Nope. Nice things will go to the gem store. When was the last time we got any new decently looking item as reward for playing the game? And when was the last time this item was a weapon?
On second thought, nope.
There have constantly been vanity items added for playing the game. Recently it was scarlets head, WvW item sets, PvP exclusive items, Various back items, Buffable vanity items like halo/horns,Quaggan and countless other tonics. Mini rewards and so forth. Too many to remember.
Are we playing the same game?
Over a large data set the drop %age should be close to average.
If you can collect a large data set for different people then you can prove this.
Are you kidding me. Some people like me don’t have time to grind trivialities like mobs or liadri repeatedly until we get the reward. You can already get legendaries and ascended items from grind and those aren’t available in the gem store. Some people got stuff to do. Lives to live and they can get some items in the game by paying money which again they worked hard to earn. So just because you play the game 24/7 doesn’t mean that those who don’t can’t enjoy the game by spending some hard earned money into it. This game was created so it can generate some profit. That isn’t possible if there isn’t any inflow of money.
There is no gemstore item available yet that is better than legendary. So if you want belinda’s sword. Sure take the sword and add new legendary skins in the gem store.
I love everything that’s being introduced – account bound dyes, the wardrobe system for armour skins – but Curtis, honey…
Tonics for certain Town Clothes pieces? It’s laughable. I can’t even imagine how such a suggestion could be put forth as anything other than a joke, and a poor one at that.
Like many others in this thread, I appreciate your responses and would appreciate it even more if you would explain why there is a problem with mixing town clothes with other town clothes, since that system works already.
I did like my costumes in GW, and you could create some lovely combinations with the different festival headgear, however they were severely limiting and often you would see a dozen other characters that had the exact same look, even down to the dyes. In GW2, despite the loss of many emotes and the ability to dye weapons, among other downgrades from the original, you gave us a greater variety of costuming options with town clothes, and I spent a fair bit of real money on them. The pieces I didn’t like – those hideous hats that make everyone bald, for instance – I actually destroyed, to make room in my bank for more of the pieces I did like.
And now you wish to take away this feature that so many of us have enjoyed so thoroughly, for so many months, without even the courtesy of a real explanation.
I love ANet, Curtis, but I will be among those queueing up for a fat refund when this goes live, and I will not be purchasing any of your future “outfits.”

but thats just like making another armor class which is incompatible with everything else. They want to create a single ‘outfit’ without design limitations.
So… while light chest piece may be incompatible with heavy leg pieces, a full costume may be equipped which has the features of a light armor, or heavy armor, or a new arbitrary new armor since they are now a set and mix and match isn’t an issue. This will allow them to create more variety of outfit sets that bend the limitations which have to be put there to allow mix and match. Looking forward to the new stuff!

Its a good thing that the costumes can be used in combat. I understand that the town clothes cant be mixed and matched with armor skins but:
-They can be mixed and matched with each other
-They can be mixed with head armor and backpieces
Proposed Solution:
-Why not give the users to apply the town clothes like they are now except:
—They can use them in combat
—Head/Back pieces can be selected from armor skins or townclothes(convert all town headpieces to armor skins
In conclusion I would like to say even if my suggestions arent easily implementable, I’m still happy with the change and look forward to more improvements in this area!

Proposal Overview
Fractals should be used to tell as more about the lore/history of Tyria.Goal of Proposal
Increase the amount of lore used for the fractals and creating new fractals which story and background informations. This is such a good oppertunity to tell us about things that happende before GW2, things that could happen in the future, things of an alternate version of Tyria.So an interesting challenge we always face when trying to make any type of dungeon content more lore heavy, is they are by their very nature highly repeatable content. Historically our design philosophy around group content that falls into that category is to try and provide enough context for the experience to make sense, but not heavily attempt to tell deep story in these instances.
While the core concept of using fractals to continue to show great moments in the history of Tyria is indeed totally in line with our own thinking as well, the struggle we always face is how much of that story we can really put there. Once you play it once or twice, you really just want to actually play the content and not wait around for all the story moments, scenes, cinematics, etc. This can lead to a problem we used to run into in Gw1 where some people in the party really wanted to see the story, and others had played it before and wanted them to hurry the heck up.
Our work around for this for Thaumanova for example was to provide a story version of it that was around during the living world release with far deeper exposition, and the current fractal version today that tries to focus on the game play. Similarly, story dungeons are really intended to be played a handful of times to get the story, and explorable mode dungeons are very story light since they are intended to be re-playable based on the core content.
What kind of fun ideas can you come up with to help allow us to get more story into the fractal experiences, without the cost of slowing down the core re-playability of the game play that is at the heart of the fractal content?
A common technique used to tell the story while engaging the player is to use player input sequences. The players have to input specific keys in order for the cut scene to progress otherwise you have to retry till you get it right.
The last game which told a story surprisingly well while engaging me has to be Ultimate Ninja Storm 3. I think the dev should take a leaf out of that games village book

Its because of the nyquist rate. To get a clear representation you need a higher resolution sample(double) than your display resolution.

Now that I’ve grinded my Gift of Battle. I expect new legendaries to be introduced because the current ones dont seem so legendary anymore. And plz Account bind them with no soulbind..
Now that they’ve increased the requirements for the legendaries, when are the new legendaries coming out. Just thought if I had to get a legendary with increased requirements, it should be a new one.
Legendaries have a feature that their stats scale with the level cap.
You can also select the stats of the legendary. They are like the ultimate weapon.
Previously exotics, ascended and legendary used to have teh same stats/
If you don’t want to do what it takes to make a legendary, then you don’t deserve it. Otherwise, pay the premium or deal with it.
Im willing to pay the premium if EVERYONE who has a legendary pays the premium. Cant have double standards…

People still didn’t get it that, unless they’re working on some ultra-new virtual graphic generators ( used by e.g. architects ), they will not need 16 gb of RAM in the nearest future ( a couple of years at least ).

That was the point of building this computer. To make it extremely powerful and to future proof it for a good amount of time. Is there something wrong with that? Especially when ram is one of the cheapest things on the rig.

In the old days MBs and OSs could not address or access memory above a certain limit, in today’s world of multi-tasking, multi-threading, multi-core multi-virtuial machine systems that isn’t a problem, case in point, my wife likes to work in photoshop, corel draw, and illustrator all at the same time when working on a project both of the Adobe programs are resource hogs and while Corel isn’t as demanding it isn’t a slouch either.
While running any one of these programs by itself 8g is more than adequate, open all three and try to get anything productive done is frustrating to say the least, granted there are more factors here than just memory pool size, allocation, and usage, graphics program need well really good graphics, quick hard drives (for scratch disks), lots of processing power and a large memory pool, she does do some 3D rendering in Maya which is probably the most intense app she runs which they only recommend 8g of ram also, but open it along side the other products all running at the same time …..well in a 8g system it isn’t pretty or productive unless you like waiting.
Bottom line….I like to play GW2, so much so that I have ran Premier rendering video to Encore and let Encore author a DVD while playing GW2 which stresses my system I don’t believe I could have the processes running in the background, render video and play GW2 on a 8g system without problems but I’ve never tried it either.
As you say RAM is one of the cheapest upgrades you can add to a computer not as cheap as a just a year ago but still if your building for the future (which we all do) why not add in capacity that may not be used today but when Win9 comes out and can address 128g of RAM (hypothetical) you’ll be ahead of the game, everyone who builds there own PC has a goal or objective in mind, software they know they will be running but the demands of future software are an unknown so if you build, built the biggest and baddest PC you can comfortably afford but don’t scrimp on the power supply.
one core can still use 4GB RAM maximum. You would know if you studied computer architecture. Its because the length of an instruction in the instruction set.
