a new pet who could reveal stealthed enemies (like skelks and Irukandji) wouldn’t be too unrealistic. The effect could be party-wide in pve and pve only. Also it should only work for 1-2s or like a pulse that lasts for a blink of an eye. It would give the general direction where the thief is and not completely ruin their gameplay. The only problem is the targeting. Would the rangers be able to target and attack thieves when they are in stealth with other than AOE skills?

Stun breakers, teles, stability= profit?
I don’t think heart-seeker is as overpowered as people make it out to be. (I’m a guardian)
I don’t usually have to take more than 1 heart-seeker before I block, dodge, blind or knock them back. It wouldn’t hurt if its damage got reduced just a bit but as some1 said before: “thief is only OP against inexperienced players.” I enjoy dueling thieves because it’s thrilling. I know that if I can catch him with the ring of warding: I win. If they get 1 or 2 of their bursts in: they win. Thieves are usually very lightly built and thus can be destroyed with couple of well aimed MBs or WWs.
I use it because the only moments I end up healing myself is because I take alot of hits. I can prevent that with the heal. The heal plus the damage blocked is usually way higher than the signet.
I went to Durmand Priory and would have never gone anywhere else. QUAGGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANS!
Had this problem for ages now. More so after january. My connection is fine. I’m playing at home (Finland) and my system is in direct, wireless connection with our modem.
Sent support ticket and in the end after providing several reports and files I was advised to contact my internet provider. The support took my case seriously and helped as much as they could but the problem still remains. I would like to do fractals without dying of lag or DC all the time. Hope this is fixed by the end of this month.

Wao. That’s alot. ^^
That’s alot of critical damage. xD Might wanna fix that.
