snipping out the satire
Do not join Sea of Sorrows, as their ambassador completely missed the mark and didn’t even read your topic. They just saw, “Looking for a New Server!” and copy-paste-spammed you.
The servers that I’ve suggested all suit your needs in some way. In my opinion Yak’s Bend would be the one to go with, but since you don’t like facing zergs you might have more luck on FC or HoD. Both are also solid servers with solid communities. If neither of them appeals to you, then ride the ship with IoJ and see where it takes you.
Men of Science [MoS] – Tarnished Coast
If you don’t mind being outnumbered for a while and if you don’t mind riding out a sinking ship, then I recommend joining Isle of Janthir. They recently lost just about all of their major guilds and are on track to settle around T6-T8.
If you don’t want to do that, then consider Henge of Denravi. Besides being one of my favorite capitol cities in GW1, HoD is a server that’s been at the very top and is now toward the bottom. The server has plenty of skilled veterans remaining and would likely welcome a few new bodies into the fold.
A third option would be Ferguson’s Crossing. FC hasn’t made much of a splash in the WvW scene, but has a community of light-hearted players that enjoy what it is they do and play hard within their tier. They’re a solid T7/T8 presence and have been consistent in their performance.
Finally, if you’re worried about PvE population issues then you should check out Yak’s Bend, which is one of the few servers that consistently shows up as Full on the population lists. However, YB has a smaller WvW population (if not a skilled one) and would make a great home for folks in your position.
Every tier experiences zergs, so you won’t get away from them completely. However, the top four tiers are where you’ll see them most often. If you can get into one of the lower tier servers you’ll likely find yourselves more at home than on a server like Dragonbrand, which is pushing T3/T4’s border.
Yak’s Bend, while in T4 this week, may slip into the top of T5 in the coming weeks and as things balance themselves out following the 28th. If you like being outnumbered then Yak’s Bend is the place for you to be, otherwise I’d definitely risk it on FC/HoD/IoJ if you’re looking for smaller scale WvW.

No one in this topic called you closed-minded, or even implied as such. No one except you has used the word “illogical” — you’re seeing things that aren’t there buddy. There’s no need to post huge walls of text trying to ‘demonstrate’ ‘fallacies’ to people.
Everyone else has agreed that your perspective is different than ours. We all believe that you believe what you believe. When an argument reaches this point, it’s no longer an argument.
The players involved — and even the majority of outsiders — didn’t see any intentional exploitation taking place. The only fallacy is your usage of counter-arguments to arguments that were never leveled against you.
The world isn’t out to get you — stop reading between the lines and start reading what’s written.

To all those that are in such a hurry to get SoR out of T2. You do realize that just means you get to deal with BG instead right? It won’t be any better.
You realize that you’re larger than BG is now, right? I’m going to keep posting this whenever you guys bring up the BG thing because it’s the truth.
We want BG because BG is more comparable to our size. This makes for a more competitive and interesting match-up.
Wake up.
I don’t think TC realizes that BG picked up 3+ guilds from SBI and that or more from IOJ. they have also been learning some nasty tricks from SOS/JQ in T-1. While some TC players are crying to get SOR out, I sincerely don’t think they want the new and improved BG back. On the flip I kind of want them to get their wish so I can see the new excuses and angry rants from them about how they need SOR back.
I don’t think anyone is posting angry rants about SoR, nor do I think that anyone is saying that SoR needs to get out.
My personal stance is that for the sake of competition we need SoR to switch with BG and for SBI to switch with FA or Maguuma. It’s as simple as that.
BG may have gained transfers, but I’m telling you from first-hand experience having faced both of you guys that you are much bigger than BG ever was. With our new transfers and with BG’s new transfers we should have the same general match-up as before, especially with SBI dropping out.
It’s poor form imho for SoR to intentionally game the system. It is preventing the natural progression of competitive tier evolution for no other reason than fear. You cannot tell us that you’re not toying with us when you blatantly are doing just that.

Just a tip, try exiting and relaunching the game if you aren’t already. For some reason this tends to show server population shifts more often (probably because relaunching reloads it).

Guys he’s going to see what he wants to see, it’s as simple as that. Don’t bother arguing with him, it’ll just result in infractions. Everyone in this topic sees the same video except for him, who sees a different one. It is what it is.
I believe that he believes he sees what he thinks he sees. That’s enough reason not to belittle him or argue or whatever.

Which video was I watching? The one where the cameraman (from 9:34 to 9:38) takes a pause during a DPS race fight to check whether the duo have glitched the Lord properly with their NPC popping/corner kiting strategy.
Oh I see, it’s Tarnished Coast coming in to defend this now. Now your guild and server reputations can be more like your shoreline. With the way this attack ‘strategy’ was initiated and then executed by these two players, there was 0% chance of it working without a ‘fortunate’ glitch.
PS: Signet of Shadows has a ranged AoE blind on it, which the cameraman doesn’t use. Professor Sensei has his self heal off cooldown and doesn’t use it as well, which he could have used to not nearly wipe at the end; and he could have triggered a backstab off of it to not waste as much time. Then again, when you expect something not to be attacking you and you glitch for a living, you don’t take the same precautions as everyone else would.
PSS: I said I wasn’t making this exploit talk about the culling, but because of the last set of comments… do you think this video demonstrates stealth cooldowns used appropriately for when the effect is supposed to wear off based on tooltips? Or does it more accurately demonstrate living on the edge with an expectation that enemies aren’t seeing you on their screen?
No point in arguing with you — you’re going to see what you want to see regardless of reality.
For the record I don’t know who anyone in that video is other than Meega Kweesta (who isn’t even there), and my guild has 8 people in it, four of which are active. It has nothing to do with what server I’m on or what server I’m not on, and everything to do with being sick of people crying about exploits every other post (and even more so when thieves are involved).
You can continue playing the fool though, not my problem. Later.
Men of Science [MoS] – Tarnished Coast
Honestly do you think that when we push up and BG comes back down that you will have it any easier?
Yes, because you are larger than BG. I don’t think it’s hard to understand.
Men of Science [MoS] – Tarnished Coast
Edit: LionZero is correct. Guild Lord intentionally pulled to a spot where he obstructs and stops attacking.
What video were you watching?
I saw a bunch of NPCs run to attack hostile players and NPCs, and then choose to attack the NPCs instead of the players. I didn’t see any trickery, just two swarms running into each other.
Why don’t you re-watch it a few times just so it sinks in how completely silly you sound.
Men of Science [MoS] – Tarnished Coast
We have 4 T1 servers now, Mainly because of people from SBI and TC who transferred to your server..
I was unaware that any sizable mass from TC moved to SoR.
I was going to say “anyone” instead of “any sizable mass” but then I decided not to just in case a handful of solo guys shifted over.
Men of Science [MoS] – Tarnished Coast
Also, I really appreciate how nice everyone is being in this thread. It’s not easy to do, but ignore the scoreboard! JUST LOOK AT THE EYE CANDY. Keep your heads up, guys!
I expect a huge, hairy, posing norn behind the ladies in the next one. Preferably with a pose similar to the Guild Wars 1 warrior dance, you know the part where he points his arm out and gyrates his pelvis?
Yeah.
Men of Science [MoS] – Tarnished Coast
Not that we’re throwing the match, but I guess you could say we’re trying not to win by so many points that we are thus prematurely moved to Tier 1.
Not wise, if another server moves up (which is possible) then you’ll lose points for a week and drag things out even more.
It’s cool that we’re outnumbered, but please don’t toy with us. You’re ready for T1.
Men of Science [MoS] – Tarnished Coast
I linked a video of Hulk Hogan and did his running wild quote in a manner relevant to this topic but apparently that’s against the forum’s rules. Instead, just imagine that you’re watching a silly 1980’s wrestling video and reading witty commentary.

As one of the guild leaders that left IoJ I want to wish you guys the best of luck. I honestly hope that IoJ will find a place that they are happy with concerning wve and pve. But I feel obligated to tell you that of those 20guilds only two of them left for a higher tier. Most of us decided to stick together and move to fort aspeenwood
Topic: My honest advice for anyone left on IoJ is to determine whether you’re there specifically to be a part of the IoJ WvW, or if you’re there for the community on the server (PvE etc).
If you’re just there for the community and don’t really mind who you ultimately represent in WvW, then just remember that you can always guest onto IoJ. You don’t have to ride the sinking ship if you don’t want to, and you can always go back once IoJ settles back in and finds that happy place again.
I’m also not trying to recruit anyone here — I don’t really care where you end up as long as it’s where you want to be. I feel bad for you guys, you’ve been given a raw deal. This isn’t a matter of, “we lost a match, bye!” It’s a matter of, “Oh, well, a ton of people just up and left overnight, crap.” I personally wouldn’t blame you if you moved to any of the T6-T8 servers (that already are in a happy place in terms of competitive/balanced play).
That said, whoever stays behind has my respect. Keep fighting the good fight — it’ll toughen your hides and grizzle your beards. You’ll all end up as norn if you’re not already, lol.

Hardly anyone will be able to afford a transfer of a decent size guild. You would be looking at 100+ gold per person on the bottom tier transfers. Since the transfer could be anywhere from 500 to 2,000 gems it would be very tough for a WvW GUILD to get that kind of gold.
We all know gold in WvW leaves a lot to be desired.
They’ve already stated that transfers will be around 5 $USD, and that it will be more expensive to transfer to higher-tier servers and less expensive to transfer to lower-tier servers. Considering that it costs 1.25 $USD to buy 100 gems, that means it’ll cost people around 400 gems to transfer (with adjustments for tier placement).
The current rate at which you can buy gems for gold is 1g 80s 86c → 100 gems. That means it’ll cost 7g 23s 44c (give or take for tier price adjustment) for one person to transfer. We’re talking around 10g per transfer here.
Getting 10g isn’t rocket science, and even the most casual player can earn that within a week if they’re frugal. If a guild of 100 people wants to transfer servers, and if we’re going to use 10g as a simple number, then we’re only looking at 1000g. Yes, only 1000g.
If the guild fronts half of the cost themselves, that’s 5g per person. I’m pretty sure a single person can earn 5g comfortably, and I’m pretty sure that an entire server (or even just a handful of guilds) can pool together 500g.
None of this is rocket science or out of the realm of casual reality. Transfers are still going to happen, just not as often. There’s still going to be recruitment, it’s just going to involve more negotiation and haggling.
Men of Science [MoS] – Tarnished Coast
The free transfer window is closing, not all transfers. If guilds want to save up gold and gem transfer somewhere else then they’re still going to transfer. People are still going to recruit.
Men of Science [MoS] – Tarnished Coast
FA > TC > BG
I’m just going to put it out there again, even with transfers FA is still smaller than SoR and BG, and possibly even smaller than us still (we just picked up a sizable oceanic guild this morning). TC outnumbered the old FA by quite a lot, and while Fort Aspenwood got a lot of transfers they’re not literally the size of two servers, they’re just bigger than before.
IoJ were completely outnumbered by both SoR and BG (who have both grown since then) — I don’t think a dozen IoJ guilds transferring to the smallest server in T3 makes FA a monster, I think it makes FA around the same size as TC. Putting FA ahead of both TC and BG (but especially BG) is incredibly wishful thinking.
Men of Science [MoS] – Tarnished Coast
I expect Maguuma and FA to hold each other in Tier 3 for at least two weeks.
SoR is likely to switch places with BG next week, which means BG is likely to lose ranking to TC and SBI. SBI is still a presence despite the transfers, so I think that BG’s swap will fuel SBI enough to keep them in T2 for a little bit. I believe it will be at least two weeks before anyone drops out of T2, and I doubt very much that TC is leaving. I think we’re going to stay in 5th for quite some time.
Maguuma won’t gain as many points the first week in first place (no server does), and so FA should continue to climb. This means that next week the climb to the top of T3 will temporarily stunt Maguuma’s growth, and the following week (when they start gaining again) FA will take a slight growth hit.
Depending on how Kaineng does against DB/CD (whichever drops, I’m expecting it to be DB personally) will throw another wrench into the T3 scene. If next week ends up being another big win for Kaineng (and it should be since they’ll be blue and DB will lose ranking after dropping a tier), then it’ll be FA vs Maguuma vs Kaineng in two weeks, and I believe it will be in that order.
I think that in four weeks one of those three servers will have swapped with SBI, and I believe that it will be FA that moves up, but we’ll see. I’m still waiting to see if half of Maguuma jumps ship on the 27th just to troll the people that get left behind.
Edit:
The other T3 scenario would be Kaineng taking one additional week to swap with CD, so same situation as before but 3 weeks vs 2.
Men of Science [MoS] – Tarnished Coast
It’s just Maguuma, they won’t stay in there too long. I mean, they can’t build flame rams in there so why would they?
Oh snap! Enjoy your flame rams then IoJ.

I agree. How can an ele block treb and mortar fire when a guardan cannot. Both skills claim to be able to block projectiles.
They do not claim to block projectiles — in fact neither of them do. Read carefully:
Swirling Winds says, “Create a swirling wind that destroys projectiles.”
Wall of Reflection says, “Protect the targeted area with a wall of mystic power that reflects projectiles.”
Any ability that says it reflects projectiles will not work against siege. ArenaNet likes that players can use abilities to destroy siege projectiles, but they don’t like siege projectiles being reflected back. I agree with that design philosophy (siege costs players cash/badges and cannot be repaired, while walls and gates can be repaired).
Guardians can block siege using Sanctuary although it is very inconsistent and has a massive cooldown. I’m not sure why “Absorb” abilities such as Shield of Absorption don’t work, but there it is.
Sanctuary states, “Form a protective healing shelter for allies. Foes and projectiles cannot enter.” It doesn’t absorb or reflect projectiles, but rather destroys them. This is consistent with Swirling Winds’ usage.
Likewise, the thief utility skill Smoke Screen reads, “Create a smoke screen that blocks projectiles and blinds foes.” It functions similarly to Swirling Winds with a similar duration, cooldown and casting time, but only effects a rectangular area rather than a large 400 unit dome.
I haven’t tried it before, but if the projectile lands directly on top of the tiny little shield that shows up when using Zealot’s Defense then ZD may also allow guardians to stop siege.
The long and short of it is that if an ability is similar to either Swirling Winds or Smoke Screen, it should allow you to block projectiles efficiently. If it’s a long cast time, long cooldown, tiny radius skill such as Sanctuary, then you’re probably better off not even bothering if literally any thief or elementalist is around.

Did we hold it non-stop, or did we reclaim and rebuild it? When I logged out yesterday (~7am server) we’d held it overnight.
That garrison in the TC map i think has been the bane of the SoR’s entire week so far. Every attempt we’ve made on it has failed -_- TC too quick on the defense call. We’ll get it though… soon…
I’m sincerely glad to hear that you guys keep trying, as it gives us something competitive to do while our current match-up is the way it is. I’m really hoping that we’ve held onto it, as nothing would make me more proud.

Now look at tier 3. FA is another T1 material server that has so much more manpower it aren’t funny. Yet CD and DB are still holding their own.
Wow, people have high expectations of FA! All T3 servers have comparable populations. FA is probably the biggest of the three now I admit. Not sure if we all made it to T1 yet. All three have benefited from transfers. CD got transfers when they were winning in T4 and then a few more in T3. CD was outnumbering us until we got the IoJ transfers to catch up and bypass them. DB got many transfers through their victories in T4/T5.
My guess is that we have all bypassed TC since they are relatively weak in Oceanic time. Not sure how we compare to SoS/JQ/BG/SoR. Next few weeks will be interesting. Especially when Mag and Kaineng take on other superservers so we can accurately determine their strength.
SoR blows you guys out of the water, even with most of IoJ on FA now. Be excited for that match-up if it occurs, but understand just how big SoR is now. They’re bigger than Blackgate and Blackgate held us at 160k points each week.
Edit: in fact they might pass BG this week.

Tonight (Saturday). I was the one with the long, red overcoat and khaki trim, with medium-length brown hair and facial stubble. You were wearing a green vest with brown slacks, and had the most astonishing blue eyes.
I watched as you built a rocket turret in the moonlight. Your fingers danced over the machinery as you worked, dexterous and slender, betraying your skill. I observed your work from behind the trees for some time before approaching.
I /waved at you before /beckoning — there is a beautiful hilltop where I wish to watch the stars dance across the sky with you. You seemed confused and fired a salvo from the turret toward my direction, misinterpreting my actions as aggressive.
Did I startle you — was my footfall too soft? I’ll return again tonight, and hope to find you there. If you read this message before then, look for a green arrow facing toward the sky: that will be my signal.

Tbh don’t know much about TC just going by what your doing against sbi and if all there guilds left like people are saying in forums I figure you would be smashing them. Since your not maybe TC having issues as well. Of course all speculation. I know all the servers I put above that have had substantial wvw transfers so yeah. I could be wrong it’s all just a guess lol
Hard to smash anything when you’re getting smashed, SoR got mad transfers yo.
That’s not a complaint, just clearing it up. I don’t mind losing when outnumbered.

I can’t see kain or mag making it past tier 3. Once they get there it will be a close battle. Ill only do top three teirs after that to be honest I have never followed.
Tier 1 SOS, JQ,BGTier 2 SOR,FA,DB
Tier 3 CD,Mag,Kain
I sincerely doubt that Tarnished Coast is going to drop below T3 within the next four weeks. If you forgot about us then I understand.
My personal prediction is that, if Maguuma doesn’t reach T2 this week, they’ll get trapped in a micro-bubble at the top of T3 like we did for so long. If they do reach T2, then Fort Aspenwood will have that honor.
Either way, if we drop below T3 it won’t be in four weeks or less, lol. Don’t buy into server hype — Maguuma’s best case scenario is all of their transfers leaving elsewhere (such as Kaineng or Sea of Sorrows), and their worst case scenario is skipping T3 and getting rolled by Rall.
Men of Science [MoS] – Tarnished Coast
Here’s a pipe dream:
SoR, you guys are going to win this week. No one has any doubts about that. Would you guys be cool with your guilds running skeleton crews on Thursdays so that you can come party with us instead?
I’m not saying “stop pushing us qq” — I’m saying that I’d like to give everyone a chance to recharge their batteries and to have some fun. I’m sure that there are people on SoR that are bored to tears by this match-up. I’m also sure that there are people on SBI that are burned out from weeks of rough matches.
So let’s dedicate Thursdays as party day for as long as our three servers are together. SoR guys, you benefit by getting your fill of duels and small-scale skirmishes, of costume brawling, and so on. SBI and TC, we benefit by having a chance to breathe a little bit and to goof off with our friends on SoR. All in all, it’s a chance to make light of a painful match-up and to foster a little bit of good sportsmanship and camaraderie between our servers.
Okay, cool, now that I’ve written down the one thing that is most likely not going to happen and gotten it out of my system, let’s go ahead and get back to the grind. Just do me a favor: not the face.
Edit:
To those on all three servers that joined in the great golem jumping puzzle celebration, thanks for the silliness. Was a fun change of pace from a normal weekend night.
That’s how TC sieges the JP
I would love to see sanctioned Guild Golem battles/duels take place between TC/SoR/SBI guilds. We could even make a tournament out of it to find out which server’s guilds are the best at.. well I suppose golem dueling lol.
We could even be good sports about it and agree to “dismantle” the golems after each match-up.

guilds had to do what they felt they had to do given the circumstances.
My solution would have been to go to this site and roll a d20. As there’s 24 servers in the NA bracket, I’d remove four of them — but which four?
Obviously I wouldn’t include my home server (in this hypothetical scenario, Stormbluff Isle), and I wouldn’t feel proud of myself if I were to transfer into Tier 1, so I’d skip all three of those servers as well. That’d cut the list down to size, and I’d be ready to set up.
I’d arrange the names of the servers alphabetically, and then place them into this list randomizer. I’d randomize the list a total of seven times (as a nod to shuffling cards), and then once thoroughly satisfied with the randomness of my list, roll my virtual die.
For the sake of this hypothetical, I have proceeded to do exactly as I’ve described above. My list therefore appears as such:
1. Northern Shiverpeaks
2. Sanctum of Rall
3. Isle of Janthir
4. Ferguson’s Crossing
5. Fort Aspenwood
6. Sorrow’s Furnace
7. Henge of Denravi
8. Gates of Madness
9. Eredon Terrace
10. Devona’s Rest
11. Ehmry Bay
12. Anvil Rock
13. Crystal Desert
14. Yak’s Bend
15. Dragonbrand
16. Tarnished Coast
17. Darkhaven
18. Maguuma
19. Borlis Pass
20. Kaineng
Rolling my virtual d20 resulted in a 19, and so my guild would be transferring to Borlis Pass. Borlis Pass has a strong community and pride themselves on their campaign to bring the PvE audience on their server into WvW, rather than poaching off of other servers via the forums. Knowing that a surprise transfer would encourage their efforts and philosophy, I would feel at ease moving to a server as fine as Borlis Pass.
I would then encourage other players on other servers to randomize their own lists based off of their own circumstance, and to roll their own d20. For example, a guild leaving the server Isle of Janthir may decide to exclude Sea of Sorrows, Jade Quarry, Kaineng and obviously themselves from their lists — they may have a fond memory of their time against Blackgate and be willing to assist them against SoS and JQ, while they may also feel dirty about joining servers already enjoying population booms.
Granted, this entire scenario is hypothetical as I am happy on Tarnished Coast and have never been a part of Stormbluff Isle. I personally would have chosen to randomize my location as randomization tends to lend itself to a more equal population dispersion, or at least more equal when compared to a mass of guilds from one server moving to another server in the same tier.
Also before it’s commented on, I’m not bitter and this isn’t complaining. I’m just disappointed in this week’s match getting nuked.

Good idea. The Great Lord Flame Ram can only be appeased if we seige cap all our maps with flame rams and continue to refresh them all week.
Rams actually have their own siege cap independent of the rest of the siege varieties. Here’s the link , and the relevant quote:
- Do we have a siege limit? If so, what happens if we cross it?
There are two basic hard limits to siege placement.
There is a limit to how many siege weapons can be placed within a certain radius of each other. We tried to set it to be fairly lenient, right now you can set 5 weapons (sites or completed weapons) within any 1000 unit radius. If you try to place a new site somewhere within a radius that already has hit it’s limit, the placement will fail but you should still have the weapon bundle in your hands so you can try to place it somewhere else.
There is also a hard limit to how many weapons can be placed on the map. This map limit is a bit harder to explain as it is based on some internal concepts that don’t translate well to laymans terms, but basically anything that is not a ram counts towards one ‘limit’ for the purpose of this explanation and each team can have up to 100 of these types of weapons out at any time per map. Each team can also have up to 100 rams placed on a map.
Rams can stack up to 100 per server, and all other siege combined also stacks up to 100 per server independently of rams. Should allow you Maguumans more breathing room when considering siege placement vs ram placement.

Edit:
Regarding the current rankings on millennium.org, remember that those were the first updates for this match-up. That means that those scores were uploaded during the first 3 hours after reset — smaller numbers tend to cause more radical swings in the rankings, but stabilize over the course of the week. For example, I took this SS after submitting a score ~30 mins after reset. The rankings at the end of the week normalized as numbers became larger. You won’t be able to fully grasp how things are going to play out until Monday.
I actually wrote a little (private, for now) app that lets you put in scores and get instant ratings out, and I was using the latest screenshotted scores to get the numbers I posted above. Also, millenium’s calculations are actually wrong somewhere. I was initially getting numbers off a couple points from millenium’s, and so I went and found some (verified accurate) Glicko2 calculators, and my numbers were correct, while millenium’s were the ones that were wrong. It’s a very small error (no more than 1.5 rating points) but with the close scores possible this week, something to keep in mind.
Just curious, where did you get your initial numbers from, and where did you verify them?
Also, nothing you said invalidates the statement that while the week is fresh and the numbers small, things are more extreme than they will be on Friday morning. Irregardless of whether or not you’re more accurate, there’s still something that your calculations cannot do, and it’s the same thing millennium can’t do: accurately predict the next week’s match-up on a Friday night/Saturday morning.
I don’t want to derail the match-up topic, so please PM me instead.

This thread perfectly summarizes my feeling towards all these recruitment-threads.
Seeking new players for a night team? Are you kittening serious? Who even HAS a night team, who would want to be a part of that?
I’ve never seen anything as ridiculous as this.Oh and inb4 lock!
You realize, of course, that these things called time zones exist. One person’s night is another person’s day.
Correct, which is why my bank guild (Night Caps [zzzz]) is so delicious. I can wear the tag whenever I want and it’ll make someone angry.

Any changes we make will undergo a lot of testing, both internal and by our trusted alpha team.
aaaaaaaaand that’s where you lost me.
This is actually a very good point.
When most developers talk about ‘alpha teams’ they usually picture them like this or like this …
But when gamers hear developers talking about ‘alpha teams’ they usually picture them like this or like this .
It would be really nice to actually know something about the people testing things out. What do they play? What is their play style? How old are they? What are their hobbies? What games have they played in the past?
Having a faceless ‘alpha team’ doesn’t work because what they think ‘feels’ good is usually not in concert with what the audience thinks ‘feels’ good. I’m not going to point to Star Wars Galaxies, but I’m going to point to Star Wars Galaxies.

Fight well guys , Yaks will keep plugging
I just want to chime in before I go back to lurking again:
Bender’s, you’ve been in this position before and earned our respect for your performance. Different tier, different opponents, same Yak’s Bend. Do us Toasters proud.

Actually TC is pretty set in stone this week. SBI lost a few big guilds to SoR, and SoR has been absorbing guilds from other servers to boot. As a result they’ve suddenly become bigger than they have been at any other point I believe in their history.
The result is that SBI is losing to us again this week, but by a bigger margin than last week. Meanwhile SoR is going to defeat us by a much, much wider margin. The net result is that we should float within the -20 to +20 ranking range this week. I’m not sure exactly how vast SoR’s coverage has become, but early showings indicate that we are at least able to fight back and hold firm against them.
I believe SBI is more likely to drop before TC is, if for no other reason than SBI has lost a noticeable amount of its players while TC has remained relatively stable.
Here’s our most recent score update: http://i.imgur.com/CddHJ1d.jpg

I find it interesting that as soon as some facts are posted, which is the reality at the moment that this thread has gotten trolled by both opposing factions. Wondering where the moderators are at? Because I make one post non-trolling on another forum for the first time ever and got an infraction and post deleted. Interesting to say the least.
I’m actually serious in what I posted, even if I was light-hearted about it.
A GM isn’t going to be able to do anything if two servers control a map and a third one has no presence. JQ needs to either make use of the break-out event, or needs to reorganize and start gathering supply to take Langor and their Keep back, but posting things like this is just going to get them ridicule.
Seriously, get a GM? What are they going to do? That’s a serious question, what is a GM going to do about two servers taking advantage of the third? There’s no rules being broken; there’s no inappropriate manipulation of the game or its mechanics. It’s just a good ol’ fashioned opportunistically-driven smackdown.
Also the dolyak parade thing was a tongue-in-cheek allusion to an event that happened roughly a month ago. See: here .

Well this is fun, Kaineng zergs of 30+ everywhere. Sigh, I honestly can’t believe how many people bandwagoned to this server.
In my personal opinion, not enough.
I think 50% of every servers’ players should transfer to Kaineng.
I agree, if their plan is to make it to Tier 1 and Crush it they will need more transfers, which they will get every time they continually climb up, people like to win and will join winning servers, it will never change. Not saying there aren’t loyal guilds to ones server.
No, you misunderstand. I think the whole thing is funny. I don’t care about tiers or who they crush or even if they do. I just think the idea of having literally half of the WvW population on one server is downright hilarious.

So because JQ did poorly on one map during one window of time, we’re going to call in the GMs to break things up — what happens then?
Do they tell BG that SoS has said mean things about their relatives, and then tell SoS that BG invested all of SoS’s gold into a pyramid scheme via the Black Lion Trading Company? … Would that work? Hmm.
Either way JQ, in my experiences as a Toaster, your best bet is to get BG and SoS to hold a dolyak parade and hope that the tryhards on either side will kill the yak, causing BG/SoS to start mauling each other.

I believe they’re both from the same server.
Glad someone else pointed that out. I had been considering it for a while, heh
Well considering cover girl just moved to sor, she could simply walk up to both of you and spank you. Shrug.
Winky face.
Just got Hills on SorBL, great fun! Here’s a map and update, keep up the good fight!
We let SoR build a waypoint? In our borderland?
BLASPHEMY!

Did all four of your participants attempt to join the same map, or were they joining separate maps? Did profession seem to have any bearing on speed in your extended data pools?
What about latency or distance from server in terms of real-world location? Wireless internet versus wired internet? Connection speed?
What color were they this week (red? blue? green?)? Is the server they represent winning or losing when they queue, and does this seem to be a factor?
There’s a lot of variables here, and I’m willing to help you gather more data. I’ll see if I can’t find some people on Tarnished Coast willing to keep track of some info.
