i bet they already have that expansion all wrapped up and ready to launch at the press of a button. theyre holding it back because they want to show something exclusive at those conventions. assuming its functional, they’ll prob release it shortly after

Engi is my main, but i never player full turret bunker(lie – i tried few times to see how OP is it, and i played it frequently in hotjoin 2 years ago, while been learning the class).
I would suggest a huge YES for condition beeing aplied to turrets, it’s an awesome idea and it will make it countarable.
On another point if u will apply both suggested changes you should think then of buffing healing skills (except healing turret ofc) and elite skills, because currently there are very very few builds outside of supply crate+healing turret.
Thanks alot for this thread though, as i become more frequently playing pvp, the turret engi seems too strong for amount of effort that putted in to play it.

ok. I would like to share the build that i’m using currently for some days and listen to critiques aswell.
i know it looks very awkward, but i just was ruynning condi war enjoyed it and wanted to try something different from meta builds especially out of healing singet.
the healing skill idea is I cleanse 6 condis overall (yes it works together, i tested with singet of spite)
while elite will convert 5 condis into boons.
and ofc cleansing ire that works not bad with hammerstun..
switching arround dodge march-missle deflection-increased stance duration
defy pain switching to Brawler’s Recovery – but ussually not needed much.
the biggest problems i had is the unussual cast time of skills that needed to use as warri (shouts, stances are instat almost all so i used to them)
while my condi cleanse is all active, non passive or in normal rotation of instant cast spells.
the flurry+stunlock combo is pretty strong
mobility is not good enough though, that’ why i would maybe switch to lb, swiftness on hit as an option, that i want to try out

This topic will continue to come up while players still don’t understand the basic mechanics of the game. Ignorance is a bad thing.
As long as players continue with their “there is only one role”, as long as they can’t distinguish between a gear type and a build (build != gear) and as long they can’t understand how Support and Control works in the game, we will get post like this one.
Are you saying that stats are not main part of the build? There are so many different stat sets , but everyone use zerker, so there s problem.

While I agree that dungeuon mechanics should be tweaked to make smth excpet zerk best, but it’s same as I would say tha they should nerf condicleanse so I could blob up with my condi necro in wvw and plague another blob (while it will break all other gamemodes).

while overall….i like the idea of this change in pvp, smallscale, eliteskills etc but….the kittened up zerging as it is will become even more boring…
I would like to have at least offencive AOE cap risen to 10-15 max…then maybe it will become more fun in wvw, while stab change will make it so awfull in large scale wvw…it will become Counter Strike, walls of Erection everywhere, engi pull and wires.
What i know for sure…15+ vs 15+ fights….You push first=>you are dead, it is ALMOSt like that right now, but with stab change i don’t think i will ever enjoy the new wvw battles.

i laughed my kitten when ranger in pvp popped signet of stone and rampage as one against my condi war (was 3v3 situation, but i was ON him apart from a party) and gave him kitttten of condis that he couldn’t do anything with =))
but to OP…rangers is kind of normal NPCs nowadays in wvw.

They said they will start preparing beta after PAX East and Rezzed not that beta is coming straight after. So thats bit more than few weeks
April is just bit too hopeful. I mean with projected profits having a huge spike in 3rd quarter of the year.
they where saying it in different ways tbh, but saying that beta will follow “very fast” after pax is 100%.
I don’t know the business part of the game and best possible profit when to release, I’m just saying AS competitive player from wvw+pvp (occasianally pve…but can’t enjoy it much) that is kinda fed up and bored with current meta, and knowing that new meta will come (specializations, new classes, new condis, new boons – i’m very excited about the changes), I feel like they leaving us to play with broken toy while keeping the fixed one for longer for their own reasons.
Kind of gaem is in the most ded state for me atm as an player that have spent alot of time in competitive part of this game.
the range of people’s level and dedication is very high in ranked arena, so basically
range of FUN that you can have in pvp IS HUGE
PLAYERS HAVING FUN=DOLLARS (got the point ; )
….one day i can be ranked with low expirience peopleor those who doesn’t want to communicate even on start, sometimes it goes very good and decent matches.
the matchmaking system need some fixes though.
- more rewards for your efforts? so people will take ranked arena moer serious? tweaking it in the way that for ex-le more silver coins for win (50) and less for loss (5) while keeping unrakned arena the same, so people wn’t just go ranked to try to farm there.
- delete some premade combinations from matchmaking like 1112vs5 or 11111vs5 for ex-le, i know it can affect queues alot, BUT…there is a big BUT, better matchmaking system will attract more people overall and those frustrated soloers (like i sometimes aswell) back to pvp itselfe so the choice for matchmaker will be weider, so basically it should compensate.
- daily class play? I don’t care about dalies, like at all (only if the class that is in daily, i KNOW how to play and i WANT to then i do it, maybe, if i spot etc) but when i get 3 rangers in team i feel like…well…bad that i can’t start queueing straight to next game from this one…i know in some way it makes people to play different classes and try their alts, and maybe like another class, but on another hand it ruins the fun for other people that want to play with some dedicated people
- build templates can save ALOT for pvp aswell, cause sometimes it’s not enough 1 minute to change your entire build when you see it doesn’t fit at all against enemie comp or you can’t swap class and fastly change your build either.

As they said HOT is not only alot of content itselfe but the way in wich the game will envelope in future – adding new maps, specializations, so maybe pack itslefe will not be that huge, but will change the game itselfe, change competitive meta for sure and will open new “kind” of content and character progression, wich makes it easier for them to make it pretty fast (as they work on it for long, i’m taking in account) and just add more and more content depending on crowd feedback and not just adding tones of content half of wich will be downvoted.

After release they should focus on 1 thing – balance for next 3 month at least, and only after it some “new big stuff”

On another hand…when i will get it, the things that i’m curious of and will go to test in first will be in this priority i guess
- specializations (Hammer ENGI WHOORAY, i don’t udnerstand all that hobosack crying about at all, too much attention to on that point, y it’s not best look bla bla, but on another note, it’s so perifery problem… wanna see new warriors, guards and NECROS)
- new boons, conditions and basically all changes to combat meachanics, very hyped about it (stability revamp <3 <3)
- stronghold/new borderlands in wvw (interested in both on same level)
- global wvw changes
- global pvp changes
- revenent ( I already know how i will call it and decided a style for him etc, collecting gold atm for char slot etc, got bags scroll and tomes ready, will try it out for sure, but i don’t think i will like that class that much tbh)
- pve
- living story (i will definetly try it out….in half a year after pack? or in a year maybe? Talking salads never attracted me that much.., sorry)
So basically i’m not one of those types of people you talking about.
There are players in game that like to play
- competitive pvp
- wvw
- pve
And those divide on different categories such as hc/not hc(hardcore)=casual, solo/social, for wvw it can differ alot aswell scouts/fighters/blobber/gvgers/blobmanders/karmatrainers(FSB #1 forever)/dramaqueens
For pve can divide aswell on some dungeuoneers/AP hunters(the most kittened set of mind that i will never take as healthy one, like some zombie apocalypse, or i’m back in school where nerds wanna get 5 for doing something not fun not healthy not productive not beneficial and they just want the number written somehwere)/gold farmers/world event lovers etc etc
For pvp it can be divided on engi with terette syndrome and everyone else.
2 types? nono. 5-20 types looks more realistic.

There was red post in forums that they are not focused on creating seperate game mode for GvG (as 15v15/20v20/10v10 deathmatch).
Though i remember aswell that after last CDI (in november 2014 i guess) they said that next CDI will be about GvG and suddenly CDIs stopped to apear =))
I guess CDI is not going to happen at best.
i’m against mounts in gw2.
it’s a cool feature, but i do not see it as a good addition to current traveling system that gw2 has.

Once when i was leading a guy whispered me that he needed a POI in some enemie tower, i asnwered “10 gold”. It was some paper or t1-2 tower so i went for it just to keep it flipped and when i did opened it, i got a mail with 10 gold from that guy =)
For all the guys that doing map completition in wvw and braging about it – i will go to your fractal 50 last boss with friend and kick you all from dungeuon.
Need completition – go for it, but it’s open pvp zone and be ready to get pvp’d in chat and ingame by other players =)))
or better go cry to remove that completition from wvw, cause y i agree it’s kinda annoying sometimes for both sides of conflict.

7v7, 8v8 or 10v10 though, to make more small 2v2, 3v3 fights but not ocassianoal 1v1 + mobs.
wvw torunaments was a big fail. Anet stopped with them – good decision. Roling out tournaments pre exp[ansion beta will not be wise.

I watched the stream twice.
- I really enjoyed the map mechanics and liked it comlex structure (while ofcourse final decision i will be able to make when i will play it myselfe);
- I didn’t heard anything about 5v5 or same queue with conquest, but if it is, i’m in crowd of those who says NO for both.

half of the questions about ebg?) the map where any your activity is ussualy most useless, GG.
1. There is a trick, but actually u can throw it on same place from above aswell, trowing it with your “trick” just makes it easiear to aim for best spot though. So the question is quit tricky.
2. It’s too poisition and siege dependent question and if it’s about groups of 40+ then u need 2 awesome mesmers.
3. Answer – " What is ts" =))))))))
4. Kinda long answer can apear on that, cause it’s aswell dependent a bit on keep and what force you and enemie has on this map or map jump. But that’s the only ok one question i guess.
5. Again ebg tower. EB is most selfesustained map ever, if he doesn’t know much about some certain towers attacking etc on that map doesn’t mean anything bad about him.

2nd one build that elesse pointed out is what i currently run in wvw, traits+skills, rarely in pvp, because jaggernaut is broken and doesn’t give armor unless u got some other sources of additional armor (food, bloodlust, sin etc)
i run hoelbrak and celestial though, and battle+cleansing sigils, works pretty good until i go pvp where the armor addition is not there, + no oil, so crit chance drop very low.
ft got tones of utilities and can have good output combined dmg if u use it in a right way, but pvp stats doesn’t allow me to make it as effective as it is in wvw.
2 questions that burning for me.
- ammount of people in each team 5v5?10v10?
- influence of pve content on pvp side of a map.
