i like the proposed change since it gives more incentives to actually use the skill instead of just letting it sit there for the passive. but playing with the numbers may be tricky

I think Skullcrack is a good place now. Ideally, all of our high impact skills should allow for counter-play via a clearly telegraphed attack animation. It’s something we’re constantly thinking about when we look at existing skills, and doubly so when we brainstorm new ones.

Like I mentioned a hundred times, it’s not simply a matter of making F1 hit slower. It’s also nerfing the overall dmg by not being able to cycle in those auto attacks in between which resulted in a net loss of a huge dmg

Seriously, how do you kite a GS/LB warrior with perma swiftness via SOR/FS. I’ve done solo roaming with this build for months and won like a gazillion 1v1+. Mesmers are the only class which gave me trouble. But thats true for most professions cause mesmers are king of 1vs1.

I play warrior in WvW since headstart. I played almost any build in WvW both before and after warrior love.
Really, if you get kited as a warrior your doing it wrong. Maybe you dont know half as much as you think you do!?
if you think warriors don’t get kited because they got some running skills in wvw, you clearly don’t understand pvp. it’s mainly the kiting issues in spvp where classes can run in circle while kiting warrior unless they run bola / bull charge (mostly bola and running both is out of question) but even then near impossible (especially since bola is so unreliable)
try playing real pvp against players w/ equal gear then post on this thread

Are you kidding? There are so many tools on the warrior which prevent you to be ever been kited again: Rifle, Longbow, Greatsword, Sword, Bulls Charge, Bolas, Rampage, …

I guess from these comments I am the only one who likes the new mace? I don’t know about you guys but I feel like the new animation makes the mace feel even more powerful.
Animation may be but you gotta realize that it’s a large drop from dps in spvp situations.
I personally use Mace and shield together so let’s take that as an example.
Previously you could Shield 4 for stun, an auto attack, and skull crack without losing stun chain.
you could also do a Mace 3 (daze) into an auto attack then into F1 without losing a stun chain.
Now you have to skip that auto attack if you’d like to continue the cc chain (which you would in 90% of the situations in pvp).
This is significant because:
a. you lose the attack from auto attacks, which is a huge portion and
your overall cc chain is now shorter because you’re rushing into the next part of the CC.and now you can’t sneak in an auto attack after using mace 3 before stunning.
‘be patient with the mace changes’? why?
Mace was already a weapon that was complete crap apart from the CC it provides due to its little mobility and its slow attacks.
After the unsuspecting foe nerf, burst mastery nerf and the increased cast time (which makes it even more difficult to land now/be intercepted) it is a complete garbage weapon.
Thank you for nerfing mace because hammer is op.

1. Ranger pet AI. Why have you still not fixed their AI so that once the target moves out of the pet’s line of sight, pet’s skill goes on a CD as if they used it? Why are pets that need to face targets to use spells (e.g. lightning breath by drake) completely worthless in spvp?
there are a lot of problems with Ranger pets, but this is not one of them. Drake F2 is powerful with counterplay, a model that more burst abilities should follow.
a better problem to resolve is why that Drake F2 ( or any targeted pet ability ) will not path to the target within the first 2 seconds of a petswap, but instead will simply fire off in whatever random direction the pet faces on swap. this bug renders Quickness irrelevant for a number of pet choices & has been here since launch. it is another reason why Wolf is so hard not to take; AoE actives are not affected by this bug to the same degree ( so long as you are not moving when you swap—another bug ).
Drake is far from worthless in PvP ( sees very high tourney use ). Blast, cleave, highest aoe F2, highest power among pets, good toughness & huge vitality for EB soaking.
the spell may be powerful but worthless in my books if unreliable. and the fact that the spell is powerful isn’t really a viable excuse as to why it’s buggy as hell. I’d rather have them nerf the damage but make it a sure fire.
In the ranger sub forums like a month ago a dev said it would be too much work to fix the AI :/

It’s undeniable that there are many traits that are literally never picked because they’re too worthless compared to many other great options out there. Anet, you claim to avoid balancing by hammering down the sticking points but that’s exactly what you do. Why don’t you buff those traits that get never picked and bring them to others’ level to promote alternative builds rather than hammering down (pun intended) the flavour of the month builds like hambow?
Unaware of such traits? Probably need to do homework.
3. Skyhammer in arenas: enough said.
4. your matchmaking is based on win/loss ratio rather than ranking.
I understand you may fix this in the future but the fact that it was implemented kitten from the very start makes me wonder just how little grasp you have over spvp (especially if the majority of the players have ~50% win ratio).
5. You don’t have enough staff.
sPVP content release (almost non existent), balance patches, and overall changes are being released way too slowly. I sound like a child throwing a tantrum because I want more things, faster but that’s exactly what the overall population is thinking.
As a game aiming for e-sport, I’m sure you’re aware that you’re not the only pvp-driven game in the market. But there is an undeniable fact that you’re the slowest (excluding those no budget games) in balancing/content addition in that market, which obviously resulted in the drastically decreasing number of ‘pro’ players who seek other games who better suit their needs rather than waiting over a year for a small balance to be added.
when we asked for more maps we didn’t ask for stupidly unbalanced map that’s forced into our throats. either make it better or give us a way around it like templates/quick spec changes
Either get rid of Skyhammer from arena or at least give us an easier way to change spec/equipment.
I realize that some specs are obviously better than others on skyhammer but it’s hard to bother with short timer and the unnecessarily difficult ways to change gear/traits

i appreciate the post, wintel. i understand that it would ‘not be a simple change’ but it shocks me how it’s been more than a year and they still cannot accept that matchmaking cannot be based on win/loss rate.
the fact that they came to that conclusion initially is what scares me..
If this whole MMr based on win/loss isn’t enough (which is quite possibly the worst matchmaking idea anyone could think of), this game’s filled with 4v5’s and griefers that are completely ruining the game.
Give us an option to report players and an option to replenish leavers with new players. Give us an option to make the game not count towards our stats if more than 90% of the game is 4v5.
Address the mechanics before you even touch on the classes.

I feel that the main reason why great sword feels clunky is that ultimately, you end up using physical skills with them which in turn makes the sword feel clunky.
I think it’s a pretty simple fix, too:
1. make the physical skills like bola and bull charge INSTSANT CAST. I don’t even know why bola has a cast time considering it also has to travel to the target (not to mention short range) in order to hit. On top of that, it can be blocked, line of sighted, over terrible. If it hits, high reward, misses, its cooldown worthless.
Please make it more consistent with lower reward.
2. don’t make the physical skills go on a 3 second cooldown when used while facing the other way.
In other mmo’s, they wouldn’t even cast a spell like this unless you’re facing the target.
In GW2, if you cast the spell while you’re facing away from the target, for instance, it puts your skill on a 3 second cooldown (which is valuable in a pvp setting). this is unneceessarily long considering how fast line of sight changes in pvp.
Please make it ~1.5 second instead.
No, please. Don’t make it that easy. It’s the only “hard” thing about GS. I’m a theorycrafter, I like warrior because there are so many different things that you can do. Don’t make it the “noob class”, a class that is supposed to be easier.
Bro Tip: try to use your physical utilities when you already are very close to the enemy. They will barely notice Bolas (which will have a much smaller chance to fail) and won’t be able to avoid Bull’s Charge.
dont you think it sounds a little bit silly that the warrior has to be upclose just to use these ranged utility skills in fear of them missing (which they most likely will since bola can hit anything in its path first)?
as flissy said, make sure you are holding the weapon with the sigil when you get the kill or else it won’t work.

Why are 4v5’s even allowed to start? Or what about 3v5’s?
I feel like this isn’t really ANet’s priority and that’s quite sad. Their way of looking at it is probably like this: over time, number of time you’re in a 4v5 situation will balance out with the number of 5v4’s you have, so in the end it’s fair.
but it’s not fair for all players involved to suffer through this grossly unfair game because you guys don’t feel like dealing with the issue. It’s as simple as putting the game on hold and putting the next person in the queue into the team.

they just spam heart seeker or just restealth for backstab n hit me for 9k . there’s not enough cantrips in the world to save me or outheal their damage. what am i doing wrong?

Renewing Stamina is staying in Adept. Elemental Atunement is being moved up to Master. Blasting Staff is being moved down to Adept.
- If you were already going 30 into Arcana for Evasive Arcana, your build will not change.
- If you were already going 10 into Arcana for Renewing Stamina (eg. a lot of PvE builds), your build will not changed.
- If you were already going 20 into Arcana for Elemental Atunement and Renewing Stamina, your build will not change.
- If you were already going 20 into Arcana for Blasting Staff and Renewing Stamina, your build will not change.
- if you were already going 20 into Arcana for Blasting Staff and Elemental Atunement, your build will not change.

above build will make you incredibly squishy, btw. not only stat wise but you also don’t have a shield.
keep in mind that in tournaments raw damage warriors aren’t that popular
i’d personally recommend rune of the soldier for shout builds.
shrug it off is pretty much a must too. an auto 2 condi removal every 30 sec that heals for 1.7k? yes, please.
i dont have complaints about bunker guardian. at least they can’t kill you. the reason why bunker engi is op is that they put out so much condition + cc that you’re forced to play defensive when you’re the one trying to get them out of their point. no bunker should be able to dish out that much damage

Auto target in gw2 is really polished and most of the time it’s really great in pvp.
There are some areas where it’s not so useful. for example, when you want to RTL away or warrior sword 2 away.
I think it’d be really improved for spvp so that if you cast a spell immediately after left clicking (de-selecting your current target), your next skill cast within 0.5 second will not auto-target the nearest enemy.
I thought you were able to land it just barely before the person gets up but i can’t seem to. the perosn just rolls away… is it just me?
