Are you just text chat following or are you on TS with them ?

If you are on TS then just ask and talk to them, see what and when is the best thing you can do. Also, things such as marauders + frontline = automatic down unless the people you run with provide you with extra sustain, which is the opposite of what a lot of guards do, you shouldn’t need the extra sustain from others outside of certain situations (pushing through chokes etc.) but rather provide it.

And last but not least are you running vanila guard only or DH ? There are relatively big differences.

A CC DH can go longbow / hammer, immob on F2, Dragon Maw. A pure support can go staff / mace shield, which is crap for DPS and has only some CC but the sustain it provides is awesome. And then everything else inbetween.

As a support guard you do not worry at all about your DPS, it is the last or next to last stat you care about, so things such as knights, valk, marauders, etc. etc. which are all DPS hybrids are relatively worthless. Go for base tank HP / Armor + boon duration with a bit of healing power ( around 600ish+) and you will notice a gigantic difference in your support ability and your heals will actually be somewhat effective (for example 5k on F2 usage + boons + better regen).

Trait wise for support you wanna go for starters with virtues, stab on F3, cleanse on F2, and AH for self sustain (later you can change out AH once you get better at it).

For utilities, I recommend for starters to lower your CDs on concecrations, and run purging flames or hallowed ground or wall of reflection + your other stab skills with Renewed Focus as elite. This you can switch around per group / fight types encountered. If you need more cleanse, then switch more cleanse, if you need all stabs, then switch to all stabs (FYI the DH stab trap is your worst stab util by far, but its still there). The one constant in utils should be your stab shout which is also a stun breaker.

HP wise and armor, at 3300 armor you are OK, HP you should aim for is a bit higher though around 20-22k, if you want to keep on tag and provide support for it.

Last but not least, dont be afraid to experiment, recently I even ran sanctuary, to place on tag during pushes or used as additional ranged CC and see people bounce of off it in chokes, that was just uber funnies.

So there is a ton of stuff you can do, and you can switch around, many times you will wipe to a group twice, then respawn, regroup switch around some utilities with 4-5 other people in group and some traits, then keep wiping them for rest of the raid. Not all stuff works same ways against all team comps. For example, if you go up against a power / boon team comp, then having additional condi cleanse is kinda pointless, just takes up valuable slots, likewise going up against a heavy condi not having enough team cleanses will also kill you.

Out of all that, 1st and foremost though, get together on TS and talk it over with your team, and do the starter builds (switch out once you get better) then go from there.

I had been thinking all day since first reply that I had a particular guildie I need to talk to to get things situated. I do use TS and will reach out further…

I had been thinking of dropping my gear back on warrior and building a new set for guardian off first replies slightly vague suggestion for gear but you clearly solidified that.

I like the idea of being at 3.3k armor same as war and my current hp does seem pitifully low. I don’t mind being super bunker on guardian becuase I have beserker if I want to see numbers flying all over the place.

The idea is to supplement our guild raids if we need more guards / stab and being viable in that aspect.

I do have HoT and I have full specialization unlocked so DH is an option at any point but I have read it adds dps for loss of support and the name of the game is support team from not wiping.

I could probably build out a full armor sethe in short order, I have the cash, what set particular do you suggest? It will take time to get full trinkets, low on laurels atm and I’d like to not convert my weapons off of marauders (hammer/GS/staff) becuase they work well with 2 of my other character.

I assume a another full set of durability runes is wise?

1) Are you asking for a build for roaming/small skirmishhes (no more than 4-6 members) or for a guild WvW raid (12+)? Because the demand are way different.

Your GS+Rifle Warrior is mostly a “cloth hunter” which is basically a roaming build, and in scrins or small to mid skirmishes He specializes in taking down enemy casters, as necros, eles, hammer Revs, etc. He has the durability and mobility to endure damage, disengage, and wreak havoc in both long range and mele thanks to His damage.

2) In the Guardian class, if you want to deal damage at range you can use either longbow or scepter; staff doesn’t do damage. Staff is for buffing team mates (Swiftness, Empower…) or to farm bags checking downed enemies with autoattcaks that barely do damage. The longbow or scepter builds are essentially meditation builds, with little in common with the frontliner build from meta battle.

3) In guilds, Guardians provide stability and boons, and sometimes cc (hammer); they are the backbone of the guilds due they are the best source of team stability, but their damage is mediocre (most of them use very defensive stats, from soldier or knight in the bold ones to cleric, commander, mender or even nomad in the most conservative). This means low damage and few “personal” kills. You kill when your mele train tramples a mob.

If you want to save resources, I would advice you to get an armor with marauder stats; marauder armnor can be used for roaming with zerker trinkets, or be enough for WvW raids with defensive trikets (which are very affordable to farm in the new maps). And for the weapons I would recomend valkyrie stats: Guardians lacks HP.

4) In roaming Guardian/DH has a fair amount of sustain, PvP is the best location to learn how to survive as a duelling/skirmishing Guardian/DH. In large groups in WvW the survability of Guardian/DH oftenly depends on how well the damage dealers of yuour team do their job. In other words: as a “cloth hunter” your Warrior works wonders as a freelancer by itself; as a support frontliner the Guardian/DH can’t freely disengage: he must stay with the main group, be in the shadow of the raid leader and survive or die with their fellows. In this role Warrior isn’t only easier to play but also funnier.

For general 10-25man groups usually to answer your first question.

In response to your part-3 – I have a full set of marauders with durability runes.

I understand my warrior role in zerg/groups.

I think your point was that I need to stick tight to tag stack on guardian to succeed and that marauders isn’t optimal for can work?

I think I am looking more…for this post,for suggested stat ranges and skill usage that work well/rotations.

I understand role in group.

I get empower on stack before engage, lines to distrupt enemies push, skill 1 lootstick spam. Curious on stab stack order /timing, other skill timing, retaliation, gs or hammer and thier skills…generally the 3 special passive/activates…

So I level up booked a guardian to 80 months ago to fill a slot and use as a craft both to max jewelry/artificer. (Master crafter now lol)

Anyhow, he sat nude at a crafting station for months and the long term desire was to utilize him as a guild squad support.

I just finished crafting an ascended staff and already have 3 ascended weapons and a full set of ascended on my main beserker. I main the warrior GS/Hammer/Rifle with 25k+hp 3300armor 2.1k attack and am usually last man standing / unstoppable/ hypermobility.

Now I loaded all my gear onto the guardian to give him a whirl (marauders with durability runes) and followed AH Frontliner traits/utilities from metabattle. We didn’t have a tag up so I joined a random tag and got to work…

Now I fully admit that I lack skill knowledge and that could have a lot to do with my inability to play effectively. I have broken down on paper the skills and working on learning. Currently have staff /GS…hammer still on warrior.

We had 3 face offs in the time I had and I melted twice…so looking for advice on how to play. By melting I mean I and maybe 1 other where only ones to die in group which means I’m failing somewhere.

Clearly this wasn’t an organized group and there was no proper party set up.

I think I have staff skills memorized (using swiftness for crafting station to market runs, empower and line just jump out at you and orb is easy enough to understand).

I don’t know, just in believe I’m melting extremely fast. I believe I read somewhere that hp is suggested at 17-18k+ and I know on beserker I had read previously that 3300-3500 armor is enough to be tanky and I’m at 3.1k armor and 17.5k hp on guard. Clearly there is a play style difference between the classes and a 200armor / 10k hp difference but my warrior was excessively selfish build with no support other then res banner.

I imagine I would probably feel more powerful in a set up double guard guild party.

I am used to being so hardy that I can generally dive deep into zergs and tag everything in sight and get back to front without melting.

I just want to be able to keep my uptime (being alive) as long as the main frontline stack.

I’m not so bold as to say that TC doesn’t want/deserve to be in T1 but I did get the distinct feeling while on TC that they didn’t really enjoy the stacking mentality that the other two T1 servers seem to have picked up.

Maybe the pop cap changes will address that.

I find this statement funny becuase sooo many people became “bold” to say just that when dragonbrand hit T1

I think it should be offered to tag’s guild and then open or just open if no tag.

Should be a commander perk to get first dibs. I believe and correct me if wrong, that the order of the 3 claims are in order of dps on lord?

Make it a 10sec to open claim after offered to tag’s guild that was in circle at claim.

That will allow the main guild / zerg taking something like hills the claim glory and then a free for all if they decided not to take, where often you can find a 2 tag situation in hills with dedicated guild groups + pugs but one of the zergs takes defense on bridge and allows first to show up zerg who threw siege on initial outer wall to take lord and claim.

Atleast on my server that’s how we run…generally the organiz3d guild tags play nice and use teamwork. May not apply everywhere.

Easiest class for Zergling? (Not Gaurd).

Keep in mind that necros are a dime a dozen…every zerg has like 12.

Beserker in ascended marauders running gs/hammer is greatly satisfying. You bring little to team support other than dps…Elite banner and if you are weird, other banners. Your personal ability to negate stuns/condi and heavy regen / movement even if your zerg pops you into the crap catch all party and not the meta parties, will allow you to double penetrate (front to backline and then back to front) / stay glued to tag and collect huge bags while generally being close to last man standing in a wipe. Generally 28-30khp, 3300 armor, great regeneration and burst heal, personal stability and condi clear everywhere. My damage is substantial without being glass or bunker….kitten, sometimes a zerg gets the full 100blades treatment in the middle and you can dodge /gs 3 out…at that point you have literally tagged every member of a zerg for a minimum of 1k damage which I have always felt 1k is the bare minimum goal to get your bags.

If guards and Rev are your boon King / heal front liners…zerker are mad man dps running circle train through zerg blobs.

Why no Ascend rewards ?

Stop being paranoid, guys! I’m sure there is a perfectly reasonable explanation as to why WvW has been left behind regarding Ascended rewards.

Gaile would not lie! "ArenaNet developers work on, care about, and support the different modes of playing Guild Wars 2 with equal passion, dedication, and interest.

Very PC and sounds like something my job would post on their website relating to “green recycling”. Unnecessary to tell the public how you care when you are a gaming company. You’re not dealing with tax payers or a board, just providing an video game entertainment service lol

True but from a business stand point…taxes can be unavoidable and a consistent source of income and boards of directors 1 off fire and restructure.

Where as gw2 is a 1x pay to play (retail) or f2p /dl with a cash shop as a trickle income. Unlike taxes, cash shop in a none ripe off game (like gw2) is not pay to win and is completely avoidable.

The income from cash shop comes from either meager advantage (bank slots, extra bags, boosts and unlimited tools) or aesthetic upgrades (skins, pets, make overs)

Incline order to make a completely avoidable income source more consistent you need to work all avenues, in addition to sales / new offers in cash shop, you need to support a happy and healthy community/ customer base. so contrary to managing board members with some semblance of control, gw2 attempts to sway a huge mostly uncontrollable customer base.

So yes, from their pov, being super PC is best course.

Gw2 players are salty and entitled for the most part, and you can’t blame the community of a game for being that way, most of us dropped full retail on core and even HoT. We who still play for years have put countless man hours into this game and we all have a feeling of what our time and effort are worth.

Additionally, as a business you need to weigh cost of projects vs potential profit / impact.

PvE serves the largest portion of the population, game play is catered to the casual and maxing out is easy (80+ exotics, don’t need ascended for regular content ((not including raids and fractals)). That means bang for buck, gw2 has best potential for cash shop profits by using resources to create new PvE zones which makes PvEers happy and likely to use cash shop and anet will lock new zone skins into cash shop.

This is verse pvp…which is limited map and can get cheap quick tweaks to keep that population happy and spending money…

Verse wvw which is a small percentage of population and has a giant list of projects (money to be spent) to make the population happy.

We literally need the maps to all be resigned at some level and revamped. And as you said…wvwers could for the most part care less for skins.

I have not played for a while but I was surprised that Ascend gears was added to the reward of PvP content.
Why no Ascend rewards have been added yet in WvW ??

Anet what do you think this probrem ??
WvW players is still need PvE grind ( FotM,Raid ) for their gears or wait randomly chest bonus.
It is unfair.

I feel that Anet handles WvW content one level below PvP and PvE.
Anet does not want to pay the price to maintain WvW’s server?

I wrote it for a long time, but there is only one thing I want to say on this topic.
Add quickly Ascend reward to WvW.

Not sure if trolling? First post ever and about anot her current thread in forum.

But I digress, PvE isn’t necessary for ascended crafting. I have made 5 peices from 90% wvw nodes….some mats came for 1min in 2 Guildhall a for nodes and maybe 5mins in a PvE iron node circuit per session with the remaining game time (3hrs+ a day) fully in wvw.

It’s a slow process but it is doable. The largest issue is that bottleneck materials are 100x worse in wvw. You drown in ore and wood and even the bottle necks like hardwood / platinum aren’t bad and you tend to get enough of the large quantities required easy enough like iron (I circuit PvE sometimes just to rush process, like iron / platinum and hardwood)

The real issue is cloth / leather…the bottle neck on these is horrible.

I can end a session with 1-2 dozen platinum but 1-3 thick leather.

The proof is that I have 13 Deldrimor Steel Ingot in the bank and can usually make one without farming anything but wvw nodes every 1-2 days and it might take me more then a week to make a Elonian Leather Square.

These are bottleneck mats in PvE too, but it’s just worse in wvw. Granted we finally got cloth and leather nodes which helps but they are sickle based nodes like vegetable nodes and mostly give 1 item with occasional 2-3 vs ore / wood nodes that generally give 3 mats and occasionally 4-5.

Fractal Alt choice?

Thief – zerker gear – d/d SB staff d/p

Good if you are good at it. Good thief can play pretty much all fractals melee without issues. However not amazing carry potential, so will depend on how crappy your group is. If not played well you will be dead more often than not.

Elementalist – soldiers – Staff

Useless. Elementalist is primarily damage class in PvE, so soldiers gear ele is as bad, if not worse than an empty group slot. To make useful, swap to full zerk. Worth noting that zerk ele is super squishy so once again, skill will be required even if in staff.

Guardian – soldiers – Staff s/s

Again, soldiers set in PvE is practically useless. Few bosses can be anchored, but most of the time it is not worth it to do so. Switch to zerk. Likely use hammer as primary weapon due to high group support ability. Haven’t played mine in fractals for a while, so not sure what else they use.

Necro – (don’t remember exactly which set) condi – staff scepter dagger?

Likely the best choice. High survivability, decent damage, easy to play, can carry fairly well if well played. In danger of getting nerfbatted on epidemic, which will hurt.

Out of classes/gearsets provided I’d go with necro followed by thief. Also note that since infusion extractors are relatively cheap, you can always swap between them by extracting the infusions if you realize that you’ve settled on the wrong class.

I appreciate the direct comparison to my opening statement. I did not intend to make it appear as the gear they are in is what I desire to run but rather that the gear they are in are just how they are set up at the moment, the guardian was built for wvw and the elementalist is just in the insta-80 gear from hot. My thief is in old beserker gear from 3yrs ago from roaming wvw and the necro was a royal screw up…I level up booked him to 80 for a guild class training night in wvw and messed up and geared him condi instead of power for the training.

All of this is fluid and I fully expected to regear any of them for this endeavor.

Was leaning on making the ele full power but heard from a guildie that they have like 12k hp, which is pretty scary melting character.

My necro has potential, huge hp pool /shroud…my weapon set I set up for wvw pretty much matches meta battle for fractals and if I bought a zerker set, I could swap between condi and zerker according to tier.

Meta battle guardian has a ton of weapon swapping which I don’t like the idea of, I’d rather have down pat 2 sets really good than switch between a ton of weapons. I do have a svaad’s accended hammer that he could use, which is a good leg up to start.

I have enough heroic marks to atleast fully gear in wvw exotics to start in a regear of any of them in 2mins and I’ve got enough laurels to get trinks set up.

My main in a warrior…and I could run ps warrior in full ascended everything marauders and gs / hammer / rifle but I don’t want to be playing the infusions game daily. Which is why an alt is in question.

You do realize the only reason the majority of people voted to keep it was because we were basically forced to right? Anet blackmailed us into voting to keep it when they said on reddit that if we voted no, there would be no future improvements to wvw maps. So, yeah. Those of us saying we had a choice if we wanted it or not, LOL! We were basically told,“take this crappy map or else you get nothing else in the future”. Its not a choice when you’re forced to do it through threats.

So the anet pool was fake, anet is force feeding us… the map sucks and they lied about their pool

I’m simply stating facts. I can pretty much guarantee if it weren’t for that threat they made on reddit, we would not have the desert bl right now. I’m also speaking based on observation. desert bl is always empty, other maps and eb always have people. no one ever wants to go to the desert bl. If we are unlucky enough to have desert bl as our map, no one even wants to go there to defend if the enemy goes there, we just let them take everything. Based on pure observation, people dont like it. a handful do, but those people are a minority.

facts based on observation. It is a fact that the desert bl is always empty and there are people on other maps. Its a fact that people refuse to go there even when the commander asks them to. We let them take our stuff if we have the misfortune of having our bl be the desert one. Maybe its different on your server, but it is a fact on my server. No one wants to go there except a small handful. The majority hate it and theres nonstop complaining if we end up getting stuck with it as our bl.

perhaps they need another vote, without any threats this time to force us to pick it anyway. I’m not going to waste time digging through their past reddit posts, youre free to do so if you like. they did in fact state that if we voted no, no further improvements would be made in wvw. so yes, we were forced through threats of wvw remaining stagnant. If we were given the chance to vote without that little threat of theirs, there would be no desert bl now.

I find this all weird, maybe DB functions at a higher wave length than where ever you are from.

We run raids in DBL and we will jump maps according to need and or pressure / tactic / distraction measures.

This is from a 492 person guild that runs 25-35man guild raids before adding in pugs and have 5 commanders that do our runs. We run frequently 9pm est to 12pm est in DBL and face both of the other servers, if we aren’t currently red and are in dbl…often we face the other non-red working on fire / air keep.

I have never been in any bl without atleast a 10man havoc per side capping things and usually it’s more substantial than that. The other night (friday) we had 4 commanders in DBL alone with 2 of our zergs being 35+ squadies.

Sure…wvw is dying, whine whine breath whine, sometimes there are nights of burnout and no one seems to be running…but at least in our matchups there is consistently pressure on our home BL and EBG and generally at a minimum there is a havoc if not a commander on the enemy bl, regardless of if it is dbl or alpine.

Maybe you live in Hawaii?

Yeah I have ear buds I won’t even use, with a mic…same as iPhone, one of mine came with my Samsung Galaxy.

Artemis Thuras.8795, good call on specs, though surround sound is just a perk if all it is for is voice but nothing wrong with having music backup…like when I don’t want to mute someone’s kitten ts music bot.

BT would be mad convenient but probably not worth the price tag.

I am atleast looking for a boom mic, not some silly inline cheap earbud mic.

I don’t want to blow it all on just that.

Clearly mic audio quality is most important.

DBL fights are pretty fun. It’s good for solo / small teams to cap as home or enemy since it’s so big and so many locations when you add in shrines. Keep fights are intense as alpine but have different dynamic. Great enemy map to get Daily done in solo.

My main issue is it defaults red which is the bottom server of the match up, additionally red gets top of ebg which I also consider not fair. To be dished out an upside down map ebg and easy cap west towers and also have easy cap huge zone DBL is rough….wish it was rotated so lowest server wouldn’t suffer so much per match up. All opinion though.

There is a lot of neat things you can pull off in DBL and the risk of fall death is greater which is cool.

Wait a minute….how am I gonna buy salvage kits and node tools? Also agree that there needs to be repair option and sell option for all the kitten kitten sigs/runes/junk.

This would take far to much time and possibly put you on queue on your map to leave to go to lobby to handle inventory management.

Sure the portable provisioner gets you siege, but that’s all.

So I spend a great deal of my time on my main in wvw and have slotted everything in wvw infusions.

I mirror my wvw build in PvE with 1-2 minor changeswears with good success.

I don’t want to regear her, create my pve build to suit fractals or load her with agony resist.

So that leaves me choosing an alt to gear exclusively for fractals.

I have been up to t3 so I do have some experience.

Who and how should I build for ease of play for fractals. Desire is for quick Daily before I go wvw on main.

All 4 of my alts are 80 and have full skill/traits unlocked into specialties.

I’ll list them with current setup from memory (may not be accurate)

(I have ascended gs / hammer / rifle and 90% done crafting long bow, which can easily be shared bank over for runs)

(Since these classes are gonna be ascended trinket/accessories at first, will be starting in T1 for awhile)

That’s because us on DB (the people left after the fall) are competent no matter what tier we are and have always respected our linklings. I still remember the last day of ioj with the map wide farewells and thanks.

I wouldn’t be opposed of making BP our brothers permanently. Low tiers linked with lowest tiers equates to populations that aren’t server jumping bandwagoners, else they’do already jump to t2 or a t2 linkling.

Tomes of Knowledge in WvW-Tracks

It is not just too many tomes of knowledge (and thus spirit shards). It is too much of useless green stuff or even more worthless items which just clutter the inventory.

I got 5k+ spirit shards, 9+ million karma, almost 50k badges and 5k+ proofs of heroics.

Arenanet should enable to buy more useful stuff from vendors using badges, spirit shards, karma and proofs of heroics. I would very much appreciate the ability to buy fractal components (Glob of Coagulated Mists Essence), which are needed to infuse rings. I hate to do pve to get the stuff I need for WvWvW. They should allow us to buy ascended backpiece and other ascended stuff. I don’t mind if it has very high cost of badges/proofs of heroics + gold + laurels e.g. something like 150 g + 50 laurels + 2k proofs of heroics for ascended backpiece with selectable stats.

I agree with ring infusion, my main is maxed out with the exception of those additional 3 slots (rings and back peice) and I really don’t want to extract all my wvw infusions to put agony resist back on just to run 50+ fractal PvE when I’d rather spend my time capping towers/keeps.

You said level is unimportant in wvw, this is untrue. Wvw gives you level 80 stats but you lack skills / traits unlocked as well as multi stat armor (3-4 stats vs 1 stat), won’t have access to use ascended and unless your on an alt and main an 80, have no access to hot runes.

Level does matter in wvw, if you don’t believe me…try a level 2 with 1 weapon, no weapon swap, green 1 stat armor, no utility skills and no traits trees.

That and the massive announcement of what server took what camp, tower, keep, etc.

Very annoying and needs an option to disable.

I disagree on this point. This can be useful when you can’t get into map (like mid-zerg battle) and you are in a position of pressure, like say, being in a back and forth behind enemy ebg lines and catching a quick cap announcement of your camp or a paper tower. Allows you to bail and run defense in your territory.

Though yes, scouts serve this purpose and ojs on minimap also give heads up without getting into full map / scrolling mini.

But these aren’t guaranteed information sources and neither grab as much attention as a middle of screen blast.

It is k8nda useless to get the message for your own teams caps.

I am fully geared and I’ve only had 1 armor drop and 1 weapon drop, 1 weapon crafted Farm from PvE, but 3rd weapon, soon to be 4th weapon and all other armor has been crafted purely off wvw loot / tracks and nodes…+ 2 guild’s guild hall nodes.

It is doable…

+ For gods sake, allow WvW players a way to get ascended armor by playing WvW.

You’ve got to craft it. Every objective has grafting material dispensers that refill every so often too.

Hourly…(wvw nodes)

And guild nodes are are 24hrs…

PvE nodes hourly and rich nodes are 24hrs.

Generally if you are running a group that’s capturing often, you can collect off each camp/tower/keep 3-4 times a night.

As for the OP maybe they could be in a pile and moved into positions above stairs and ledges. You then activate a skill to unleash the kraken rocks! They tumble down the stairs or nearest ledge doing 6000 damage and knocking you down for 3s…also unlockable.

Half the time I start my nightly wvw with 1/3 daily to begin with becuase I Farm guild nodes as soon as I log in and there is usually a PvE mine/lumber daily.

Vet 9/10 times is just see and grab, once in awhile your sitting at queued maps and people killing them fast, that’s when you take the super sneak route and run outer edge on an enemies bl, it’s nice to do once in awhile and if you flip NE camp on the way around from harpy to warm, then skip north camp and flip nw camp, you are sending a nice havoc message to the enemy.

Keep sucks when you hit a map like dbblue, see a tag in air keep and run your heart out only to miss the opportunity.

Generally the selection has quick ones like camper, guard, tower…

But keep / rank can be rough, keep your birthday boosters for those days

Laurels are the bottle neck on maxing out all your toons in ascended via crafting @Jim Hunter.6821 . So only useless way down road for a lot of people. I got my main decked out which can share weapons and the armor can share across same armor type but still need to build out the other 2 types full ascended and a couple more choice weapons off the 3 ascended i have. Laurels also needed for the infusions.

I suppose after your maxed across 5 toons, yeah they are only for gold Farm.

Spirit shards I don’t mind, I have a huse amount but they are little issue.

Resonating silver is in the same boat at salvaged runes, I can’t toss them out fast enough.

The only things in wvw that are affected by magic find- that I’m aware of- are the lootbags that drop to the ground (unless you got auto loot on).

Lmao, auto loot is literally the best investment you can make to streamline your experience.

As far as OP, I believe it is not affected. Neither is ranked up chests but you can get ascended off a rank up.

Around 10:30pm est last night we had atleast 3 rolling disconnects, by 3 I mean after that I went to bed.

It was in the very least impacting atleast 21 people (we had a 24man guild squad and 21 people got bounced, team speak helped confirmed)

I would assume it was very wide spread becuase our side during the disconnects flipped sm and they flipped it back all within 15mins without any zerg defense, with little numbers, during issue.

I assume this was game wide, but if it’s helpful, this was affecting DB and their current wvw matchups at that timeframe

I feel the WvW is missing two things.

You’re level 11, you don’t even have all your classes skills, your equipment has 1 stat vs 3-4 stats, you probably have green armor vs purple and you don’t have 3 skill trees….and that’s for vanilla, let alone HoT specialty.

Unrelated to topic at hand but why is this the case? I can understand not displaying pvp/PvE titles in wvw, but what’s the point of the coveted wvw titles if you can’t display them in wvw, not to mention the demoralizing the enemy with Ultimate Dominator?

Demoralise? It makes me laugh because the player has in all probability obtained the title farming in EOTM.

Which is sad, same with karmatrain rank, I have spent a total of 5mins in EOTM.

Missed opportunity I suppose (titles that is)

Since a lot of nameplate suggestions are coming up in this thread I figured I would let everyone know that the simple nameplate feature will be coming. Simple nameplates will be an option to replace either enemy or everyone’s names with a colored icon – red, green, or blue – and the only thing that will show besides the colored icon is the guild tag and commander tag. We want to reduce nameplate clutter in WvW and not add to it, which is why a nameplate suggestion was not one of the 3 proposed solutions. Also it should be noted that titles do not display in WvW (outside of a soon to be fixed bug where they display to squad members.) So displaying your world name through the title system would not be a good solution either.

Just use the suggestion that has been proposed numerous times since you linked the servers.

Color and server abbreviation. For example this week in T2 you would have Red Gold Soldier AR, or Red Gold Soldier YB.

They are both clearly marked as the red team, if people are still confused by that there is no helping them.

On that note, all this talk about confusion…

If the name is red, I kill it, if it’s green I investigate what they are up to or go find red names.

I like the concept of solution 1.

However, having an alliance name puts all (2 or 3) linked servers under 1 name, which is the state we are at now, and does not increase server identify at all, literally makes server identify mean nothing.

However, it does allow the lower server to not feel like they lost their identify to just help the larger server with no reward. Rather solution 1 does make all the servers in a link feel, at face value, as equal contributors

Berserker's or Marauder's?

Per meta build, the currently accepted wvw meta HoT build and Vanilla build are both suggested to be in Marauders armor (zerker accessories).

Good players that know their classes well enough should know everything on Meta Battles should be taken with a grain of salt. If you fully believe that the build is 100% meta than you accept that the sigil choices on that build are correct. Anyone here can tell you sigil of cleansing on hammer and strength on GS is not meta.

I personally would take the advice off more experienced players on this forum over anything on metabattle but your choice on what you want to believe.

its way more than a 10% Damage loss, the armor alone is 5% Add weapons, accessory, amulets full mara its like a lot closer to a 20% Damage LOSS. We are not talking DPS we are talking just damage. DPS is how much dammage you do over time, PVP doesn’t work that way its more about spike damage.

A full Zerker Evicerate might hit a target with 3kArmor for 7k maybe. A Full Mara Evicerate probably hits a target with 3k armor for like 4k and some change lol

Agreed on sigils, and personally I run even less damage with more sucess do to my need to stay up and hitting in gvg / zergs, with knights accessories over suggested berserker, which is completely the opposite side of the map.

we have 20 different stat combinations, 6 trait trees with 3 options of 3 sets of majors per tree for diversity, not counting. Really there’s no way to tell what class the next enemy you fight is, or if their condi/power, or melee/ranged, or Toughness/vitality, etc.. The best you can do is set up your build to counter as much as you can. If you tried to specifically counter one build, you would be incredibly weak against many others.

Also as the title says this is about roaming warriors. This is no team when your by yourself.

I know the title, the point was that if a class excels in one mode of wvw they probably aren’t that great in another…Ala warrior roam v. Warrior team game.

Diversity, you act like all the custom stuff is there for the same reason we have armor skins, some kind of weird aesthetic. Builds are to counter what you are facing.

I’d attest that the warrior roam build is similar to other builds and that you countering a design and yes, countering one design would make you weak towards another, that’s called balance.

I always recall when my server was owning the power builds in group game and we got matched up with Magumma and in the first night, we had people melting left and right because we all were setup to counter stuns and no one had more then 1 condi clear loaded becase condi wasn’t an issue. Then Mag came and we all had to edit our builds to counter their condi bomb.

It is true, as you said there is no way to tell what class you will face and their setup in 1v1…and news flash….as I stated…warriors do die in 1v1…

lol mara is not the meta for warrior in wvw. but there isn’t a huge reason you can’t use it. Berserker+Dura is just fine. You can run a Mara chest piece rest zerker but full mara is pointless on warrior.

I’d say that in wvw, having 6k more hp for survivability would be more beneficial, 10% dps won’t make make/break your ability to down someone compared to staying alive long enough to down them.

Buying ascended gear with WvW badges

The drop rates from the reward tracks seem decent to me. I haven’t done fractals for years so I wouldn’t know if it’s better there or not. I’ve gotten several ascended rings and ascended armor/weapon chests from random loot boxes in the dungeon tracks, the maguuma tracks and the triumphant armor track. The loot boxes from the new bloodstone fen and ember bay tracks haven’t given me anything decent, so maybe only a few tracks have boxes with good drop rates.

But keep in mind that the emry Bay track filled a couple times is the fastest way to get an ascended back peice
