if you want to kill tequatl, get there very early like 1 hour beforehand….then afk and do something else while parking ur char in Sparkfly Fen.
The best server for PVP is European server Gandara because it is the Moon Fortress.
Even now, JQ and TC can share first with one another if they allow SoS to take 2nd next week. Preferably the one that has the higher rating should take 3rd.
So next week 7
JQ 22+1 23
TC 22+5 27
SoS 22+3 25
BG 18+5 23
MG 14+3 17
DB 10+1 11
Week 8
JQ 23+5
TC 27+3
SoS 25+1
BG 23+5 28
MG 17+3 20
DB 11+1 12
Week 9
JQ 28+5 33
TC 30+3 33
BG 28+1 29
SoS 26+5 31
MG 20+3 23
DB 12+1 13
JQ/TC interchangeable
Interesting scenario but it’s a bit risky for the server that would get 3rd next week. I don’t think JQ or TC are going to take this route.
Chris, you do not speak for the majority of SoS. The top 3 servers of Tier 1 have functional war councils that can decide and execute strategies. It is no small feat to coordinate many guilds to follow the same strategy.
The only server that is worried about SoS strategy these coming weeks is BG as this post’s analysis suggest a possibility of them ending up as 5th place in season 2 rather than the predicted 1st place. This is potentially a fatal blow that can cause mass exodus of their guilds to other servers. I am sure SoS understands very well how it is to fall from rank 1 , free-fall and struggle back up again. However, to pull off a grand strategy, it all depends on SoS war council ability.
Good historical link to read up on : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Red_Cliffs
Well SoS doesn’t seem to be following the plan atm. Of course, they should consider working with Maguuma about this.
SoS only has to risk alienating pugs and guilds that always want to win no matter what. Relax and take it easy for 2 weeks, but they can still have a party in Edge of the Mists

Everything is good depending on what you enjoy doing most. The only thing you should avoid purchasing is Supply Capacity which increases the amount of supplies you can carry. It sounds great, but for 5 extra supplies it costs 300ranks, which is not worth it until you’ve purchased all other upgrades.
Nah Supply capacity is very useful and I suggest getting some around ranks 600-1000.
WvW forum seems to be same topics rehashed over and over.
Supply Mastery Rank 4
Build Mastery Rank 1 or 2
Repair Mastery Rank 1
Applied Fortitude max rank
Applied Strength max rank
Ram Mastery rank 3
Siege Might max rank
Catapult Mastery max rank
Gandara has small queues!
Don’t worry you still have time to transfer to another first place server to get 500 tournament tickets. Seafarers Rest, Henge of Denravi, Gandara, Gates of Madness, and Dzagonur have plenty of room for Blackgate refugees!
If you actually put some effort into WvW, you would get those points of interest. No, and I hope they never change it. It’s easy enough.
They can easily be converted into currencies just like the dungeon tokens.
The dungeon tokens were crafting materials as well to craft exotic accessories.
What do you think is the reason for the delay of guild unification?
I think the primary reason might be the guild banks. How are they going to handle unifying that when each server had a separate guild bank.
As far as upgrades go, I think it’s pretty easy to just combine all of them together and possibly issue influence refunds for duplicate upgrades.
The build queues might also be causing delays. One server will have this building and another server will have such and such building so how are they going to combine them without interfering with queues and wasting influence.
Activated upgrades I think will be no problem like magic find karma bonuses. However WvW bonuses like +5 supply and such might be tricky to handle.
Finally there is consumables like guild catapults and golems and banners. Don’t think this will be much of a problem because the guild leaders can approve who can activate them.
Sounds like quite a mess to untangle and I was hoping to see the guild chapters unified sooner rather than later. Hopefully its done before June.
bump, I need an answer to this too.
Is it true you get different (more valuable loot) if you bank the champion bags or heavy loot bags (or any of these types of containers) and open them a non-80 (say for example a level 2 character)?
It’s all about crafting. Get your leatherworker to 500 and then you can craft ascended armor. See www.gw2crafts.net for some guides on which materials to buy.
Thanks Hayashi.
To find out if you should sell or salvage a rare item, do the following:
1. Multiply the current Ecto price by 1.125 (this is to offset the 87.5% chance to get an Ecto by salvaging using a Master kit, and thus a 12.5% chance to NOT get an Ecto).
2. Next, multiply the result from 1. above by 1.15 (this is to offset the 15% trading post fee that you will pay to sell your Ecto).
3. The result is the Break Even point for Ectoplasm and is the amount that you must sell a rare for in order to acquire the equivalent amount of ectoplasm via gold.
4. Add the cost of using the Salvage Kit (a Master would be 61c per use)
Here is an example, using the current Ecto price of 35s70c:
((3570*1.125)*1.15)+61=4680You will need to charge MORE THAN 46s80c for a rare in order to sell it instead of salvage it.
You can further analyze this number by using the likelihood of salvaging materials and runes/sigils to offset the price above, but that’s outside the scope of a quick formula for an at a glace decision to sell or salvage.
Wow thank you for the maths sir. Nice! I don’t think I’ll run out of ecto now.
If you are not crafting ascended gear, well, destroy them.
Never a good suggestion to destroy something that may have additional uses in the future. Like many people destroyed Transmutation Stones because they didn’t transmute level 1-79 items. Now they are full of regret.
you can keep it or destroy it “and” you can also whine on the forum, and “maybe” Anet will do something about it “which have a very low chance” since many people already told you why.
I think they might make more use for it, or make a wallet, but I highly doubt they’ll make it sellable on the trading post. But even that is a far fetch.
Please, they are always open to suggestions. They listened to me when I told them about their language chat filter should be disabled in Edge of the Mists.
Listing empyreal, dragonite, and bloodstone on Trading Post is certainly not unreasonable because like I said, they are common items. Do you really think completing world events is really some sort of massive achievement and that dragonite is such a precious material that it should be account bound. No way, you ported to a waypoint and waited 10 min to have a zerg kill a big boss with you. You are the best player ever and you deserve to have that dragonite all to yourself…. wait a minute… everyone in the zerg got a bunch of dragonite too. Cool! Let’s all get more dragonite till our bags overflow. We can do so many things with dragonite! Not!

Those are just there so it “force you to play not the way you want”.
Anet want people who only do dungeon to try out world event or vice versa. Same thing with karma. So people that want karma are forced to do certain activity.
Yes, but there is no problem with Karma because you can store as much as you want in your wallet. Empyreal, Dragonite, Bloodstone Dust is overloading inventory spaces in many cases. Such was the case before they introduced wallet for dungeon tokens and Badges of Honor and Fractal Relics.
Empyreal, Dragonite, and Bloodstone Dust are dropping TOO frequently and we need to be able to sell off excess amount, have wallet to store them, or have more uses for them so we can consume them without destroying and wasting them.
Its just your false perception to categorize those mats as loot. They were never meant to have gold value.
You get the mats from chests that means they are loot. ArenaNet can always add a gold value to them. They can also be listed with the other Ascended items on the trading post with or without a inherent gold value (like food).
EDIT: There is also nothing special or extraordinary about these items (bloodstone dust, empyreal, dragonite) and they are rather easy to obtain in many cases. Common items such as these should be freely traded on the trading post.

What part “You use it to craft terminal gear” makes you think it would be worthless?
Still: No. The entire point of the system is to require you get out and PLAY THE GAME rather than just buy your way to all pink gear.
We are playing the game, but we want to make good use of our extra materials instead of hoarding or destroying them. People still need the laurels as time-gate for ascended weapon/armor so I don’t see problem with allowing excess Bloodstone/Empyreal/Dragonite to be sold on TP.
IMO, this is a terrible idea. I’m not sure where you are getting “a couple silvers” from. If everyone has stacks upon stack in their bank, they will be dirt cheap. Now if you want a vendor price for them and keep them accountbound, then I’m ok with that, but they will be worthless on the TP.
I meant 1 or 2 silvers. Certainly they could fall below 1 silver.
Why not? I think their prices would stabilize around a couple of silvers. The alternative is to add more uses for them.
They fixed an exploit used to move runes and sigils around. Good. Now you must pay the market price and/or buy the extractor if you want to change your runes/sigils just like everyone else.
Just make both. They have different uses but I currently prefer ele slightly over Mesmer because of ele’s great AoE damage.
Thank you for sharing your experiences with flipping. I found it dreadfully boring sometimes but yes it can be quite profitable. Maybe if they added casino noises when u withdraw gold from the trading post it would be more fun.
We want to dump empyreal, dragonite, and bloodstone on the Trading Post please. They clog up a lot of inventories and don’t have much uses.
It would be great if the bloodstone, dragonite, and empyreals could be sold on the trading post because right now there is not much to do with them.
Here are the choices:
Carrion Condition Damage Power Vitality
Rabid Condition Damage Precision Toughness
Dire Condition Damage Toughness Vitality
Giver’s Condition Duration Precision Vitality (weapon only)
Rampager’s Precision Power Condition Damage
Settler’s Toughness Condition Damage Healing Power
Shaman’s Vitality Condition Damage Healing Power
Apothecary Healing Power Toughness Condition Damage
Celestial Power Precision Toughness Vitality Condition Damage Healing Power Ferocity (Small Bonuses)
At the moment, I’m thinking Carrion is best for PvE while Dire is best for WvW… I never liked the Rabid attribute combo mixing condition damage with precision (unless you have a condition trait/sigil that activates on criticals).
Rampager’s doesn’t seem like the best way to maximize condition damage and seems like a middleman between a full condition dmg setup and berserker gear.
Settler’s, Shaman’s and Apothecary all seem a little bit too defensive to me but I keep hearing about “condi tanks” in WvW and maybe they mix dire pieces with a few of these or do they go full dire builds? Maybe they fit in some Rampager’s or Celestial’s as well?
Any suggestions for condi gear for all classes overall? or should I specify a class like engineer, necro, Mesmer, ranger, or warrior?

Come to EU server Gandara if you want to have fun.
From what I understand, the reason last weeks attempt for BG to fix the match failed was because someone on SoS figured out that SoS would get a bunch of matches with BG for the rest of the season and many on SoS very strongly did not desire to be in matchups with BG.
Smart players maybe if another server had more of them…
2v1 is not a breach of conduct. Organizing a 2v1 in advance so you can win trade is both against the code and beyond pathetic. Trading wins to manipulate the entire tournament so you can finish first and second is actually impressively blatant. It will be interesting to see if anet cares enough about wvw to do something about it. They will probably tell us they are working on it, ask for our opinion in a thread, then lock that thread for match discussion.
O please. “2 v 1 is ok as long as its not organized beforehand”. Zerging is ok as long as its not organized beforehand. Yes, let’s all just play the game without a clear plan of attack. JQ and TC have brains to combine forces and plan it out. Now BG response is constantly moan and groan on forum begging for developer intervention.
Hush, little blackgate, don’t you cry,
Mama’s gonna buy you a guild big size.
I would like a listing of what exotics can/cannot be salvaged or used in the mystic forge.
As far as I know
Mystic forge

Karma armor: No
Dungeon armor: Yes
Dungeon weapons: No
Crafted armor: Yes
Crafted weapons: Yes

Is this list correct? Are there anything else missing from the list?
How? From keep lords?
From the keep lord chests.
One NPC is supposed to sell invader/pvt/soldier set for badges only. The other NPC sells soldier/berserker/carrion/knight/cleric/rabid gear for combination of badges and gold. The NPC that sells armor for badges only is bugged and selling level 70 armor to level 80 characters.
There hasn’t ever been a vendor in wvw that sells lvl 80 exotics for only badges of honor.
No. Dulfy’s guide from Oct. 2012 shows the badge only armor in their endgame gear guide http://dulfy.net/2012/10/03/gw2-endgame-gearing-guide/
So it looks like it was nerfed for a long time now and not many people cared because the gold and badge armor was still available. Well, I’m not going to sit by quietly and let them lower the quality of goods without a complaint. The level 80 badge of honor only armor should be restored! (because I want to buy some now without the gold )
It’s OK blackgate players, if you want 500 tickets you can always transfer to Seafarer’s Rest, Henge of Denravi, Gandara, Gates of Madness, or your german friends on Dzagonur.
Don’t see the problem, first NPC i run into is selling 80 gears for some badges/gold as it always did, the second however sells lv70 only for a few badges.
Thank you for confirming the bug. That NPC is not supposed to be selling level 70 armor. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Armor_Trader
Sigh.
One more time.
Click on the other traders….
No thanks required.
I already did click on the other traders. You obviously haven’t.

Don’t post useless advice here please.
Click on the other traders…..
There’s only one Armor Trader and he is supposed to sell level 80 exotics for badges only (no extra gold).
Before this April 15th patch, he would sell a full of level 80 pvt exotics for 1689 badges. Now he is selling a full set of level 70 exotics for 1689 badges. What a rip off! Same number of badges for lower quality goods.
not to worry my friends, you can farm dragonite ore in edge of the mists.
The Armor Trader in your home borderlands now sells LEVEL 70 exotic PVT armor for 1689 badges of honor.
WOW! Yes, I was using my level 80s, and I even switched characters to confirm now he’s always selling LEVEL 70 armor to level 80 characters! You used to be able to buy a full set of LEVEL 80 armor with 1689 badges of honor and now instead you must pay the gold AND badges at the “Armor Master” for level 80 exotics.
Thanks but no thanks. Maybe it’s just a new bug but it’s very suspicious the armor master wasn’t affected as well.
The armor trader also sells Level 70 exotic amulet, level 62 exotic ring, and level 70 accessory. What a joke.
It was a nice video.
Do you get globs of dark matter from crafted exotics or dungeon armor?
No.
I like my mist form and elixir S stomping too ^^
I am looking for one as well.
WARNING! If you do not guest or login on the guild’s home world you will not get guild commendations for the guild missions.
