There is a problem with the leveling reward for characters leveling in WvW.
its not consistent, and takes longer than PvE.
Well I suggest making it so players in WvW get exp each time the point timer finishes. gain a decent amount.
this way, task like Player Killing, camping, defense, and other non so rewarding playstyles dont hamper progression.

A common mistake that I’ve seen people make with guardians is assuming that they should be taking damage for other people. In my experiences, absorbing damage with your hit points is about the worst way to play defensively (second only to trying to heal people who are doing this).
For guardian, make sure to give consideration to the abilities that proactively mitigate, prevent, or better yet, reflect damage. These are harder to get right because they require more precise timing. But it feels really great when you plop down that wall of reflection, and return that blast of whatever for thousands of damage to the thing that threw it at you.
although you are a developer, I have to disagree with you.
Many of Guardian’s abilites are blocks and shields, or heals.
I run a tank build in dungeons, because mostly my range is limited, and my two hander weapons are too sluggish and short range to be useful to myself as well as my group.
mace 3rd skill is a defensive skill which is useless unless being attacked.
the second skill is a symbol, meaning not mobile, and likely placed were melee teammates are at to protect them. meaning greater chance you will also be hit.
focus’s 5th skill is again a shield. useful when hit. pointless when not.
shield’s 4th and 5th skills nuff said.
I also hate this. why waste action bar slots for non damage abilities?
Have they returned XP to Caravan escorting yet? I know they took it down not long back, but I don’t know whether it’s been restored.

My opinion, the armor damage rate is too fast, especially for players playing melee in WvW.
how about slowing down the damage to armor for players defeated in melee?
because it blows through our currency. isnt really fair to those that play melee.

not when you playing on a map that has no capture points.
iam level 9 on my warrior, and we cant do any more capturing at this point. total non stop pvp now for hours. only gain a few bars from the keeps we did take.
hours in PvE is a few levels. but in WvW that can mean no exp at all.
I want better leveling from all of this.
iam on borderland and my warrior only gain a few bars of exp after hours of playing. And he only level 9 now.
need better exp gain in here. kills are fun, but not rewarding.
cant solo capture anything for exp.
please make leveling in WvW more reliable.

I cannot believe that you could actually release an MMO these days where people have to stand outside the instance spamming /s to manually get a group together.
It’s incredibly lazy and makes what should be a simple affair take far more time than it needs to.
I think it is incredibly lazy to not actually have to find a group by being social. Its not like the dungeons are required like in some MMOs to move forward with the development of your character.
problem is the dungeons are in level zones that arent the level requirement for it.
meaning, spamming /m wont find you members most of the time.
Yeah it’s all practice. Because of the cast time you need to lead your target much like in any FPS’er.
but cant do this in WvW when zerging. since enemies are going everywhere and AoE is your main threat.
you can both dodge through it, and use Stability to walk through it. seen this countless times in WvW and PvE where people/npc walk/roll though my LoW without boss’s buff that makes them immune to it.
when tanking I go Mace/Focus with Hammer or Scepter/Shield as secondary

doesnt give enough time to use it when players are trying to instant defeat you.
also it take up healing channel time since health is going from+ AoE siege weapons also damage it.
seem pointless, especially with many of the skills being useless in most cases.

Due to the cast time on these small circles, its hard to use my staff attacks on moving targets.

my opinion the way it should have been designed, is to allow movement like CoD,
while at the same time, preventing instant defeat, but still can be defeated from damage.
Make it so the only way to rally is by killing enemies or from ally rallying you or out of combat.
no down health timer thing.
Greatsword is fine; just use the binding blades when you’re already engaged, so when they try to run you yank ’em back in.
Hammer: maybe they could make the ring into a symbol? I’d like to see Smite, for instance, made into another symbol. For having so many traits related to symbols, Guardian doesn’t have a whole lot of ‘em to work with. If you made this change, then the ring could be traited to heal and cause vulnerability; it doesn’t need anything else innate, though the burning would be nice.
Perhaps the devs could add a secondary effect to our “immovable barriers” in that it causes freezing if passed over? Freeze isn’t affected by stability, so that’d make people think twice about passing through; if they’re frozen for say 3s, it might not be worth it…you’d still catch up to them to knock em backwards with MB.
As for MB, I think the most it’d need would be either a stack of might or maybe cause a symbol to appear underneath wherever the enemy lands to cause fear in the surrounding enemies for a second or two; you know, so the MB’d enemy doesn’t get a chance to be affected, but those around him get scared off to give some more CC. Or, just add a few seconds of daze to the ability. The hammer already gets a blast attack, no need to give it another.
Symbols are different from Wards. During Beta, Line of Warding on Staff wasnt a ground target. It was at feet like Circle of Warding is. I would like this changed to a Ground target as well.

At least on losing servers in WvW, people would play and defend supply points and things around it.
in its current form, its no reason to play WvW while losing, until WvW reset again.
Because you get little to no exp from zerging keeps on a losing faction which has a greater chance to not beat down the keep before defense gets there to repel your server.
very unrewarding in these losing situations, and not enjoyable when cant progress your character that may be leveling up.
no motivation to go to WvW when losing.
I agree. many of the Traits for this was badly designed. Why have traits dedicated to Blocking, when we dont have short cooldown blocks?

increase the range of this. And apply a Damage over time effect to this and increase duration. as is, its too easy to escape the range of this preventing its purpose. While in effect perhaps add a snare to the target while they are in chains so its easier to use pull without targets getting out of range of guardians too easy.

this need its cast time removed, or add better defense for the guardian while using this attack. Its useless skill on the hammer when in mobile fights, to have such a burden. the cast time needs to go.

Since this is the most damaging ability for the Hammer, I can understand the cast time on this. But its counterproductive for a mobile combat system to have with a melee weapon. I suggest adding a positive effect to this to go along with the attack part. maybe a AoE cleanse, or AoE heal.

Add a pull effect to this as a chain. Single target unlike AoE chain pull of greatsword. make for great trade off for the extra range. the 2 sec root duration just isnt useful when you are limited on ranged options.

Ring of Warding
This spell description is misleading. Since stability as well as dodging can get out of this. Also with the limited range and lack of defense and support from this, this skill is pretty much useless. I suggest making this a Ground Target cast like Staff’s Ward was changed into. Also grant protection and regen to allies inside the Circle and burning to enemies in the circle.

Orb of Light
this skill has to go. Its weak. the damage, and the heal. the aim on this is inconsistent. which makes it even more useless. Change this spell for something else more useful for support role. I suggest Orb of light function like a combo of Well spells and healing turret in that it heals allies around it. But the orb has to be casted on a target ally or enemy. casted on a ally grants that ally protection while in effect, and radiate heals to nearby ally every second. casting on enemy will damage the enemy over time, and radiate heals to ally around that enemy.

Wave of Wrath
I suggest adding some kind of positive effect to this. maybe a AoE cleanse or a AoE heal. the damage of this is weak, but has a purpose. with the short range to it, I would suggest more support like listed above. maybe as a chain or tied into the normal attack.

cant cast this while moving, so I suggest changing this into a Charge up skill that you hold down but can move while doing so. Also increase the radius of this. Since we cant move this requires larger radius.

Line of Warding
This skill need its cooldown reduced in half since it isnt as effective as described in the description. Enemies can pass over it at random sometimes and stability makes this useless. also players can roll past it. Also allow for this to be cast while moving.
Burn is too weak? I doubt.

The passive for this is just too weak to be of use. I suggest the passive on this get some kind of positive effect added on, such as chance to gain fury on 5th swing. the burn is too weak.

Heals from this is far too weak for a passive. even with signet of mercy and traited for extra heals, its not at all effective.

new Virtue idea to replace Signet of Mercy skill, which revives nearby ally and creates a shield around them for 3 seconds, and cleansing allies near the revived ally. the passive for this to gain swiftness every 4th attack for 1 sec.
Signet of Mercy doesnt always work.
also Ward skills are misleading, since players can roll through them.
