Ranger; I can survive and gank well and be an effective part of any force. On top of that I can take out those pesky thiefs and stop them from running with the multitude of knockbacks, cripples and chills I have.

Ah I feel sorry for you guys, it always sucks to lose things in such a way. I hope you guys get reimbursed as you ask!
On a side note; it’s wonderful to see you guys still fighting on despite the lead we have Your making some awesome fights.

The outmanned problem has barely anything to do with Baruch Bay’s latin Americans. It’s the Gandaran mindset of, oh we’re losing, lets go PvE all week. Now if that’s your choice so be it. Me and my guildies, we just jump in and open our cans of butt kicking all week, winning, losing or night capping and we would encourage all of Gandara to do the same. Get over the rank and just play for some fun.

On a side not the only thing I hate about BB is their camping of the puzzle, its annoying… but we got them back for that >=D

From Gandara I would say Dairdel. Puts loads of effort into it, and is strategically sound. Utilises more than just good old ‘Zerg’ tactics. We tend to regain/win more territory when Dairdel’s about. On top of that Dairdel does a load to help with Gandara’s lack of a Nighttime force by hopping on and leading there.

Gandara’s commander tend to be quite good, and also a lot of unofficial commanders are the bomb as well so we now have pretty sound communication. It is a little tedious when people dont take sound advice though

Okay so I disagree with the portal needing to be limited. Lately I’ve seen the portal become way less effective in WvWvW purely because players are now more aware. I believe the portal shouldn’t be nerfed as it is a massively valid tactic in a lot of cases.

For example; Your attacking Stonemist and you just broke the inner gates, your forces are trying their hardest to get through but then the enemy have a stupid amount of Ballista’s aiming down those small tunnels, its slaughter. But then I come along with a Mesmer portal, use all my little tricks and such and get the portal behind the enemy Ballistas. In a lot of cases this is the only way my server has been able to break through the defences there. There are many other times I can use a Mesmer portal to take out a bigger number. Which could also be stopped by simply using a little common sense.

Yes the culling is a problem which I believe needs to be solved but the Mesmer portals themselves are not. 9/10 a Mesmer Portal wont work if you AoE the living hell out of it when it appears.

On the topic of Mesmer’s hiding in the keep, I’m a little torn on this. In the bay keeps mainly the problem is, to much underwater to hide in. But on the other hand most keeps and Stonemist itself, is not too difficult and time consuming to sweep. Literally a couple of minutes that’s it.

We at Gandara have been getting better as of late I’m glad to say but we do have a LOT of room for improvement. Our community isn’t too bad now anyway after most of the annoying people transferred off. (Advantages of losing )

Our night crew is not exactly the best but is improving due to the efforts of Commander Dairdel and of course everyone else out there during the night.

But it’s awesome to see someone out there attempting to get some sort of coalition going on out there. I’ll talk to my higher ups in Drakensong and see if we can organise something

Well as a player of a level 80 Ranger which utilises, Long + Shortbow, I can tell you it is one hell of a class. Survivability of a ranger is top notch with the right Utilities, in terms of Assassinating that poor lone person dashing across the plains, it’s great as multiple stuns, dodges and cripples keep them back and the heat off of you. You do lack the AoE though, you literally have your barrage and that is it. With that said normally when defending your the one who picks off the melee characters as they try to run back for healing. Attack wise you obviously have the range and sometimes can hit the siege no one else can, you can obviously do this while defending as well. You can also run a great combat medic, in terms of that you can use a Utility to send your pet to revive one downed player and use yourself as another.

I have also played a Conditionmancer. Which is great fun to use a Signet of Power/Plague Signet + Epidemic. But with that you also have crappy survivability. Although there is also the ‘Fishing’ fun you can have using Spectral Grasp to yank people off the walls ;P.

Well that’s all I got. It’s late so I’m sorry if that makes no sense at all ;P.

TL;DR: Rangers are strong in alot of places but lack mass AoE capabilities, it’s fun to player fish with necros.

Agreed, if anything stepping outside at all is major suicide. Which is why I like to go ‘fishing’ during an attack with my necromancer. 9 times out of 10 if you stun the person, it only takes that few seconds of stun until 6 people are tearing them apart.

That’s true. With that said though I do believe Gandara has the worst of the three servers. On Saturday I logged on in the morning to see a mainly Gunnars dominated map. On Sunday I logged on and saw a mainly Blacktide dominated map. I can’t comment since though. So I have no idea if we did something then but I can’t comment.
With that said, I am really enjoying the match up so far as it’s very even and the fights have been awesome.

You weren’t in the first place o.0? That northern gate is always overlooked. I always check the back door.

I wouldn’t say our teamwork is the worst, but it sure isn’t the best. With that said I have seen some awesome teamwork done by Gandaran guilds. For E.g. Song , NDA, Oath, Yijo(?) members using the jumping puzzle in the borderlands (Blacktides) as a ‘rebel cave’, striking out and taking Woodhaven and surrounding camps simply to annoy them for a bit, before swooping down and taking Ascension Bay by busting in through the northern gate, picking up some Ban members, initiating Dolphin mode through the water and killing the lord with nout resistance.

I suppose the jist of what I’m saying is this; Get a guild! Otherwise yea, would be cool if the random people could co ordinate
