Leader of Looking For Gandalf [LFG]
Worst Commander of Ferguson’s Crossing (Self Proclaimed)
We could go with the good ol’ trusty answer. “It will be ready when it’s ready.”
I would think, and hope, that the next few will be released, or at least revealed, soon.
If I am not mistaken, we were told only outfits would be coming to the gem store in the future, and any future armor sets would be in game rewards through various means, such as achievements.
they did also say there wouldn’t be expansions or grinds
They never said no grinding. Expansions came because so many people were demanding them. The forums kind of got out of the hand with people saying there needs to be one near the last half of 2014 when WoW released theirs.
I think it was also about money. I am not sure their Living Story method of content release was making enough money to keep them going, so they had to revert to the tried and true method of paid expansions. That, and large content updates like expansions tend to make people happier than slow, steady bits of content over long periods of time.

perhaps even give the benefit-of-the-doubt to those who spend more cash
I have spent over $1800 on gems since 2012. Probably more, not really kept track. I used to throw down $100 a month on a regular basis, sometimes more when keys went on sale.
I don’t think there is any special treatment to those who buy gems, or they would have refunded a paltry $20 worth of them to me, as I only have two extra Copper-Fed Salvage-o-Matics I was asking about a refund on.
I agree that a refund would be easier and probably money saving for them, compared to spending extra development time implementing an exchange method, but seeing as refunds are not an option on the table, the only other option is to come up with ideas to suggest to them on how to solve the issue of overstock in some players situations.
Just a comment about refunding gems.
In my opinion one of the reasons they don’t like to refund with gems is because gems can be bought with gold. From previous responses on old threads, they only wanted to refund gems bought with real money. I suspect that for accounting reasons, gold bought gems and real money bought gems are tracked separately and that when they refund, it comes from the real money tracked gems side. I suspect for accounting reasons they only want to refund real money gems because both the real money gem buyer and the gold gem buyer could both ask for a refund, making the gold gems refund a double hit on the books.
For people trying to get refunds within the right time frame for items that were bought with a mix of gold and real money gems, this might cause them to ok some items and refuse others, even if they were bought at the same time.
Well, according to the response to my support ticket, and I quote, “keep in mind that purchases from the Gem Store are seldom refundable”. My gems are always (99.9% of the time) bought with real money. I only ever convert gold->gems when I have an odd number of gems left, and need an odd number to buy one more item. Even then, that situation is rather rare for me.
I can understand their position on not wanting to refund items, which is why I would love a compromise where both parties involved can have a win, instead of the current situation where one party is at a loss.
Errr, you don’t have to pay twice. Transmutation charges can be obtained in game, no charge.
Yeah, that sounds like a decent method of going about it. I am sure it can be done without too much cause for worry over abuse.
Maybe coz A-net will never sell a CFSoM again?
Owner of 19.
There are always new customers. Right now though, there are people that would most likely never spend the money/gold to buy one, that could have one if we were able to give them away. No sales would be lost in such instances.
To say they would never sell one again just by making them one time trade-able is a false absolute.
With the introduction of shared inventory spaces, I have found myself in excess supply of Copper-Fed Salvage-o-Matics. I inquired about a possible refund with support, but apparently that is a no go.
Since they cannot be sold on the TP or even to a merchant, and have basically become paperweights to some of us, why could the “account bound” nature of them not be removed so those of us who purchased extras of them can be given the chance to gift them to our friends who don’t have the coin/real money to spend on them?
And to limit abuse of said gifting ability, why not make them able to be gifted (not sold on the TP, just gifted) one time after being purchased, and then make them account bound. Or if you wanted them to be able to be traded more freely, turn them into a consumable that has to be account bound before use, so they can be gifted multiple times if say, someone receives more than one from different friends, and needs to pass them on to someone else. Obviously still keep them off the Trading Post.
This would give us an option of finding a new home for those extras, and would allow ANet to not have to deal with more people asking for a refund for extras they have. Though, I am sure some people will still try for the refund, without success.
Just a thought. I hate having extras just sitting in my bank that are useless to me now and knowing I have friends that could use them.
Honestly, it all comes down to each person. I bought the ultimate HoT, and I am not displeased. I like HoT a lot, and feel it was worth the money. While there are only 4 new maps, the layering they did was a neat way to make them feel much, much bigger. And I feel the story telling aspect, which is what usually makes or breaks a game for me, is getting better and better. They are moving away from what they did with the original personal story and making the story telling more like it was in the original game, which was done very well.
I cannot tell you it’s worth the money to buy the expansion. I can tell you I enjoy it a lot. You will just have to take a chance and see for yourself. You will either like it and be happy, or regret your purchase, and possibly contact support to get a refund.
An entire world with no mounts for player NOR NPC’s is just too unrealistic.
Should I mention that some mobs in HoT have mounts?
Theory debunked. Mounts exist.
In all serious though, this horse has been beaten into the ground so many times we should have held a funeral 50 times over by now. Mounts are not needed. Waypoints exist for FTM (faster than mount) travel. There are various methods of gaining speed boosts already in the game to help you get those waypoints unlocked.
Mounts do exist in the form of cosmetic toys. Magic carpet, broomstick. Not many, but a couple.
Now go eat some pie.
This has potential.
Though, I think we need a few more mastery point options added for central Tyria if this were to happen.
I do like the concept though.
7 7 9
There. Real, honest to God numbers. Three of them too!
It might be possible they were helping each other win for the achievements, which can sometimes be frustrating to get, considering you have no control over which team you are thrown on, or who is on it with you.
In past years, it has taken me well over 30 games just to get 3 wins. That’s not fun. I would have welcomed a map that each team took turns getting the 3 wins.
What is really insulting is the lack of response from them.
You know, I find that odd, seeing as now that they have gotten HoT released, there was supposed to be more hands freed up so there would be more communication between the player base and the Devs. Seems to be at the same level or less than it was before release.
Did they fire half the staff after the project was done or something, or are they already working on the next one me wonders.
well i gues im forced to play the Anet game and pay what is 50 bucks in my country for 2000 gems and convert them to gold WP Anet.
I don’t think you are forced to do anything. It’s always your choice. You can play the game and earn gold the normal way, or you can buy gems and convert them to gold. No one is forcing you to do either, though.
Unless someone is sitting there holding a gun to your head, in which case I apologize.
They have the power to do everything they are paid to do.
I saw people complaining about bugs when I finished it. I never saw one bug during the entire instance. If I could tell you how I seem to have avoided these numerous bugs, I would. The six gods smiled upon me, maybe?
I guess that not everyone is being affected by the bugs.
Perhaps MMOs are not the games for you. All MMOs, and most online multiplayer games have regular updates to keep things running smoothly, and to add new features. This is just the way things are.
GW1 really doesn’t have updates anymore, which is why you do not have to update often.
I would suggest either getting better internet, or trying a single player game that requires less updates.
Sorry.
The thing is, not everyone is experiencing these crashes, so the best thing you can do is keep sending those reports in, so they can pin down where the issue is and get the coding fixed.
Personally, I have had two crashes, both on release day. Since then, not one issue.
HoT is the progression of the story. How could it not spoil what came before it? That’s like watching the sequel to a movie before the movie, and then complaining the sequel spoiled the first movie for you…
Oh no, they will put them up again eventually. We just have no idea when.
It was on sale for several days during the anniversary sales.
Wait.
Currently there’s nothing to do besides grind for mastery unlocks and levelups, because honestly as pretty as the graphics of verdant brink are it’s not like there’s anything that’s actually fun to do in it.
That is actually a matter of opinion. My guildmates and I are having a blast exploring, finding all the nooks and crevices they have hidden, and leveling up our masteries doing the event chains. The commentary on a lot of them is well done and amusing.
Wait. It’s end game stuff.
It would also trivialize certain jumping puzzles.
In my opinion, mesmers already do that, but I sadly know they had said it is just not an option.
I really would love this. Gliding is my new favorite activity.
I have to admit though, I laugh every time I die.
I cannot tell you how many times I have fallen to my death since yesterday because gliders do not work outside the jungle.
A special “Thank You” to Sidenti who sent me better bags in-game. Very generous!
Actually, that was me silly. :P
I don’t know of any giveaways for HoT.
I recommend giving up food for a few weeks. Maybe plasma donations? Or sell your liver.
It’s worth it.
Some of us like gambling. I enjoy hitting the casino every once in a while. Games of chance are fun, and can be rewarding. You just have to set limits for yourself, or you lose too much trying to have fun.
No, they are not all up yet. More will be coming as we get closer to Halloween.
See this post: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/This-is-almost-Halloween/first#post5543892
If they gave us another method for obtaining them, then yes, I agree on removing it. But, since it’s BLC or straight up gems to get them, I like them in the chests.
I am pretty sure the term “New” here is just being used to show an item that has been newly added to the store compared to items that have been available for a long period of time, not that the item has never been added before.
It’s been the standard for them for a long time now, and people who have been here long enough realize what is actually a new item and what is not, so it’s not really that much of an issue to warrant paying someone to go into the coding an change it, is it?
Why would you want to remove the BL Salvage Kit? That is one of my favorite items from chests, besides more keys.
Wait…you are complaining that you had a guaranteed way to get them before, and now that they are RNG and even harder to get, you are displeased?
I really do not understand people. Wouldn’t it be a good thing to have them already, instead of fighting RNG for possibly years to get all the ones you wanted? Why is this bad again?
What is the new drop rate?
Insufficient.
What is this, SW:TOR?
The only reason we have GW2 is because they were unable to do what they wanted with the game engine from the original, so that had to start over with GW2. I would say the same would be true if we were to see a GW3.
AS it is now, they have the tools they need to accomplish what they wish, so, for the foreseeable future, I do not think we will be seeing a GW3.
You know, the story starts in Season 2 of the Living Story, and I am sure it will continue in the expansion.
How is there no story?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

This has been mentioned numerous times over the years. While I have seen people for and against, we have yet to hear anything of it actually being implemented.
You are definitely entitled to skins you desire….as long as you earn them, luck bestows them on you, or you purchase them. Just like everyone else.
Good luck.
How can I earn them if I can’t play the raid to get them? My guild is a WvW guild. The quetion is why can’t I just have the skin I want? Don’t I deserve to be happy?
You can play the raid though. You join a second guild, and participate with them. You find a group that is doing a raid, and ask to join.
Step outside your comfort zone if you want the big boy toys.
Actually, they mentioned the Living Story this past Saturday on the live stream.
It will be coming back later on most likely. I would say they will use it to continue the story after people work through the expansion story, and it will most likely be used to prepare for the next expansion when it is time.
I rolled 5 characters within an hour and a half the first night of early access, and they all have different birthdays for some reason. I tried submitting a ticket about it, but they wanted me to “stand as close as possible to where the bug occurred and submit a bug report”.
Considering they were all made the same night and now show different ages (the fun thing, last year, they all were exactly 1 day apart on birthdays, whereas this year there was a 2 day gap in two different characters birthdays), I had no idea where I was supposed to stand and make a bug report, so I gave up and accepted that there was a programming error and lived with it.
So OP, be thankful your problem is not as puzzling as mine.
And I play it as well.
Kreejaffa, notice all the Chappa’ai in this game?
I have noticed. I think we should be seeing a Goa’uld invasion in the Living Story at some point.
Why yes, I do play Guild Wars 2.
Just an idea here, but maybe we should see how they go about it before we start telling them how it needs to be done? I mean, for all we know, they will have made the best system ever for doing a raid.
Story of my life. All dressed up and no one to marry.
I have only ever seen physical cards, and to my knowledge, there is no way to purchase digital gem cards. Also, again to my knowledge, the only amount available to be bought is the 2000 gems for $25 cards, and I see them less and less in stores, almost like the stores are no longer buying them, that, or ArenaNet is no longer selling them in as large of quantities as they used to.
