Crucible of Eternity is now impossible, pathetic update ….. path 1, if someone die, it’s over.
Subject Alpha + the new system = impossible.
Awesome Arena net, Thank you for ruining our pleasure
Didn’t they only decreased Alpha’s hitpoints? What else did they do to make it impossible?
Well, the waypoints.
Getting used to being spoiled doesnt make you disciplined. If you claim to know mechanics, you wouldnt be dying. Knowing a mechanic and executing it properly go hand and hand.
Knowing and understanding the mechanics is not beeing a pro either. We all have to fail at times to get better, but making the whole team fail just doesn’t help.
You don’t get patted on the back for failing, you get rewarded for learning from failures. You learn by not dying.

Nope, learn the encounter so you wont have to zerg res kill bosses.
Pro Ele < Pro Guardian
Pro Ele > Noob Guardian
Noob Ele < Noob Guardian
Simple fact. No matter how good you play an ele, if you put the same player on a guardian and learn it to the same extent, they’ll offer more to the party than an ele will. Don’t get me wrong, I love ele, i have over 800 hrs on an ele, but guardians are just gods when it comes to team support.
I didn’t know that skipping through trash mobs, being super efficient at killing things, and running dodging attacks were considered exploiting. Must be that “theres no way you can run that fast, you must be exploiting” without even watching the video thing…

Yet you are missing out why everyone is telling you the same response over and over again. This question, this thread has been brought up numerous times repeatedly (if you had used the search function) and a dev has already stated that skipping “is allowed”. The answer to your plea is there and you can argue with everyone you want, at the end of the day, that is the official response. If you do not like it, you can go spam their support ticket till they get tired of you.
I don’t know why you are quoting me here. I am not the OP so using the Search function was not my responsibility. You are right that this question is brought up repeatedly. I’ve seen it so many times that I finally had to respond.
Sorry, my mistake I quoted you instead of his post above yours on accident lol.
Another thing to note and verify is if your tear tosser is allowing anyone to be petrified for more than 1-2s, they are doing it wrong.
Everything is boring after you do it enough times. Go run some other dungeons.
Ive done every dungeon and I think most of them are boring. We’ve gotten to the point where our idea of fun is doing CoE path 2 and trying to kill each other with the golems instead of the boss. The encounter before the patch at least made you learn what each individual flame legion’s attack tell was if you wanted to clear it properly. This way is just spam your auto attack cleave till magg blows the kitten door up.

@Sina, I just did FoM lvl 79 with Grimbane. Get on my lvl son! :P
Did you do maw after the patch yet?
he didnt do jade maw. You so ninja editted that post from “how did you get past the infinite agony”
Sounds like the length it takes Magg to set the bomb can be looked at. It HAD to be “dumbed down” because of the new no res rushing mechanic. 1-2-2 is no longer an option, and “LTP N00b” is just rude, encounters should not be so difficult it requires several party wipes to learn them, so the encounter really should be “smash their faces on their keyboard” easy. It’s not even a boss encounter, its just kill stuff for a duration, how much difficulty do you want?
No res rush is anet’s way of saying “Learn the encounters”. I learned them, and it made them much smoother and easier. Banging your head on a keyboard to clear an encounter is not teaching anyone anything. I get Robert put a great deal of effort on this, but it is just boring after you do it enough times.
Always had this bug that occurred randomly at times. Reason most people didnt see it is cause everyone bugged the hell out of him and never saw him attack. Those invisible axes are a p.i.t.a at high lvl fractals.
Most of “stationary” combat is made possible with the possibility of guardians or sheer knowledge of the fight. A few months ago people kept calling dungeon experiences “Ranged Wars 2” since all everyone did was range bosses. By being ranged, the bosses technically moved around targetting different players. As players evolved to understand bosses AI + mechanics, more and more of them are being dumbed down to keeping them stationary. Hell, full melee lupicus is starting to become a trend for the top players.
You can still guest on other servers and mine other servers. So if you have lvl 45+ toons, you can still do this across 3 servers.
I havent ran this fractal since the patch yesterday but from reading all the posts in this thread, I don’t quite follow what exactly is new compared to people only realizing now.
An area of the ground gets littered with red circles, that touching for even a milisecond gives you agony…I think much like the cliffside boss’s red circles, except that those actually give you time to get out of them. These appear underneath you and immediately inflict agony which there is no way to dodge. So once you’re out of heals, you’re screwed.
Ah thank you. That sounds outright kitten lol.
They do have a bit of HP, but not “too much”. People don’t run CM because it doesnt give cores/lodestones, and no one likes fighting all those bandits in small contained space. I personally hate running TA because of the kitten blossoms poisoning you 24/7. Doing it w/o a staff guardian, shortbow thief, or an ele is a pain in the kitten to clear the blossoms. Most of the bosses can be killed within a relatively short amount of time with proper dps. If any boss takes you 30min to kill, you’re doing it wrong.
We had to also abandon this frac last night. The only way to stop the debuff was to log out to desktop and go back in. Then when you re-enter the frac, you would insta die and then your group could res you. But, eventually we all had the debuff and had to give up. Very frustrating.
You dont need to logout to desktop, just relog to character selection.
Not quite sure what the problem with this boss is. It’s always had 2 agony attacks, one was single target. The other was a ground frost aoe that would knock you down when he puts his hand into the ground. The thing that sucks about the aoe is he has about 3 different attacks that have the same animation of him putting his right hand into the ground. Way I’ve dealt with it was bring a stunbreaker, get knockdowned, stand up immediately to dodge the icicle drop. I havent ran this fractal since the patch yesterday but from reading all the posts in this thread, I don’t quite follow what exactly is new compared to people only realizing now.
Am I the only one who had to get actually good players to make this work? Took my team quite a few tries to get it right. This one actually requires that you focus and call targets. The other one was just beat kitten up or run around and die. I think there’s a clear winner here.
I liked the new encounter for the first 30% of it. Then i got bored of how long it actually is mashing tab+1 on my keyboard. This encounter was dumbed down for people to literally smash their faces on their keyboard and still complete it.
On one note, skipping takes skill. On another note, some dungeons aren’t the best to have ‘fun’ in with pugs due to some design aspects. If you really want a dungeon that barely has skipping, try FOTM.
You are contradicting yourself. You say it takes skill to skip, and at the same time you say often pugs dont have skill, so it’s better to skip. Make up your mind.
Also, why do you play dungeons with pugs if you are not having fun? Ohh yeah, fast loot, that’s all that matters for many players (farmers) out there. And you guys have a problem.
Skipping it’s something I find not fun. That’s my opinion, and I’m entitled to hope many others shares mine, that’s why I made this post.
I’m well aware this post will be very unpopular amongst the farmers, but I care about my fun, not about their loot.
Not everyone has to play the way you want to. You find it fun killing mobs, I don’t. Ive killed them many times over that its not fun anymore. You don’t see any posts on forums about people telling non-skippers to stop killing mobs when everyone is already at a boss. You’re entitled to your opinion, sure, but its seriously only like the millionth thread on this forum about a player wanting everyone to play the way they want to play.
I don’t understand why people have to kite the Magg room pre-patch. Killing them is much faster.
It is IF you have a proper DPS party. I see alot of people say this but then they dont realize they either run with a steady dungeon group or/and had a high dps party. Sure, its doable with lesser dps but sometimes the effort isnt worth it when it’s easier to just kite as stated.
Not true at all, did a full clean with a full cleric ele, full zerker thief, full zerker warrior, and support guardian (me). We 4manned the whole defend magg event w/o a single person downing. It’s not a dps issue, its a learn to focus + stack mobs issue.
I two-manned it with a Ranger and Engineer. Oh you want proof? I don’t have proof.
I could care less if you believe me, I know i can do it, my party knows we can do it. Non-believers can shout and call blasphemy if thats what makes them feel better. Most of that encounter revolves around 2 aspects.
1. Party learns to dodge/mitigate smokelord lava font burst.
2. Stacking mobs for maximizing damage.
Having “super duper uber dps” is an alternative to getting around idea #2. Knowing when to use CC’s and on what target makes that fight very very easy. Every class has knockdowns/knockbacks. Should try using them instead of mashing dps skills all day.

Ori dropped from the rich node being introduced, but it is largely because of normal use, not people who farm it. Before this node was there you could get about 25-30 ori a day per character and it took about 30-45 minutes and the use of 4-5 WP’s. Now with a single node you can get 18 ori using 1 WP and 5 minutes. It is faster, cheaper, and easier to get ori now then it ever was before, so the price dropped.
Just wait until Monday, I suspect Ori will drop a full silver on Monday. With the introduction of guesting to 2 different servers every 24 hours, you can now take those parked alts and have each one produce 3x as much ori as before, in addition to the 3x as much ori normal characters will be able to get.
Except you can’t. I attempted to do this before I server transferred. I mined ori on my previous server, then after transfer, all the nodes on the new home server were already mined out. So based on this information, I’ll go ahead and make the assumption that guesting will have 0 effect on the supply.
