The TP in this game is much worse than flawed. It’s realistic. In time, more and more of the gold in the game will end up in the top 1% of the players. They don’t really have any use for it, it’s not like they can buy mansions or pay divorce settlements as the rich do in the real world. So they buy legendaries, multiple, on multiple alts.

That’s the reason why the “classic” mmo model will mostly hand soulbound top rewards…so that players are rewarded for playing the game well, not for playing the TP.

That’s also why the “hardcore” mmo model allows for looting and destroying of property. There, one could buy a legendary on the market, but will lose it almost instantly without personal game skill.

As you can see, GW2 has the worst elitist issues of both worlds. Consider yourself lucky if next month lodestones aren’t twice as expensive as they are now.

Get rid of the need to say “LFG” by having dungeon queue’s.

People select the dungeon and join a queue.
As more people join the queue, the slots for groups get filled up and once a group is full the dungeon begins. Win win.

I don’t want it easy enough for everyone to be “handed” the items. Thats not what my main concern with gw2 is.

Also note that you personally may find it is getting old and therefore a grind. Many people start to get this feeling after a time of doing the same thing over and over again. Might I make a suggestion, Because there is no Monthly sub fee your not compelled like in other games to play every day, therefore you can not play for a week and not feel like your losing out on money ( thank you Arena Net for keeping it free), so take some time away form the game maybe a week or two then come back. I did that after my first 80, took a week in a half break and came back things feel better about the game just saying a suggestion is all.

While I agree with it being f2p and I don’t have to feel compelled to play, I don’t think anet wants people to quit because they feel like it’s a grind. They want you to have fun.

My main point of my first post was the ludicrous amount of materials needed, especially RARE materials for these items. How many times have you seen a foefire’s essence walking around? I’ve seen 2, in 1008 hours played. That’s just not right, and it needs to be fixed, or materials need to be farmable.

I seem to get hit so hard by DR it’s aggravating. You said you received more exos than me in alot less fractals. Well how’s that fair, or rewarding (QQ)

I disagree, most everything in the game is a grind. Dungeon gear, farming, legendaries, non-legendaries.

• A Dungeon that is harder than the previous dungeons before ( No rez zerg mobs hit harder ect. )
• A dungeon that scales up in difficulty the more times you do it yielding better rewards.
• A dungeon that requires at least 5 people to complete
• A dungeon that requires at a certain level of difficulty to have gear or loot that is better than the previous loot and is required to survive and be effective.

I have done 320 fractals, lvl 21 on my warrior and lvl 31 on my guardian.

I have received 3 exotics in all 320 fractals, and under 60 rares (lost count), 5 rings (2 of which are banked, being useless), NO fractal weapon skins, NO infused rings (had to make em), NO precursors.

It is a grind. It’s a grind for lucky drops and the illusion that “gear gets better” I have received, for the most part, the same crappy greens from lvl 1, to 31.

So about 3-4 months in right? The new-ness has worn off for me, and I sit here pouring over the stuff I want to make in this game. Every MF recipe, legendary, or the like… I notice a trend, in which I was blind to before because this was new and exciting.

Everything requires a huge grind or copious amounts of gold (trying to force us to buy gems huh?)

Now, this game was first brought to my attention with the dev videos claiming this was a new kind of game, which doesn’t feel like a grind, blah blah blah. But that’s exactly what it is.

There are no raids, there are only a few dungeons, there are no “GUILD WARS”, and alot of the events are still bugged, or nerfed.

As a player with 1008 hours played as of this morning, and hundreds of dollars spent in the gem store (mostly because I wanted to support this game) I am unhappy with the turnout of GW2.

The solution: make it less of a grind, put in objectives or quests to get your “materials” for these highly sought after items (legendaries, non-legendaries (foefire and the like), make it difficult so they do not become as the WoW player’s state “welfare” legendaries.

Something has to be better than this system you have. For instance: I want a foefire’s essence, but I need 100 charged lodestones. A rare drop from a rare mob (because temples are not always owned or farmable. )

100+ of a rare mat is simply too much. Because of the rarity, this would cost me hundreds upon hundreds, just for one stack of the mats!

Maybe I’m just rambling, or maybe im the only one that feels this way ( I hope not), but i hope something is done, because I don’t want to see this game fail.

Personally I’d like to be able to trade for the fractals/ascended gears as the liklihood of me getting beyond level one on fractals is pretty low, so by all means make it all tradeable and lower the price for all that gear.

Actually, I agree with OP, ascended items cant be used in the MF (like exos or rares) and cannot be salvaged.

Seems pretty silly, imo.

I’m sure other players can agree, that the DR is overly-harsh in GW2. I shouldn’t be punished for wanting to farm lodestones, or rares for ectos.

That is all, im not sure how you could change it because I dont know your formula, but the DR is too damn high.

This is a huge waste of time, and has been bugged for far too long.

Oh and nerf Jellyfish boss’s hps, sitting there spamming your same 3(or 4) over and over for 7 minutes is not fun, not engaging, and just plain boring. It’s good to have a boss that’s ezmode after the grindfest that is fotm, but being boring, grindy, and ezmode is silly.

The “population” is calculated by how many players are currently logged in. If you notice, in the morning, some servers say “high” and not “full”

Why would you say precision is better than power if building for self healing? for the might stack?

Me personally I’m full clerics gear. Power is persistent dmg, and doesnt have to depend on crits.

The subject is 20+ not 1-20.

In 20+ it really helps your survivability greatly.

The waypoints being constantly contested does steer people away, and the same 9 mobs every 40-200 feet is also ANNOYING, not fun. Annoying. It’s not difficult or challenging. It’s annoying.

I stay away from orr now that plinx isn’t available but once every blue moon.

Put a dragon event there, and get rid of 1/4th the mobs, and you got a renewed zone.

All of the plated parts are just Gold, other then the helm which shows up as a darker gold then rest if the same gold was used, so I used Buttercream for the helm gold. The chain parts under the plates are all Abyss.

I’d settle for skills on a few professions with Taunt mechanics. The game needs more cohesion, group integrity, and roles. It’s braindead boring to solo all the time because there’s no point to doing otherwise.

No thank you, No taunt mechanics is what makes this game more fun. You never know when a boss will turn to you, and you have to play a defensive role.

Do not compare the mechanics of this game to what it is in most other MMOs. There is no trinity because the game is set up to FORCE you to make balanced decisions.

If you dont like it, well most of GW2 players do, and majority rules.

I agree that dedicated healers would ruin the gameplay. I like my guardian how he is.. dmg and healing with group support while i do my job. Not the other way around.

Here’s one shot I liked while doing some fractals.

After an hour and a half of grouping with these pug (ugh..) people, ALL of us crash to desktop.

So I just wasted a good portion of my play time on nothing, because of a HUGE bug.

We can’t continue where we left off, nope that would be too convenient. We can’t get compensated for our time.

It really convolutes the storyline though because it’s tied to your race.

Perhaps if this race change came with a “personal story reset” and flagged you as unable to recieve rewards from them, then it’d be possible.

I understand that the personal story getting in the way of your desire for a race change is marginally relevant to your desires, but it’s still something that needs to be ackittened for.

It would really depend on how they designed the database which holds the “progression” of storyline to the character the race change would happen to.

Simple conversion charts could fix all of that, but again, it depends on how the information is stored with anet. The beauty of programming is that ANYTHING is possible.

Enough people want this, and it would get them even more money. So I would say its a good idea to put the work into making it happen.

Somethings wrong with your time log.. even with frenzy a gs swing is .25 seconds. And a frenzied hb takes 1-2 seconds to complete…

You expect me to believe that you got stunned, hb`d and swung at all in the same second? I call bull kittens.

Myself, I switched back to double swords and condition gear. Probably not ideal, but working best for my playstle so far.

This is a common misconception. Auto attack swings do more dmg than HB. It just doesnt seem that way because you dont see the numbers crammed together. With the right spec you CAN ignore HB all together.

I’m just gonna redirect you to the “right spec” that you seem to be so fond of. Read what some of the traits do, then evaluate the skills again (mostly in terms of attacks per second).

It’s not overpowered. You just see higher numbers because of the channeled attack with the Greatsword. But the dummies go down just as fast.

The thing is, Greatsword is greatly superior to any other weapon when you look at the traits they get. GS gets a cooldown reduction, might on crit and a damage boost.

Opinions? Opinions everywhere.

It’s not greatly superior. It sacrafices CC (hammer), and crit buffage (dual axes, unless you use the gs adren, but why in the world would you use adren….), and condition dmg and a working charge (sword) to do straight forward damage.

There are Pros and cons with all weapons. Please start recognizing this.,

first off, screenshot it, or your 40k didnt happen (you do know thats the TOTAL hb has done right?)

Secondly, opinions, opinions, opinions. It’s not overpowered at all, it roots you, which is where the balancing act falls into place.

Some of us like GS. So people in this thread crying their typical tears of whiney baby syndrome, aren’t very helpful.

If you like GS use it, if you like hammer, use it. It’s all personal preference. It’s not OP just because you don’t understand the mechanics.

The exchange rate does need work.. I have been pouring some of my extra cash into gems and getting a 1/4 of what I would get at the outside gold sellers…

The only reason I havent bought from these other companies is that Im afraid ill get banned. But Anet would definitely profit from making the exchange rate better.
