Infamous Darkness.3284

That is definitely how it seems to be used in EotN but this is from the wiki that makes me think it must have multiple aspects or something “The Great Dwarf is the patron god of the Dwarves. It is said that when the Great Dwarf still walked on the world of Tyria, he used Anvil Rock as his forge, and at another time used the Anvil of Dragrimmar to forge weapons with the strength of the Dwarven people and shields as unbreakable as their collective will. Ages ago, the Great Dwarf battled against the Great Destroyer and in order to defeat the creature, stole its name and sealed it within the Tome of Rubicon. It is also said that when he left Tyria, he traveled to the Great Forge that lies within the Rift and currently rules there.”

Infamous Darkness.3284

What do we know about this figure? Was it a mighty dwarf, or more long the lines of demigod or god for it to have faced the great destroyer? Is/Was its strength comparable to one of the human gods? It is shown to be something between a shared consciousness once the ritual is completed. The wiki says it makes the dwarves who undergo the ritual immortal (I’m guessing that means they just won’t die of natural causes). If its strength is comparable to a human gods that would mean that Elder dragons>6 gods since the great Dwarf’s struggle was with the great destroyer not even Primordius itself.

Sorry lots of speculation and questions on this one.

Time to return that area of Ascalon to a wasteland…Later the children will ask “was it worth it, was the destruction of one man worth the destruction caused to this land that will remain for generations”, and their parents will answer “yes my child its only a shame we couldn’t get that Trahearne fellow too”.

I don’t believe this would work either as most of the charr legions have given up magic or look upon it with disdain or distrust, but they are attacked by the branded creatures all the same. I believe the only charr you will even find in the brand (the sentinels) are all shown to be warrior type npcs so no magic used there, but they are still under attack. Not to mention if your plan did work and magic was removed from Tyria the charr would have a huge advantage of power over the other playable races.

In Gw1 Duncan the Black attempts to harvest the power of the Great Destroyer, what method was used for trying to attempt this. Is this a possible way that Balefire became a “god”, by harvesting the power of destroyers to increase his own magic, could this be used by other factions, and why haven’t we heard of anyone besides Duncan the Black doing this? Is the Great Destroyer still an untapped power source that could be used to drastically increase a factions power/magical ability, or will this just cause them to transform as Kudu did.

@Edusd yes it does give them some reasoning to join up with the dredge as they may have been feeling a bit cornered but if their alliance is defeated, as they have taken several losses in the destruction of their weapons plants, could the alliance’s/scarlet’s defeat be the final straw that completely breaks the flame legion’s will to fight and destroys the moral of their soldiers. Thus brining them under Smodur’s control. I absolutely agree that in their current state they wouldn’t be willing to join the alliance or serve under Smoder, but as his list of enemies shrinks his power will grow not to mention the advances in technology made by his legion.

Killed Imperator Balefire
Killed 3 Tribunes I believe (path 1 CoF [the guy making the searing effigy], path 3 tribune, and the one that is killed in south central fireheart rise)

With there only being 10 tribunes at a time and assuming no new tribunes have been appointed at best for them they would be down to 7 tribunes and no imperator. Imagine if this was the US government it would be similar to the president, Secretaries of Agriculture, Commerce, Defense all being killed it would leave huge areas of the nation vulnerable. Unification of the Legions

Infamous Darkness.3284

Sorry this got a bit long winded

Smodur the Unflinching as the imperator of the Iron Legion and the holder of the Claw of the Khan-Ur is in a good position to unify the legions with threats from ebonhawk mainly gone (there are still some separatists), and ghost born musket making the ghosts take longer to reform. He is progressive in comparison to other Charr legions imperators as he allows other species to enter into the black citadel, while still not being foolish about it (the explosives set around the asura portal. With his power, influence, might, cunning, bloodline, and artifact he may have attained most of the things he would need to unite the legions. he has had his list of enemies reduced through Balefire’s death and the weakening of the flame legion, while allowing the vigil to use resources to fight the flame legion and dredge alliance. his only fully functioning enemy is the brand with this all in mind do we think that if he unites the legions will he bring the flame legion back into the fold something that has value they can add to his military/conquests, or crush them. To me I think he will bring them back into the fold as he shows his willingness to forgive past enemies by allowing them to enter the black citadel, I mean humans, they could also prove to be a major asset in the future to the charr legions.

What are your opinions about how this situation could work out?

I think you’re article says the exact opposite of the point you are trying to get across.
1) it says that these games “Neverwinter” specifically was a game that was released while saying it was in beta, this was done by selling in game items to customers while giving the excuse that it was in beta still to avoid criticisms.
2) Gw2 does not says its in beta so basically this whole article was wrong and it’s highlighted in the article when they say "On the other hand, games that use Minecraft-like models such as Steam’s Early Access program (where a paid pre-order grants access to early, in-development versions of the game) don’t evoke the same reaction. Those are clearly communicated as unfinished, generally have specific launch dates in sight, and players get the full game for their money whenever it comes out. " This applies to the way GW2 was released you could buy the game before release and have access to all the beta weekends up to the time the game would be released…So maybe I’m wrong here but I’m guessing you’re trying to say GW2 is still in beta, and if that is the case I don’t see how this article supports your theory, in fact I think it goes against what I believe you to be saying.

Using Weapons such as Handwraps, daggers, bows, and staff (yes I know that daggers, and bows don’t fit perfectly but they would definitely need some variety.) Has F1 and F2 abilities, F1 a more group support stance, ex. one skill could be place a mark on an enemy for 10seconds doing X damage, whenever an ally hits this marked target they gain back Y health. F2 could have more abilities focused around weakening an enemies defenses against certain attacks and doing more damage ex. one skill could be place a mark on an enemy for 5 seconds target enemy takes 20% more Fire Damage… and other abilities similar to this. This way it would play a bit like an Ele but relying more on the party members to hit said target or do something specific rather than the ele using healing rain on them or something of the sort.

Thank you for all the feedback with this in mind here is a another option of how it could work.

Going more along the lines of the guild wars 1 assassin having combinations, but not in the way of combo fields.
VERSION 2
Use a bar similar to the warriors adrenaline except that it would refill much faster1/2 of a bar (5bars total) for each hit that lands F1 your next attack becomes your lead attack it consumes 2 bars of “focus” and does 10% more damage,F2 your next attack becomes your off hand attack use 1 bar of “focus” and does 25% more damage, F3 your next attack becomes your dual attack and hits twice. F4 use all of your bars of focus gaining 50% faster attack speed for 1 second for each bar of focus used, while also gaining a debuff “you’re wide open” that you lose 50% of you armor while your 50% increased attack speed is going on.

P.S. thank you TheSwede.9512 for your focus and energy idea.

Ok I like that you are saying that there would be no way to gain initiative until the skill was used. I am still worried about the burst this could do from a range where you cant be touched, just keep thinking of WvW 2 thieves in all zerk gear using shadow refuge before the shot with 25 in shadow arts, 30 in critical strikes for hidden killer (auto crit coming out of stealth) and assassin’s signet with signets of power allowing an autocrat from 2100 range? with 15 stacks of might (10 from the stacks of might from shadow refuge, and 5 more from activating assassin’s signet) and 15% more damage from the assassin’s signet active ability. I don’t know it just seems to me that 2+ thieves using this skill in conjunction makes it far too dangerous.

You see though the problems are the range which could be greater than any other skill in the game, matched with thieves best mobility in the game, matched with the insane damage you have given this 5 skill makes it far too OP. With this skill you have essentially made a class that when used in a pair could kill ppl in wvw with no chance for them to respond, for these reasons.
1) with the +200 range for ever extra initiative used bring u 2100 max range? not to mention traits such as infusion of shadow that another theif, engi, Mesmer could apply to you to boost the range up to 2500? now I know you said that initiative regeneration would stop when you are using this skill so im still assuming that since infusion of shadow isn’t “initiative regeneration” that it would still work. Can you see now how this would be an incredible issue to be doing such a large amount of damage to enemies from possibly over double their max range? This could easily be used by multiple thieves in conjunction to kill enemies before they have any chance to respond because they wouldn’t be able to get anywhere near you before they were killed/downed.

can add more to this argument but I think this is the most glaring problem

I agree on a few of these points while disagreeing on others

a) #5 on the harpoon gun moves faster than enemies by quite a bit when their in combat, I know I generally only use it to set up bursts
b) #2 harpoon gun yes it isn’t as great from a distance that’s why you maximize its effectiveness by using it in melee

These were the main ones that I was talking about being great

c) yes I understand that Mesmer, Ranger, and Engineer are all very good underwater, I have one of every class at 80. This all being said maybe the only reason I feel it is overpowered is because I main an engineer and generally wont lose underwater unless it is 4+v1

d) yes the spread on grenades is ridiculous how far off they can be. (I still usually use elixir U, grenade kit, and tool kit underwater…sometimes toolkit gets switched out)
e) is there any other class besides engineer, mesmers, and rangers again that has a reflect underwater (I believe the rangers have a reflect through the reef drake’s underwater skill).

Between scattermines from the harpoon gun 2 at melee range and grenade barrage, I don’t know if I have ever seen a profession survive this combo (when done correctly) not to mention that our 5th skill on harpoon is an immobilize that sets this combo up perfectly. So mainly I guess what I’m getting to is Anet I’m ok with all the bugs we engies get as long as you give us an niche where we are the best and I would like that to stay as underwater (P.S. pls no nerfs to engi underwater when DSD content is released.)

interesting ideas, but if you use the #4 or #5 skills I think you would need to get the revealed debuff after using them, and upon activation, not the whole time its being used would have to give off some visual trigger. I also don’t see the close range weakness in this I would actually think of this as more of a strength (especially in Spvp) you could do a massive burst using the 5 skill from rifle get up and use roll for inititive or other ways to quickly regain initiative and follow it up with 2+ hearseekers (after switching to dagger pistol or dagger dagger) would make this a dangerous very possibly OP burst.

I would have to agree sadly it look like they wont ever be in guild wars 2, the last time we see one in GW1 is during War in Kryta and it appears to be being dissected by an asura. (they were my favorite race in the Guild Wars universe too), but path 4 of arah/seer path gives at least a bit of information on them.

For the Oddbodies quest in GW1 that end with you stopping the summoning of a powerful demon known as the “unseen”, where was he/she being summoned from and why if it was a demon was there any need to summon it assuming it was in the realm of torment?

I main an engineer as well bud and I prefer grenade kit as it has a high skill floor so I can always get better at predicting an enemies movements.

This all being said bomb kit is higher damage than grenade kit, (for power builds) generally applies less stacks of vulnerability, the #1 bomb skill should hit harder than any grenades skills other than #2, #4, and the toolbelt skill grenade barrage ( yet again for power build)

SUGGESTION FOR YOU
if you want to try a zerk build that doesn’t focus on a kit I would suggest you look into a static discharge build using toolbelt skills that target enemies, have no cast time or near none, and a quick recharge. This type of build will allow you to do some pretty amazing single target burst damage, while also relying a bit on your rifle with little to no use in your kits. (suggested utilities, Tool kit its got a projectile from its toolbelts skill so will work well with static discharge, it also has a 3 sec block on a 20 sec cooldown non traited, rifle turret as your second utility as it is also a single target projectile ect., and finally last one id say is dealers choice.)

hopefully this helps sorry got a bit long winded.

elite 12 man inkittenancekittenhe realm of torment as a whole, the feeling of the area was amazing, in comparison it made orr look like a desert wakitteneland that wasn’t all too impressive it didn’t give anywhere near the same feeling as RoT, and the Domain of Anguish in the RoT was a great part, it brought in a really dark climate, while the workitten we see of orr seemkitteno be the pact commander that becomes a risen and attacks its comrades in malchors leap… ju kitten disappointing.

so the letters S and T cant be toghether??

SD is static discharge its is a 10 point trait in the tools line that shoots out a small electrical bolt whenever you use a toolbelt skill, it is generally used in combination with toolbelt skills that have little to no cast time while selecting a single target, it is often used with rifles for a more Power build then condition damage. it can make for a large burst of damage as it has no internal cool down.

hope that help you
