well GW2 been out for a few weeks now, and longer for testers.
So what new features you want to see added to WvW in the future?

I find that I need to switch characters frequently. Think it’s the lack of skill progression. I get sick of using the same few skills all the time, with no new ones to look forward to, so my solution has been to play five different characters.
I’m in no hurry to get to 80, so it doesn’t frustrate me, though.
i agree with you here. I am really bored of the game while leveling. So I switch a lot. have only a single character past level 10 and I have unlocked enough character slots for each class. My main played in every low level zone leveling up. so they bore me.
Give characters under level 30 access to full action bar in WvW along side the current boost to level 80.
In Structure PvP players get boosted to 80 with all skills unlocked. I would like to suggest something similar for WvW, but while still letting us level up as normal and buy skills to be used in PvE.
this skill should have been a Virtue.
I say it once I say it again after that.
MAKE THIS SKILL A VIRTUE not a skill to take up a limited skill bar and be so totally useless
post a video example of this in action please.

this is the problem I am having. I get burst down while channeling, and people simply move out of it.
iam level 10 now. what do I do?
right now since that photo we only took 2 places. a nearby tower and a supply camp. we greatly outnumbered but no buff.
I decided to simply log. isnt fun nor worth the time.
It’s two different systems. The thing with the trinity is that it’s been done to death so GW2’s system is a breath of fresh air.
non trinity been done to death, since MMOs started with non trinity in the first place and moved away from it.

ok I mentioned this before, about the issue with leveling in WvW.
well lets take my current situation.
Iam trying to level through WvW, since Anet says its visible. Level 9, been here for a hour.
I will attach a pic of what we done in terms of map control.
Now whats going on,,,
Well in the current Borderland (which I am in since other WvWs are full)
I notice my server is getting double teamed by the other two servers, and we are pretty much camped at starter base. other waypoint we have is contested.
now how do a level 9 character like mine level in this situation? We cant seem to capture anything, and killing doesnt seem to reward much at all.
So what do we do to level in WvWi in this situation?

if I am on a Warrior, and using a Hammer/Greatsword, etc for melee build I should have greater access to dodge mechanics than say a Warrior using a Bow and Gun.
but currently we both have the same number of dodges.
that seem to be a flaw to me.because melee builds put the player in greater risk, yet no extra dodges to self defend since the game lacks healers.
any idea whats going on here?
now its starting to do this with all my hammer skills and even my downed skills. whats going on?
kinda annoying when using a utility than trying to use skill 5 only for it to not go off. and its kinda hard to tell when it doesnt go off since lots of graphics may be going off around you in melee, in a place like WvW or something. this is truly getting annoying.

its on the low level starter gear that is in my inventory when I logged in to my low level warrior.

I feel like I am forced to level to 30 just to have the fun of running dungeons.
So many people complain about people fast leveling, yet why put such a restriction as this on dungeon content?
why no lower level dungeons?
I have 1 level 80, and that character is the only class I have above level 30. rest of my characters are below level 11 and play WvW with them mainly because I dont enjoy doing Dynamic Events and Hearts in the same zones I leveled my Main in since I went to all race zones leveling up on my main.
only two fun things I really like in GW2 is the WvW and the Dungeons. But for leveling up below 30 I have no access to Dungeons at all. Why was this designed that way?
isnt 90 toughness kind of small for a endgame trait?
I would like the Zealot’s Embrace skill to be changed into a chain. First use does what it currently does, and chain effect pulls the target to the guardian while still rooted.
the hammer is excellent and i dont know why theyre buffing it. i played a shout hammer/staff guardian in beta in t/spvp, and found the spec to be highly effective. oh well, wont complain about the buffs i guess.
well SPvP is kinda a different side of the argument when it comes to gameplay balance, since that vary greatly on who you fighting, and how skilled they are 1v1.
things like PvE, and WvW function on a different rule of balance.
in WvW a slow melee weapon with lots of roots just doesnt balance well in an environment that involves massive zergcentric combat, and lots of AoE coming your way that need to be avoided constantly.
I dont want Circle of Warding changed into a symbol. I want it changed to ground target like Staff’s warding spell was in beta.
for those that dont know, the Staff’s ward skill was also not ground target at first. it casted at feet. so you couldnt really place it without standing at the location.
I would like traits that increase the duration of these. as well as making both by default to be ground target.
Reduce interrupt chance of Downed heal from AoE
its nearly impossible to rally when there is a rain of arrow cart red circles…
they have no resource, so they can be spammed and spammed with no way to stop them.
heals also dont effect downed players, so its hard to rally them when they are in this kind of AoE fest.
Downed mechanics just seem pointless in WvW honestly for this reason alone.
seriously, what are people like the OP doing that they played since start but havnt reached 80 yet on at least a single toon?
yet somehow they made this a negative to do so…
I just dont understand. do you afk most of the time or something?
no way you can be level 30 after all this time if you doing events and hearts since early access.

Guardians need either an elite shout or signet, an elite spirit weapon would be interesting though.
A signet could be neat but for gods sake it would be nice to have one that’s at least simi offensive as we already have more then enough defensive options to last us a lifetime.
Perhaps they could make one that gives a passive health regeneration but can be activated to give might & fury.
That would make it quite nice as a duel purpose signet.
oh heck no. NO SIGNETS!! you trust Anet to make Signets after seeing what they did to the heavy armor classes’ signets already? come on

Engulf the surrounding area in a sea of flames. Remove Conditions from allies and grant Might, Burn your foes and cause Vulnerability.

I don’t know about new utility skills, I just wish they give the longbow to the guardian and extend Bubble times.
thats a bad elite skill, since that does pretty much the same thing our concentration does.
Please ArenaNet I beg you to pay attention to Blizzards mistakes. Running instances in WoW was enjoyable until they added a auto dungeon finder system. Ever since then running instances has felt so robotic. People never socialize or chat in instance groups in WoW anymore because of it. People constantly drop in and out of parties because all they have to do is queue for another one.
Please don’t make the same mistakes Blizzard did which was listen to the people that want everything to be as easy as humanly possible. You’ve got the right idea for sticking with a more old school approach to building parties for dungeons etc don’t listen to the whiners on here that expect another WoW automated drool inducing LFG system.
this has got to be one of the dumbest post on this forum yet. No offense to the OP, because maybe that wasnt intentional by the OP. So I am speaking of the post alone, not the OP.
But how can a Dungeon Finder make Dungeons Faceroll? Faceroll usually is a term linked with easy difficulty.
But how can a grouping tool make a dungeon easier, when the tool has nothing to do with what goes on inside the dungeon?

For me, I would like to see some utility skills that are Melee attacks(regardless of weapon in hand) that can do something powerful, like an AoE heal while charging the swing or something like that.
Also would like an elite skill that is a spirit weapon, or a spirit angel in general, that can go around fighting/healing/protecting allies around it.
Another utility I would like is another ward spell, that also acts as a ranged reflection of AoE. Could tie nicely into Sactuary.
Another utility would be a Conseration that heals allies in the area of it, and absorbs AoE damage from spells as well as sieges.

Today I spent my time rezing other people in an event person after person getting one shot by a boss. Some time into the fight I died. Can you think of what happend next.
Oh ya, thats right they just walked right by me and left me there… after I rezed almost evey single one of them. Most of them when in there down state so they never realy died. But when it was my turn they all stood there and did nothing….. Perhaps you could ask them to stop being so selfish and rez the guardian with the AoE full heath heal.

Sad really. In WvW I Rez your behind, yet you can’t do the same for me. Man you people don’t know how much I do for you all put there, but I can’t get a single bit of support.

Also keep in mind, the Warrior’s utility skills are very dull/lame so they make up for this with awesome weapon skills. That’s why weapons are more important to them than to Guardians.
Can you imagine how lame guardians would be if we had Warrior’s utility skills to go along with our already lame set of weapon skills?

Right now, mace is main hand only, and focus in offhand only.
Well make them ether hand for guardians, and place ranged attacks on their new hand positions.
Hammer is a tanking weapon.
Problem I have with it, is I can’t used the third skill on the chain without hitting somebody.
Which means I can’t use it where I want it at, so I can defend my ally with it.
I believe you all missed the OP’s point.
Condition damage- that’s a stat that increase the damage done from Burning.
Problem is, since burning doesn’t stack in damage, your burning damage can be overwritten by somebody else who uses a burn effect on the same target.
Only stacks in duration, so you condition damage was negated
Why give a character who uses a melee range weapon a reduction in damage they take? They already do more damage then most who use their ranged weapons.
Here, lets just buff someone up more, because they choose to not use the weapon best suited for a specific task.
The idea is to make it more durable to play with Melee weapons in WvW instead of forced ranged weapons. Melee weapons have nice burst, but it’s useless if you can’t stay alive long enough to use it.
You have ranged weapons for a reason. If it’s dangerous to enter melee, don’t enter melee.
The point of this thread was to come up with solutions to the issue of Melee in a Zerg centric range favoring style of gameplay which is WvW.
Forcing ranged, defeats that purpose.
Idea: grant Melee fighters passive AoE damage reduction
By Melee fighter, I mean any character using Melee weapon in main hand.
Grant them a passive exclusive damage reduction to AoE damage and sieges.
Also a slight damage reduction to direct damage abilities based on how many enemies are near the Melee fighter.
This way Melee and survive the Zerg-centric style of PvP that WvW is.
I want a chain on auto attack for Staff to have a heal and protection or just a heal.
I like the Staff. Would change Empower a bit to something more useful to my group, maybe allow it to make the guardian immune to damage while casting but cant move.
and change Orb. Orb need to be changed. thats the worst skill on the bar.
iam still waiting on a screenshot of somebody flying in WvW.
this is similar to when the character is in auto run (r /numlock) but they will do this on their own, and in random directions (side ways, backwards, forwards, etc)
I thought Anet said we could strafe out the way of projectiles in the game.
But this seem untrue. Most attacks, especially those from NPC are guided and will change directions to hit you.
this makes it impossible to avoid these attacks when dodge is on cooldown.
This is a issue especially when fighting boss event spawns with no allies around to help.
Just fought the drakemother boss in Orr and her guided ranged poison attack hit me no matter what I try to do. It changed directions in midair.
downed in the mater of seconds, with no way to rally at all.
I feel mislead by the Anet marketing team.
Max Level 20 vs Max Level 80: which you enjoy most?
If Max level was reached sooner like say level 20 being max level in Guild Wars 1,

Max Level taking longer to reach like say level 80 being the max level in Guild Wars 2,
which would you enjoy more?

something seems different and problematic about how the community behaves now compared to a few weeks ago when the game came out.
I notice that back then people saw the importance of playing roles like Support, and even Rezing downed players.
but now it seem like nether Support, nor Rez are anywhere to be found.

Traits for + healing is pretty pointless.
whats your opinion of giving people this freedom to optionally skip past these restrictions if they already know how to play?
if it gives swiftness boost, IMO is should be at double the effect. aka 66% speed boost while out of combat.

My opinion? It was a brilliant double-think marketing piece, redefining your journey to level 80 as the endgame, then having you do much of the same processes (i.e. grind dungeons) for reward, except that this game allows for the task at 80 or on your way up.
Thankfully, I didn’t buy this game for the PvE. People complaining about “lack of endgame” should queue up and face humans for a change. The realm combat is everything WAR online should’ve been, and if they decide to add sandbox elements like player-owned structures or some kind of guild vs guild, then it will only get more insane. The challenge is different everyday, no grinding here.
