also, for leveling up and pre 80 you should use green armor items. any higher than that is not needed tbh and its a waste of money. you can easily obtain these trough monster drops or heart karma vendors once the hearts is completed.
Rare is definitely a waste if it is your first character but if it’s your 2nd, 3rd, etc. then it is good for lazy people like me. I could upgrade every 15/20 levels instead of every 10
For Arah it depends on what kind of run you are going for. A thief would make skipping certain bits easier but you could skip them anyway without one.
Mesmer is good for the lupicus fight if you know how to time your reflects.
As for going with the wrong class … uh did you craft to 80 or something? 80 levels should be more than enough to get to know a class.
You also gets large piles of them if you are opening supply boxes to get the recipes. Celestial is also not a universally useful stat. It would have been useful for MF but with that changing as well it’s not very appealing.
Around 18gb but it should be slightly smaller if you are redownloading all of it.
Call me sad but I made a warrior specifically to farm CoF P1. In fact it’s the best thing I’ve ever done, because it made me realise just how bad I was with my elementalist. Now I use my warrior for everything because in this game atm Zerk > Everything else.
And no, the groups on gw2lfg won’t accept guardians usually. Probably because we are all small minded gold farmers who possess little to no brain and remember that we are completely incapable of doing anything in game other than CoF, well that’s what people say anyway.
What is your approximate g/hour? If you are including loot this should just include actual profit after taxes and fees. Just curious how it compares to farming stuff(although that is not exactly the same since farming stuff doesn’t generate as much gold directly).
Its no less fun than the treks … but I do understand what you are saying. and I agree it is upsetting to have 15 min to find and kill 2 mobs and lose the bounty because it took 12 min to find the first one alone.
Always cross your fingers that you get Trillia Midwell and Poodaboo (arguably the two easiest ones to find)
Several others are also relatively easy or at least straight forward to find but regardless of the target I have a hard time imagining how the search can be fun. It is just a lot of time spent run around staring carefully at your screen. There is no process or mechanic. It is a braindead as can be. Whacking barrels and poking rats doesn’t really count either.
I wouldn’t say treks are the same. They are similar if you use a guide for both. In theory a person who has a good memory and fully explored the world would be able to do all the treks without a guide.
Maybe take some inspiration from the old console RPGs where you talk NPCs and they give you clues about where to go. Instead of a patrol path they would need hideouts. It would make the search less about numbers and more about knowledge of the area. There would also have to be enough locations to make checking every location impractical. It probably shouldn’t be done for all bounties but at least for the ones in Ascalon it would make sense. I would expect the Charr legions to have a decent information network.
It could also be something more simplistic and ties back to the hearts. If you had completed the heart the NPCs can provide you with some information. It would encourage map completion/exploration which would help with doing the bounty hunts anyway.
they ripoff everyone with fine stones which you HAVE to buy no matter what, there’s no other option
Yea, nonsense. I have never bought these and had up to 9 in my bank. I must have received them either from story or daily missions. They are very rare for sure, but you do get them.
Map completion. You get either a stone, a crystal or a bl key. The crystals also used to be relatively common in the bl chests. Haven’t gotten one since they made the change that added the bags of coins to the chests.
Which is surprising, considering PvP communities are generally pretty up there in terms of toxicity. Are we really that bad, that developers dont want to talk to us :’(?
You really like having sharp pieces of broken glass falling on you don’t you?
The problem with PvE isn’t really skill balance anyway. Looks more like a failure by the people creating content to take into account the various skills available to all the different professions. Replacing ‘LF healer’ with ‘LF someone with reflects’ certainly wasn’t one of their best moves.
Then there are things which seems contradictory. There are too many situations where the way to increase your survivability is to increase your offensive stats rather than your defensive stats. The incoming damage is just so high that the defensive stats just meaningless and best defense is simply to kill the damage source reduce incoming damage to 0.
Ufortunately(?) none of this is actually new. Same problem existed in GW1. Except there it was because many of the mobs used the skills as players so any changes to skills resulted in changes to those mobs. In all there years that GW1 had been out there had been only 1 or 2 changes to the mobs to account for those skill changes.

In the beginning I was actually using a mix. Keybinds for some and clicks for others until I read http://taugrim.com/2012/06/27/guide-to-guild-wars-2-keybinds/ . I don’t use that set of keybinds but you can say it’s inspired by it.

Those should have all of the above covered
Hmm got my new mouse in the middle of May, had to readjust because of different button placement. I’ve mostly become accustom to the new mouse.
I don’t think it took as long with the previous mouse. The new one has too many buttons.
It seems that the headpiece is an NPC exclusive, commonly worn by Raven shamans. The shoulder is a skin you can buy for karma in Orr (not the Temple specific ones, though) and the chest and leg piece is another karma skin you can get in Harathi Hinterlands.
The coat and pants are also craftable but you need to buy the recipe with karma.

So to get gold I am seeing you have to WvW and PvP and I do not do those things cause they are totally confusing and have to be in some big group of people shoving you to the side cause you are not good at it. WvW I have never done cause I can see that being worse then PvP.
Hard to detect sarcasm in text but WvW and PvP two of the worse possible ways to get gold in …
Transfers are limited to once every 7 days. WvW bonuses start with the match after your transfer. Guesting has a limit of 2 servers per 24 hours.
The real lesson from this seems to be that GW2 players do not give a kitten about FB and ANet should be spending less efforts in that direction.
Also possibly Twitter.
I guess the ultimate lesson is that we buy your game to play your game not to be your friend.
The real lesson has probably something to do with that Nexon woman.
There’s a trend in f2p games to encourage facebook/twitter likes, through in-game bribes of all kinds. I suppose likes look good in a board meeting presentation or something.
Well I guess it matters for the marketing department. “Look! Proof that we are working.”

Click on acquisition and it will show links to the karma vendor
The various karma vendors are in Fields of Ruin and Lornar’s Pass but you can also get the skin for it from WvW for just 10 badge per piece for the pieces you want. This also saves you from having to get Transmutation Crystals.
That is the twilight arbor heavy set.
It never completes. There is a cap of 250 on the number of achievement points you can get from it. If you hover over it you can see how many points you have gotten from it.

That is the same with normal dodges …
They aren’t autododges either, extra maybe. The player still has to use the skill at the right time to get the dodge.
For general PvE it doesn’t matter too much. You can get away with almost anything so decide what you like doing and do it. But for dungeons it’s often a good idea to find out what you’re going to be facing before you go in (and this applies to both offense and defense, if you’re using a utility slot for condition removal in an area where you’ll hardly ever be hit with a condition then it’s a waste and you’re better off swapping it) and for PvP you’ll want to try and follow the meta-game – find out what your opponents are going to be using and try to stay one step ahead.
This part needs to be in 72pt font, bold, and maybe some neon flashing colors. :P
My necromancer is using scepter/dagger + staff but have mostly power. No problem killing or surviving.
My ranger uses berserker but I tend to do a large chunk of the damage with sword/torch.
Also not all weapons are necessarily one type of damage or the other. Many can do both.
Not sure why anyone would think ranger’s sword is anymore of a condition damage weapon than the axe. They are about equal with the axe having an advantage in terms of potential damage.
If it’s purely for the +xp gain. The halloween food offer a +15% exp instead of +10%, the lowest level item is lv5.
HotW p1 is also very short in terms of going from point A to point B.
SE p1 is also short. Never timed it or tried a speedrun but both have short distances between the start and end.
It is still being treated as a condition, if it wasn’t the rune wouldn’t have any effect on it. What it is not longer being treated as is a stun. This is the same change as the one to Sigil of Paralyzation in the previous patch.
Why does “Fear Me!” miss with blind? “Next outgoing attack misses.” It’s an AoE skill which applies a condition. You can miss from blind even if the AoE was already placed before the blind was applied.
Crafting can be a good way of earning gold. As long as you gather the resources yourself. Farm world bosses, if you see something you can invest in, invest, do dungeons (theyre not that hard) CoF is fun and very easy, even if its your first time. Basically just play
and put away any gold/silver you have in your bank and dont touch it, and itll mount up
selling the materials would yield the same, if not more money
Sometimes yes and sometimes no. It depends on the materials and items.
The problem with crafting for profit is that while it can be easy since you are just comparing a bunch of prices. It can also be a bit time consuming. It might be less time consuming if you get used so you know what is or isn’t in demand. I only do random bits of it and only in cases where I am guaranteed a decent profit(around 10s+ after taxes, fees and the value of raw materials). I usually end up doing that when I need the items myself and I need to check if it would be cheaper to buy or to craft it myself.
Which one are you looking in?
That doesn’t matter. You can mine it from any home instance regardless of your character’s race.
For some people it seems to take a day for the node to show up. As in the reset after you used the Gift of Quartz.
There are probably not many people who play this more than me but … meh not worth the effort to get a FB account. Hard to find a reason to care about FB.
Yes, I understand that but as I said I didn’t leave and that’s what is leading me to believe that what happened there was a bug.
It makes things very confusing when you say that and
Two most recent being when I entered the fractal lobby again after leaving to re-trait
These two statements contradict each other.
achievement chests should be appearing like daily completion chest/world boss bonus/etc chest. the little jiggling/shaking chest in the corner of the screen …
the back log of chests is limited to 1 per day no matter how many points you have
post a screenshot of your achievement window, that shows the chest you WILL be getting.
Locate ori nodes and harvest them, have a regular route. If you have high level alts you can park them there.
Of course, sell all your mats on the trading post.
Gold and Platinum ore.
You only need to be lv20 for gold and 30 for platinum. There are places where rich nodes of both types will always spawn.
It is also worth it to do map completion on the higher level maps(Mount Maelstrom, Frostgorge Sound, all of Orr and maybe Fireheart Rise). Obviously you can’t repeat those on a character but the exotics can contain some expensive upgrade items. Ideally you have a black lion salvage kit around to dig them out. Aside from those the crafting material can also be very nice.
All guild upgrades are bound to the server where the influence was earned.
I want their hairstyles!
Got any specific times when they show up in the video?
I see, one of my friends also mentioned the reason for dying is because of exploits. But I still believe that what I faced was a bug: Looking at the chat log you can see that I didn’t reconnect.
Leaving then rejoining and disconnecting then rejoining are effectively the same thing since it is the rejoin mechanic that is being exploited.
There has already been multiple threads on WvW achievements in the WvW section. Devon has also noted that they’ll be making changes to them but they aren’t sure of the exact changes yet.
There are a bunch of other things you can do to support the troops. You can bring the care packages to the npc and train(fight) with some of the troops. That is actually the fastest way to finish that heart with a higher level(or equal depending on how confident you feel) character. Start a fight with all the NPCs at once.
The problem is that there is really not good way to write those without being confusing in the space of those description. Having anything requiring X dailies is just a bad idea. This includes the multiple monthlies that required them.
You can attach multiple images by clicking preview after selecting each.
Anyway … that just looks like the usual result of the ambient light being added to the dye.
The pants are from Ascalonian Catacombs.
For fractals this is not a bug. The reason was never directly stated but alluded to an exploit that was found while testing when they first implemented the reconnect for fractals.
Easiest solution is to check the maps on the wiki since they include the borders of each discoverable area. From that you can see which ones contain no heart/poi/wp.
For Shiverpeak you might want to check Tail of the Serpent and Lair of the Coil in Timberline Falls.
For Magumma check Aurora’s Remains in Brisban Wildlands and The Serpentwinds in Metrica Province.
It also makes sure people get spiders all over their face after doing TA F/U
A fairly common complaint is about the lack of loot in dungeons so this shouldn’t be a problem.
Depends on what you plan to do with the character. For DPS it’s not all that different between them. Trying to maximize damage does make things more complicated.
Well there is the obvious thing with the zephyr supply boxes …
Could it be the new contents every 2 weeks start doing something to everything? Like the fractal ice elemental animation bug we’ve seen lately?
People have been complaining about those bugs loooooong before those things started.
I mean those bugs from Chryzo videos, the sparks attacking players while Simin is still active and 2 sparks in the same circle. I’ve neither seen those bugs before nor heard any one talking about it. Have you?
The only one were talked a lot is Simin’s health regen at 50% and lately, the lack of dps time regardless how fast a spark run is.
The “2 sparks in the same cage” one yes. The other one … not sure. Only way to be sure is to ask google(because the forum’s search sucks/is broken).

The level range in this game is really just there to tell you if a place is too high level. Other than that it’s just go where ever you want. The only other thing to be concerned about is crafting materials since those drop from level appropriate enemies. Gathering nodes are also the same. In both cases higher level isn’t necessarily better.
Lornar’s Pass is actually 25-40.
Most important thing about ascended items: you can’t wear two of the same. Each ascended items exists with two names, one has an offensive infusion slot and one has a defensive slot. There is a trick to wearing two of the same but that requires infusing one item and that will require doing fotm.
Ascended items can also be obtained in WvW where the laurel cost is reduced by 10 and 250 Badges of Honor is required.
Ascended accessories/earrings can also be obtained through guild missions. Assuming a guild has all mission types unlocked it would take 2 weeks per accessory.
Various types of mist essences in fotm that can give items passive agony resistance, you don’t have to care about those if you don’t plan on doing high level fractals.
From level 10+ the daily chest of fractal you get a pristine fractal relic. 10 pristine will buy you an ascended ring. The same chest can also drop a random ascended ring(in addition to the pristine relic).
The enemies haven’t really changed so ascended is only necessary to make the game easier or higher level fotm(15+).
Ascended gear makes the numbers in the hero panel go up but I haven’t really felt much difference from it. Things that were able to kill me before can still do it. I haven’t suddenly started being able to mow through enemies I wasn’t able to before either. Changing traits is much more noticeable. The only place where ascended is is noticeable is doing higher level fractals without agony resistance(you don’t need any until at least level/scale 10)
Unless of course if it happens to be story mode that you are interested …
Website, in game lfg, or map chat won’t really matter in that case. Not many people do them and even fewer repeat them. Starting a group for one of those could be a long wait.
You need to have the buff as you are completing the 5th daily “task”. 5 “task” = 1 daily achievement completed.
