I disagree… I can outheal a cleric guardian on my magi guardian.

I can also outrun a centaur.

uh, they give the same amount of healing power. Cleric guard would be tankier though.

In some situations, magi gets to heal dodge more through the more frequent crit vigor procs.

I imagine it’d hit like a wet blanket tho… what with having next to no way to deal damage anways… =/ Doesn’t seem very practical of a stat set for guardians.

Not even gonna bother reading most of this thread, but thought I’d jump in and leave a note for once!

So, my small team has been practicing a lot more recently and tonight the 6 of us took Devona’s Rest Keep in EBG! Well, to be fair, there were 2 defenders until the last minute and it’s not exactly a big thing, but….

We broke in, killed a few DR defenders who showed up, killed the Keep Lord and jumped in the circle just as a group of DR showed up (Probably about 4-6? Heat of the moment, couldn’t count). We managed to pull of the capture AT THE SAME TIME DR banner’d their Lord and we got to witness to Keep Lords duking it out xD

He’s referring to the bandwagon to and from Kaineng in the past 6 months. We’re finally stabilizing but there for a while just one wrong word and 10+ guilds went bye bye, now understand that the majority of the guilds causing the problems were guilds that had transferred into Kaineng who then proceeded to destroy our community with the neverending egotistical ‘my commanding is better than yours’ fights. Those bad people are gone now though so we can rest easy at night. Kaineng as a server has been through quite the ringer and those of us left in Kain have to deal with the leftover hate for our server those guilds instilled in the other servers.
Hence all of the nonsensical “OMGZ KAINENG IS TANKING FOR BRONZE LEAGUE” QQing on the forums, guess they weren’t informed on the severe population drop that hit our server right before leagues lol.

Enlighten us with some of the Kaineng internal drama… You guys are last on the drama-score in this thread right now….

Well, if they are a great deal of the off-hour coverage, we can say they are carrying the server… For exemple: I’d say [Dx] is carrying HoD, as if wasn’t for them, HoD wouldn’t win against SF as they would never surpass SF prime time and have no one to take advantage of SF off-hours.

In lower population servers, 1 or 2 guilds CAN carry a server if they are placed in the correct timezone…

But once they hit a higher ranked server that have a big coverage, then the “carrying” of those guilds would end.

A guild usually reflect it’s leadership… I’m pretty sure that if players from a guild are allowed to do somenthing without being called, it is because the leadership aprove such things, thus it do reflect at least a good part of the guild.

And yes, that apply to IoM too… Just because they are my server-mates, it doesn’t mean I don’t find some of them extremely disrespectful (I even have some fights with them). However, if their leadership aprove this kind of attitude on his guild, it’s somenthing out of my reach to solve.

I belive that when a person is representing a guild, this person is acting as a representant of the whole. They follow the guild rules, and represent the guild toward those who not belong to it. And the actions of this person will make people get their thoughts about the guild…

I had to work a lot to clean my name after I entered in a guild that had a lot of bad-blood on the server so I belive my point is valid.

hahaha GoM has no right to talk about T8 yet. They were T8 for what…. 2 weeks before leagues started? We Fergs were T8 for almost a YEAR! Until August our total match wins was TWO! Then, without any transfers, we recruited PvE’ers from within and restructured TS and other changes while other servers imploded, leading to us winning 4 out of 6 matches prior to season 1 and pull ourselves up out of T8… for good.

The only other server that can claim to have done so with no significant transfers is ET however they went right back to T8.

It used to be ET was the only server we could beat. Now we are comfortable against ET, AR, DR, GoM, and KN. We also beat SF and DH before season 1 but we’d already heavily recruited our PvE base and don’t have a big one to begin with, so once SF and DH took advantage of that same opportunity it definitely gave them a leg up on us. For now

Jeknar isn’t even from Gate of Madness so not sure which of us are talking about tier 8.

We’ve been in tier 8 a couple times and not for very long either. I’d say it has a lot to do with how the winds are blowing and how much our PvE folk wanna show up. We didn’t get transfers, we’re still the same server with the same people that a month ago lost to ET, AR, FC. There isn’t anyone that we’re not capable of losing to if our morale is bad enough.

Of course, I dunno how much morale is in anyone’s control so I feel like how the server does is mostly out of my hands ankitten ot really to give out credit to anyone, haha.

I didn’t understood his post, thus why I simply ignored it… I just said GoM left T8 without help from outside (which is true), and suddenly the reply is about how amazing FC is…

Yeah we’re pretty bad. That’s why getting a GvG against us would mean so much to some, as they have been obsessed with it for 2 pages now. Trying to prove yourselves or what? :-)

On our part, we don’t feel the need to prove anything. If it was brought in another manner, we might get a small group and GvG. I like to get to know people from others servers and exchange. Stay classy in your requests (just like MU), bring them up with respect instead of contempt, and you might get a more positive response. We can care less about your funny taunts.

We enjoy WvW. A large portion of our guild is PvX and casual, not hardcore WvW/PvP. As Styx said, just like RH, we might be able to get a 5 man together for some GvG and learn a thing or two from you guys. It all depends on who’s online at the time. If you want a 5v5, hit me at N-A primetime and I’ll see what we can do.

Also if anyone (sup Skosh) wants a 1v1, hit me or Paragues. I don’t run a good duel build, but I like to duel nonetheless.

Your predictions seem reasonable, but nothing is decided yet. I wouldn’t outright say that 2nd and 3rd are decided. I can remember great fights with FC, DH, and GoM at different times. It will be a challenge for any of those servers to overthrow SF for 2nd, but it is possible. In my eyes 3rd place is still a toss up of who wants it the most. Also, to say that the other rankings don’t matter isn’t really fair. SF, DH, FC, and GoM have already been discussed here, but KN, DR, ET, and AR still have things to fight for. First, nobody wants to be dead last. Second, ANet hasn’t specifically said what the reward chest will hold. I personally hope that it has good loot for everyone who participated enough to get the key. Finally, I think that there are going to battles to enjoy and tactics to learn as Season One comes to an end. Everybody should be able to enjoy that.

Sorry, but I’m grumpy about this season as the only thing I’ve got from it so far was a major headache… I just want it to end already and hope things get better after it.

’Preciate the vote of confidence server-mate.

I placed enough confidence on ET already… I got frustrated on all those votes.

I guess it’s time to face the truth and start looking in how fix the mistakes we’ve been doing. There is little point in me saying “Hey, we’ll beat AR” while actually AR is outplaying us (pay attention at the key-word, it’s not outnumbering). We have a group of ~20 people trying to retake our stuff from an AR group of the same size for about 2hrs already and, so far, the best we got was a wipe at garrison lord’s room.

There is a lot of stuff that we need to fix on ET, but I will not discuss that here (it’s not appropriated anyway). But I can say that we need to put ourselves in our place and stop thinking we are awesome when we clearly are not… Once we figure our limits, we can start working on expand those in order to improve. But as long as we think we are better than we actually are, we’ll just keep stumbling in the same things, and not improve at all.

I give props where it’s due, and I give props to Anvil Rock for their game so far.
As for GoM, coverage/population imbalances doesn’t allow me to give you anything… Maybe when we reach the same state again we can talk about that.

Bronze league has proven to be a blast. Second and third place are still up for grabs to whoever wants it the most. SF has noticeably improved as a server over the last two weeks. DH, FC, GoM… if you have your eyes on taking second place from SF be prepared for a good fight. I would suggest that all servers bring their A game in any fight against any server regardless of how dire the situation appears. You might get wiped, but try to figure out why the clash didn’t go your way. Good communication, proper builds, effective scouting, roamers flipping camps/killing yaks, and maintaining proper priorities in the micro level (battles) as well as the macro level (map control) are what win your server victories over the coarse of a week. Keep it up everyone.

2nd and 3rd are solely reserved for SF and DH. We just don’t know who will get what. FC will lose their shot at third next week against HoD (just as GoM).

Other than that, I don’t think the other positions are important:

We changed that by taking over their map with a 15 man zerg. We faced roughly the same amount of oppositon from ET. – Questionable: The time you wiped our borderland is the time we usually have no one around. But you must have a video of that, don’t you?

I find it amusing that you can’t even post a video of wiping GoM, instead you rely on a video that has been heavily circulated of another server doing a WvW match. – True: Yeah, no videos about that (At least from my part, but I’m not the person bragging)… I personally don’t film everything I do on WvW. But if you do, I guess you can post a video of the above questionament?

At any rate, any thing you can do, we can do better. – True: With more people/coverage, any server can do anything better than servers that do not have the same amount of people/coverage.

I doubt anyone would simply lay down and let one specific server control our stuff to just attack the other… We all know that’s not going to happen.

At best we could choose to attack one of the two while we controled all our stuff, but seeing that we barely can hold our stuff against GoM/AR, it’s more likely that we’ll be cleaning our stuff over and over while SF and DH have a 1v1.

I’d suggest DH to keep looking if SF is zerging ET stuff, and cap what their zerg leave behind… Otherwise, SF will just keep a high ppt with paper stuff while you are bashing your heads against Iron Walls somewhere else…

But we still have 10 days until that matchup comes up… Many things can happen.

I somewhat disagree that our league wasn’t already decided on the first week aswell…

Almost everyone was already expecting that HoD would win (after beating the only wild card on the play: Kaineng). HOWEVER, after seeing the massive numbers that SF fielded in the first weeks, people thought that they may had a chance on beating HoD. (SF always been massive, but hell, you had to see their zergs at week 1… I thought I was fighting SoR back on Blackgate again…)

The only competitiveness we have on Bronze (and at some extend at mid-silver) are the servers fighting to get a better rank than the others (which have 0 chance of happening on Gold), but that doesn’t really change what was already hapenning on the pre-season. Except that we’ll not “win by losing” like on glicko ratings.

BTW, DarkHorse has the lead and even Kain is slightly in front of FC… Go DH!
