And how many really high damage skills do mesmers have that don’t require a target? How many utility skills offer us invulnerability? How many movement skills do we have inour wweapons? How about for escaping a fight? Even necros can out run us or catch us… What about evades on our weapons as far as weapon movement goes we have 2 that’s it
This… doesn’t make a 2 second invulnerability on a 10 second CD less OP. If you think other skills need a buff that’s fine but this thread is not about the other skills.
It doesn’t make all other classes skills for avoiding damage while still being able to do high damage and deal with conditions better than us any less annoying to us. Blurred frenzy only does high damage in shatter builds and it is the only reliable damage mitigation we have in weapon sets… Both blocks that we have available only block ONE attack while other classes that have them block them for a set duration on matter what. Other classes have better weapon evasion than us. And if they bite off more than they can chew they can run away much easier. And to the person that said “Anything I said is now discredited” A necro with signet of locust is hard to catch especially for mesmers and especially since phantasmal berserker still does not freaking work… I’m sick of my class get nerfed over and over and over just because kittenes cannot L2P. I would loveee to have the damage mitigation that other classes get that mesmers are severely lacking but I deal with what I got. (FYI i’m not defending blurred frenzy because I use sword… haven’t touched it in months.) Objectively speaking other classes match our damage mitigation with their skill and put out high damage still. Blurred frenzy also only does high damage in shatter builds… in other builds (immortal and such) blurred frenzy damage is terrible.
Lol at the l2p claim. No one cares about the blurred frenzy damage.
Two problems with the skill:
1) it auto faces the target and tracks the target. You cannot walk through blurred frenzy and mitigate the damage.
2) 2 seconds of evade. Key word here EVADE. Which means unlike block skills that you claim about every other class which are not evades btw.
Advantages of being an evade:
1) Unblockable items do not hit through it. I.E. warrior new signet, unblockable marks, ground fields etc.
2) it is effectively a dodge, like whirlwind. However before you go on whirlwind 8sec traited cd remember that whirlwind does not track the player automatically. And the evade is only 1 second. Effective up time 12.5%

If your looking for boon duration, perhaps you can try a combination of rune sets. I say I prolly spend an average of 5 seconds in a weapon set unless I am looking for a specific opening.

The monk runes give you an added aegis to go with your elite, this helps to give you the opener in 1v1s. Intelligence sigils let you negate crit chance.
I chose axe off hand over mace after a lot of testing. Since the build uses axe as a double mainhand, you become bottleknecked by OH cooldowns, the axe 5 works as a “filler skill” -being that it’s channeled for 3.5 seconds, this adds to the overall fluidity of your dps output and adrenaline generation. Axe 4 gives you a bit of fury (in a build with 8% crit chance) and can hit for decent damage sometimes as well. Overall, axe OH over mace because mace will bottleneck your constant DPS and bogg down the your pacing of combat. -This is a personal preference though, you’re welcome to try mace if you’d like (plus I suck at landing tremors lol).
Utilities: Bolas because you have no gap closer, signet of stamina because condis are imba, greater justice for the fury and might (which outlasts the cooldown so it’s pretty much passive). I was using endure pain over signet of stamina for awhile, but I died way too much to condis.
If you happen to try it let me know how it works out, It’s loads of fun and pretty easy to get the hang of if you’re just starting out on warrior.
Your traits do not really enhance your build here. You have cripple on immob but 1 source of cripple. Movement break immob but only shield bash and evis for movement.
Off hand axe I tried maybe first week and it just doesn’t cut it for dps or survivability.
Considering fast swaps, I suggest using non shared weapons.
Reckless dodge will consume your crit swap.
Without critical chance, Eviscerate is a wet napkin from my experience, 3k is not a show stopper.
The runes you chose I do not understand what the role is in the build? Mending and healing power don’t really scale all that much.

If you have someone walk out of eviscerate range then you are casting from too far away.
You take more damage in downed state.
And your crits on that ele were much higher then average, like almost 1k more in auto attack then usual.
Only targets in current meta that seem to take 10k eviscerates are hgh engis, mesmers, and thieves due to their builds
All others average around 6-8k.
Eviscerate doesnt miss moving targets. It will change direction actually if a person teleports. It is an amazing skill.
This is why spirit watch needs to be repaired asap. This is game breaking from the point that it is not intended at all.

Honestly, there are only so many effective combinations at the moment for tournaments. I guess for dueling you can be super tanky and cheesy but it does not really matter.

The wiki says the tool tip is incorrect. Did you catch that? Specifically says does half the damage. Maybe they just corrected the number.
Give the guy a break. We see that each spvp server has a player limit. To increase the limit so more people could watch would be doubling their required resources for example. This is ridiculous for real time spectating to be available initially.
Plus GW1 observer mode was a recording. It was not real time like this spectator is currently. People never gonna be happy bro.
Since blurred frenzy gives distortion and now distortion lets for decap, does blurred frenzy cause for decap as well?

I think you can benefit from burst mastery more that double adren on hit.
The reason why Longbow is so important is because of Building Momentum. with energy sigil and longbow F1, you get a lot of dodges. Thats the way to keep yourself stay alive longer. Also the might stacking get more effect on condi damage, so the longbow burning become an important dps as well. The great sword also important because of its mobility, and the GS #3 also count as a dodge. To combine everything together, you can dodge more than other ppl do, and that’s how hard to play well on a longbow warrior.
So much dodge, but you not able to do damage while dodging. Ultimately my version has less mobility. I went with the might stacking while blocking. Blocking prevents almost as much damage as dodging but with the added effect of reflecting projectiles. I agree the main damage is the longbow and same for mine.
That is the reason for my decisions, but I will have to try your variant.

Have you never seen a game in a state of balance or near balance before or something? Are you suggesting we should leave these unused things unused and not even bother buffing them because they “might get too OP”? Not even giving them a niche, like this boon removal crap anet are doing with thief sword?
Maybe we should just nerf warriors some more, so they don’t become too OP. I mean they’re underused, it’s only natural that someone finds another class is more optimal.
non understanders gonna not understand. The only way for level ground would be if every skill did the same thing. You cannot balance two different play styles equally.
That is like trying to make an smg and a sniper rifle do the same damage.
People have found more optimal classes atm. But bringing everything up is worse than bringing everything down.
Skill X is so good, but Skills Y and Z are never used. Hey lets make Y and Z as good as X. Now you have 3 over powered skills instead of bringing them all into balance.
Key is balance. Making everything overpowered is not balance.

You probably have a chart of what traits/weapons/utilities people do not use. There is a good reason they do not as well.

Bad logic is bad. Just because something is underused does not mean it is underpowered.
Perfect example are d/d eles. At launch, d/d eles were very rare in sPVP since few people knew how to make it work. Turns out that once players figured out the class mechanics, the “underused” setup/class was actually too strong and is now getting balanced.
The same thing is also true of 100nades engies, and now HGH. The builds were available since launch but the community hadn’t figured them out yet so they weren’t popular.
A small number of people were ahead of the curve and figured these things out early.. then posted videos.. then they became FOTM.
I know of at least two overpowered s/tPVP builds that Anet is unknowingly buffing in the coming patch. They are OP right now and will be even more so in the next patch. I wonder how long it will be before one of these “underused” builds gets posted on the forums and becomes FOTM. I give it about a week, maybe two. Players will be demanding nerfs to previously underused skills

Its on 20sec cd so base healing per activation is a lot higher than the ele.

BTW, the attachment to gs is the evasion not the mobility.
Mobility is the issue because everyone has swiftness, or the ability to teleport around. We have motion skills but gap closing isn’t the issue. It is the ability to gap close under movement impairment.
Warhorn reduces your defensive strength for condition removal with no other affect.
That new trait sounds promising but 1/3 reduction on 5 seconds of movement reduction is still 3.xx seconds of slowness. Instead of duration reduction, I would have looked for maybe potency reduction. Like cripple with the trait is only 25% reduction speed or chill with the trait is 45% reduction in speed.

Synergy is working together say you do x and then i land a burst, etc. Synergy in builds means relying on teammates for certain aspects of builds. like on person has the cc, one has the condi clear, etc. It makes for a stronger overall build instead of several individual builds. Example is the team support an ele brings, or even venom share s/d

Weakness does not prevent crits… It would be the other side of the coin to weakness.
Necro obviously needs a condition that prevents critical hits.
This is probably the best suggestion, although I would hate it.

Ya, we’ll have to watch what the changes do to the game. I think that bunkers will still be viable, but I think you’ll see some new counters to them. It’ll be interesting to see what the meta does.

@the 25 in arms, I have done the math and you will lose approximately 8% damage, but pick up the boon damage. It will be better because at 2 boons you will basically be doing the same damage. I will sacrifice some damage vs non boon classes to do better overall. And the bleed 10% is very short lived and is countered by the cleanse, where the crit damage is a stat and will always be there.
I don’t see these changes making warriors OP. Due to where some of the new traits are going we probably won’t be dealing insane damage. As it is warriors will need 10 in Defense and 30 in Discipline. If we want to truly shrug off movement conditions we will need to take a full set of Mel runes which means more toughness as opposed to strength. At the best being able to run a Bunker Buster might make us attractive to have on a TPvP team again. There’s simply no denying that Bunkers are currently too strong and having the ability to spec to beat them at the cost of being more damage oriented is good for the meta.
- with new trait + Warriors will be able to counter cripple/chill making them unstoppable
- Unblockable attacks + increase damage %, they will eat bunkers for lunch, and ele’s/engi for snacks
