The loss of Hman’s build and the restructuring of our damage to grandmaster just means you will not use axe much anymore, which makes me sad. We took a big raw damage nerf with the leaks. I think hammer will be better with the shorter after casts and I can manage quarter knocking better. But overall they did what people asked for. Nerf damage and increase survival by making defense tree better.
What I don’t like is that now instead of giving us the option to go for survival or damage its basically you must go survival. Going 30 points for heightened focus and power trait was a little extreme I think.
Warrior still won’t be OP, but us guys can definitely find a playable spot now.
Too lazy to make new builds until the changes are finally published, but I will be playing hammer that is like 75% certain now
Interesting, much lowered war dps for some survivability. Could mean the hammer warrior will be strong. so happy for this, I can have my gw1 play style back.
Oh cool, welcome to the club.
If you want to start a team up K-Pop, I have a really good engineer that you might like to have on a team. Of course it’d come with the whole meet n’ greet to see if your personas are a good match and if there is team synergy. Just putting that out there!
Gl with finding a team though. And guys, K Pop is one of the best warriors I’ve witnessed play!
I appreciate the help. Yeah I am interested. As long as people are willing to play with a warrior
Hey, if you don’t mind playing with a warrior
Oh cool, welcome to the club.
Defektive is MIA atm i think. But we couldn’t play duo war seriously in this state.
More melee hate. more warrior hate.
Torment: take damage as you are moving.
Melee moves the most. oh boy chill and torment
Weakness: affect critical and non critical hits.
What about condition builds, considering that is half of the builds played.
Unless the next buff is warrior is immune to condition damage…
sigh
r46, EST timezone, NA, available most nights 9pm-2am for practice and play.
I am looking for a team to play with.
I have tons of experience on the class in higher level play. Warrior can peel for people.
Most recently with SOAC blue for a stint.
I do the warrior podcast “Adrenaline Rising”
Coach the warrior team in the Profession tournament.
EST evenings 9pm ish-
Looking for people willing to not fall apart after the first loss, understand the game, can play with a war. Just requires the right comps and strats.
PM me here or post in thread.
Good luck
Bringing this back up since the search is back on.

yay 8 classes and 2 are situational at best. Get ready for buffed base heals.
If everything is nerfed, then everything is equally as good/bad. Nerfing and buffing are the same. I do not know why people do not see this.
Don’t take my necro. We are going to beast kids once the patch hits.
Any luck here in this department
Warrior profession: out of the 60 traits available at least 48 of them are directly/indirectly related to doing more damage with enabling effects or just flat out percentages.
This is that top shelf whiskey right here. +1
The whole point of precision line is gs traits. If you just want power may as well run one hand axe and drop gs if your not going to run forceful gs. That is my point.
Going 0 points into arms is like not grabbing mobile strikes when you have 4 movement skills.
As far as the math thing goes, if you add 10% more power, you get 10% more damage approximately because skill coefficient goes up as well. There is no argument against this because critical damage will not balance power scaling.
However, my original statement was about skill coefficients saturating. not anything about power not being linear
Glyph is much stronger then the other rez skills and therefore they have treated it as such.
You can pre cast it and always just cancel cast it.
It depends how the skill coefficients change. They may saturate in which your power would get less of a return for each point.
Btw a gs build without points in precision is scary.
No i mean use the same pathing technology.
Bulls charge warrior does a 360 rotation before coming at you.
Rush would not do that.
The leap would mirror things like savage leap, shield bash, bulls charge. Those 3 skills do not suffer from the path issue that rush does.
my knowledge to ranger is limited, can some one please tell me what`s going on and how to counter it
WvW or PvP (i dont think this is about pvp since you dont have problem with other professions)???
- WvW depends on gear, lvl or zerg size.
- PvP Run Away (his pet is stronger than warrior).Burst warriors shouldn’t be able to beat a good BM ranger unless their CD’s are on a timer, unfortunately. Not unless their CD’s are on a timer.
Here is how you beat the BM ranger. You must land a blade trail with room for the blade to return to hit twice. bulls rush frenzy 100 blades during the immob. make sure Balance stance is up because dog rng knockdown is designed to hit during channels.
Now here is the key point. Do not immediately Shield bash eviscerate. If you landed everything up to this point the ranger will be about half health give or take. Now swap to axe set and auto attack.Wait for the ranger to turn blue to signify healing. Then shield bash eviscerate. The ranger will be low, but possibly not dead. But you will have 3 more seconds before they can heal again, and that is your opening to finish the job.
Lets be fair.
Chances of this happening against a good ranger are difficult to comprehend at best.
Are you telling me I can’t land a blade trail bro?
Do you even lift?
So they both describe charge.
Rush would be more reliable if it acted like bulls charge. Expect you probably could not include the knockdown. Or only make it knockdown if the person is moving, like gw1 bulls charge.
This would solve the closing path issues it has I think.
Even if you do not change the skill damage or anything, at least this animation change will help it/
When every team playing has a mesmer, I think it is safe to say it is alright.
That’s like complaining guardian isn’t bunkery enough
Dodge what is going to hurt your build the most. While Ostrich has named some general skills you should avoid, in reality you can’t avoid everything so you must prioritize.
When did call to arms become a blast finisher??
From the patch with warrior’s new traits.
I think I am dropping shield. It is in beta testing for me.
Shield: the 3 second invuln that also gives your opponents 3 seconds of not taking damage. Also gets canceled by Necromancer’s warhorn and fear mark when traited, Guardian’s wall and sanctuary, Elementalist’s tornado, trebuchet hits. Also conditions can still be mass-applied on the warrior while shielding.
Warhorn: 100% up-time on swiftness, converts 2 conditions into boons for yourself and teammates in an AoE on low cooldown , movement impairment full cleanse, almost perma-vigor, blast finisher, AoE boons for the team.
I hear you zone, but that shatter damage prevention when whirlwind on cooldown and free eviscerates. Honestly, it is probably better, like ele offhand dagger versus focus. But I just have to play with it. Warhorn conversion trait, now that is another story; I do not think I can go that far yet.
I was in a match and I heard someone using the chainsaw. It was just annoying sound.

I stopped when he said warrior dodges, so ele is out of range but war is getting in free shots. I am pretty sure ele range further than GS melee range.
Plus when do you ever ever see a rifle warrior lol
When did call to arms become a blast finisher??

Please stop getting my secret builds nerfed natty
What to dodge is more class specific imo then just a blanket answer. As a gc war for example, I try to evade all movement impairment so I can get to the target.
Good luck. Glad to see you back in the game.
There are also all of the other static sigils that could work.
When did call to arms become a blast finisher??
I make it my job to search for bugs and I just report them to devs. I suppose if we all just looked for like a day we could find them all.
Example was the adrenaline not dumping on burst bug I found. But it is kinda useless so its not a priority.
I will start playing again for you. The grapevine has informed me of your potential return and I was pleased.
I am pretty sure there is not a test too hard.
Warrior is fine long as you build the comp for it. Did it and beat some of the best teams for the 1 day we were a team. Maybe even have the VODs handy to back up my claims.
They are only looking for the gw2 holy 5
People don’t stack a point because it only takes one person for it to remain. It is not due to AoE. If points would swing with more then one person on a point, then it would have been more interesting.
To improve you must set goals. These could be personal or team for example.
An old personal goal for my was be able to kill the boss without taking damage in under 15 seconds. (pre-quickness nerf). Everyday I spent an hour practicing on the mists bosses until it was flawless and could be done in different combos.
Just an example.
I want Defektive, he has much more hammer experience than I do and can only be a benefit.
I love this game. It is a lot of fun and I enjoy playing my warrior. I just want to put some analysis into perspective. Warrior is not bad design. Everything else is just designed to counter it.
We all know the self poison is not an argument as that increases the necro healing power.
So they designed the warrior first, and polished that bad boy until he was shiny. He was a bad boy in melee range and an unstoppable beast. Very similar playstyle to the gw1 war, as he is/was the bulk of the damage. Then the next 7 classes came along and things got creative. Invulnerabilities and teleports, stealths and ai. Now all of this is cool design, but with the creativity things got pushed a little too far.
Cleave effects.
Although cool idea, in practice, you have introduced a serious imbalance. With single target abilities versus multi target and potential cleave ones, there is no comparison.
Skills are balanced for there single target numbers, then people start getting cleaved and there is no way you can balance for that. Skill x should do 2000 damage, but we did not consider it could do 6000 damage across 3 people.
Range versus melee.
The age old battle of the two types. Pros and cons to each basically consistent across every game. So without healers, we need a way for range to survive melee ranged characters. Therefore we have the inclusion of slows and teleports. Honestly, when has a slow ever stopped a ranged character? They can still range you slowed. When has a teleport stopped ranged? The range just changes direction. So two more mechanics with more hate against melee.
armor and hp vs healing and regeneration
This last set is a always thrown around the forums as defense for some class survivability. Now I think it would be fair is armor mitigation was significant but time has shown it is minimal. This is probably due to the multiplier versus addition formulas they used for damage. Interestingly enough, range gets a bulk of the healing and regen minus the guardian.
So here we have a case against melee, and the result is no one plays it. Imo, if you consider the common used classes, the top 5, they are pretty balanced. They all bring similar attributes to the table. Guardians, elementalists, engineers, mesmers, rangers.
Invulns or evades for damage mitigation. Potential AI generation for assists in fights. Strong defense mechanics (protection, stun breaks). Consistent damage without having to stand in melee range.
Sum up common responses to this thread.
1. lol what are you smoking necro is not OP
2. just dodge it
3. bring contemplation of purity
4. main a necro
5. thief is better boon stealer
And all 5 of those do nothing to address the original post.
This is the world we live in.
The depth of this game is as much as you want it to be. You can take it at face value like most people do and just play the numbers game. Or you can go further and send the right class to a position. Or you can go even further to push a position in order to open up a later more important push somewhere else.
Its like the nba. You could say there is no depth, your just aiming for the basket. But then at each progressively higher level you will see more things to it then that. Matchups, plays, rotations, etc.
Most people don’t read or just auto flame each other.
Read people please read what is written before responding.
Destruction of the Empowered is a good trait, but its placement takes away from some of the strength it has. Maybe is it was in the Strength line I would be happy.
Don’t have an EU account, else I would coach again
