Fortunately its a forum where I am free to tell you basically anything I want and you are free to agree or disagree however you want. If you want to do that constructively go ahead, if not, that’s your choice.
I have yet to see someone from ET defend the strategy in question. Why? Because it was stupid and indefensible and if they lose this week, they have that Karma train to thank. AR was fighting smart last night, back capping our Hills and wiping the ET Golems out going for points and not Karma. I suspect if more ET were more concerned with winning 2nd and less concerned with loot gathering, it would not even be a close contest today and AR would have been buried. Those 50 ET guys last night could have done some real point damage holding our BL.
You still didn’t answered my question, so I will make it clearer for you so you can see my point:
Why would people go through a stressfull push for second (having to solely focus on AR while having to defend against FC at same time), when getting second in this matchup will earn us the same thing that if we just get 3rd?
For me, a karma train for the rest of this season will be much more productive than dumping money, and staying up late for getting points in a league that we have no chance of getting in a rewarding position.
FC were at the bottom of tier 8 for so long, I think we know enough about it to comment.
And yes, it does suck to lose all 3 of your fully upgraded keeps to idiots on a karma train who should be fighting for position and points, which is what WvW is supposed to be about. If you are happy to be a server that’s in the basement, then I guess its ok with me. We collectively at FC chose to try to get better and we did. We got no new players, we stepped up our play. Personally I am disappointed, I am used to seeing better out of ET.
Tell me, what your server will gain from this league that ET will not? I bet it’s a [Heavy Bag of Nothing] because you will not make it to 3rd…

Good fights on EB this night… After having to clean up the mess you guys made on my keep, I was stuck on sieging and upgrading duty…
We had some good fights at Durios Gulch with FC (We won once and lost once).
And we also had AR to come down trying to rush our keep (and they almost made it, they got wiped on lord’s room). Nice try AR. Even better than our two tries on your keep… The place was entirely covered with AC fire and we had nowhere to move. I don’t know how ET wasn’t being able to hold Overlook like that (no, I do know why, but it’s not the topic here). Now I see why FC didn’t took it for the last 30 hours…
You’ve been in bronze league enough, I’m gonna do away with this misconception. You’re one of the biggest groups that any WvW guild in this league can field.
For example, if you see any group of 15+ on Gate of Madness, it’s a pick up group. If you see any guild that is 15+, it’s not even PvX, it’s a PvE guild.
From my experience, what you’re saying is untrue. [MU] feilds somewhere between 20 and 25. You will at times find another 5 running with us, but we run without a commander tag whenever possible to keep pugs from following and being rally bots for our foes. We are a tight group that play together as often as possible, and we value group play, build synergy, and communication at the highest level.
This is in sharp contrast to guild groups you will see on a nightly basis where the beliefe is that the number of players = winning side. I won’t name guilds but there are pleanty (on every server) you will see with this mentality that run with 50-60 when they are in WvW.
I don’t see where what he said is untrue… I don’t see much “Hardcore WvW guilds” down here that can field a full 25 man. In fact, I highly doubt that ANY guild down here can field that much besides CoSA (which is PvX).
Also you didn’t said anything to contradict what he stated, so his argument still stand.
Oh yeah, DH will need to beat FC again next week if they want to try for second… That problably will be the most intense fight on the league (problably much more than HoD/SF fights), as DH will come with all they got to still have their shot at 2nd.

Didn’t DH almost lose to FC, the server we almost beat by 100k? And didn’t DH lose to us by almost 50k? I’m not saying you guys didn’t improve or whatever but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.
I’m perplexed by perplexity runes myself, really doesn’t take a lot of skill to interrupt in GW2. I’ve played a few different classes using Perplexity, sadly it’s easier than playing a D/P perma stealth thief.
I’m not knocking anyone that takes advantage of them, if someone is stupid enough to attack with 10-20 stacks on them they deserve to die. I just wouldn’t gloat about it.

I know perplexity is cheesy, so if i run in some perplexity based character i simply walk away (Yeah, I’m good at ignoring people, and if confusion is their main damage, it will do 0 damage to me) and they can’t do a thing about it…
Also, having condition as the new meta (oposed to the old power meta), we are seeing a much larger number of condition based builds which can take advantage of this rune (that came out just as the meta changed).
HoD folks, do you think Dh will stand a chance against SF in week 7?
When you guys came alive in the middle of our last match you looked good. Its been said that DH has more folks then HoD, I dont know. But if thats true then I dont see why you guys cant beat SF. SF wont like me for saying this but I think DH has more skill per player than SF, and I do believe DH is the better server when you are bringing your A-game.
But DH needs to improve their zerg control (because SF seems to get better every match) and after 2 weeks with HoD they are going to be better than in week 1 at zerg control (which is not the same as player skill where DH still has the edge). You need to motivate your troops to come out and fight a hard match for a chance to claim second. DH needs to be as consistent kitten which I didnt see in our match. DH needs to come up with a plan to deal with SF’s massive peak-time zergs and you have to want to win bad enough to fight them toe to toe on the weekend where their zergs are the largest in bronze. If you wanna win week 7 you need to start prepping now.
Best of luck in the possible fight for second. Closing the league on a week 7 nailbiter between SF and DH would be very cool. GL as well as to the servers in the solid contest for 3rd, and the possible fight for not-last. (GoM you gonna try for 2nd in our match? we aint gonna help decide 2nd and 3rd, so its up to you).

DH will also need to focus more on Denying SF points, than just go around and capping stuff. That mean ET is going to be the wild card of their matchup…
While I pretty much would rather hit SF (Which mean EB will problably be fighting over SF side), I don’t think everyone will just sit around and “help DH to win” (as it mean we’ll be 3rd again). Many people still think we could have beaten DH on that week and I’m sure they will be up for more…
Also if DH constantly hit ETBL, you’re likely to hit a nerve of some of our borderland commanders and they will send their massive golem rushes on your keeps.
But again… I’m just a pug commander on ET, I do not have control over what will be happening with the main force.

I myself originated from Maguuma. I did play on TC for some time, TC is a flip flop server one week we would win by a landslide the next we would lose by 100k. To add on to that, sitting in a 4+ hour queue since the league started wasn’t fun either.
I love it here in bronze, funnest time I’ve had in WvW. Sure as hell beats trying to do 20-30 v 80 on a nightly basis.
PS: This is for you and King both research a bit TC isn’t a T1 server. TC is probably the worse server to be stuck on WvW wise.
I ex-ferred from Blackgate to get away from the people up there… There is quite a bit of disrespect when you’re not part of one “WvW guild” (yes, I was am a pug)… However ET have the bad karma of attracting BG guilds (Like Agg).
Also all my real experience at WvW came from down here… I’m no better than what you are facing. My commander tag was brought on ET as people asked for me to do it because of the lack of commanders. You can consider me a T8 player ever since. I’m really ex-T1, but in organization terms, I’m problably stuck at SF/FC/ET weeks.
As i decided to just get away, I came alone and not with a bunch of guildies buddies that fought WvW for a long time.
On a side note: I transferred out of BG when it was being Bandwagoned by SoS (When JQ became a killing machine and they couldn’t bear to lose on T1). So if I left when BG was starting it’s “glory” I don’t really feel like a bandwagoner.
Outmanned is so common for me that I forget it can disapear… But I’ve heard many complaints about deserted borderlands that were queued for their servers…
With some many [V(insert another letter here)] tags, I think i lost the track… But yeah, It was VK for FC… I belive I was on my two month vacation when VS came to SF, that’s why I can’t remember…

Also I couldn’t agree more brother, always some flavor of the month coming down here trying to be something. Hitch your wagon to them HoD, lets see what happens, I am sure it will be good for you. I mean those guilds always stay and help build extremely solid communities, just ask Kain, Dragonwagon, and any of the other bandwagons.
Don’t forget the “StormBandwagon Isle” and the “Isle of Fort KickAs-penwood Janthir” (Which ended in both the colapse of IoJ and FA)… I find it funny that none of the wagons that came by could carry ET high to drop us down again… I guess our burden is too heavy and ‘we never learn’.

Jek, we’ve been defending some REALLY crazy stuff in our BL all week so it’s really more than just watching the “south camp” as you’ve described. There have been many times were AR was hitting something with their zerg while Ferg has simultaneously been hitting something else with their zerg. Sometimes, they even hit the same thing! It’s intense and honestly it takes everyone we can muster.
With that being said, you’re doing an excellent job in EB and I commend you for holding it down as well as you have. Kudos to your, sir.
Additionally, I’d like to thank Master Junior. I believe he also spends a ton of time in EB and has, just recently I think, been spending some time in the ET BL, and done really well.
Both of you guys catch a lot of grief by not being on TeamSpeak (you’ve just recently started spending more time on there though) but your contributions to our server should not go unnoticed. Great job to both of you guys. I sincerly appreciate your efforts.
I’m not speaking of this week specifically, this situation been hitting us ever since i came back in august. And now even worse when the leagues started.
The ‘southern camp watching’ part is a jab on the many times I’ve asked for help to protect our fully upgraded overlook (over the last weeks) and I’ve received responses saying that they were fighting over the southern towers or that they were trying to protect our paper hills that was flipped before, or simply Home Borderland is more important than EB (this one infuriates me).
And because of some ‘issues’, unfortunely I won’t be leading EB anymore (There is info about that on our forum). Although I might still be around.
Our choice to move was a due to a confluence of factors, padding HoD was not one of them. The goal is for HoD to move up to Silver League so we can have more fights!
If you wanted fights at silver, why didn’t you moved to silver server in the first place?
All you high tier guilds do is come down here, faceroll the oposition (as its mostly composed by players that aren’t hardcore, after all, you don’t find ‘champions’ on the ‘losing’ servers), boost your egos, talk smack, and go away saying you are bored…
We do have our own “T1-cancer” on ET as we also had Agg down here before. It’s all the same crap as always…

Replying to this awefully late, but yes. I do. I think that you will probably need to step up your tactics because SF will outnumber you during peak NA hours, but yes you have a pretty good shot.

I don’t think population is the issue (at least against AR). ET has the bad habit of putting everyone in the same place, leaving everything else wide open… EB is the major example of that: We’re constantly with outmanned buff (People are usually on ETBL), we rarely get help there (because someone is attacking the southern camp of our borderland so ETBL can’t spare troops), and everytime we get a commander on EB that’s not me, it simply walk away back to ETBL after flipping a few paper towers (sometimes even without saying to people on map chat).
The situation we constantly face is very frustrating sometimes…
I have to give ET credit for their siege usage. You guys have all the right siege in all the right places to defend your stuff. You make it incredibly difficult if we can’t keep things paper. Nobody is going to take your garrison this week unless it’s while you are asleep.
It flipped 30mins ago… Siege is useless if there is no people to man it.
We had a lot of siege at bravost tower yesterday through the whole day… We kept FC and AR out of it even while it was paper (The first attack on Bravost after I sieged it up happened while we had only decoy oil upgraded). And we kept it for the course of 11 hours (when i finally logged off). Right now bravost is a paper green tower… Just as everything else on our EB corner.

Looking on the character, i think I know this mesmer… And if it’s who I think it is, he really doesn’t have a tag (although he play a lot).
SF has gotten some individual person transfers from upper tiers for the largely same reasons, but we have never had any large guild hop down to us and stay. Only guild that did was VS, they were cool, they said upfront they werent staying, just goin to hang out and do some WvW for a month or 2. So they said what they were going to do, and did what they said which is all right.
This is a match-up thread, not best build’s/professions for commanding thread. Please move on.
