I also wish to thank Xeph for putting in the time to assist those looking for a team as well as trying to improve the Spvp situation. Since most here are looking for a team(myself included) i’m going to put together a team.

Other (Anything else that you would like to add): This isn’t to brag or to put myself above anyone else but I consider myself a top player in terms of the Guardian profession. I have over 1400 hours with this profession alone with many tournaments played. I’d like to find players who are skilled mechanically and are willing to help each other regardless of the task to improve the team as a whole.It would be beneficial for the members to have some sort of VOIP whether it be skype, TS or mumble. English is the preferred language but if we can work together with some barriers, then all is well.

To me i’d put them above engies for just for traps alone. Their survivability is also far better.
Engi condi has more depth in terms of access to all the conditions. Rangers just kinda stack bleeds with the fire every 15 seconds I think. They are close, but bleeds and burns get pulled early in the cleanse chain I think while all the other junk engis use stays.
Very surprised that people are putting Ranger on average or below average.
I think it is in reference to what is above it. Can’t really say it is better than hgh engi, ele, or guard so that just happens to be where it falls. Prolly the lack of stability is the biggest hold back from a higher tier.
You cannot I repeat you cannot land all 9 hits of 100 blades before they get up from bull’s charge knockdown if you are using frenzy.
For those saying it was not that bad of a nerf, this is the point we are crying about.
In addition to we now have a skill that says basically,
“For 5 seconds, do 50% more damage and take 50% more damage.” Necro self infliction isn’t even that serious. It is like take you heart out of your chest, you can now run faster for 3 seconds lol.
60 seconds for 4 seconds of damage immunity, not condi, not cc, is still abysmal

Thief:
Haste- lose endurance and cannot regen endurance- this negative effect was always masked by the fact that the thief can teleport. Who needs to dodge when you can teleport.
Ranger:
Quick Zephyr: When using troll unguent, Because it is not a heal but a regen over time, Popping ranger quickness did not actually prevent the ranger from healing
Warrior:
Frenzy- 50% extra damage. This was the double edge sword of the quickness abilities because the warriors utilizing quickness were already build glassy with minimal toughness. And then on top of that you took 50% more damage.
If all quickness sources made you take double damage from the beginning there would not be any issue with them.
Except maybe time warp since it was elite, but we all knew how balanced that was to begin with.
Or its the start of nerfing all burst skills because baddies cant dodge?
I think this is more realistic. The recent changes are a nudge for the game to slow down its pace. But they only changed half the coin. Must wait another 30 days for the potential of another change.

The depths of spvp goes over many people’s heads.
PS.: I don’t know why people think Kick is bad. Kick was hard to use, because it’d root you, now with the change it definitely isn’t.
In fact Kick can be borderline OP, as it does in fact have a knock down effect (yeah, it’s no updraft, I get it), it’s an interrupt that will hit for up to 2k on a 16s CD (frontal cone knockdown to up to 3 people that deals 2k damage…how much lower do you want the CD to be honestly) and it can be useful for many different builds.
From this post I can deduce a few things:
a) you don’t know what you’re talking about
b) you are the kind of person who reports people’s posts who disagree with you
c) you likely play at a very low skill level
d) I’ll stop there since you’ll just report again
lol 16 sec cd kick implies 30 in power line which is a waste of at least 5 trait points prolly 10 in most people’s opinion. To explain the badness of kick, we you kick, you put them out of melee range…But what a minute, I am looking to melee the guy… Only thing consistent was kick eviscerates, which are just funny imo but far from practical regularly. But so funny cause its like Bruce Lee to Chuck Norris

Threads like these are the pinnacle of the current balancing fiasco.
How is that good? Boons can be stripped and a lot of warriors alrdy get 25 might stacks in no time. Yeah, i’m talking PvE/WvW groups here but we gotta think about the balance as a whole as well.

We have everything from map trolls to self proclaimed best NA to casual hot join fun.
Some people are so blinded by the perception that ele is “balanced” it is unbelievable
Thief have:
- stealth
- big damage
- low hp
- low healing
Mesmer:
- Stealth
- Stuns / dazes
- LOTS OF DAMAGE ( illusory berserker like full glass cannon GS warrior )
- Their utilities are extremely useful, and also stun breakers? on really low cool down
- x2 invulnerability
- Confusion
- Infinite illusions
- Teleports
- Push
- Pulls
- Long range strong attacks that hit almost instantly without givin a chance to dodge.
- Short cd heal
- short cd immobilize / cripple
- Reflects
- OP Elites ( Moa / Tw )

All in one build? God people are stupid. If we have the 2 teleports we don’t have the the crazy push/pull (unless running focus but then its just 1). Engineers have better access to longer lasting confusion. We may get 3seconds of stealth every 30+ seconds but our stun breaker’s really don’t do anything else for us (ele cantrips however long CD and invuln or stability or teleport. Stun breakers that do more but that is why they are on longer c/ds). The iZerker really doesn’t hit for anything right now it got bugged out in the last patch. Which you would know if you weren’t a moron. Our short c/d cripple-immob is one of the buggiest skills in the game. Anet has stated this they have also said they can’t really do anything about it. The only way we can get a stun w/o going into a GM tree (which would prevent deceptive evasion or IP) is a signet that is only really good for the stun and a mantra or pistol. Thieves also get spammable dazes/stuns with a S/P combo… Forgot to mention that buddy. And we can not use moa or kitten the same time… And moa is very situational and if you bring it to a match your team should pimp smack you. Get your facts straight on classes before you go on making claims about OPness.
So you acknowledge everything he said we correct. And the berzerker is like whirlwind if a hit misses it does less damage. All of those things can be in one build. GS, sword focus, decoy, mirror images
There is a bug in which you can cap the node with the orb carrier. I do not want to say more to prevent people from exploiting it and I waited until Spirit was done in rotation practically. If I could get a dev pm or something I can explain the full details.

Can’t imagine why people like Spirit watch or Khylo. Best maps by far IMO is FoeFire, Temple and Niflhel

That wont stop making people care about their spot. For example, me and my entire team will never pug/soloq ever again once the leaderboards come out, since it’ll hurt our teams average.
And whether the leaderboard says you are rank 2 or rank 200 will that take away the fact that you are a good player? I think it is a poor excuse to not solo again.
Ranking won’t determine anything but give you a position its not like a rank 2000 person is 2000th in skill level at the game. Since there will be no class breakdown of the leader boards it is going to be a terrible representation of anything outside of w/l

Game issues like this are a more recent thing.
Or maybe it is just classics nostalgia I am stuck in. But this is not anything exclusive to PC games. I have seen similar things on consoles. I think games are trying to do so much nowadays and we expect so much as players, that there are bound to be cut corners or places that we do not thing are fully fleshed out.

There are arguments to be had on both sides here. Top players being able to adapt and something being out of balance are two different things.
Example, you can say at top levels that thief is something people have adapted too.
However, it can still be unbalanced, but people just figured out how to play around it.
I am not saying any particular thing is unbalanced, but it may be the case, and hot join is the easiest place for it to be exposed because all you do is kill there.
There is a difference between blatantly OP and slightly OP, and I think tournies reveal the blatantly OP and hot joins reveal the slightly OP.

I have posted about this before. Dev has commented in the past that this is a player going out of range issue. But as stated in the original post here, it did not use to be that way.
Step 1 is have an opening strategy. This is a before the match starts thing and it is important to know where everyone will be.
Step 2 be willing to adapt your opening strategy. i.e. you send 4 to mid and they send none, then you need to adjust.
Those two things you are first and foremost.
Common map openings- home point, mid point, far point,
(1-4-0) older style and made for massive mid team fights. Generally the 1 is made to bunker the home.
(2-3-0) second man at home for in case defense if the enemy were to cross.
(1-1-3) more aggressive strat in hopes of getting a free cap home and a bunker v bunker contest mid with hopes of distracting the enemy at their main point. Works well with eles
(2-0-3) or (1-0-4) Outside nodes strat. Generally employed when teams realize that a massive team fight mid would not go in their favor i.e. other team is running a strong team fight build. Generally like good conditions spreading. Splitting your team like this forces enemy to make a decision of potentially leaving someone out of a fight in mid or rotating, which can free up the mid.
Basic movement idea. Think of your 5 man team as points on a rubber band. If you stretch it too far i.e. spread out too thin, it will snap. If you pull hard in one direction, other players need to move up to support. If you played sports before, you can thing about it as a zone defense and how it rotates. This is how your in game rotations should occur.
Hopefully this helps out some. And feel free to hit me up if anything is unclear.

Crit damage without precision is bleh. Power> precision> crit damage
Regardless of you crit damage, crit hits harder then regular. You can have 60% crit damage and never be able to use it because precision too low

I will explain to you that teleporting up is a bug by the fact that you are unable to teleport down from ledges. Even shadow shot clips the edge.
Yes intended effect you are trying to achieve by climbing ledges is an unintended bug. So if you get stuck, it is just like any of the other bugs in your advantage in this game. It does not put you in the wall all the time and in fact it is rather low percentage. I did play mesmer for a while and did have this happen to me as well and had to log out yes.
Just position yourself. Everyone else must do that. Mesmer has 3 other escapes that should be on your bar not tied to the staff. (distortion, daze shatter , decoy/mirror images/blink, blurred frenzy. Use PR when your Positioned properly.
We complain about this every day.
