I think it would be difficult to add a replay feature for many of the chapters considering the the whole world scale they are implemented on. For instance, one of the events in the Queen’s Jubilee patch was running the beacons in Divinity’s Reach while another in the same patch had hot air balloons all over Tyria. There was also the challenging the Queen’s Champions and escorting the Emissarys in different zones – all of this in addition to the Pavilion and Gauntlet instances/zones. Certain achievements from all these activities were required to get the bonus skins or items.

They would pretty much have to create a copy of the world for each chapter. I just don’t see how they could realistically do this.

I do like that they are bringing back certain dungeons in fractal instances and I have favorites that I’d like to see come back.

Wow PvP is not all about gear – that’s generally the stereo-typical response of those who found it too difficult or complex to handle.. Also the match making system there is years ahead of what we have in TPvP.

Not about the gear eh? Enter a battleground without PvP gear, or only with the battleground gear and try going against someone in arena armour. You won’t stand a chance. It’s all about pvp power.

Enter WvW in masterwork and go against someone in Exotics and and you won’t stand a chance.

Pot meet kettle.

Ridiculous statement. I can have full exotics in a couple days in GW2 for WvW. In WoW you have to grind months and months to get enough gear to even be close to being competitive.

Now for arena, in GW2 I can enter the PvP lobby and instantly be boosted to 80 on any character or class I like with full, free access to the same gear that everyone else has access to. It’s completely fair and there’s no having to run raids for months or even years on end to get super rare trinkets and all that old school nonsense and you still will be destroyed by players with heirloom gear.

There’s a reason WoW has lost 1/3 of it’s playerbase in the last couple years as better games have come out. It’s a very very old game.

The personal stories still take place in Lion’s Arch.

Elementalists are very strong in PvE right now and one of the most desired professions for dungeons.

There is no map completion objectives on the new Edge of the Mists map.

WoW is all about the gear, terrible game. Shame on you Azreel for trying to send a player there.

OP, I agree with mcarswell that Obsidian Sanctum is a great place for dueling, just head to the arena area. Otherwise you can use the Custom Arenas function in Heart of the Mists to design an arena for as many players as you like (that does costs gems however).

A feature release is not an expansion, it’s a release focused on game features. Examples of game features we’ve done in the past would be: guild missions, account achievement system, spectator mode, new pvp maps, daily world boss chests, removing culling and giving visibility options, the WvW WxP system, etc.

It’s funny because the gear grind here is worse than it is in WoW.

Ugh, nothing is worse than the grind in WoW. Raid for months and months hoping against hope for your item with a teensy tiny drop rate chance to drop, then when it finally does, you have to roll on it against all the trolls that want to shard it in front of you.

All this is before you can play the current content. Then 6 months later they drop a new raid and you have to do it all over again!

Good point, Baladir. I’ve been on SoR since launch -3 and watched it’s rise to T1 and now will happily watch it fall to a more healthy, reasonable tier.

T1 is a burnout machine, I recently looked a guild recruiting for an elementalist and they wanted you to raid EVERY DAY. Seriously.

I cannot filter achievements by guild, I either get Internal Server Error or it defaults to region rankings.

They can only be on one set of armor at a time, but you can re-use the skin with a transmutation stone or crystal to carry the look to a new set of armor.

I wondered that too. I mean everyone has their personal preferences, maybe the whole team consists of many classes but only one mesmer, and that mesmer does not like the staff for example as a weapon. So it will never be balanced, allways a tiny bit weaker etc…

I love this map! The sheer variety of terrain, the multi-level aspects of the map, the new types of siege, environmental effects, tons of intrinsic and extrinsic rewards, the fun! Small havoc teams now have tools to smash zergs, PPT is fairly meaningless, it’s just all so fresh

I have officially moved into EotM until Season 2 or until ArenaNet incorporates some aspects of EotM into WvW proper.

Just a note on the LFG tool – groups form almost instantly so hit the Refresh button often!

You need to be at least level 30 to enter the first dungeon. Make sure to read the listing so that you don’t accidentally join a group that is looking for lvl 80s only. For your first dungeon forays I really recommend joining a PvE or PvX guild that does dungeons and is willing to take newbies under their wings and show them how to do them – they are a very different experience than what you are used to and most new players find them extremely challenging.

I do agree that it would be nice to have a way to go to the first dev response in a thread, especially since some threads get quite lengthy.

Not showing up for a week or two alone won’t bring you down to T2 or T3 (in long term sense). You need to also shed some of your Oceanic/SEA guilds.

SoR do what SoR want. We have that history.

I remember last year when the shoe was on the other foot. We had a bit of a winning streak, fights were getting boring for us and demoralizing for our opponents. What did SoR do? We sent one of our biggest commanders over to the opposing server for a week, just so we could have some good fights.

Concurrent is logged in at the same moment. For instance, when WoW launched their last expac they had a 10 mil subscriber base with a peak concurrency of 1 million.

GW2 has peak concurrency of 460k. Not too shabby considering they haven’t launched in China yet
