Oh, I still love my mesmer and I will continue playing it (when I am not in BnS), but that does not change the fact that for team PvE it only brings alacricity and for PvP it is almost as “good” as it was before HoT.
We got better Elite, mobility (without runes) and CS.

The downside: Nobody expects you to bring Mesmer.
Shatter mesmer is still viable. Why not try that out guys? Get some fresh air from all that invulnerability.

My new plan is to spam MoP with healing trait in PvE, that is the new Mesmer role if you read between the lines of the patch
For zerg tagging your best best is iZerker, MoP with traited healing and Gravity Well.
Veil (if you are on move), Blink and Decoy to get you out of sticky situations.
You can always respec for portal and stealth when you know you will need to hide in the keep.
So why all the fuss about this venom?
I believe the fuss is more about the whole set of changes than about venom specifically.
Basically the changes are forcing Mesmers back into the Shatter meta, but that was bad meta for Mesmer even before HoT, after HoT it will be in even worse situation.
Look at the team composition in the League right now and compare it with the situation before HoT. Before almost no Mesmers, now Mesmers on many teams, after …
Give it about a month after the patch comes out and nobody will care about the nerf anymore. And seriously, 33% faster cooldowns times is still pretty good yall are just mad because you won’t have extra short cooldowns while the rest of us had to deal with normal cooldown times
One problem with that statement is that mesmer does not have extra short cooldowns without Ala. Originally the Chrono cooldowns were designed to work with Ala, but now they are changing Ala but they are not changing the underlying cooldowns.
But the core problem really is that we don’t really have viable role beside being Ala/utility bot.
Freaking thief had stealth FOR AGES.
The PU swing was really a swing at tanky condi-mesmers ganking people in WvW.
With 0 regard for how it would effect the class elsewhere.
And here I got the impression from the WvW forums that they do not care about WvW at all.
Next MH is a Riffle, because Killshot Mesmer is a thing.

Except that wouldn’t raise the skill floor. At all. I’m simply saying, add some counterplay to CS because currently it’s extremely easy to use and the opponent can do very little to negate it. So add some counterplay to it. If some guy is fighting vs CS he should be able to do something to try and avoid it if he is skilled enough sso that he can also avoid mesmers burst.
Pre-emptive counters: LoS, Stealth, Block, Blind, Stab, Anti cc-traits
Active counters: Stun breaks
It seems to me you have plenty of ways how a skilled player could counter CS.
Focus also has good WvW utility for speeding out the whole zerg and pulling people off the walls and cliffs.
From the video it looks like Tek was running Duel/Chaos/Chrono with Bountiful Disillusionment.
So the Dueling was in the match after all
Helseth plays with stealth but without PU.
As another note: if you simply rep omfg and announce you’re wanting to mes PvP, people take you up on it.

All invites should be send out.
Few points:
- Minor that gives 25% run speed and reduces duration of movement impairing conditions.
- Shield #5 has no limit on number of targets so using it on wall or corridor against zerg will trigger a lot of hits.
- Shield #4 is now continuous block.
- Slow makes you easy victim for interrupt, guess which class has a lot of interrupt based traits?
- Alacrity is good for reducing your cool downs. It will probably be most visible in PvE content.
- F5 means among other things double elite burst.
- In general the Chronomancer traits are well though out and do have build synergies with the other trait lines.

Same problem as Sword #2 in TW so I don’t think this will ever be implemented.
One thing I am seeing though, is that alacrity is even better for elementalist in pve(if there was any question about its power before anyway). a chronomancer that can get 9 seconds of alacrity up (illusionary avenger + well of recall traited with “all’s well…”) puts icebow 4 on an 8.33 second cooldown. Maybe thats too long and it will still get dropped after going icebow 4 -> 3, but it still has the potential to even further increase its power.
But at least they will need Mesmer for that (and perfecting the alacrity rotation takes some skill)

TW is better for +1 D/D ele than moa. It does slow their rotation giving better opportunity to proc Power Block and CI.

I noticed the Revenant/Reaper targeted your wells, forcing you to dodge out of them before they could proc the final effect.

Pyro tested it a lot in dungeons and according to him it was very strong.
I’m not entirely convinced because the usefulness of a single block skill in PvP has always seemed somewhat “meh” to me, so this just becomes a slow phantasm summon unless you’re placing yourself in front of your opponent’s blade. Which was a mindset I thought they were explicitly trying to walk us away from, with the trait changes.
Multiple blocks that will follow up with Slow application is very useful in PvP with all the AoE and Thieves flying around.
I played interrupt Chrono without Dueling in PvP/WvW, because I was using Staff/Sw+Sh and I used all the Slow related traits. It was power based though so I did not worry about confusion. I did miss DE and blind on shatter, but it was fun and shield block looks a lot like chaos armor so thieves were hitting it all the time, becoming slow and squishy targets
If we are able to get people to play there will be raids. Though sometimes I even have problems to find +1 for PvP through our guild chat.
