A big shout out for everyone we’ve come across in these few matchups, both new and old. WvW is as fun as it because everyone’s out there to play and play well. Some of the fights we’ve had have been EPIC. Not just good fun, but epic on a “I used moneysupermarket” level (If just one person gets the reference and doesn’t want to kill me for it, it was worth it).

This wouldn’t be the game it is without the people that play it, and whether we’re on the same team or against each other, it’s the people that make the thrill… thrilling. Many will have different views on how they want to play. Some play in small guilds, some in large, some play without guilds, some play over walls, some in the open… But remember without everyone’s different styles of play, this would be a dull expedition indeed!

A special shout out to my friends in Dius, for the numbers you run, you hit like a tank.

So I had the Commander tag on today…. but I ran solo with all our Puggies… my brave, heroic puggies on GBL… we lost 90% of the map but we held Garrison and we held hills. A MASSIVE shoutout to those guys.

Aurora glade website has no mention of not searching server websites or not doing it.

I read through the Gandara website forums today. It was amusing to see all you guys moan about is KISS blob this KISS blob that 40+ this at 4am 10 of us killed 38705614 KISS inside there garrison.

I don’t care about the numbers personally. But while we’re here, doesn’t your forums tell people from enemy servers to stay out, yet you feel the need to come to our forums :O?
Honestly, our forums are a place to vent, cry, laugh, etc etc without bringing the most of it to here. Sure some slips through, some come here anyway but it’s our little place <3

Bro, don’t hate on all the spikes I get. Everyone knows the amount of spikes you get is a measure of how much skills you got in WvW 8-)

The initial two golems we built for Hills was planned, we thought it would be a good idea to keep it T1.

Wrong the initial 2 golems we built were planned for RS bl as revenge for their (really, really fun to defend against) golem rush on our eb keep a few hours previously.
Then we were on AG bl ….
Not sure how that happened but im going to blame lloa because everything is his fault and i’d been awake for 24 hours at that point so was weak and easily manipulated by his evil manipulaty ways.
Rest was just lol’s and see how far we’d go before we got wiped basically (and how many golems we could rope random people to contribute to our carefully thought out ‘plans’).

Im not sure what happened all I know is that golems appeared and we broke stuff.

As has previously stated, that golem rush was really a strategy? Honestly, you guys overestimate how much thought we put into what we do :P The initial two golems we built for Hills was planned, we thought it would be a good idea to keep it T1. Afterwards we just did things because of this;

Yes. That is why all successful MMORPGs have drops, weapons, armor, ranks etc. “Fun” is simply not enough since at the end of it you have nothing to show for your time.

If we go with the “Fun is enough” line, we should just remove all drops and play incentives completely.

Personally if the whole idea of rewards was scrapped from WvW I’d probably still play it. But then each to their own I suppose.

That’s why I rarely play WvW: Because it is not fun.

When I first heard about Guild Wars 2 I thought WvW would be the most fun part of it since I played Warhammer and liked the RvR there. But somehow Guild Wars 2 is boring… Server vs Server but all are the same… not that interesting thant race vs. race everyone with their different backgrounds would be. The whole mist stuff and fighting there… boring.

You run with the zerg cap some stuff get some points and log out. Does not feel like fun.

sPvP is a bit better there. At least you get in less than 15 minutes results and a win and it feels more intense. You helped to win and it feels good. You don’t get that feeling in WvW with the matches being long and the points ticking slowly while you only play a few hours and not 24/7 the whole week.

It don’t feels like you have accomplished something if you are one of the 50+ people in your zerg capping 1 keep that gets capped back later when you are offline and is not that important.

What I prefered would be something between sPvP and WvW. Something like bigger sPvP maps with other game modi and like 16 vs 16 players and own objectives that could include WvW stuff(there is already that crappy boring sPvP map with the Trebuchet siege). That could also be interesting for bigger guilds to fight there against each other.

Leave the zerg then? I play with organised guild combat 9/10, not a 30+ man guild either. A 15ish man guild which just goes around and looks for the best fights (while trying to help the server at the same time), tests itself and we do try to stay away from our blob as much as possible and operate as a single entity. My point being, you don’t have to zerg or even cap stuff if your don’t want to. there may be other methods for you to find fun.

W3 is a numbers game but you probably have never tried to defend a wooden door of a tower with 5 vs 50 who just dpsed the door placing no rams at all, even though 3 acs where firing at them and noone got killed.

I also saw dius and wvw in EB pwning randoms before I went to sleep. I saw you trolling them baiting then charging, then running away since they were over 9000 and they kept comming from the garrison :p

I tried to comunicate with emotes with a dead body from dius but since you can’t target him and he can’t target you, it’s impossible to communicate

Your EB pugs are BY FAR the funniest pugs we have ever seen… who was commanding them!? They followed us from Durios —> Danelon through danelon and back around to the hyleks, then to golanta, they stopped to cap that, they followed us to Jerri’s then right to our keep… only to be turned and rolled over by about 30 of us there :P If there was EVER a Benny Hill moment in WvW.. it was then :P

Dude this will not happen again, the Guild which was specialized on this left us for Kodash.
Elona and Jade Sea have to deal with this right now.

We are aware of the flyhacker and I will say what I said to some people on AG in EB at the time. Whisper me when it happens and I will pass the word to not defend any flyhacked towers. it seems to be fine now though with that said now.

We cant control the actions of this individual so not defending is the only thing I can do ;x

10-15 man combat Vs 10-15 man+ The midscale fights right up to the zergbusting. That’s what I enjoy. Alongside the incredible WvW community on my server ;P

I think KrisHQ what Caid is getting at is that before you can complain about your population imbalances, try more efficiently organizing the population you have.

Again; Im not complaining about blobs or playstyles Yardy Yardy yar, I just think that this illustrates what Caid is getting at. It was like that all evening minus 1 10 man AG group elsewhere. Oh and, that was on BB map, so none of this, AG doesn’t have enough to press enemy borderlands ;O

And while all of you QQ about blobs and other population level related stuff, I had a productive day killing people and flaunting my swag 8-) You guys should try it sometime ;P

Such a fun night in WvW tonight. Dius never topped 15 and ran with about 10 nearly all night but it was awesome. Epic battles in Longview tower, lost some won some. Only time we had serious help was from TDA in one of the Longview fights is was us guys Vs RED mainly I think and god knows how many others. I’m surprised we lasted long enough for TDA to get there and help, was more surprised that we managed to win that fight :O

We were surprised when that BB zerg followed us into the JP area.. strangest fight of mah GW2 life :P

Lastly, had a 7 Vs KISS which was suicidy for us but we were like… YOLO

Hope everyone else had fun o/

World experience, World Ranks and You

Okay so with the March 26th 2013 patch, we got access to the World Ranks system. This is a progression system in which you progress by completing various tasks around the WvW section of the game. For example; capping an Outpost or killing a yak and even killing a player. All event rewards I believe give World Experience (WXP), which is what increases your world rank. The reward from an event varies depending on significance and level of participation, i.e Bronze, silver or gold reward. An example would be, Yak’s give a different level of WXP than keeps, but getting a gold medal for killing a yak gives a different amount than getting a bronze for killing that yak also. The WXP gained from events is constant depending on the participation level, i.e a gold keep reward will always give the same amount.

The WXP gained from players actually varies. The amount you get from a player depends on how long that player has been alive. I believe that the lowest is 1 WXP, which you would have to kill the person just as they leave spawn after dying. The max is 60 WXP, which I’m not sure how long they must live before being worth so much.

Finally, as you rank through the World Rank system you get two different things; A new ‘Rank title’ after so many levels and World Rank Skill Points. The title changes after earning so many ranks and is visible to all the enemies. An ‘Invader’ is the lowest title, ranks 0-5, after that it’s Assualter, then Raider etc. The Skill points gained can be spent on a number of skills found in the ‘Ranks and Abilities’ of the WvW menu in-game. A description of the skill can be found in the tool tip as you hover over the skill.

this was an eb keep so a lot more open i was generalizing on how we where capping we had people holding the center while others defended and blah blah that wasn’t my point being able to res the lord that easily and as often as you like is a bit stupid

It’s not as often as you like. There’s a long cooldown, a cast time and a range consideration. It’ll also only work when planted (it’s a one shot).

Killing an NPC doesn’t gift you a keep, and I’m all in favour of game mechanics that don’t gift the brainless. Focus on the players, push them out. You only need a small number to cap, the rest should be ensuring that cap happens. If you’re all stood in the circle you probably don’t deserve to cap it. Kill the res’er, hold the chokes. Don’t drag the lord into the open to kill him; kill him away from where defenders are likely to arrive.

Pretty sure Guardians (Signet of Mercy) can do it too, but not tested.

this isn’t about how to cap a keep okay forget the zerg the keep and all those factors just imagine a dead keep lord and 10 warriors one reses him he dies another one reses him straight away he dies another one reses him etc etc theres no cooldown on that

Well yea… if the lord was dead alone.. without any players from the enemy side about.. would be OP. You can’t base whether something is OP or not on a situation which physically can’t happen in WvW. (i.e Lord dead with no enemies nearby). If there are enemies inside, it’s my belief that the fault lies with them and not the banner for not killing the warriors off. Now you could say that they suicide run the lord, well then stop them at the gates or any other location out of the very small rez radius a Warbanner has.

Now if you mean’t that there is 10 warriors, rezzing a lord and there IS a zerg inside…. you stop it by killing the warriors. o.0
