Leader of Looking For Gandalf [LFG]
Worst Commander of Ferguson’s Crossing (Self Proclaimed)
I am one of the ones that dislikes what they have done to the personal story.
Before, I was able to use the personal story as a way to help me level up, and it kinda gave me a direction to go, instead of just roaming aimlessly clearing zones. Now, I have to roam aimlessly, clearing zones so I can level up, so I can then travel back to where I already went so I can do my personal story.
I have several friends who have actually stopped playing after I bought them the game because they felt lost as to what to do. There was no story to guide them, so they just gained a few levels, felt lost, and just stopped playing.
I tried to tell them they only had to get to level 10 to progress the story, but they just didn’t like the fact that they locked the story away like that. It basically bored them.
To each his own I guess.
I tried to take a couple of screenshots showing the difference in text, but the actual text popups were not included in the screenshot.
As kaitou said, though, the new ones specifically say “Account Bound” at the bottom of them, while the old ones in my bank say “Account Bound on Acquire”.
That seems to be the reason they are not stacking.
The new ones I got that will not stack are Rejuvenation Boosters, Gathering Boosters, Experience Booster, Speed boosters, and Armor Boosters.
So, bought 10 keys, opened 10 Black Lion Chests. Got some boosts, and went to stack them with all my others in the bank…but they will not stack with the old ones.
I was attempting to report this bug in game, but seeing as the bug report window is bugged with random numbers instead of categories and sub categories, well, here I am.
I doubt they are ever going to give us an option to change our Order. Not really a priority for most people, and I am sure it would require a lot of resources to restructure all the personal stories on all characters to allow Order changing.
If you did contact support, they are most likely going to tell you the same thing I did. Re-roll your character, or buy a new character slot, and make a new thief.
Sorry.
It’s possible it could just be a driver issue. Make sure your audio/video drivers are up to date, and if they are, it may be that they are just causing issues. I have had more than one instance of new drivers causing me issues, and I had to roll back to the previous versions until they got them working with the next patch.
i created my thief like in 2010
You created a character in the game 2 years before it was released? Wow, you should have shared your secrets earlier. People would have paid for this amazing knowledge.
The only way you are going to change your Order is to delete your character and reroll it, and choose to join the Order of Whispers during your Personal Story play through.
It’s not a system issue on my end. The ONLY time it’s crashed has been 2/3 times I’ve done Teq.
Lol, sure.
50 bucks says it’s a problem with one of your drivers. If it was a problem with one of my drivers, GW2 on Teq would not be the only game and time to crash.
Actually, it is possible. I used to crash at Teq all the time, and yet had zero problems with other games I played for hours at a time as well.
I ended up simply updating my drivers for my audio, and that fixed my problem. Something about my audio drivers were conflicting with the roars from Teq, and it was causing my audio to crash, which caused the game to crash, and only Guild Wars 2 was affected.
So, it could be your drivers. May not be, but it could.
You realize that a large portion of Tyria now hates you, right?
It’s so beautiful.
Play at my funeral, will you?
This is the first instance of me seeing this. Guess I have never been at the right place at the right time before.
Learn something new every day.
Odd, when I looked at it, it said user does not exist, but now it shows him again.
I need an adult!!!
My favorite part about this topic is OP made it, and then was either banned, or deleted his account, because he no longer exists, so it is empty.
The world is in an orderly state.

Well, if the leader has not logged in in a year, it will take a lot longer than 5 minutes. That’s a lot of updates to download. And if their internet connection sucks, that could be a long download.
Don’t understand why they do not handle this the same way they did in the first game. If the leader does not log in for an extended period of time, leadership would automatically be transferred to the most active person in the guild. At least, I think it was the most active. It might be the next highest ranked active person. Or it could just be the first person to log in after the leader has been absent from the game for the determined amount of time.
Eh, either way, it does it automatically.
I believe that if any time was the right time for this gif, it has to be now.
Considering our first one we have ever seen is a Charr, would not Charr be the best race?
Revenant channels the power of the Mists through the legends of old.
^This.
And Rytlock is a revenant now I believe.
Yeah. And I am totally going to be making a new Sylvari for this!
Revenant channels the power of the Mists through the legends of old.
So, let’s get these discussions started.
I am so excited here.
New class. New specializations for all classes. New legendaries. And Necros using greatswords.
I might need to visit a hospital soon.
And that, my friend, is what RNG can do for you. It can be the most amazing lootz ever, or greens and blues.
See! Now doesn’t that make you want to jump up and down with excitement? I know I want to now.
But, doesn’t the world need more lame Lord of the Rings references? I know my world does.
But then I would have to be all geek savvy, and it is waaaay too early in the morning for that.
I find it easier to just make people feel dirty. I could throw in a sexual innuendo here and there, if you like.
You do not send mail to your own characters. They share a mailbox. Your bank is shared among all characters. Just transfer stuff through your bank.
You know, they keep everyone updated about what is being released on social media, their website, and right on the client, when you go to log in.
If someone cannot be bothered to simply read the information provided to them in a multitude of places, I cannot see why they would have the right to complain they did not know what was happening.
The only excuse I think is fair is when someone was unable to log in during season 1. But, as they have said they would like to revisit season 1 and make it available for people at some time in the future, they have already addressed this issue, and all we can do is wait for it to happen. It may be years, but if they want to do it, they will get to it.
They are on a timer. I am not sure of the time frame, but they respawn at a certain limit after being finished.
Odd. The second time I was in a zone that succeeded in killing it, I got a second box from it. RNG never favors me…
I must be using black magic.
We will learn what it is, and what it costs (if anything) on January 24th, when they announce it at Pax.
Now I really want to bake cookies…and I have no cookie dough…
What kind of cookies exactly?
Truly an awesome story thus far. I was crying when Caithe killed Wynne. When the story touches me enough to make me shed tears, I deem it a very good story.
Seriously, bravo to the writers, and to the design team. They brought out a good season of story. It was waaaay too slow paced for my liking, but it was good none the less.
I spent 800 gold trying to craft Spark. Chances are the same. It’s pure RNG.
Btw, gave up on Spark.
That’s my problem mostly. I take from everything else, without ever actually coming up with my own creation. I am a master copy/paster though!
I have always had much difficulty with my character names. I have never been able to stick to any one scheme when creating then. And I don’t think I have ever been able to stick to the lore of the particular game I was playing when thinking up a name. I always let my love of literature or tv series be my guide.
Obviously, Stargate has always been a huge focus for me. Among my gaming community, I have held the name Kree since 2004. So I try to incorporate it into at least one of my characters in every game I play, hence my Ranger, Kreejaffa.
I used Stargate as my theme for my Ele as well. Seeing as she is a user of the elements, I chose to name her Oma Da Sala, aka Mother Nature.
For my character that has become my main, I went to the world of Middle Earth, and after pouring over words and translations in the Elven language( and remaking the character 3 times because the game kept timing me out at the naming screen), I came up with the name Ryn Uin Duath. For those that actually know the nuances of the language, I know I killed the structure of it horribly. Properly, it should be Duath Uin Ryn, but it just did not have the same flare to me. Roughly translated, it means chaser/seeker of the night/shadows. If I would have structured the phrase properly, the translation would have said the same thing in reverse, which is what lead me to make it Ryn Uin Duath instead.
My Mesmer was a fun one. For anyone that has read the Elminster series from Ed Greenwood, you should recognize the name Myrjala Talithyn. It was the name used by Mystra, mother of all magic, Goddess of mystery, when she took human form to tutor Elminster when he was young. I thought it fit my Mesmer rather well.
And just for giggles, when making my Norn Thief, I decided to use a bit of a pun. I named him Sharkbait Brewhaha. I thought it was a clever little pun myself, and it’s gotten a few laughs over the years.
Several of my other female characters have used the Elven language for their names as well. I am not too creative when it comes to names, so I have never been able to really be specific to the lore of the game in question when naming characters.
What keeps me playing? I love the game concept. The lore. The combat is just about the best compared to every MMO I have ever played. I keep doing my dailies for AP. I run WB events for money.
Though, I can honestly say I play a lot less than I used to, because a lot of it is becoming stale. I have leveled 10 characters, and have 100% map completion on 8 of them. I have built several legendaries. I have crafted a lot of ascended armors. Run dungeons. Done the personal story. It was all awesome, and I loved it, but I need something new. I need a new class. A new race. I need more than an hour or two or new story every few weeks.
Mostly, right now, I play the minimal amount of game time I can every night, just to get the three dailies, five of the six Wintersday dailies, and ascended mat crafting done, and then I log off. Sure, when there is a new episode of the Living Story, I am on it like a pack of dogs on a three legged cat, but otherwise, things are a little stagnant for me.
I love this game. I have devoted over 4900 hours to it over the past 864 days. I want to devote more to it. It just needs more story for me. I love story. It’s what keeps me focused on a game.
So, I guess what is really keeping me going is hope that my story needs will be filled. I want more lore on the Elder Dragons. I want to learn more about the races of Tyria. I want to see more areas from the original game. To learn what has happened to Elona and Cantha in the last 250 years! And for the love of Pete, I want to see what will happen to Lion’s Arch! Will it ever be rebuilt, or will it remain in ruins until Guild Wars 3?
I have it! “I clicked a lot after spending money”.
The perfect title for it!
Wait…..that fits almost everything we do in the game now…..never mind.
Forget I was here.
Sorry, I need a ladder to catch these things sometimes. I swear I am not blonde, however much I may act like it.
Not a feature patch. Living story episode.

Some people don’t want to bother doing the content themselves, or tire of it, and wish to just get the rewards. I myself spent several hundred gold buying paths in Arah because I hate that dungeon.
It’s a thing. We all like to have things. I used the thing. No regrets.
Allow me to burst your bubble. I have played my Guardian, which uses staff, pretty much exclusively for over 2000 hours, and I have never gotten a pre drop on him. The only pre drop I have gotten was on my Ranger, almost two years ago now.
Honestly, I think the best way to retain customers is to communicate with them better, show them that you are listening to them by actually fixing the things they want fixed, and perhaps stop fixing things that are not broken.
Also, I agree with the GW1 areas. Beautify them with GW2 style graphics and tweeks, and let us have them. I love exploring. Give me new eye candy.
Wasn’t broke when I did it. You must have broke it! :P
Maybe they are just selling like hotcakes everywhere, and cannot be kept in stock for the demand of them?
I craft ascended mats every day as part of my routine. Got that daily done without even realizing it.

1 Pre drop from random karka mob during the Southsun Cove event over a year ago, during Season 1 of the Living Story.
This happens…
You, sir, win all the internets.
Also, I find the amount of purple in the picture quite lovely.
You do know that you can’t do the personal story until level 10 now, right? Lvl 0-2 gear isn’t optimal anymore. Or so I don’t think it is.
From what I remember, there is a set of lvl 0 stuff that has better stats than lvl 10 stuff.
Actually, if you are looking for all that, I believe LotRo has had that stuff for a long time now.
Well, not the mounted combat. That is fairly new, but still, it has it now.
I know your pain. It happens to me, on average, at least 3-5 times a month. Either I will randomly get disconnected from the game (and the game alone, still stay connected to ts and everything) or I will get some random crash where an in-game error message pops up saying the game has crashed, forces me to send an error report and restart…which means I can never get back into my instance, so I get no reward.
It is frustrating. I’ve been sending error reports on the same type of crash during the same event for months now with no fix, and I know it is not just me that it is happening to, because I get thrown into dead zones when I am back with other people complaining about the exact same thing happening to them just then. It’s clearly not just on my end.
For now, I just shrug it off and go about my dailies. What else can you do?
I want a santa costume to go with my new santa hat.
Oh, and an expansion that adds at least 1 new race, and at least 1 new class. And by new class, I mean ritualist.
