Champ trains should never have been a way to level up. Good riddance to the low level champion trains if that’s how people were using them.
Yes because people should level up their 3rd, 4th, 5th or whatever alt the way you think they should right? And out of curiosity how do you suggest people level alts? What way is acceptable to you?
My whole argument was how poop isn’t an inappropriate reference to human anatomy or bodily functions. Anyways, I don’t know how to use tickets, or if I have any. I will try to find out.
Here you go, good luck and please remember to only submit one support ticket. Duplicate tickets will slow down your response.

On a side note, I’m pretty sure I have seen one or two other people post here with the same problem related to the same word. As I recall they didn’t have much luck getting the name back.
Edit: Here is a response from Gaile a while back in regard to the word “poop”.

So you might want to save support the trouble of reviewing your ticket.

I think most people aren’t complaining that they are getting bupkis for hard-earned blade shards.
I’m sorry but blade shards dropped like crazy during the LA event. They were by far not hard earned.
At most, they should of said something calmer, such as: “rumor has it that a vendor is coming to town that will buy blade shards from you”, then not insist people to save save save them.
Oh and they did pretty much exactly what you said:

Trading
Rumors tell of a merchant interested in items from major events in Tyria’s recent history, including Blade Shards. Players are encouraged to hold on to these items if they are interested in trading with her when she appears.
(edited by JustTrogdor.7892)
Careful now what you complain about. They might just nerf the bosses/champs so no one wants to do them in an effort to reduce the effect spam.

Jade quarry completed -Fyi, all is megaserver now. Either way, we have run several gold wins last night in our tts flow, and I agree. It is very very fun
.
Rewards pretty much consist in 6-8 champion bags, 15 gauntlet tickets, 45 festival tokens.
Good to see it’s mega servered. How can people join JQC?
You can’t it is crap shoot if you end up in a megaserver where people want to coordinate. That’s what makes it all so fun right?
What did you want in the patch notes? “Kasameer now wears a bikini.” ?
I spent a few hours today in this mess trying to get people to coordinate. Unfortunately due to megaserver and the fact that there are too many randoms who won’t listen it was a waste of time. A huge waste of time. I don’t know how many times I saw in chat, “I’m just here for the achievements.” Yeah, this is great fun and so worth the time. LOL
What do you consider “something of value” to be?
What ever the blade shards can be traded for is worth more than they were before right? Before the update blade shards take up bank space/ bag slots and had no value. After the update, trade them in for things that have at least some value. No matter how minimal you think the trade value was the fact remains that trading them has more value than they had, which was just taking up space.
While absolutely true, I think that most people thought something of value = something valuable.
I was a bit more pessimistic and just deleted the darn things.
Well if people thought a thing that dropped liked crazy during the LA events would be tradable for yellows, T6 mats or what not, then LOL. The fact is they have some value now if you trade them. For the last month or so they didn’t have value at all.

We have a new tech person on board who is — be still my beating heart — a Mac specialist! So we will be reviewing all stickies and updating them in the near future. Let’s give her a bit of time to get up and running, but we’re on the case!
Welcome to that new Mac specialist. I look forward to the support she can give to Mac customers when she is up and running.
We play how Anet want’s us to. PvP and WvW getting left behind, nerf PvE dailies and try to funnel PvE players there. Not spending enough time in certain zones, nerf other zones to force you there. Anet seems to spend a lot of time trying to direct players into certain areas. Instead of improving the areas they want to funnel us into they nerf the heck out of everything else to try to force us there.
Haha, nice one. Never saw it that way before^^
Well the Southsun Cove loading screen is even worse. Someone slipped that past haha.
Why is this thread still going? Anet answered this on the first page.
Because this is the GW2 forum where everyone feels the need to get the last word. Wait.. Now I’m guilty as well. LOL
What is that in your screen cap where I drew the lines? Does it mean we get the shaft? LOL
The QD was a mindless zerg – not doing anything useful and annoying the players actually trying to level. I am happy that it was done – too many level 80’s just doing it BECAUSE!!!
That’s odd because I can recall many times when I was in the train and stepped aside to help people with skill points and such when they asked for help. I also know of many times when others in the train did the same to help new players out.
We get it, not your style of play but no need to make stuff up because you don’t agree with it.
There is bound to be some upset over this initially – but for the long term, Arena Net have done the right thing. It’s going to cut down on the skewing of the game to new players – it’s going to dramatically cut down on map chat fighting and swearing (coming from both sides of the argument) and existing players will hopefully once again find the explorer in them.
Yep because nerfs are always a good thing, LOL. Maybe next month your preferred method of playing will get nerfed. After all no matter where you play people might argue and talk bad in chat. So, best nerf the heck out of everything people like to do in groups to avoid that. Good grief.
I have not even done the QD train in several weeks and was never a frequent player in the trains. However, I am very anti-nerf and don’t like the idea that Anet is trying to funnel players away from things they may enjoy.
Here is another good example of nerfs gone too far:

It doesn’t matter what people say now the change has been made and the main thread on this closed. I guess some people were rude to each other even though I didn’t see it. End of story, done deal..
Isn’t this supposed to be a ‘sandbox’ game? Why is every other way to play this ‘sandbox’ game met with aggression, suspicion and gratuitous nerfing? I’m starting to feel like I’m doing a LOT of things morally wrong and unscrupulous just by playing the game.
Yeah it is a ‘sandbox’ game with different rules.
Anet, “Hey don’t build that sand castle over there.”
Player, “Why what’s wrong?”
Anet, “Well that side of the sand isn’t where we want you to play.”
Player, “But I like it over there. I’m enjoying myself.”
Anet, “Sure you are but it is more important for you to play in the sand over here.”
Player, “Why?”
Anet, “Because that is where we need you to play now. We put effort into making an area for you to play over here, not where you are.”
Player, “I don’t care about that area over there. I’m having fun where I am now.”
Anet, “Too bad, we are taking your sand away from your area. Now play over here like we told you.”
What a disaster. I’m becoming more frustrated every day with this game and how it is managed. Now I keep wondering what the “f” they were thinking. For a long time most of you would have labeled me a “white knight”. LOL
At least they’re consistent in the whole, “Play how you want as long as it’s the way we want you to play.”
Yep and it is sad really. Maybe they should draw up a some sort of instructions of how we are supposed to play so I don’t have to keep guessing and being disappointed when I’m wrong.
I remember running high level fractals over a year ago and barely making any gold while zerg train players were raking in the cash while being able to finish up a season of breaking bad.
Yeah, you don’t know what you are talking about. Even before the QD train coin reward got nerfed for the first time the gold earned wasn’t much, especially when waypoint costs were factored in. Most people ran the train to level up alts, do daily or do monthly plus the karma reward that wasn’t available from FGS train. Almost no one I know of ran it for gold. I do fractals and dungeons as well and they always pay off better in loot than trains.
(edited by JustTrogdor.7892)
Looks like they added two new options for dailies in the daily achievement with the new patch. At least today it was 8 PvE, 2 WvW and 2 PvP. It’s not as good as before, but if it keeps like this, I’m happy that they listened to the feedback.
I can’t in game right now. Can anyone confirm there are now more daily options?
Those of us that are altoholics can clear the zone for the umpteenth time with none of the debilitating lag that has been there, especially since the megaserver.
Your lag isn’t necessarily related to the train. If you can’t handle QD without lag then I bet you lag like crazy in WvW. The lag is probably more on your end. But if you want to justify the change by screaming lag, go for it.
I actually do better in WvW than QD. But really cool of you to zero in on that, thank you!
I don’t see how your lag problems are an issue then. WvW is much more intensive due to all the character models and players in the map. I’m not sure what WvW server you are on but at any given time on most WvW maps there are way more people than in QD. But you want to make it an issue because you don’t support it. Have fun with that.
Well that shoud help slow down the crazy influx of gold pouring into the economy finally
Yep, the coin from champs got nerfed a few times over the last few months. Now you will see a decrease in crafting mats placed on the TP and the price on them will rise. Without the train there are many less mats farmed or getting broken down from salvaging. So where does it pay off?

Queensdale is by far the worst, but the way people talk to each other in the starting maps is awful.
Not anymore if that was really the case and from my experience it wasn’t. Now QD will be abandoned aside from new players and people leveling alts.
I get it, Anet wants us to play like they want us to. They made that apparent with the change to dailies last month. They want to funnel us into areas and game modes they think are important. I don’t care for that. I don’t want some Anet enforced guidance in how I should play. The more they try to force my hand into playing where they want the less I want to play.
That being said, the QD nerf is a done deal. No matter what we debate it is over. Anet seems to have taken the approach of listening to a few. (see achievement point hunters and daily) Sad really.
I just wanted to speak up since I saw a lot of people wondering how new players felt, I liked the train, sad to see them change it but the game still has a lot of amazing things I have not tried yet.
Wait what? According to everyone else here you were exposed to verbal abuse, didn’t learn how to play and the train ruined your experience. :P
Well, I hope those who complained about the QD trail are happy with the new patch. Sadly for new players there will be fewer, if any experienced players in the starter areas to help new players, by answering questions, explaining game, etc.
As for the trolls they will simply move on to other areas, to be sure, or stay in the starter areas to spread their vile. New players will learn of the meta boss zerg (GW2 style play nowadays) on their own if they happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
I really do feel sorry for the brand new players, they will be quite lost, whether in QD or WF, even MP.
Yep Queensdale is going to become the new Metrica Province. A few new players a day with no one there to help them out. “Hey, how do I get this skill point? I need help.” Cricket….Cricket…
Anet is on track to remove more content than they’ve added, haha.
For once I agree with you.
Good. Now maybe that zone will be more civil.
No, it will probably be pretty dead now and all those L10 new players asking questions probably won’t get a response.
Maybe. But there wont be 100 people in there every minute swearing at and insulting those same L 10 new players for being “noobs” and turning them off to the game altogether.
I ran the train for my monthly and such for several months. Verbal abuse was rare and when it happened it was because of a few people purposely griefing the train. From all my time running the train I can say from my experience that new players in chat that asked questions got answers and often offers to help them with skill points and what not.
Now not so much. I’m rather surprised that people are supporting yet another nerf. Over the past year and a half or so several areas got nerfed and the forum was up in arms.
Your favorite farming area might be next…..
Good. Now maybe that zone will be more civil.
No, it will probably be pretty dead now and all those L10 new players asking questions probably won’t get a response.
Nerfing reward systems is not always a good thing. Sure in Queensdale things sometimes got ugly in chat. However, taking away rewards is a slippery slope. Perhaps your favorite farming area will be next.
I have not run the train in about a month. I’m just not a big fan of reward nerfs. Rewards in this game are already skimpy at best. Just look over the forum and see.
New players that didn’t know of the existence of the train would kill a champ “out of order” and that annoyed the train. The train then went on this non-stop verbal spree abusing the new players. Definitely don’t want that happening.
New players in Queesndale would be hard pressed to take down a champ on their own. Very hard pressed. From my experience the verbal arguments came from experienced players purposely disrupting the train. Even then, most train regulars just ignored them.

At this point I am all for a PvP realm. Everyone that tags up for it ends up with the other PvP people and those that don’t tag don’t end up there in the megaserver. Let them troll each other all day and night.
Its not a very realistic thing to suggest that people should alt tab out of the game and set up a channel on a third party programme each and every time they want to group up for dungeons etc.
I pretty much only do dungeons these days and I have never had a need for voice comm. I only PUG with the LFG tool. Pretty much everything can be communicated easily in party type chat. There are only 5 players involved and the dungeons give time to type in chat what people need to do in between encounters for those that don’t know.
Are we talking about the same game? Most people dont even read the chat- especially the new inexperienced players.
Why?
Probably because everyone is busy rushing through them without pausing for a breath.
rush rush rush zerk zerk zerk. Noob = kick
Aint nobody got time to type.
You are losing it man. Haha… By the way you said:
Most people dont even read the chat- especially the new inexperienced players.
You are making assumptions the same thing you accused me of earlier.
Your very valid reasons came with absolutely no supporting evidence. Your making assumptions.
With that I will leave you on your quest for voice comm even though it has been stated Anet has no plans for it it. You obviously don’t want to hear anything that doesn’t support your cause.
Look me up some time you want to run a dungeon and I’ll show you how easy it is to run without voice comm, even with a PUG. I’m serious look me up and I’ll coach you through it.
(edited by JustTrogdor.7892)
I would mention that I`ve seen countless pug group fail and quit simply because they arent able to communicate effectively in real time during combat, so they get frustrated and /rage quit. Its not a very realistic thing to suggest that people should alt tab out of the game and set up a channel on a third party programme each and every time they want to group up for dungeons etc.

As an in-game voice comm is a feature you would refuse to use for reasons you have recently mentioned, one has to wonder why you continue to post on the subject.
Goodnight.
We currently have no plans to implement an in-game voice communication client. There are plenty of viable third-party options available, such as Ventrilo, Teamspeak and Mumble.
Ah now I see- you have created a strawman due to your dislike of the GW2 community. nice, man.
The most over used an misused term on the forum. I’m sorry I don’t support your idea and gave you reasons why it would be hard to implement. You can grumble on here about it all you want. I gave you very valid reasons why it would be hard to implement. You can deny them all you want.
It’s up to you now to show how it could be implemented with little problem. Enlighten me.

I saw this thread and wanted to make a satirical comment about how we shouldn’t have in game voice comms because it would lead to abuse. Trogdor beat me to it, haha.
I didn’t say it would lead to abuse I said it would be hard to track and act on abuse for the sake of maintaining a positive community. Thanks for acknowledging it would lead to abuse though.
You are right, more tools that facilitate abuse is not necessarily a good thing for the community as a whole.
If you feel GW2 has such a positive community- one worth maintaining ,then does`nt that suggest that the risk of in-game voice comms leading to abuse is relatively low?
Quoting myself to give you a second read since you missed it the first time.
I didn’t say it would lead to abuse I said it would be hard to track and act on abuse for the sake of maintaining a positive community.
I get it, you want voice com. You don’t want to hear anything that is against your suggestion. Personally, I couldn’t care less if there was a GW2 voice channel. I’d keep it off because I don’t want to listen to a bunch of people yelling things like, “YOLO I’m so swag.” That doesn’t change the fact that with your idea there are problems Anet would have to dedicate resources to resolve.
(edited by JustTrogdor.7892)
How do you know they don’t feel pain???
Nice work on the charts. Very well done.
I’m sorry… I have been following this forum the last few weeks and I do wonder if the GW2 email list got compromised.
Absolutely not. And by that do you mean the e-mail addresses and the passwords?
No I mean I wondered if a GW2 related email list got acquired from somewhere and nothing to do with passwords. There are what, 100’s of millions of email addresses out there? It just seems that for hackers to have a starting point they would need a list otherwise it would be like finding a needle in a 20 square mile haystack.
Anyway I trust it wasn’t on Anet’s end but maybe another 3rd party GW2 related website where people used the same email address to register as they did for their GW2 account. Those hackers had to get a starting point from some place.

The problem with an Anet GW2 hosted voice chat is dealing with in game verbal abuse and what not. If they hosted their own client then they would also have to deal with monitoring it like they do with the in game text chat. That would tie up a lot of resources. It is in their best interest to leave the voice chat to 3rd party programs where they are not held responsible for what might be said.
What if they added an option to turn off the in-game chat, and actually had it turned off as a default?
It’s more about liability. With text chat they can monitor it and get abuse reports. When they get a report they can go back, read the chat logs which are saved and act on them . With voice chat that would be hard to do. They would have to keep recordings of voice chat to follow up on abuse reports. Those voice recordings would be huge and how would one report voice chat abuse?
It makes sense to keep voice chat via 3rd party programs where they are not responsible for monitoring or acting on cases of abuse.
Possibly a Term of service agreement would need to be accepted.
I`m not sure how other game companies cover themselves from liability, but I`m sure Anet could do the same.
I imagine they would add a new option under the report function ./Voice abuse
Probably more trouble than it is worth since there are a number of 3rd party programs out there already. Also again, /voice abuse, what is Anet supposed to do, keep countless hours of voice chat logs and then spend who knows how many man hours listening to them to figure out if the abuse occurred and then figure out who did it?
I’m sorry, I know your suggestion had good intentions, I just don’t see it happening. The resources involved in implementing such a thing would be huge. The possible liability, probably not worth the effort.
It seems they already have the software built into the game, so cost should not be an issue.
So it comes down to liability- which a cleverly worded ToS should take care of, maybe.
(sorry to keep disagreeing with you , but its something I would love to see implemented)
They have audio monitoring built into the game already? You mean they already can record hundreds of hours of voice chat across NA and EU servers and then when they get a report of abuse go to the specific time frame of the abuse and review it? Then figure out who was the abuser? How do you know this?
I know it seems as easy as a ToS change, but it isn’t always that easy. I know it is something you want implemented, hence your OP. I just don’t think it is as easy as you think it is.

I think it would be cool to have a mount even if I did need to buy it on the gem store.
There already is one, the riding broom. If they add conventional mounts to the gem store the pay to win complainers and gem store is evil crowd will come screaming.
I don’t want mounts because of the excess screen clutter. I don’t care about speed boosts or what not, I just don’t want my screen cluttered with players on mounts everywhere. I have yet to see an MMO with mounts where I didn’t think they looked silly. That is why I don’t want them.
