I never really read into GW 2 before it came out until a month before but I will say that it sounds like everyone just kinda accepted it but what really interested me is that you said “but the reality is, once anet does that said feature their way, lots of voices against the idea usually shut up about it” and there you are wrong because take WVW for example, they took out the orb because they realized the feature didn’t work out so well…..
There is plenty of other examples but that’s just one.
NOW if you are actually talking about before the game was launched then yeah they didn’t mention WVW to much and not many people complained but still, so far Anet has changed a few things due to players.
well I said features, not mechanics. the orbs in WvW was a mechanic of WvW.
This is the first big meta event a lot of players will see. It’s OK that it’s not Lupicus hard.
There should never be a lupicus hard Event in the Open World, just imagine the outcry in the forums about how A.Net hates casualplayers and all the “this is NOT fun” topics.
its the only large scale PvE we have, Why not make Dungeons super easy as well with that kind of logic?

its funny thinking back on it. Site like GuildWars2 guru had long arguments against it, and lots of other BS in the community.
People would say things like “Go Back to WoW if you want (Guns/Paladins/etc)”, “This isnt WoW”.
now a few months after release, and those same people that said it was stupid, have shut up over it. We have Guardians and Guns in the game.
There were more other features I didnt mention that also had the same treatment, which I didnt name.
But the reality is, once Anet does that said feature in their way, lots of those voices against the idea usually shut up about it.
anybody else notice this. It isnt just GW2 ether. I notice this with most new MMOs now days.
I really don’t think Anet needs to start scaling up events in new player zones to cater to endgame players.
Dynamic scaling or not, it’s a new player zone, and odds are any actual new player there isn’t getting much of a slice of the pie anyway when it gets swarmed by endgame players.
And I will add that most of the Level 80s are there because it is easy, it is farmable, and it requires little effort. It isn’t about challenge at all. They won’t run up the hill and do Svanirs Bane simply because it has no chest.
I am in empty level 80 zones all the time, attempting events solo. If 80s want a challenge, go there. It is what they were designed for.
no most of the endgamers are there because the spawn time for this meta event is fast.
having more meta events in the same area would also work. the downtime is what I didnt like. I like more meta events in the game like this, especially in the low level zones which are the most boring part of the game (anything pre 70)

Anybody else want Frozen Maw harder from the Norn starter area?
Its cool having all those high level and large number of players come together to do these events.
But how about something thats a big harder and takes more tactics to win?
Maw feels like a DPS fest to tag mobs before it dies. no challenge to it.
How about adding another large meta event to the zone like a dragon or something?
since its such a popular zone, this could really boost up the fun of the zone.
Why not just get rid of Levels?
This isnt a sub based game. its B2p, so no need for useless time sinks like this when the game doesnt even have a sub fee.
make everything the same level, and challenging, and no need for scaling anymore.
I notice some of the bugs are by server.
on Crystal Desert the Frozen Maw event is bugged now for days. stuck in the same phase.
but on other servers its working as intended.
could there be other bugs like this?

Staff for Warriors. replace all Banner skills, and put them all on the staff
Equal fun. The maxed ones are free to wander anywhere, but they don’t have the storyline.
But you can make your storyline. Being max level is like a open world sandbox rpg. You can explore anywhere and do anything. Low levels can’t do that. There are even built in restrictions like the glacé blow system to prevent low levels from playing high level events. Terrible. What happen to game shuts being for fun and the other stuff was just a side effect? Why restrict gameplay over levels?
He is saying toolkit should be a heal skill since it heals turrets, that way you can have 3offensive turrets if you want.
ie: toolkit + 3turrets or healing turrets+3 whatever.

that would be useless in PvP which all skills have to be useful in both PvE & PvP especially due to the limited action bar mechanics.
I understand that ANet wanted to avoid forcing people into the Trinity roles, but if someone WANTS to play mainly as a healer they shouldn’t be penalized.

I think the banners are a bit more akin to engineer turrets at the moment, in which case the banners are much more generous in allowing you to pick them up and move them. At any rate, that’s one of the tradeoffs of using banners… you get a nice passive buff, but you have to stay localized. If they were to be used in such a mobile fashion, they’d need a different tradeoff.
If it’s WvW you’re concerned about, I’ve found there’s no shortage of people willing to pick up your banners and run around with them (or sometimes off a cliff with them).
I dont see why damage would need to be nerfed 30%.
the banners arent like turrets. Turrets have combat roles. Banners provide no passive combat role. only actives. and most of the key differences come from boons. 2 of the 5 banners have an attack for number 2 that set them apart.
but doesnt regen heals based on individual +healing? otherwise +healing would be useless for regen since it only stacks in duration.

Make Healing Surge or Mending into a shout with support effects on nearby ally.
at least this could give low level warriors a bit of a support option in places like WvW.
Banners need different mechanic.
the Burst mechanics need change.
Too many Sigs, combine them into less Sigs, and give actual useful tools.
need more support options without being forced 30 into a trait line. And the support is in the wrong support line at that.
Needs better closers.

Stance Mechanics need change to be more useful, especially when traits basically do the same crap…
What you all feel about the idea of making the Banners summon mechanics similar in ways to Engineer kits, in that we can activate them and deactivate them without needing to drop them and leave them behind?
number 5 blast skill could be used to drop them so others can use like it currently works.
With this idea in mind, the idea here is to make the Banners more useful to the Warrior themselves, without limiting the one area that the class excels at, which is their weapon skills.
since in the current form, Banners replace weapon skills, which makes most non shout builds mostly useless or weak.
this will give warriors the freedom to switch to banners without leaving the banner behind, totally wasting the slot in a mobile battle.

Warrior, Engineer, Necro are by far some of the worst classes in this game….
1hander Item Preview is sheathed and usually blocked by armor models.

Please increase the range of banner summons so we can at least be able to grab them while moving without it bugging out with that auto runlock bug.
this makes it so warriors dont have to stop moving when they summon them.

I’ve noticed nobody talks, nobody answers questions nobody does anything social. This seems to be the least helpful MMO I’ve played. I’ve asked questions and get nothing. Try to see where people are and be vocal in pvp and show positions and such and nothing.
Nobody says a thing in this game. It’s so odd, and makes me want to play less and less because it feels stale like a single player RPG with a bad story line.
It’s because the server will silence people that talk a lot.

its the Paladin Mindset as I call it.
Although the class is not called Paladins, its the same general MMO developer’s mindset when it comes to balancing it. Even if that rule for balancing it doesnt make sense in action.
same thing happen in WoW and Rift. dont expect this to ever change in a MMO until a developer recondition that just because a class is a Paladin archetype doesnt mean it need to be gimp compared to other classes that fill similar roles.

No. I have more fun being 80 on a character. All game content is open for me at 80. I also wouldn’t say its a grind to get to 80.
as the person below you said, the process of leveling feel like a chore.
yeah there is more grinding at max level, but also more fun is open at max level as well.
I dont grind on my max level character, but I do play and just have fun doing whatever I choose to do. Not worried about gear grind, nor grind for models. Just having fun.
but while leveling, well the goal was always to get to the next level bracket so I can unlock the fun.
Unlocking the fun, wasnt the fun part. the fun part was playing the with whatever I unlocked.
Do you enjoy being a low level in GW2 more than being a max level character?
I remember Anet saying before release about the game being built on Fun rather than Grind.
Well I take that to mean, that the Grind is a reward for having Fun, and not the other way around.

I notice that Spectral Grasp doesnt fully pull target to you. sometimes it only a few feet or half way. sometimes its all the way. makes this skill pretty unpredictable.
My Necromancer is level 7 with 1 slot, and hard to justify using my only slot for it.
Out of that group picture only 4 of us survived to the end.

We ran into a few Champion events in Orr which was causing major trouble. Also the Sea monsters gave us a run for our money. lol. Almost wiped us.

We came together and decided to make our own events rather than wait for developer’s input.
We made an escort quest. From Divinity Reach to Orr.
level 80s have to escort a group of low level to Orr.
*Rules:
1) No Way Point Travel
2)No Gear Repair (can vendor, but no repair and no Gear switching.)
3)If whole team wipes, including the level 80s. than you all fail. ( reviving is allowed)
4) four low level escorts per three high level escorts.
Was lots of fun!
I would hope in the future Anet gives players more tools to make their own events and make their own fun.

Something about Turrets bother me.
I am still trying to get the hang of this,
but Sometimes in WvW I leave Turrets behind, but in the next fight I wont be able to respawn them since the replacement skill takes its place, and the toolbelt skill will place the turret back on long cooldown.
Is there a way to reset the turrets in situations like this without going to long cooldown?
Also another issue I have is that the F key has Pick Up turret as a main over Search Bag. So if items drop near turret it will pick the turret up first, basically wasting the skill all together.
What can I do about all these things I am having trouble with?
When players are scaled in WvW, how about giving them 40 trait points, so scaled characters can have some better play style options.
This way the game is more fun for more people.

Something need to be done about Engineer Down skills in WvW.
the 3rd skill starter cooldown is too long. I never been able to use it in WvW so far.
and the number 2 skill seem backward. I dont want people pulled to me(since main attack is ranged), I want people knocked away from me.
the heal is useless most of the time in combat.
and the first skill is pretty weak in terms of damage.
Yes I know the downed mechanics in general is bad across all classes, but thats no excuse for not buffing this.

hey I notice people doing groups but they at level 10 in the FoTM. can my 80 character skip to level 10 to join that group or do I need to go level by level?

I want to do some group dungeons on my alts, but all of them are below 33. I read that FoTM scales levels up.
