I dont like Axe Mastery as Grandmaster trait. Need something more general.
No need, pve does not need balance, its a glorified cow clicker farming environment.
this is not just for PvE.
I would like more balance for PvP as well, but thats not doable with their current design of SPvP Seasons for their Esport which could be months in length.
(edited by Knighthonor.4061)
I suggest that if Esport will effect balancing, and the rate of balancing, it would be in the best interest of the game as well as the community to make the GW2 Esport into its own side game separate from GW2,
similar to what other big MMO companies who want to go into the Esport market are starting to do.
So I had just gotten through the story mission A Light in the Darkness and was about to end it when this happened. It absolutely terrified me at first, and thankfully disappeared as soon as the cinematic was over.
The Bleep?!
we becoming Risen as well…!! aww kit-kittens,,, the Risen are every darn were….
Hey here is an idea.
What if Grasping Shadow was a chain skill. First skill. pulled you to the target, and second chain skill does what the current skill does.
Problem is my XP bar for masteries is now stuck.
what you mean by this?
yo what game is that?
if thats the case, would be nice if I could slot a single legend to both legend slots and simply keep one legend.
When Anet gave WvW vets, a chance to test out HoT’s new WvW maps, why didnt you all bring attention to the problems when it was in testing period?
Anet been real silent lately, just like Pre-HoT reveal.
Maybe they planning something big like they did with HoT reveal build up.
what you all think about that?
What i tell you last time? next time you get to limit, send me 50% of your gold, and wallah problem solved and everybody is happy once again.
I am kind of tired of HoT. It ruined SPVP and WvW, and the new maps were only fun short term, with not a lot of cool boss fights mechanics without map hopping.
Some Elite Specialization are not as interesting.
I am ready for a new Xpac with new elite specs and new zones and new pvp system to play. Hopefully we get a player housing system for spending down time in, similar to the current drought in HoT. Also more bag space tools for toys and environmental weapons.
i am really for the next move.
In gw1, solo queue, aka random arena, was ruined by sync droppers, I assumed thats why they didn’t put it in gw2… I’m sure sync droppers still ruin games, but its not as bad, the matchmaker is pretty good… working with what its got.
A new guild called Players Killing Sync Droppers [PKSD] is recruting, shoot me an emal if interested.
I know Anet and GW1/2 fans are anti-World of Warcraft,
But this was one thing at least they did right. build Instanced PvP around the allowance of players to replace players that dropped match. This way other players can fill in. The matches wasnt just 5v5 arena king of the hill battles.
Thats what made instanced PvP there good before they went Esport in their first expansion.
Revenant should have been had a baseline Greatsword, Short Bow, and a few more off hand and main hand weapons.
Revenant was originally designed to be a single weapon class, which is why we have so many utilities at once, but lack in depth on weapon skills.
That design was hotfixed in public beta from complaints, but never made up for like the normal weapon swap classes.
This is why we have so few weapons to pick from, leaving few options to make a build for.
This is why I say, Anet need to give us either more BASELINE Weapons, or more LEGEND UTILITY SKILLS to pick from instead of preset design.
Rev can switch legends to activate another heal if needed. This one is weak because it’s where we spend most of our time-doing the most damage. If kitten’kittenting the fan, switch legends and use a real heal.
That leaves you with one less heal. Also means you have to not be on cooldown from Legend swap, and you lose half of your utilities and locked into a different set of utilities that may not be useful for that time being, simply to use 1 heal skill.
Thats bad game design. simple as that.
The way these legends are situated, I’d honestly expect the next legend to be Massive HoT Spoilers here, be warnedTrehearne. After all, he helped revitalize a fallen, currupted continent, then also coordinated and led an army that killed an Elder Dragon, which is something both Glint and Jalis became legends for TRYING EPICALLY to do, but ultimately failing. At the end, he then gave his life to ensure the brain death of a SECOND Elder Dragon. From a lore standpoint, he died as one of the single most influential heroes in Tyria's entire history, if not THE most influential. He was literally instrumental in finally breaking a cycle of destruction and recreation lasting longer than anyone knows. That...Is pretty legendary, and with his time using Caladbolg, Imwould assume you would get a greatsword. Also, I'm reasonably sure Braham burned Ehr's body. She's gone forever. This is the biggest spoiler my lord.
He to close in GW2’s storyline to ever be a legend, since new Revenants will play storeline with him in it, which would break immersion.
Hence why all the legends been GW1 ppl or older.
I wont cover every problem, but just some things I noticed.
Some things that need change:
————————————————————————-
*Legendary Centaur Stance:
A) Project Tranquility should be automatic, and respawn once destroyed, or if out of range.
B) Ventari Will should have its cooldown removed or reduced or heals increased.
C) all Legendary Centaur Stance skills should have an offensive aspect to them, if the energy cost remain this high.
D) Energy cost need to be reduced on all skills, to have any synergy with weapons.
E) Natural Harmony need to have its heal greatly improved if the delay design is going to stay.
F) Protective Solace should be made into Water Field.
G) Energy Expulsion should have a large heal on it along side current effects.
—————————————————————————————————————-
Salvation:
A) Nourishing Root should be baseline.
B) Tranquil Balance should offer some kind of passive heal regen along side current effects.
C) Serene Rejuvenation, along side current effect, should heal nearby allies a percentage of the damage you deal.
D) Tranquil Benediction should be baseline.
E) Hardened Foundation and Eluding Nullification should be merged into a minor.
F) Invoking Harmony should be changed from having an invoking requirement.
G) Momentary Pacification should be changed into a different effect on the elite, or to have an additional effect on elites.
——————————————————————————————————-
Staff:
A) Staff AA Damage need to be increased, and provide better damage reduction effects such as protection.
B) Punishing Sweep need to be reworked to not be built around enemy using skills. Perhaps swap the chain, and daze on first chain, and if interrupt a target hit them again for another daze heavy hit.
C)Renewing Wave should be changed into a ground target leap similar to Dragon Hunter’s F2, that deals damage where it lands and knocks down enemies, while healing nearby allies at the start and landing area, especially with this high energy cost.
D) Surge of the mist, should have a directional ground target function similar to Druid Staff 4 Vine Surge.
Does Esport mean we will get less balance patches over the same period of time as before Esport?
Is there a way to set up PC Controller for action camera mode in the game?
I just bought a Logitech F310 Gamepad and want to use it with Action Camera . That should be fun.
I believe you are missing the points…
@Dayra summed it up better than I could.
Even if EotM does attract more people it does it by giving the easiest, most mindless form of farming the game has to offer. That’s not why we play WvW.
As to the rewards, its just fine if your not getting one-pushed. If your not good enough to make loot there’s always a ton of other ways to get that stuff.
nah It does it by having access to the most players. If I want to play WvW and fight other zergs, I go to EoTM since my EB map is dead population wise.
EoTM design is way better than WvW. The only problem is the way maps are designed.
The EoTM map punish defenses since the walls dont really defend well since there are many ways around walls, and the structures arent well defended by design.
so what does Dishonor do again?
So far, the unspoken rule for elite spec weapons been that they are either a 2hander
or an off hand (only) weapon.
very interesting.
Would buffing the usefulness of the stat,Toughness, be too much of a change?

I stop playing HoT maps.
Yeah, and that did comfort me when I was playing unranked and didn’t hugely care whether I won or lost, as it would at most mean a single Daily missed, but now that I need to rack up X number of wins in order to advance the achievement, losses really kitten me off, no matter what the reason for them. I managed to get two wins in a row tonight (out of four total games), and it all came down to the team I was on apparently being pretty good, and the other team probably being kinda bad, but it was at least a lot closer than any of the matches I’d lost before, which were almost entirely blowouts.
I knew this league thing would create a negative atmosphere within the community, because the same thing happened in WoW once Arenas were added. it creates a min/max elitist mindset, due to the punishment of losing in a team game.
Especially in a team game that was originally built totally around selfish soloish play styles. GW2 never been about group roles, just all every man for themselves, and you thrust that into a punishment pvp system like this.
just not smart game design.
I notice before Leagues, Foe map was the most popular, but now its Forest of Niflhel that seems to be getting the most votes.
anybody else notice this?
is it the new meta?
I started having trouble in SPvP on my Druid.
Dragon Hunter burst and CC just far outdoes any burst healing I can dish. and the heals get interrupted.
Same for Chronomancer/Mesmer. a simple Poly, or GW, does it all as well.
Reapers are slight trouble when DHs are nearby.
But when every game has DH and Chrono, this is getting tough.
IMO CF and some glyphs should offer up some more stability or something.
and the core trees need some better defensive elements.
Glyph of Unity needs some added elements for survival. Because its not a threat at all to DH’s burst, DD burst, or any of the other high burst specs currently on the meta list.
how to become the best rev? Reroll to druid or tempest. but in all seriousness use the metabattle one. The Metabattle one. Use the pain absorbtion skill to combat condis and spam all your condi attacks, you should be fine
Been doing that. No where close to that kind of damage though.
hey any help please?
good video you have there.
in SPvP i am having trouble with dealing damage with condition build. I must be doing something wrong.
whats the proper rotation?
I agree with a lot of this.
not going to happen anytime soon. developers stated
Anet, please before you nerf Rev, please give us more baseline weapon options.
The class changed a lot since beta, and we no longer a no-weapon swap class.
Please add more baseline weapon choices before nerf.
I do want to reinforce – we absolutely plan to do a major quarterly balance updates every 3 months (with a short period after each update to make small tweaks before the next PvP league season begins). The next one is due to arrive after this current PvP season ends.
There are loads of reasons why HoT was considered for us the first big balance update (and the month that followed it) for this PvP League and we couldn’t do any more balance updates before this one, but the reality is none of them really matter since they are just words. What you all care about is action.
As we’ve said before: in 2016 we’ll do one major balance update every 3 months; shortly the balance team will start discussing with you the next big balance update for early 2016 with everyone to gather feedback; and hopefully in the future action will reinforce expectations.
I realize it’s not the immediate answer everyone wants to hear this second, but it’s the realistic one of where we are today – and where we will be when 2016 starts. I’m not entirely sure why this wasn’t clear before now, and I’ll try and get to the bottom of why that messaging wasn’t provided, but that’s exactly where we stand today.
Balance is super important in a world where WvW, Raids, Fractals, PvP, etc. are key components to Gw2’s success. And ensuring we have a new major balance update you can count on every 3 months is one of our keys to accomplishing that goal.
How I read it:
- Druids’ AF generation will remain broken till early 2016
- I will have to keep on losing a utility slot and having beastmastery just to ensure enough AF generation to hit the 10 sec cooldown while in combat till hopefully early 2016
- I will have to keep on asking for a suicide before every sanctum/arena GvG/Scrim round to be able to charge my AF till hopefully early 2016 (because still no OOC AF generation)
- But I should rejoice! Someone is about to gather some precious feedbacks
be careful what you ask for. that balance patch may be a huge nerf instead of a buff…
the skill doesnt even work most of the time. and hard to land as is…
confused. he won but lost 2. what happen?
I am confused by this system.
why you lose 2 when winning?
Leagues was bad idea. I said so. this is one of the reasons pointed out.
for the past few months I been saying Arenas or Leagues as you want to call them, was a bad idea for MMO game design such as Guild Wars 2.
Well I told you so just doesn’t quite say it…
everything I predicted would go wrong, has gone wrong, if not worst.

I believe Arenas have no place in GW2.
Cant balance classes unless you remove classes all together.
Eventually you are going to have to completely remove soloQ, which is a killer for this SPvP mode.
But oh well.
This ability is hard to land. and when it does, it sometimes doesnt work at all to immobilize enemies.
>Rangers must sacrifice most of their damaging skills to heal others in CA
>We’ll (further) balance it by preventing them from even getting any of the heals they put outIf they listened to you, I’d never use that Spec again and just play core Ranger. Why should I not get any of the benefits that I’m already giving to my party?
Druid would become Tablet Revs in PvP, aka never used.
It’s funny to see some of you rally for less fights and loot… With megaserver, you’ll always have high participation rates, more battles, more defenders, more scouts, more coverage, more rewards, more xp, more fun…
You peeps don’t really think beyond the current failing systems at all… It’s a shame.
You will lose your defenders, you will lose your scouts, when there’s no team framework to work with. You need to have a reliable team that’s on the SAME map every day in order for that to function.
Without it, it’s just a big blob fight. Like pve maps.
+1000. Nothing to add on this.
I’m not sure you peeps really take the time to think before you post…
Please explain to me how on a megaserver side with more people you would…
“Lose defenders”?
“Lose scouts”?
“Lose team framework”?
More people means more roles filled, am I right or am I wrong?
Do you all know what team speak is? Isn’t it possible to get your megaserver side coordinated through voice communication and map chat?
Getting on the same map is possible and the devs keep working on squad and guild functions. They are continuously developing systems for this stuff and looking at pushing up population caps for maps, but most of you aren’t even paying attention to things that have and are happening right under your noses.
Edit- I would also like to remind you peeps that there are 4 wvw maps that all count toward objectives. Individually and collectively there is a lot of room already on these maps, but again, the devs will look into things.
Feel free and join eotm and try to get in different instances all the time. Then count the instance people actually work together with scouts/roamers/defenders/siegers/zergers. I am sure you won’t find them much around.
EoTM has a map that is not built for that. Thats what you not understanding. Swap out EB with EoTM map and you will have the same situation. The megaserver is not the cause of that, the map design is. Thats why I suggested EoTM’s faction system but with EB map.
I said this earlier in another post
I fully expect AA, Glint heal, and shield 5 to get nerfed.
other than that I see buffs across the board coming, especially mallyx
Why? None of them all that without Shiro?
Yall do understand that right? None of those skills are all that strong without Shiro. I dont use Shiro in SPvP, so i know. Demon and Assassin are best non glint Legends.. dwarf takes some mastery. It need buff. Tablet need to be upgraded to IpadPro.
Glint not even all that without Shiro damage combo.
I believe Revenant should get a baseline off hand dagger and main Hand scepter for ranged damage/Support , and also great sword for melee damage two hander.
Axe main hand for more CC.
