Lets nerf guardian Virtues also then.. Gunflame is a class Mechanic skill, not a weapon skill.
And in general warrior received allot more nerfs in the past compared to some of those DH nerfs.

Frankly as someone who has played guardian since head start I would love it if they would change the traps into necro style marks or even wells.
That way nobody could complain about being ambushed by them.
But at the same time they would be ranged & share any boons granted with allies which would fit so so much better with the archer feel the spec is supposed to have.
(they would also make for some interesting rune choices)

warriors have a skill that does exactly the same and yet it requires 3 adrenaline bars filled and has a 15 second cooldown so what exactly justifies true shot having a 4 second cooldown ?
You mean gunflame? The skill that does 10k damage?

I suppose you could complain about the DH hitting you from outside the screen cause you’re focusing on someone else, but that same can happen from multiple other classes with hard hitting ranged skills. The best you can do is focus the DH down and it is something your team should be doing anyway when a DH is present on the enemy team. You don’t want to let a DH free casting from range any more than you’d want a staff ele doing it.

I find that gunzerker counters DH hard. Sometimes you can even one shot a DH sitting on his traps and him not realizing what the hell just happened. Only way for a guard to survive it is to RF if the warrior is running signet of might.
I’m waiting to see how DH gets played in the next pro league matches to see whether it needs nerfs/buffs.
Right now, i see more value in running medi guard with the only trap being purification and perhaps a bow.
In my experience thus far, all these thfs showing up has not been a good thing at all. I’m at the point where i hope the enemy team is full of thfs to assure a victory.
It’s not that thf is bad, it’s that the quality of thf players seems to have dropped substantially and all they do is die constantly.
What kind of class/spec is batman using that he’s getting killed by thf auto attacks?
Currently, the only purpose ranked serves is for leagues since the leader boards no longer exist. So there’s no point in leaving it open if there are no leagues active. I suppose you are complaining because you don’t want skyhammer and the stupid place with the orb in rotation?
And there’s very little way of preventing it too, unless you take stand your ground or focus 5.

When using guardian, my problem hasn’t been the thf and necros, but rather, the gunzerker warriors that can one shot you. Now that gives me pause.

Maybe i should just run passive condi dmg builds like necro or mesmer. I simply could run a stealth gyro engy or thief and wait for it to go away.
Maybe but last time i checked warrior is still a part of this game and when so many of its skills are time based 130 range weapons and simple stun break and smash of the F3 negates hammer/shield/mace/sword skills skills that need to be set up and are not brain dead. Facing someone of decent skill will know when to time it.
Anyone who was any good last PvP season could get to legendary running bunker mesmer/ power rev/ and scrapper and with the complete destruction of the earth trait line with ele in PvP. It be nice if there was actual counters and set ups to dmg then me simply smashing buttons on my OP BUILD.

People die a lot now. Which i guess is fine since it really separates the scrubs from people who actually know what they’re doing.
I use a similar set up right now, except instead of hammer/longbow, i use GS/mace/focus. I also use marauder and use hunter’s fortification over heavy light. Jiyu, would you mind explaining what your attack rotation with your set up is? I’m currently use the classical focus 5>judge’s+WW.
I will give your amulet a try though. I have been considering changing from maurader, due to the fact that even with all the healing i can put out, there’s way too much burst running around. Particularly from gunzerkers who can one shot you. I can concur on soaring devastation being a good choice over piercing light for this spec. It follows the same style of medi guard: using your damage utilities to deal damage and heal at the same time. It’s very good cc too.
I use sigils of generosity + hunter’s fortification and i’ve found it’s helped me mostly ignore condis. It’s the direct damage burst that i worry about right now.
Ah. I’m still deciding whether to go curses or spite.
Been playing a medi DH with just purification for traps. It’s been working pretty good. Haven’t had a problem with condis most of the time. I do not see the class negatively impacted by this balance patch.
I think you’re just confused.
Only one trap was unblockable making the daze unblockable. It provided excellent counter tactics vs classes with blocking such as mesmer and revs. It also worked well against other guardians. The other traps are blockable so the daze was avoidable.
Now, they nerfed two things. One, they reduced the duration of daze from 1 second, to half a second. Understandable. But for some reason they decided to also eliminate the unblockable daze aspect from test of faith.
The supposed daze spam you’re talking about will still happen anyway. They didn’t remove the daze trait from DH. So gods know why you decided to mention it when we’re only talking about test of faith. The only thing they really took away was one unblockable daze that was excellent for disrupting stomps/rezzes.
You’re also confused about another aspect. I didn’t say DH/guard got nerfed to the ground or that the class is in a bad place in pvp currently. I merely explained that the test of faith daze nerf was unnecessary considering they already reduced the daze duration, and other classes already have access to unblockable dazes/stuns.

What Necro can do has no relevance to what Guardian can do.

This seems like a pretty minor issue in this meta, so i don’t see why anet should waste time on nerfing something that only kills people who aren’t paying attention.

This might be unrelated but, is there a necro skill that can pull downed allies? I’ve been randomly pulled or teleported to mostly allied necros while in downstate without doing anything myself.
Had a mes on my team that was also seemingly pulled/teleported to an allied necro although having already used downstate decoy. I thought it was weird but then again I don’t know kitten about necros.

I do hope this balance patch has taken into account the state of guardian not just in pvp, but in raids as well. Here’s hoping there’s a lot more in the patch notes for this class that aren’t nerfs.
A good counter to boon corruption might be better condition removal, but they would need to buff shout guard, and whatever other classes have lots of cleanses to be able to compete. Then you’d want to get another class that can kill the condition cleanser with physical dps.
I wish they would just make the shout trait remove 3 condis instead of 1. That might help put the class back in meta.

That’s a potential risk, but that’s also why we’re putting these changes in weeks before the next PvP League season. If we get an early indication that things aren’t going the way we want them to we’ll have time to make any needed changes.
I’m sure that’s exactly what will happen. The forums will fill with threads complaining about the burst meta and how it’s the worst meta ever.
Just consider however, that from the viewer’s perspective in pvp, a burst meta might be more entertaining than a bunker meta. What if the new meta becomes a burst meta? Might be for the best. You can’t please everyone.

2) Why limit our play style choices? If I enjoy cele ele in WvW I am not allowed to play it in spvp just because you say so? If you want to get true balance separate spvp and pve skills, tune what needs to be tuned and stop destroying play styles that you see as too powerful. Remove amulets altogether and let us choose what stats are on what gear, give us the choice, this cookie cutter nonsense is getting boring.
Half the forum has been clamoring to limit your playstyle by having cele removed. I think it’s fair you at least aim your fury at them.

Well, ele and mes seem to be going down for the count. Necro actually getting a buff to their boon corruption which is anathema to a guardian.

Personally I was getting tired of people wearing celestial type amulets… Fighting should be worrying to stay alive because you know mistakes could be fatal if your opponent plays right
