Also Trap Ranger existed since launch of game. Nothing has change in the build. No one used to invite my trap ranger until last month.

False, traps became unblockable…

A balance change like that would indeed change how useful a build is and thus how lusted after it would become to tPvP teams.

Changes like that is reason enough to have the list, it will chronicle how classes are perceived based on skill / attack / trait changes.

This is another time of the many times someone has been like nothing was changed since beta and now we consider it OP. This is false in most cases because the game we have today is due to the many small random changes we saw along the way over the last few months.

RA from gw1 had random maps associated with the matches. but idk if every match at the same time was on the same map or if every match had a different map. Maybe that is the issue. The tourney “server” can’t load individual maps for every pair of teams. Maybe it could be random but switch like every so many tourneys that are qued total.

I think if you think melee is low skill ceiling, then you do not understand the difficulty it has in most battles. Especially if you are running dual melee sets. Granted dodging positioning are important as mentioned above, but the class is only limited by its player base. Because most wars are running the same build it “appears” to have maxed out at a ceiling. However, if you break down that group using the build and examine each of the players, you will realize that there is a big disparity in how some people utilize 100blades build for example.

my tldr is build stagnation has given the appearance of a low skill ceiling.

melee difficulty and warrior skill capability are two completly different discussions…

any warrior that plays a 100blades build i pretty much exclude from any discussion of skill. not that is is a bad specc, but it doesnt take any skill at all to play and thats why you see so many of them.
A skilled player realizes that you get SOOOOOO much more from other speccs with a warrior.

i would say a warrior has more viable builds than any other class in the game, but they are also the easiest builds to play.

BTW, most thieves play backstab burst, mesmers shatter burst, guard bunker, ele d/d tank, etc etc. but does that detract away from the skill of the user?

I do not follow your argument that if you use 100 blades, then you are noob. And saying it does not require any skill, I can find you like 1billion posts that say otherwise because you can just dodge the stun and your free.

As another example, engineers have a low skill floor, but a high skill ceiling. The two aren’t dependent on each other.

skill floor- level to achieve at which you can play the class at a competent level.
example low skill floor is something that is easy to pick up and do alright with out of the box.

skill ceiling- level to achieve which is considered the highest level or top of play.
example is maximizing the capabilities of something seeming rather simple at first.

This has bothered me the longest time that people use these incorrectly.

low skill floor does not imply low skill ceiling. example is warrior.
high skill floor does not imply high skill ceiling. do not have class example because i do not think any class is limited

It is a valid concern. example, human warrior eviscerate versus asura eviscerate, have two different animations for the same skill. Human eviscerate looks like an axe attack while asura evis kinda looks like a dodge flip.

Now a days wars and condi are a bad mathcup. But there was a time in which mending was on a 20sec cd, and condi cleansing was much easier.
But then, healing sig had to become ‘viable’ (lol joke there) and mending bumped up to 25 seconds. That was the beginning of the end.

And here we are today, running healing surge because mending is lol at that recharge. And just melting away for a little extra healing if your adrenaline is full.
(which btw, another war mechanic based on keeping adren instead of using it gg) and such is life.
Plus healing surge mechanic is counter intuitive. Heal and gain more life if you have more adren. Then fill up your adren. So if I satisfy the first part, then the second is useless. And if I satisfy the second, then the first is useless.
(Woke up today and decided that I wanted adren instead of health. Maybe tomorrow I will want health instead of free adren.) Confuses me

Healing skill balance across classes. Maybe as a warrior I should get x health plus y more for each enemy since I am made to be in a fight.
I just want old mending cd back. it was a competitive skill
Seeing as 5.7k is approximately 25%-30% of my health.
Even a full healing surge is 8.5k which is 30-40% of my health.

But the kicker is in between that cd of the heal, there is no current form of sustaining myself to live. Maybe banner regen or shout heal, but so far away from the damage tree its not competitive. No natural protection, and i am not talking the boon.

I guess whirlwind is my protection.

For the longest time you could not take out mini pets in the mist. I wrote a ticket and it eventually was fixed. My suggestion is create the appropriate ticket and give them some time to write the code.

The trick is just to join off a friend in hotm and you will be able to skip the intro story.

In case I was not clear, just have a friend join a hot join match and then click join friend in pvp. You will have whatever starter stuff they give you, but you can exit to the mist and change your stuff.

good for you!most people here want the 10k hp class to lose the ability to recover +escapes instead..

The problem is that the game’s philosophy is that warrior is correct. Therefore it will probably never be touched, but everything around it will be adjusted accordingly is a slow fashion

Then even the ele one is correct, we’re supposed to be master of control..the best in the game therefore it’s logical to expect an ele to control the flow of the battle in his favour, which imply being able to disengage with ease by using powerful controll skills, furthermore we’re supposed to boast the best support skills in the game and this include healing skills…so come again pls?

-edit- great aoe dmg is supposed to be also one the benefits of playing an ele along of course being the most versatile class in the game…did I miss something?

The devs have said the war is the most polished class. There have been no major changes to war outside of beta change. Therefore all design changes in game will most likely be made to the other 7 classes. I am not going by the stupid synopsis blurbs they gave us lol.

Oh and make your 100B a 45sec CD with a 3 sec delay on hit. That would be awesome

Ele doesn’t even have a 45sec cd on any of its weapon skills come on now. Everything I have claimed is within reason and I know plenty of eles that do everything in my above statement. If you have not seen that, then your not there yet.

Question: does Paid matches start up simultaneously? like, does it wait for a certain number of teams formed (obviously an even number) or a specific countdown before matching then pops up. Or does it pop up as soon as there are at least 2 teams formed? XD

I think it is an instant matchup. We have been in ts3 with two teams that que up within 10 seconds of each other and instantly matched against each other.

It’s kittening stupid how you can be rewarded for missing abilities in stealth. Stealth openers should never be guaranteed. If you hit someone invulnerable/blocking/blinding while in stealth, you should be de-stealthed.

I’d love if my Fire Grab was refunded to me if it were to miss or hit an invulnerable target. Ditto for shatters and 100b.

If you get switched over you will (irregardless of the outcome) get:

  • The bonus points you get for winning.
  • 5 extra Points for “volunteering”.
  • A “win” in your statistics.
  • A chance at a somewhat balanced team.

Exactly!! and that is why team switching is
A) beneficial to your stats
B) ensures the win bonus for you
C) keeps a room even

I want to show eles who are boss again. If you do not want to adjust their skills, at least give me back my eviscerate damage. That will level the playing field.
I need more than 2% at 20 points. Can I at least get like 5% or 10%? Considering it costs me 28% of my trait points to invest this far.

Perspective, 10% burst damage would be a 50% nerf from the original damage from bwes.
The sigil stacking crit maneuver is already removed from the game, so the damage should be back in line. I am just asking please at least consider it internally. I can even give the spec.

Certain classes being killed not causing rally properly. Believe this is necro and war.

Players bugging out and not being able to be interacted with for stomps or rezzing. On the related note, I think it is like an invulnerability because the point was capped while the teammate was in this down state on the point. However, you can still damage the body.

Trebuche voice, yells out trebuche is incoming…And then 5 seconds later it lands. Terrible audio cue for dodging. Maybe treb voice is coded to speak after x amount of time instead of the proximity of the treb shot?

A lot more latency issues this last week. Not sure if my system, the khylo map, or the server. I know fps changes are my system but there have been times when my character’s casting times react slower.

forward backward strafe strafe. and mostly mouse to turn myself while running forward.

I play war, guard, and necro. I find for melee that turning off target assist can help with just swinging in a battle. Plus if you are trying to run away and you auto promote a target, you will not run away.

Fast cast I do not use, but maybe a caster can speak about that.

It is just possible he copied and pasted the same number twice by accident. If you go through, certain numbers repeat themselves, which rarely happens in actual combat.
