I’m currently waiting to get the mats to upgrade my exotic version but what I want to know is, can I still equip this and later upgrade to the ascended?
I don’t want to equip this now and be stuck with it :/
Thanks
To the OP, housing sounds absurd (imo) and I only hope dev time isn’t spent on this.
In no particular order:
1) Visual effects overhaul I want to see those bosses and champs.
2) More dungeons
3) Added abilities and not utilities (for example. death strike for theives, npc health falls below 10 percent apply a crushing blow of 200 percent weapon damage idk
4) More on the personal story for role players
5) 64bit client version / engine upgrades
6)More armor skins/weapon skins
7) New playable class
8) More titles (all the cool ones are from playing Gw1)
9) Changing of weather in zones / footprints in the snow / npc’s fighting each other
10) AreNanET to give me all ascended gear and legendary weapons hehe

Thinking about purchasing it on STEAM. I was wondering if you can role this content solo as an RPG or does it still retain the MMo aspect where you need others to defeat xyz champion.
In Gendarran Fields, me and another player couldn’t capture one of the zones due to constant re-spawn of Harathi.
Ehmry Bay server.
Edit: even though Dwayna Terrace didn’t show “controlled” went over to the northern courtyard and caputred it and the event succeeded.

No.
I’d rather see dev time spent adding new dungeons, new zones, new classes, new abilities over the short term housing trend.
Sooooo after defeating the cynical and narcissistic scarlet I’m assuming we can confirm from the video clip our next boss will be a dragon?
As long as the story and transition into it is good, I’m liking the idea.
:)
—You have to love mmo’s man, it’s too easy or it’s too hard so nerf it—
I personally haven’t gotten past the hologram, what server are you on?! I would love to get the remainder of my achievements for this living story.
One thing I would like to see improved upon is the progression of your character from rare < exotic < ascended < legendary gear.
The visual effects are another issue I have and not being able to see the boss, champ, elite or whomever from a blob of light in large groups.
Adding a new class/race is a win/win.
Final blow (finishers) which I’m not a fan of. Wish it was an additional ability we could activate when the npc’s health falls below a certain percent. Unlocked at x level.
GW2’s weird quest system forces me to open up google and search for effective methods to lvl as I’d like to advance in the main storyline.
./facepalm Stopped reading after this… have you ever played a video game before?
Thanks for the replies and information!
Is it working correctly? I’m currently killing npc’s out in Diessa Plateau and I will sometimes receive 17xp plus 32xp (i’m assuming is the bonus) and other times just 17xp from kills.
Edit… I’m also noticing when I’m trying to deposit “all” collectibles (using the wheel icon in inventory) it doesn’t work. Currently right clicking on each item and doing it manually.

Having the ability to customize and move things around would be cool but what frustrates me is the blob of light on bosses, champs, etc and not being able to see them.
What time will it go live?
Also what the heck is she drilling in LA? Hopefully we will get some answers >> ? :0
QueenHysteria.1084A game that was the complete opposite of the grind life play style. You logged in with no sub, you made your character, followed the games main story, plenty of side quests, no focus on worrying about EXP bars or level caps." What has changed so much that you feel the need to worry about experience, or level cap?
This game has an excellent main story, plenty of side quests or events to take part in as well…..so why all of a sudden you feel the need to “grind” it out?
QueenHysteria.1084Playing the game was engaging most of the time but never a burden since I could just log off and come back to it anytime and be right where I left off."
How has this game become a burden? Why aren’t you able to log on and off and be right where you left off?
QueenHysteria.1084The biggest points of that game for me was the skill and class system
Never played he original GW and I’ve also heard good things about the class system too.
QueenHysteria.1084threw in all the grinds of your average MMO. The Exp bar, the achievement system, the crafting, the dungeon grind, the gear grind, the PVP grind, the PVE grind, the Auction house,The Guild system, etc. etc. etc.
All optional, optional, optional.
i really really like the WORLD in this game so gigantic full of amazing content. i can feel the intensity to the environment of the game its really cool but everytime im seeing my character doing this skill and this skill it felt like it doesnt suit to the environment it. no intensity, no life which makes me feel so sleepy im not enjoying it. its not funny please replace it.
I disagree and enjoy some of the animation and spells certain characters can do. Would I like to see more? Of course! The only thing that bothers me would be the fire condition applied to bosses…. it’s overkill! You can barely see the npc, boss, or champ when fighting because it’s nothing more than a blob of light.
Steam has “free to play” weekends on certain games when they have special prices or promotions. I don’t think Gw2 needs this but I do recommend selling the game via Steam.
(edited by Hopeless.5403)
I agree it’s one heck of a mmo/rpg but one thing I don’t understand is the game not being sold on STEAM. Browsing through the game list it shows previous Guild Wars but not this one……………. could see a nice boost in sales if you ask me.
Yes, it would be nice to customize zone specific music, city specific music, etc whilst keeping gw2 music there was well.
wow dude, never noticed this before, ever! ty for the info….
Pretty sure this is a sarcasm, so…
It is indeed kinda annoying, since most target utilities don’t go full cd if they’re out of range, so i guess it’s a bug. Or not? CMIIW
No, I truly didn’t know there was a red bar beneath the spells…… it is soooooo small.
Go into a PvE zone anywhere, target an enemy, and walk in and out of range. When you’re out of range, the skill icon will have a red bar underneath it. If that is the case, you will whiff the application and it will go on full cooldown.
Use the red bar. Never whiff again.
wow dude, never noticed this before, ever! ty for the info….
I know, ill try to move out of the 1202 range and back within 1200. hehe
Guess this doesn’t bother you waiting the full cd?
(edited by Hopeless.5403)
Anyone find it annoying when activating this signet on a boss, elite, or whomever and it says “out of range” only to wait the cd time to activate it again. It’s pretty frustrating to say the least.
Is there a way in options or something to prevent this from happening?
How lazy are you really? If you have gold it takes maximum 30 minutes for you to get your crafting discipline to 500.
450 maybe but from there on it’s pretty difficult since most items are account bound.
To the original post, Gw2 ‘imo’ did a great job with crafting from other games i’ve played. You should try it out…..
I didn’t know the “gift of blades” was the actual back piece. I thought it was just a component, I could be mistaken
It is just a component. You need it to make the Tempered Spinal Blades.
Yes i know, it was a little sarcasm on my side. The materials used to make gift of blades for an Armorsmith are also used to make items in Artificing.
I didn’t know the “gift of blades” was the actual back piece. I thought it was just a component, I could be mistaken
Artificers! wtf?
I was told to start an alt… awesome alternative. Just killed my plans trying to obtain a certain back piece!!
Lag is all I can figure then. If it’s a player, and they use a stunbreak during their flight animation, they can cancel it but it just drops them on their feet wherever they are rather than back at their original location. NPCs don’t have stunbreaks that I know of.
No, I don’t use in pvp / wvw. Currently I’m just leveling the character doing pve stuff….
If it continues I’ll try and grab a vid of it and post it on the forums. Ty for the info!
btw nice guardian thread you’ve posted.
Do you have Ring of Warding up? They’ll be knocked back, but get stuck on the Ring instead of flying to the full extent of the spell.
No I usually don’t use the ring spell. It’s weird, they fly the full extent but find it instantly back at its original location. Could be lag I guess??? It doesn’t happen every time.
(edited by Hopeless.5403)
Banish spell I’ve noticed the npc or target will be knocked back but then it will reappear at its original location. Is this intended?
GW3 would be epic
I haven’t heard anything about the possibility of new skills but if someone has a link, I would like to read up on it
Thanks for the reply and information! I’m sure you’re right that there’s so much animation going on it’s just hard to see. Which brings up another discussion entirely

We are at war and our city was destroyed … deal with it!
I’m sure sometime in the near future when the dust has settled and Tryia has found a new hub we may see something similar to LA. In the mean time it shouldn’t be that big of a deal to travel to another major city (ill answer: no it’s not).
Could someone help me understand the massive damage that these guys are dishing out to players. My combat log shows them dealing in excess of 15k damage randomly (once hit for 42k). Is there some time of animation to show players when they are about to drop a nuke?
For role playing it may seem cool but tbh all it adds is not enjoyment but work playing a video game.
ewwww give necros an armor set that is drenched in blood with skulls dangling from their chest piece
Cool story bro … im sure those better games include Call of Duty Ghosts lol
To me there really isn’t one other than their annoying crippling effects and snares as your running around in Tyria . Also, maybe some of the things they constantly say like the undying of ‘more come here.’
Wish there were some type of indicator(s) as I’m running around Tyria being chased by Shrieksy.
k, ty for the info
Sometimes I’ve noticed a red circle on the ground around my player and I was wondering if this is an indicator for picking up aggro from a npc?
Noob question, yes.
Opening the Gw2 folder in my documents/music it is empty. Shouldn’t there be a list of city music, ambient, etc where I can remove/add certain music?

Lucky, no email for me yet
Yes ty ty ty
BTW have they updated color skins on the new armor yet? Can we change them >>>?
lulz only game that has consistently lost players more than ever is WoW. Merging 2-3 servers and they are still a wasteland… kind of funny how they’ve introduced the in-game store for players which I’m sure will soon include the purchase of lvl 90 characters lulz
Regarding this game maybe you should hit up relevant content like Escape from LA where players are currently enjoying the living story…. I’m sure you’ll find players
Didn’t read but I think i will pass on mounts. Absolutely nothing wrong with waypoints….. learn to use them.
Agree
Attack Cinematic, well done!
Great update guys ty
My guess is when GW3 is release
I actually like how they tie in crafting with ascended armor. Yes it is difficult and agree that some players don’t like this but at the same time there are players who don’t like doing only dungeons to obtain higher gear. So I guess the question is, how do you find a balance between the two?
