I don’t expect to be able to summon unique minions for each Legend, that would be too much work and they don’t care that much about Revenant players like they do about Eles. I definitely would like to see a more active “warband” themed Renegade, where you can summon various Charr and they are legitimate teammates, providing actual battlefield assistance the entire time. They should be more like pets that you can turn on and off, and you can only maintain 1-2 at a time safely, maybe 3 if you don’t go nuts with your weapon, and all five for a few moments every now and then. Maybe the Elite skill could just be to summon them all out at no cost for ten seconds or so every couple minutes.

Too much work? Look at Ele and Holosmith, they had lots of work. Why not use as well…?

This skill is seriously broken. Give it a 3 minutes cd, nerf it or simply remove it from the game.

I mean, boonrip on 10 targets is broken already, but that’s also on a ½s interval, over 10 seconds, with projectile block, boon prevention, combo field and unblockable.

Basically pop 1 in a zerg fight and it’s over. It can’t even be noticed among all the other stuff.

I know this argument may be unpopular in Warrior’s forum because you want your class to be strong, but please be serious. This is not what the game needs.

Heck no! This destroys Berserker builds and forces more team play and support.

Luckily there’s not a chance in a heated desert of that happening, given they’d have to create assets for a new weapon all of a sudden with less than 3 weeks to go.

None of these changes will happen except possibly some unrelated Kalla changes based on overwhelmingly negative feedback regarding the new Legend.

ANet basically has always balanced based on in game actions and performance of players and almost never player feedback. Players lie. Players over exaggerate. Players make bad arguments. However in game by collecting class usage, weapon usage, skill usage, etc they can get to truth of how and what people are actually doing. We can make arguments like Jalis will always be more DPS than Shiro but they can take a look in game and see that X% of all Revenants use Shiro Y% of the time in ABC game modes etc.

So until the Revenant completely falls out of the meta for each game mode and people actually stop using it then I wouldn’t expect much outside of Kalla tweaks. I guess people just are incapable of learning you can’t lie to the devs who can actually access the in game data.

Using this argument, why hasn’t Centuar Legend been fixed to be useful?

what if legend swap cd was reduced to 8 sec. it will allow you to regen faster 50% nrg and most rev utilities are with no or very low cd.

Still bad design.

If I am playing Support, I shouldn’t need to switch to dwarf or some other non centuar legend just for sake of energy, when that legend plays no role in my group role.

I want less passives and more active abilities on Legend skills. One of the big turn offs I have with some of the Revenant skills now is the passive nature of them.

The Spellbreaker is all about incentivizing people to play a shutdown build. Rather than just GS/Axe all day every day. Boon stripping is just part of the incentive because there has been and there will still be a ton of stability being spammed in PvP/WvW so giving the Warrior the ability to boon strip, allows him to play the Hammer set-up without worrying about people having a ton of stability. He can just feed off of that to boost his damage.

Interrupts and increased damage on interrupts is where the power is at. Get it right guys, get it right.

Except your cc = boon strip minor trait doesn’t work on targets with stab so… ??

Dagger burst strips two boons regardless as does winds of disenchantment and break enchantments. Not to mention boon strip sigils.

Fix Staff. Staff 2 need change, energy cost need reduced. Damage on auto attack need to be higher or give better Support and Defense. Staff 4 need to heal more. Staff 5 need direction targeting like Warrior GS3.

Healing orbs on Staff auto need to heal more baseline and provide some other effects to.increase defense and Support of self and allies.

Like another Bank slot just for recipes and materials that dont currently go into the material vault.

Also maybe give us a few Closet Slots to store other sets of gear out of our inventory to save space.

also another idea is for a Toy Chest, that stores all the fun items out of the inventory.

No. This would make rev roo similar to orher classes. Taking away energy requirements of weapons would mean increasing recharge time of utilities and weapons too. Rev is about managing energy and, not spamming every skill on CD. This is a terrible change that I see suggested too often.

willing to trade off being too similar to other classes, for a chance to have more fun rotation and more access to my skills when I need them.

Your idea is generic and unfitted to the aesthetic of GW2. There is already an adapted “paladin” archetype in Guardian, and this would be the pumpkin spice latte ugg boots version of paladin.

Simultaneous Heals/ Damage won’t be tuned properly, because it doesn’t work. It’s either too strong, or its garbage. Either way, it’s passive and weak gameplay. I played some rift, didn’t hold up for long. PvP was a joke. Then you throw in passive damage increase….

What this gives, regardless of attempts to balance, is passive, brain dead gameplay. A very spammy class. And a completely unoriginal flavor of it.

ok looking over that link you provided, that is nothing like a Rage mechanic,, its closer to Thief initiative.

You say this is generic yet all Elite Specs pretty much are combos of GW2 classes. Cant be more generic than that. Yet it works out. As I stated, I was given a simple idea for it, but just like all other Elite Specs, although similar, they still unique.
Prime example is Ranger and Dragonhunter Guardians. They are very similar in that they both have Traps and Bow usage yet still very unique from each other.

So again I dont see why a Guardian and Paladin Warrior cant also share similar concepts yet also be just as Different and Unique.

again saying Guardian is already the Paladin, is like saying Ranger is already the Dragonhunter. Its ridiculous. Guardians, lore wise arent the only Spiritual Fighters in the IP. As I said time and time again, Dervish were also considered Holy Warriors from there region and time period. Same with Ritualist and Monks.

Heals from Damage can work great. Since its a balanced feature. We already have something similar technically with Life Siphon which isnt a reach. So not hard to AoE the healing part of the damage. Also the Heal skill itself could have some effects here. As I suggested already, the Utility Skills could be some kind of Form/Tome/Kits that change the Weapon skills granting more support abilities to compensate for the lack of damage with a increase of self and group support and defense.

Also with the suggestion of a Holy Rage system as I stated originally, how could it be a Spammy design thats brain dead if you have a resource you need to manage it? you contradict your own self.

Makes sense because lots of Elite specs take a dual profession theme.

Also Warriors always could tap into some form of godly magic. Dervish literally were described as Holy Warriors from whatever land they came from.

So not a stretch for Warrior class to also get a Paladin, aka a Holy Warrior elite spec yet still be far different from Guardians, as long as the play style and class mechanics are different enough and fun to play.

no different from Elementalist and Ranger-Druids. they both tap into elemental magic and nature itself, but they not the same class at all. They different enough to still be unique in terms of gameplay.

If they ever put Greataxe in the game, it should be for the elite specialization called DESTROYER which should unleash 5bar bursts for EXTREME DESTRUCTION.

At some point I want a Paladin Warrior Elite spec that is unique enough from both Warrior and Guardian. Would prefer it had Great Axe, and played a Support healing/AoE damage spec that does tons of front line cleaves damage that heals nearby allies from damage dealt.

Major Spiritual theme to it and all. Holy Warriors, in the literal sense of the term.

Wouldn’t mind if it had Spirit Weapons but prefer the old method to them with better mechanics and more usefulness than the post nerfed version of the Spirit Weapons from Vanilla. But if there are better Paladin utility concepts I am down for it. Wouldn’t mind some type of Holy Forms(Kits/Tomes) that change our weapon skills, but with a visual form change somewhat like Dervish had but with each form having a unique holy warrior look. Maybe an Angel of Vengeance form and a God of Death form, etc.

Great Axe for all out cleaves and heals of allies. I played a healing class like this in Rift, with one of the mage classes. The name slips my tongue right now, but it was one of the most fun healing classes I played in a MMO before. Healing is based on Damage. You don’t dish out top damage, but the damage to heal ratio is bumped up to compensate for the healing and gain improved survivability which can be on par with Mesmers in terms of being an annoyance as well as a dual threat. Love the idea of it. We already have all the other roles down. A support defensive cleaver dps seem like a fun concept.

^^^ I disagree. ES gives classes new ways to play. Yeah some been bad designs at doing this. Not excusing that, but some been nice and fun to play if done unique enough. Druid Ranger comes to mind. Very different from core class and gives a new way of playing. That’s what I want from all ES. Revenant I believe been the one class least likely to do this. I like what I see with the Holosmith so far

Just throwing around some ideas and suggestions. May add some ideas for base class as well after.

I strongly believe Legendary Renegade Stance skills should all have dual functions as a form of Well/Minion chain skill combo.

Unlike Necromancer Wells, Our Wells( Warband) can be killed and CCed. So the trade off here is that alongside the Warband minion summons,

1) they provide both an Wells(or Aura or whatever you want to call it) effect to those standing in the circle radius.

2) They Attack Enemies or Support Allies or both with their own unique skills.

3)They all have a chain skill effect that can be used once the Warband minion is on the field. This skill can do unique things, But the Chain skill sends the whole skill into a short cooldown.


Lets start with some examples of the current skills.

Heal Skill: Breakrazor’s Bastion-

1) Summon Era Breakrazor to heal your allies in while shielding them from condition damage.

2) Era Breakrazor grants barrier shields to an ally.

3) Channel energy to Era, healing allies in area of you and Era, every second for 6 seconds.


Just an example. Skill has aura passive, NPC does its own unique skills passively on their own, and while NPC summon skill is active you can use chain skill to activate a unique skill of its own, and resets for small cooldown. the Chain effect can have the Energy cost, while the summons themselves have low energy cost.

Same concept should apply to all the Renegade Legend skills.


As for Weapon (Short Bow)

I believe this could be made a bit more special and unique. There are lots of Portals in the skill description, why not add a way for Revenants to use those portals as an after effect for mobile defense and moving around the enemy, sort of like Mesmers do.
This could also make the Kalla’s Fervor concept more accessible over all, since this would give Revenants a way to safely move in closer to the enemy and jump back as needed while portals are on the field as a result of using one of the weapon skills.

Weapon swap was the worst idea ever and the reason we are stuck in with half working class.

Wrong.

The class should have been had weapon swap. It was poorly designed class. With the addition of weapon swap, the bse class should have been given more baseline weapons. Instead Rev was given few weapons to use like other non weapon swap classes.

Also Ventari should have been stronger on the heals, and Support role, knowing full well the Druid was a new concept releasing at the same time.

Also Revenant should have been designed with additional Legend skills per legend so players can pick and choose. Energy should have started with more and cost less on weapon skills, especially Staff, which never made sense in the first place.

There is just so much wrong with the design of the class. Seem like Anet was conflicted with their direction for this class and just released as is situation.

Because I am tired of all these passive elite spec concepts for Revenant. Nothing interesting to look forward to for this class in the future. The creativity is lacking for this class

Anybody remember the rumor back in HoT hype days that the Bow the Guardian Elite spec was getting, had a some form of a stance ability on weapon skill 5 that allow you to switch between Support and DPS form changing the 1-4 weapon skills.

I believe something like that would been better for Firebrand Elite spec more so than Axe main hand. We have long bow already, but would have loved something like this for a Short bow. A support form for healing builds and a option to switch to a DPS form for dps builds.

Could fit well with the tomb theme and support oriented elite spec role of Firebrand.

Yea they are really just spirits. Sucks a lot. I wish they would change them but they will not. The engi is a perfect example. They revealed gyros and we all said please god no more ai. And we still got em.

I actually like the concept of AI builds. If only the skills were good. Other games do this very well. Had fun with my Druid in Rift, and my Warlock in WoW.

My understanding is that the utilities are not AI. They are more like wells with fancy animations. It’s not like a spirit or a minion that you can kill and it doesn’t act on its own.

And the xpac is out in September. They certainly aren’t going to redo the elite at this stage of the game.

Never say never. They gave us weapon swap right before HoT.
