I still run axe because of the dps. Plus most of my eviscerate usage is timed. I would say about 25% hit through dodge. And that is mainly due to 1v1 vs thief. In team fights it is rarely dodged. Mostly snared or blinded.

I know I haven’t been streaming, but I wanted to update this thread.
I changed my amulet back to berzerker amulet. I found out that the added damage was worth it over the 5k hp. My defense is the offensive pressure.

Also, this build does surprisingly well against condi mesmer. Who knew lol

I am testing out Vamp runes again.

Here are some screenshots of effectiveness. If you recognize account names, then you know I am not messing around in these games.

I looked at this shot again. IDK how I have 25k hp. Marauders is right around 24k. Maybe we have the beast. IDK

Tried vamp runes too, it always seems to be a bit of a hit or miss. But I still think marauder is better cuz you get a higher crit chance which should translate to similar dps but with more hp.

This is the misconception I had at first. I thought the crit chance would make up for the power loss. I was wrong. I use the Foefire lord as an example. With berzerker amulet, I can kill him within the rampage timer. With marauder, this does not always happen.
Berzerker amulet provides more crit damage and regular damage.
My job is to kill stuff, not survive in a fight. If it is dead, I do not need the extra hp. Words just cannot describe the difference properly.

I was a big advocate for marauders amulet. Until I went back to this. Now I do not know why I ever left.

I am also trying to “climb up” as power warrior(100% soloq, warr). I am using a build very similar to yours, only running balanced stance instead of frenzy.
Right now, I’m stuck at T4 Ruby, my goal is at least diamond. So far, I feel as if I was playing worse version of scrapper or rev.
Most of the problems come from teams running heal ele+druid combo, which is also one of the causes of my huge losing streak today.

Hopefully, tomorrow it will be better.

Urge to run reaper much stronger.
Must. Resist.

Quickness is just so good to pass up for me. You still have Last stand trait so you get stab every 40 seconds.

1) is intended to produce experience. How can you consider yourself a legend if you only get 1/9th of this game’s mechanics.
However, you can just swap classes before the match ends for the victory points.

2) Timegating is important to force you to play the season and not just farm it all in one day. It is a season. 3 matches is very reasonable, about an hour, which works nicely with people who like to play casually.
Stop yelling at people who play this GAME for fun. It is a Game.

What are some suggestions for Legendary Titles?

Maybe legendary titles should act like the old gvg titles or the heroes ascent titles.
When you win matches or get tiers/divisions, it increments. Then the title has the tiers in itself. So if you have like 300 wins in legendary for example, Terrifying legend. Upwards towards like Legendary Champion/legend.

If wins is too frequent, then you can do division crosses. Just as long as you can’t bug the title by losing and regaining the same division cross. Example going from legend 2x to legend 1x by losing, then winning the pips back for the division cross into legend 2×.

In legendary, more people are able to adapt to a teammate who is not necessarily performing to expectations. In ruby, this happens way less.

You have to understand this. You cannot just port legendary play style into ruby. It does not work a majority of the times.
The proof in this statement? I have taken ruby players into legendary, and they do not follow what is going on rotational wise.

So ruby rotations=/= legendary rotations

So I believe 100% that you can go to legendary, then on an alt account fail miserably. Because you are doing X when your team is doing Y.

Battle of Khylo Rotating Imbalance Issue

So I’ve discovered an issue with a non-destructible barrel on Battle of Khylo that gives the red team an advantage for rotating between mid and home.

Without needing speed boosts, teleports or leaps, any character can easily take a shortcut from windmill to mid without going around the ramps or using the inside stairways. The only non-destructable barrel I can find in the whole map is the one that creates this advantage. Shown in the picture on the right side, it makes getting up onto the rooftops quick and easy without the need for much jumping prowess.

Alternatively, the path up from the mansion is impossible without using special skills or speed boosts. I did attach a second image showing the path up with speed boosts.

It’s decent that both sides can get up to mid with speed boosts, but having a quick and cheesy option that any character can do with ease gives red team a significant advantage.

The barrel I’ve noted needs to be removed, or relocated and made destructable. I played as red team a few times and was loving the shortcut, until I played on blue team and realized there wasn’t a complimentary shortcut from the mansion. :/ Please fix the barrel.

Reduce slipping by jumping from the green grassy part. I only miss the jump when I randomly draw conditions from my team with plague signet while I am trying to come to the fight.

It appears that the 6th slot of the rune set goes through block. I was using shield block on warrior when another warrior came up to headbutt me.
The headbutt was blocked, but I still received all the conditions.

My eviscerates be hitting for 800. My auto attacks do more. I have given up on the skill.
The other day I got vaulted for 9k. I was thinking, man I remember when eviscerate did that kind of damage. Oh well. The past is the past.

Evis has higher multiplier, its simple. If it did less, its prolly cuz u got glance, maybe revenant brief armor thing and prot from ele and paladin amulet, not cuz evis does little damage. And would then do even less in same situation. Evis’ better than autoattack unless you’ve got quickness.
Evis doesn’t become worse than other skills because you decided to use evis the same moment he had insane dmg reduction at that time where every other (non condi) skill would suffer an equal ammount.

Nope. Evis still has the multipliers:
1 bar adren: 2.0
2 -II- : 2.5
3 -II- : 3.0

While auto has 0.7 per hit and 1.5 for the final hit

Evis does more, arguebly u get more value out of autoattack vs bar 1, And quickness auto is god compared. But ultimately Evis does more dmg as usual.

I have checked the coefficients myself. Run the numbers multiple times. I will screenshot some eviscerates for you guys in matches.
That thing is at wet noodle status. I have not eviscerate for over like 4k in a while. Honestly, I thought it was a bug for a while.

I checked eviscerate coefficients vs vault.
Looked at the damage multiplier traits vs thief. If vault can crit hit 9k on a heavy, why can’t eviscerate?

I am not trying to lie about this, I am just pretty disappointed in the skill right now.
The 3/4 sec cast for a single hit, when the first two chains of axe auto also land in 3/4 sec interval, and give you 3 hits, it is almost a no brainer for me at this point.

The skill looks pretty on golems, but in practice, it has lost its potency.
EDIT: It is the defensive traits, not the offensive skill. Much more damage mitigation nowadays.

To redeem myself, this happened this weekend. 1million damage

I like it, I’ll try anything once, except sushi. Gross.

Build works well against elementalist, necromancers, and Druids. Even having success against condition mesmers.
Still looking for that magic against scrapper and revenant. Scrapper boon uptime is too great for this build. And those 2 stacks of rev stability from dodging pretty much stops this build.

But glad to see something that can at least fight a portion of the top field.

Last night, we had this happen in several matches. Enemy down bodies were sliding across the screen. Could not determine location to cleave or stomp.

I noticed this happened when I was playing on necromancer and using either chilled to the Bone or Reaper shroud 5 as the enemy was close to dead. They would be frozen and continue to stay frozen in that position sliding forward, although they were in down state.

I have been working on GS alternative builds. Because the unblockable signet might has so much untapped potential, I think a build centered around Arms line instead of the strength line could be very potent.
Here is what I am testing currently.

A couple things you may notice initially:
1) This is not your typical Kpop power damage build
2) It is designed to be in the bruiser category
3)Paladin amulet, scrapper runes. This is about 25% incoming damage reduction vs marauder amulet while only losing about 20% outgoing damage.
4) This build is more for team fighting than in skirmishes that I usually like.

Things I am still testing in this build:
1) Sigil combination. I like the spike damage on weapon swap after I stun. Hence the overload on the leech and hydromancy.
For the mace set, stun duration makes skull crack up to 4 seconds, seemed like a no brainer. Currently trying super speed on the mace set for swiftness.
2)Arms grandmaster- currently testing attack speed increase, I think burst precision is not as useful since these bursts don’t scale in damage.
Furious was not bad for generating extra adrenaline. But I felt like I was not fully able to utilize the trait.
3) Cleansing ire I was using for the adrenal gain mainly. The other two traits could easily fit here.

4) Alternative to this would be the Valkarie amulet. Swap Arms middle to unsuspecting foe, profit for the bigger crits. Adjust sigils for crit as well.

Results so far:

Mobility is not an issue without gs. As long as you use the sword 2 properly.
Sig of might is nice when my target hits 50% but at times I wish I could proc it myself. When it is active though, it can mess up revs and mesmers.

Cons seems to be very weak to stability. I was looking for an anti engineer build. Had some engi 1v1s yesterday, this still does not do it. Too much stability uptime. However, I was able to last much longer in the fight given the damage reduction.
Requires damage from a second source to kill a target.
I was using it to mainly stun elementalists while the team was killing another target. Potential is here.

Pros:
Still a power build, has 2225 power and 54% crit chance.
Single target cc is very strong. Combo from Defektive a few years back.

Skull crack- weapon swap- auto attack x3- final thrust- auto x1- tremor- auto attack x2- weapon swap- shield bash- mace auto attack- skull crack again.
By the second skull crack if all the hits connect, you have generated 20 adrenaline again. so the next skull crack is 2.5 seconds.
Total stun time is about 10 seconds.

There is some slight combo changes if you are not using dual wielding. I think it is 1 less auto attack after final thrust.

ANET don’t power creep warrior. It is their testing ground for skills. If it kills the warrior, it makes it to the live game.

How would I fix Warriors?

Well, if it’s a Charr, I’d sedate him and have an Asura perform a bit of minor surgery… then stick him in one of those vet cones for a couple weeks. While one of those are on, I’d expect he’d get some sort of buff to his shouts and rage skills. I’m sure his stances would be a bit off during that time, though.

It does have counter play.
1) Stability
2) They have terrible heals. Survive the up front damage and disengage if you see green.
3) Corruption..that many boons even if they don’t want them. Its begging for it.
4) Its called cripple/chill/terror or any condition for that matter. Let’s face it, rev’s just aren’t good with dealing conditions.

Your looking at one thing that one weapon does strongly, but not at the myriad of weaknesses. It is kinda one of those things, I didn’t see people complaining that unrelenting assault doesn’t work if they are close to a wall or obstacle..they only QQ what upsets their play style, and not what is genuinely not working or broken.

I am pretty sure you need like 5 stacks of stability.
If you stun break while caught in it, it just keeps going and you get stunned again.

Bringing a handicapped F2P account to Legend does not suggest that it’s not handicapped after all.

It suggests that the important part lies elsewhere, I would suggest teamwork & flawless rotations can overcome a mechanical handicap.

How much better is starter MMR than the veteran’s MMR you speak of? You really think starter MMR carries people? That, i’m not sure if I believe. I think any legend can take any tanked, 30 loss streak account to legend.

I want to support this statement, because I remember midway through season 1 I was on a insane loss streak and even made a forum post about my MMR being beyond repair.
But I made it to legendary then and I did it now too.

I am not one to chastise folks, but I do have to ask at some point, how much of this is exaggeration?

Do you realize that small mistakes can lead to large margins of victory? Maybe you lost 1 2v2 for example and your team could not recover. Went for a stomp/rez instead of the other way around and your team fight ended poorly?

How do you know that your team is not the high MMR team and the other team is the low MMR team just playing better than you? High and low are relative.
Actually this point is huge. Everyone claims to be on the low end of the spectrum. But you have no idea of the spread. High and Low could mean 1000MMR and 1050MMR average.

I must say, on some levels this MMR privilege argument parallels some real life stuff.
Its crazy to see RL problems mirrored in games.
I will not say that the MMR barrier does not exist. And I cannot say that if some can overcome said barrier that you can too. These are both probably poor over generalizations.

Even pro league, the top 100 or so players, trade games and wins/losses. They regroup and try to come back stronger, working on their individual flaws.

Regardless of whether or not the system is flawed, blaming the system does not increase your pips. Only you playing and improving can do that.

Do you know why I play warrior in this game even though it is perpetually terrible? Because its a game and its what I enjoy. If I outplay someone, it feels good. If I lose, I look to see what I can do better. But at the end of the day, the very end of the day, this is supposed to be your leisure outlet.
Please do not be consumed by it.

I have now gotten 2 tiers away from Legendary with only playing my War

Those last 2 tiers are the worst two tiers. You can potentially fight legendaries and get so very comp dependent matchups. Good luck.

  1. seems to be getting dislike due to items being locked behind tiers. But think about this, if you casually pve, you won’t just magically get a legendary weapon or complete map completion at the same rate as someone who is playing “hardcore”. The same barriers and walls exist in pve. They are just perceived differently because mob ai is << player intelligence.

Do we consider it a swing mechanic?
-Treb is like a thief, good +1 when you are winning. can aid in a decap. but you cannot go to the treb and just auto win.
What do we think of it being up all the time?
-Treb being able to be killed and reset is what balances it out. the cannon you can just walk away from and come back. the treb I have to invest resources to restore it for example

Does it need to be reworked to make it fit “periodic secondary mechanics”, and if yes how would you change it?
-I think cannon damage is the biggest offender. Not usre how to answer this question though.

Is the treb fine as is, and why?

-Treb is fine because again, the treb will not just will the mode for you. It also requires certain attack strategies to be most effective. And the enemy dodging the treb makes it 4v5 effectively.

Future secondary objectives need to be like the creatures on forest or the treb. They help you in specific instances. Creatures can keep you in a match or decide a close match.
Treb can help debunk points and supply extra assault to a location.

Mechanics like the lord are end all mechanics and not so favored. These swing mechanics are too strong for pvp. Hammer ends more fights than treb in my opinion. But part of that is due to the floor panels.

Per chance, did you win any AG or ESL tourney (with proof?).

If not, I would probably create a Mentor RANK. You got the drive, the talent and skills to make people learning new things up.

Congratz over that proof of leadership, it’s great from you.

I do not have a ESL victory as I have only pug in ESL. I have some AG wins, but I do not think I win the whole tournament before. Only tourney I have won all the way through is the old pugquest style tournaments.
I have experience in this game, but my team experience is limited due to class selection issues (Warrior). But just because I have not won with a team does not mean that I do not understand the mechanics and what it takes to be successful with a team. I have ample team sports knowledge to cover that.

Of course I will look to the mist core. I forget I am in that guild.

Can we play with EU players?

NA and EU cannot be in the same game, but if they have an NA account, they can join us.
I updated the first post with a player interested in doing the same initiative on the EU servers.

It is 1s even if the one I would apply was 1/4s. Also, BV isn’t the issue. If you run SoH, Stealing in general is a problem. As for blinding to conceal yourself, Mirror isn’t a reflect or a projectile. It just happens and there’s nothing you can do about it.

Again, the topic is not about me not knowing how to deal with certain skills. I’m just sharing things I believe have annoying mechanics.

I get your gist. I was just saying 1 thief to another. The steal backstab with Bassy up works wonders except against this trait.

The blinding powder thing was just so while you are stunned you cannot be targeted.

At some point you have to pick your poison. I choose to dodge leap and Tides, I have to eat some shatters.

If they stow moa on you, they certainly won’t continuum stow if as that would waste it. But at some point continual stowing the skill it will eventually hit you as stow cd is 3secs and dodge cd is like 10 seconds. But I think about this. If they are stowing it and you don’t see the evade, you got a few more seconds of dps.

Mesmer is mind games, I know. You just have to try and out mind game.
I know it is possible on necromancer at least.

this is a pretty awesome thing youre doing. if you ever get into community give aways i will be willing to donate, although im not that rich. for me to consider donating though, i would need to know the potential match up before hand, the results, and then i would donate directly to the winner.

I will keep you in mind. For me to get to that stage, I would need to work out some things with some friends who are bigger streamers than myself, and have larger base followings.

Ruby division makes people hate PvP

Here is how you fix matchmaking and division issues in one simple fix.

Honesty, what needs to happen is just 1 big indefinite length division with checkpoints.
When you reach the pip checkpoint, your display badge changes. I have 60 pips, so I am now considered diamond for example.
If you lose pips and fall below that checkpoint, your badge will revert to the old one. I lost a match and fell to 59 pips. 60 pips is the diamond threshold so now my badge shows as ruby,

No more hard barriers. I can fall from diamond to sapphire if I keep playing poorly.

You can still have the tiers where matchmaking attempts to match certain tier players but just have one big floating division. pips 60-80 are considered diamond. MM will attempt to match me against players with 60 pips +/- 5 pips within rank initially and expands as the timer goes.

Teams are randomly sorted. Pips are the metric so anyone with 60 pips is fair game on either team. Do not place all the better or lower pips on one side.
Matches become more even.

Have every person start somewhere around 10-20% of the pips. Then you can actually fall initially or climb. Season begins, you have 20 pips and start in the emerald tier. fall below 15 pips, rank demotes to amber. get it back and rank changes again.

This is the best way to ensure fair matches at each level. A variable gray scale instead of hard boundaries.

Rewards winning, does not prevent people from being stuck in a tier they cannot actually sustain.

I forgot to mention, the variable pip win loss scale needs to be active. But only if matchmaking takes into account professions as well.
