Oops – what I said earlier – that the world transfer populations are based on the total membership – was true yesterday. Today we shipped a feature that shows the membership based on activity. My changes are in, but I’m not claiming they are the cure to all lag. There was just a few issues that I fixed, but one in particular was really bad when a map had been open for a while. So I’m hoping that the map should remain consistent during its full lifetime, and not have its performance steadily degrade over time.
Still, I’d be curious of how your experience is compared to pre-patch over the next few days.

bro ty for your work, but on EU tonight in 3 way (almsot full zones) had lags today all ppl from guild. Just skill dellays and a bit rubberish.
We have often outnumbered in prime time so our population is actually medium or low.

By far the most damaging thing ever to WvW was the lenghty free transfers that completely clumped all the wvw players into a very small pool of servers.

Our guild has around 15/20-30 people onto Black Gate. It’s slowly been opening up as people have been transferring off (the new YB bandwagon). Over time we’ve been getting people in by camping the transfer screen for a few hours. Understand these people are slowly coming back to the game after not playing at release and want to just come check out the game with their friends. However now it seems that’s pretty much never gonna work anymore because BlackGate is active enough in WvW that it’ll never open up. This leaves majority of us on the server with few people off who can never participate. Before there was at least hope they’d get in, now it sounds like it’s basically non-existent. Asking us to transfer 15 people off to play with 5 others is ridiculous.
Dislike this decision immensely.
so you and your guilds will need to transfer the hell out and it’s good.
some will suffer of that but it’s not more then 10%, WvW overall got only benefits of that.

You are correct Hvaran, sadly I dont think Anet will have any solid algoritm. They just wont exclude pve players of it.
But i hope they will surprise me and servers like Blacktide, Underworld, FoW will be marked as low.
they can have data, ahd they can just use it as – how many players logged in wvw during week, any other data will be hardly viable, because u can’t say that 1 server got more people then other playing wvw just becuse they have army of unemployed tryhards playing 14 hours a day and other server has different people logging in and out.
WvW Population is that ppl that log in and out and not tryhards, so if the wvw wil lbecome interesting then people from server that had people playing less hours but had more people will play more hours and if before it took in account only how maps are filled it wouldn’t show the excact population.
But taking in account smth like avrg hours/week and delete out of wvw population those who spend less then 2-3 hours it would mby fix some issues with people slightly iterested in wvw but just bangwagoning here and there to make “daily”.
Well if medium is 500, tehn low should be free. And medium should be servers that at least once a week can queue up one map.
Low should be servers that dont have a queue whole week.

IF u decide population on servers just by if they have queue during week or no u doing it wrong.
If u spread 30 ppl on 4 maps 6 hours a day it will be more then if some has 40 man jumping around the map whole week and then on reset having queue on ebg
it’s not only about queues, it’s jsut data that u can seewithout beeing in anet cabine.

I did pvp, but mostly not because of event. WvW is in a sad state for a longer time then that 1 week that people qqd about.
I’m neutral to this event, was fun to see alot of golems all arround, wasn’t fun sometimes fighting vs golems, othwerise it was fine.
Walking in and out of Ring of Fire stacks too much (and too long) burn stacks.

I can totally see DPS Revenant being a thing, even if theoretical dps is still way lower then Warrior/Guardian/Elementalist.
The problem is that Revenant is not going to have much more survivability. It’s going to be kill before getting killed.
Tank Revenant won’t be possible if things don’t change.

i think one of the biggest issues that we haven’t seen much active defencive mechanics on Rev yet
teef – stealth, blind
guard – blinds and block+invurn
engi- blocks, heals, good CC
mesm – blinds, stealth, invurn, block (omg STAPH)
ele – blind, inurn, reflect block (wth)
warrio – inurns (stances), stabs, blocks
ranger – signet, evades
necro – oops…
seems rev will be like necro in this case if it won’t add bigger ammount of active def abilities, though need futher testing of what u already guys chancged (because as i udnerstood you worked ALOT on it)
But without some kind of decent defencive/evasive mechanics u can’t make it good pvp dps class.

I put together a fix for a pretty nasty performance issue on our game servers. This should make it into our next release so I’d be curious to see if it makes a noticeable improvement. The bug looks like it was introduced around when this thread popped up.
I also got a couple client improvements that should help reduce framerate hitching with lower-mid range video cards and/or higher shader settings. Coming next release, too.

Yea I was thinking of the ESL before last and not this last week against Sympol Life. But he didn’t play MM , he played cele sig, what he norm runs
last match on legacy of foefire he was playing MM, running with 5 minions, the match where sumbol could tkae it down with lord, lord was 10-15% when time was over.
elixir s, then burn them on fire till they stunlock you and try to r*pe again. That’s the only way I was able to win halfdecent mesm tbh.
but in pvp there are alot of FOTM mesmers that doesn’t know how to play yet

5) Remove conditions. Mortar 4 can also be used for a condi cleanse since it’s a light field. Mortar 1 is a 100% projectile finisher, which works well with this. Throw Wrench also is 100% projectile finisher.

It does not work well, just because it’s a bit bugged currently.
By the idea you need to shoot target in melee range to remove condis through lifhgt field projectile, but on practice it doesn’t works always (tested it 2 weeks ago) so during the actual combat it can mess you up more then help
when i join match and i see Prince Vingador (on my side) already raged how bad is our team, before the game actually started.

i had 3 out 5 games yesterday with most people running bunker builds necros, eles and guards.
there are some classes that can burst pretty efficiently and fast but it’s not dice game AT ALL at this state.

imobs and stuns are still there.
some fixes are in need for a few sets of off hand weapons is
- sword (currently in BEST spot thought, but) #5 is good, nothing needed to be changed.
- could be improved as mentioned above – pull, leap etc or make RADIUS of ripost skill bigger, so people will be able to get out their sword with bigger chance or leap 300-400 range to 200 radius and pull the sword out enemie with higher dmg or some effect like daze would be good
- axe, currently weakest secondary weapon the skill #5 doesn’t give you much dmg as 100bl even with MAX dmg multipliers (forcefull gs for gs and axe mastery for 2 axes) but got pretty long casting time and u can get retaliation back with more dmg, or make it reflect projectiles as thief’s stolen whirling axe. #4 could have bigger dmg because of 2 axes involved etc
-mace, #4 stack vurn #5 knockdown projectile…not bad i would say i’ts #4 in list after shield, warhorn adn sowrd. but still kinda goes out of pvp meta (still in pve meta because of invurn), because other options bringing more on a table.
- shiled – meta. nothing needed to change. it’s balanced.
- warhorn – metaaaaaOUT. why nerf?
need to make it 5 ICD still!!! so you can proc it at maximum echarge rate and won’t abuse with sigil of stamina.
but tbh switching this trait with the one in stemalines kits seems better option for me and making this one doulbe blast finisher can be without damage then can live it 10s ICD cause magnetic bomb pull on dodge potentialy can be too strong

i liked the idea of stronghold, but i agree on point that it’s too much pve in there still.
Poison Nades had their damage buffed to match Chill, they can do 4500 damage to glassy people combined. Grenade Barrage & Nade spam is very key with buffed Vulnerability. Really though, what I attempt to do each fight is roll the dice for Rampage and really hit it home. A Marauder Amulet class Rampage with Air/Fire and chance on hit to proc Rockets, it’s a scary thing m8

Some “top team players” actually running those amulets though…
Marauder – beats it all with 4 kits or gk tk mk elixir s/eg expl 111 alc 221 tools 31 1/2.

Perma swiftness – ok
Stealth – ok
Pull the target – ok
Push the target – ok
Heavy condition damage – u wot m8?
Good ranged damage – u wot m8?
Insane healing – ok
Perma regen – no.
Perma vigor – ok
Insane kite mechanic – no.
Engi shield has lower cooldown on block than guardian and warrior, unbelievable. – ok
He trasnform people into MOA, really Anet?? – y for 3s with toss elixir skill
He gets WARRIOR’S rampage on a much LOWER cooldown, the damage? Is almost the same. – he gets or rampage or tornado ORNG
It’s tanky as hell – with soldier/cele y
He goes twice in less than 20 secs into the mini-form being invunerable to everything… – vampirism runes meta, everyone can use.
He cleanses condies very often. – u wot m8? he clenases them with elixirs and heal skill.So, Engineers can do EVERYTHING and they do everything very very well.
In good hands like Chaith, it shows how broken engies are – no it doesn’tRemove the moa, rampage, shield and invulnerable from this class and it may balance things out. – remove engis!!!
Also engies has zero cooldown on kits, give Eles no cooldown on attunements too. ahahahahaha
engis are in pretty average spot currently, below mesmer, ele, guard, even new signet necro spec is pretty good at what it does.
the patch really hurt engi, mostly because it changed them significatly, currently i’m struggling in finiding the build that would like to play in pvp/wvw.
Most issues i have are with some traits. With this changes we are forced to choose whole trait line and not some first part of it and some lines just doesn’t have much options to choose from.
Engineers is not that easy class. But my dissapointment mostly goes to top engi players who jus taking previous version of the build they where running it and updating it a bit…kinda sad to see them not testing any new stuff that came out and possible can be more viable then old meta (pvp wise mostly)
Why i bring this up now? Because of the golem thing. Why, instead of a silly gimmicky thing, didn’t you add a tournament?
tournaments failed miserably. It brought UNHEALTHY competition to game and brought UNHELATHY mindset to people.

ugh, can we get 10% damage back of the mortar. i really want to ditch nades, but the tiny bombs coming out of the car sized barrel my charr engineer holds just don’t cut it as a nades replacement. mortar with its bugged finishes and hardly better than rifle damage isn’t up to replacing nades. maybe the class should be renamed to ‘grenadier’ with nades as the primary weapon and rifle and p/s and kits?
if they fix at least bugged minor traits in explosive then it will get 10% dmg increase…i really would like to see that together with projectile fixes.

yes it’s kinda messy and buggy and unpredictable in some parts but it’s a fresh air to combat system that i enjoy alot(not ele trait but i’m just beiing metaphoric).
was hyped prepatch and it still didn’t dissapointed me (apart of war changes…qq yet, need to find out how to play it now)

FSP PvDoored like evry keep with insane speed and farmed SFR and Deso insanely. Really need to fix this, cause this is no fun anymore.

but actually bois are telling truth, this massive AOE boon (15-30 people AOE by 1 skill) works everywhere not only in wvw but it effects wvw massively, i don’t know if it’s intendet to fix all the stab change issues etc but it’s really creates unhealthy and uncompetitive environment.

Elixir Gun – 4 (acid bomb) doesn’t removes conditions while u have aclhemy specialization ON, though it suppose to do so according to grandmaster (3) minor trait in that line.
Elixir Gun -5 (Super Elixir) removing only 1 condition when u have alchemy line on aswell.
Seems same with Automatic Elixir S trait (master in alchemy), at least it doesn’t says in tooltip that it has condi removel ability.
