are you sure, that you are actually playing “Guild Wars 2”?

if you’re mid 30, try out Ascalonian Catacombs.
or jump on a WvWvW choochoo karma train.
or do fractals.
or just explore.
do story quests.
hunt achievements.
train your skills at the sPvP.

guest on more populated servers, if you think that most areas are too empty.

this game got tons of different stuff for everyone’s taste.
and it’s far away from being a grind, unless you’re going for a legendary.

Thats a pretty lame excuse, and didnt address the OP’s issues.
The Events in the game are hard to solo if people arent helping. thats an issue. Some classes are better at doing these than others. so leveling without gear twinking can lead to sometimes being underpowered.

People should realise that you cannot have expansions a few months after the game has been released.

I don’t get it, either. People log inordinate hours blasting through content at breakneck speed and then sound both genuinely surprised when they find themselves burned out and genuinely disappointed to learn expansions aren’t usually released within 12 months of an MMOs launch.

That’s why sandbox MMOs are better designed. Because they allow players to make their own content. Not sit and wait for developers to do everything.
Neverwinter for example has player made dungeons. So they will have unlimited amount of content. Never ending. Gw2 has finite. At some point people are going to get bored doing the same things over and over again. That’s why they want new play styles.

Mega Boss loot changes

Knighthonor.4061

This game truly does not reward you decently for anything, the new chest loots were like an oasis in a desert. Why do you think people flocked to them? The risk/time vs reward on most other things is absolutely horrible. If they are nerfing this then CoF path 1 must be getting nerfed too because that is far better for money farming, although it makes you want to smash your face into a wall. ArenaNet’s biggest problem is not rewarding players, people don’t want to earn a small portion of token currency for their main reward. People want to get cool loot and this game does not deliver on that front, instead it’s here’s a breadcrumb! Soon you’ll be able to make a whole loaf of bread!

How about just making other things in the game lucrative as well? Give finishing any event chain a chance for a rare/exotic. Reward rares for events that don’t get run often. That would certainly spread people out to lesser played zones. Make some actual hard events that reward decent loot.

I agree with this. Nobody does Temple events anymore on my server it seem. Also megadetroyer gets no go because of the rewards lacking.

Like the meta boss chest fights, but

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Knighthonor.4061

I like the meta event boss battles that drop chest, because they usually draw in numbers which make the battle seem more epic like a war.

But problem is that there are so few of them. And wi the long cooldownsl it blows. Also some fights don’t drop much, so people don’t tend to want to play them. That’s one less boss fight in the cycle of fun.

Also some bosses are just pure Melee unfriendly. From the damage to Melee units, to some bosses’s attack points being unreachable. It ruins the fun of playing a Melee class. Basically forces range weapons on us which can totally screw up a build. That a also takes away the fun. Because no hit, means no reward. Nobody likes no rewards.
The game doesn’t event reward any other gameplay role than damage. So that makes it even worst.

Frozen Maw
Shadow Behemoth

Knighthonor.4061

How about making it so that Supply Crate elite drops Environmental weapon kits that we currently dont have?

Could have some really cool weapons here.

I would like one melee oriented Environmental Weapon, 1 Ranged Enviro Weapon, 1 Support Heal/CC envio weapon (range)

Maybe a trait can give them this.
It could be one at random, or multiple with traits in certain lines.

Some ideas to this idea:

Siege Scorpion- looks sort of like a robotic scorpion that the character mounts, and use its 1-5 skills which are mostly melee and some mid range.

Trident Lighting Rod – Ranged damage weapon to replace 1-5. Nice damage and some control.

Sawblade – think like Gears of War kind of thing. Melee and ranged. major debuff weapon.

Dimension Box- a device that is scientifically a mystery, but this would be able to summon random types of minions, and call down AoE healing and boons.

maybe to balance it out a bit, make it so that every other supply crate summons the weapons instead of each supply crate.

What your opinion on this idea?

While leveling up, I cant put points fully into the branch I want without going into other branches I dont want to play with, because the trait system limits players by level requirements. whats the point of that?

How about exp transferred to alt?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Knighthonor.4061

Knighthonor.4061

The one thing that bothers me most about the game, is how boring it is to level up after the first time.

I have my favorite class as a max level, but the rest of the classes just dont have the same amount of enjoyment. But I assume thats because they not max level yet. Most are below level 30.

So no Elite Skills, and no Dungeons, and also no Big Dragon Meta Events…

this gets boring fast.

I try not to play my main much, so I can put as much time as available into my alts to get them to higher level of fun, but its a nagging task. the game just isnt much fun leveling classes that arent much fun to play early on.

Well how about a new feature, that allow a player’s max level character to not gain exp, but instead transfer it to a selected alt of their choice, for a week. one alt per week.

with something like this, I could have fun playing my favorite class while leveling my alts that arent as enjoyable to play. This gives players who dont have many higher level alts, the chance to have different ways of playing endgame content.

I dont do much grinding of gear/karma at all on my main. I simply play him for Fun. So I wouldnt mind a cut back on exp to be transferred to an alt who needs it more.

I like the Soldier classes, but the Warrior ( my highest level alt) just isnt as fun to play, but sure looks cool like my Guardian. But the other classes arent really that much fun ether to level with. But sure doing Dungeons with them and endgame events will be major fun.
having full traits to play with and full skills also will likely spice up the fun of playing them.

Why not just add a Shadow Knight and be done with it?

New Soldier with caster spell theme and melee like Guardian, but totally anti-guardian in every way.

Can turn ally into scary creatures to rampage enemies when they get downed.
Can heal ally but only by damaging and sucking life from enemies.
Can wear heavy armor like all soldier classes.
Can use brand new weapon (2hander axe)
Can mind control enemies while channeling.
Can shapeshift into monsters of the shadow.

Like the idea except for name and new weapon (weapons should be universal (used by 3-4 class), not 1 class specific).

didnt say 2hander axe was class only. It would be added to the game in the same expansion or whatever they do to add classes. other classes get access to it as well.

Make Circle of Warding ground targeting

in Guardian

Posted by: Knighthonor.4061

Knighthonor.4061

i’d say being able to cast while moving would be more than fine. if the effect the of the ring counts as “control”, then stability should ignore that, which i’m fine with. then once their stability is up, banish them off a cliff! or use your other CC skills. even then, not everyone knows they can roll out of it, etc or even if they do, will most likely be caught off guard and stumble at least once.

since it IS on the hammer, which is a melee, would be weird (for me) that it’d be castable with ground targeting. the staff is a “mystical” weapon if you well, and casting seems fine with that so no qualms with that being castable. wasn’t LoW always gruond targeted though? the recent change was just the castable while moving. unless if it dates back to before official release, then i haven’t followed h ow skills were back in betas.

No it wasnt always ground target. it was same as Circle of Warding, in that it was cast at foot. It was changed because of the limit.

Same situation for CoW, since its also cast at foot.

And the argument that most people dont know you can roll out of it, is no excuse. Why balance a class around fighting players who lack knowledge of class weaknesses?
Designing a class around that automatically sets it back at an disadvantage, Same situation of Paladins in Vanilla WoW. I really dont enjoy having my top class balanced around fighting people who dont know how to PvP. its not a fair design.

I cant help how skilled an enemy player is.
There are many Stability skills and traits in the game. even AoE stability skills. Making this skill useless most of the time in WvW, on top of server lentacy, and the activation time on a melee range skill, with short duration and long cooldown, that people can easily roll out of anyway.

that would be overpowered. If they allowed the circle to be ground targetable I’d lobby for a massive increase in cooldown and cast time. Possibly doubled if it was given the same range as line of warding has.

I play guardian, by the way

Its not OP, when anybody can roll out of it, or use stablity and walk out of it.
also the duration is short for the cool down that comes with it.

also being on a melee weapon, it has a activation time that makes mobile combat usage dull unless in PvE with mindless NPC or ikittenerg in WvW which even then its not very effective because of the above limits.

Line of Warding was changed for a reason. This skill deserves change as well.

No one said we will never do an expansion, all Colin says (again) is that we are currently focusing on Living Story and other ongoing to the live game.

Get a couple people together (doesn’t matter who as long as they are willing to grind ridiculously) and use a killstreak booster. Farm all the mobs in a deserted zone that have bonus exploration experience. The gains should be ridiculous.

You should be grouped so that all it takes is 1 attack to get you credit for a kill. Stack food and potion buffs for experience (you can use both at the same time), then maybe experience booster or various guild bonuses. Holiday food gives 5% more experience than regular food. Consider a food that gives you stats after a kill for obvious reasons. Some salads give you chance at swiftness on kill if you’re looking to move faster to the next mob and can’t maintain sprint easily.

The first time a buddy of mine showed me a killstreak booster, then suddenly used it without warning, there was a bit of adrenaline involved.

hey which server you on doing this?
I want to guest there and join up
