Well, I’ve done enormous amounts of blinking and enormous amounts of stacking today in WvW. Never lost my stacks until I got killed.

If I wanted to go for tagging, I would run something like this with MoP on auto-attack:

How do you deal with power rangers? Do you call in allies? Is it enough to LoS them? Go in aggressively? Do you try to get dueling experience?
You get up close and stay in their face. Long range is the ranger’s friend, and they will tear you apart. Stay close, dodge PBS, and apply constant pressure. They’re glassier than you, so make use of it.

Now that the traited Blink is fixed you could actually portal bomb in stealth through all those CCs (or just bait the portal) and run them through with veil. The coordination will be tricky, but good guilds should be able to pull it off.
Moa won’t kill you, it will even give you nice dodge/speed skills.

There is no reason to “paint” tower ramp as “no-blink zone”, it has to be pathing problem.
The range indicator is still green when the path is not valid. The skill does not go on CD when used and we get the error message “No valid path to target.”
If we trait for “Far-Reaching Manipulations” (Dueling 1) though, the skill will go on full CD and we are partially ported.
We are still not able to “climb” stairs in WvW tower with this skill.
I would argue that with the pulsing mechanic they “nerfed” boomstrip against elite skills as well. Because now you could strip the 1-stack (wasting CD or clones), but 3 seconds later it will be reapplied.
Disclaimer: This is not a mesmer specific change, this will affect all classes across the board the same way so calling it “mesmer nerf” is just general tabloid labeling.
So yes, there will be meta shift.

Just go to PvP lobby and looks at all the recent abominations that are charrs with black wings. Mesmers don’t look any better.
The only good thing about charr Mesmer is iWarden and Chaos Armor
FYI. you could get Exceptional armor for WvW badges, but you won’t be able to salvage runes out of it (Travelers are expensive.)
What if it consumed all buffs AoE from foes and allies (even if stealthed)? Thief plasma payback.
CI is not going to help much against Smuggler, running is not an action.
Gs + Sc/F , push them, pull them, torment them …
I have my doubts about the defiance changes. Our usefulness will depend how the ANet tweaks the “damage” ratio between daze, stun, knocback, pull and whether our CS trait will count as “two” hits or just stun.
They also did not say whether the total “defiance” stack will depend on the number of players or whether it will have a fixed value.
Also if they happen to disable the rams all you could do is kitten the gate.
I usually attack score few auto attacks first before deploying phantasms, that way they rarely bug out.

I run the classic PU napalm cat as well for roaming and scouting. But it is easy to find a group to roam with so sometimes I go CI (just because I like it).
For tagging 6-6-0-2-0 with GS+Staff and MoP if with a really big zerg.
You could also go for support alternative with something like 2-6-0-6-0 with mantra heal and the distortion trait on phantasms.
You could raid with guildies

Also don’t forget you could interrupt most AAs as a setup for shatter burst.
The rangers would still eat full retaliation damage, so the ICD does not make much sense.
The devs reasoning behind the ICD change was AFAIK to “bring” Chaos Armor in line with the other auras.
They should remove the IC counter and apply confusion on every hit.

The only good synergy for Restorative Matras trait is Mantra of Pain.
Or if do not want to wait to get all the traits and do not mind sPvP, just hop in and start hoarding the leveling tomes

It is not going to be that simple, the SM wall could be trebbed by single person from a keep or tower.
And then the zerg comes rushing in.
What might be more useful is to change the outnumbered buff so it will work like boss stacks for (N)PCs.
Or he is using staff and a bounced projectile revealed him.
They already have boss stacks that take into account number of attackers, why can’t we have something like that for outnumbered?
But Charr iWarden is just so good for blocking the view, almost as good as big Norn.
For me, the heal on mantra was just secondary benefit and MoP was going to be the main tagging source so HM gives more damage per charge. But yes, with your setup IP is better.

I will be testing 0/(1,10,11)/0/(4,10)/(1,7) Mantra zerg WvW build this weekend GS/Sw+F.
You could always start leaping through light fields to build some retal or try the new runes.
MoP is amazing in PvE events now, tried 3/2,7,11/0/4,8,10/0 with MoP as auto-attack for Teq event and it was amazing how much damage I could do with it during the defense phase. Easily our best option to fight mobs.
Traveler are solid choice for PvP/WvW, especially if you do not use Focus.
