I’m glad I’m not the only one that feels that ANet did a “bumb rush” and just pushed this out the door without internal testing. If they did internal testing then they need FAR better employees as the existing ones are probably not even playing the content and just surfing the internet (possibly playing a different game!).
Elementalist is just plain ruined at the moment. I have a level 80 that has armor with toughness/vitality. My game ended on the Straights of Devastation because the damage output was very weak and my character had a 25% chance of dieing on a 1v1 and a 90% chance of dieing on 2v1. 3v1 it is run and with a 75% chance of not being able to run away.
The class needs to be totally reworked at this point. I mean remove everything and start from the beginning. Maybe in 2-3 years ANet will finally have it playable. In the end, I have a level 80 mule
I’d start a new class and use the elementalist as a mule. They make fine mules, and unlike real “animal” mules, the are potty trained!
Seriously, it isn’t worth falling into a money pit over getting all this armor. I gave up with the Straights of Devastation as I realized it just wasn’t worth continuing. I waited 2 years to play this game when I found out there was going to be an elementalist class so it is a huge disappointment. Warrior is fun between going to do range with the rifle and melee. I bash Moa birds around if I start becoming board as plenty of Moa killed my elementalist.
Ebonhawke Pipeorgan is totally busted. I’ve just discovered it for the first time (never found it on any prior toon) and couldn’t interact with it.
Did anyone even think of beta testing this? The monsters are all over powered, Flame Legion NPCs are spawning and instantly dieing… wtf? So much for a build up only to have another fall out like the Halloween content.

Why would a dev want to come here?
They know they’ve consistently ripped the class and nerfed it to the ground.
They know that we are not stupid and blind to this.
They know we are all very unhappy about it.
They know all other classes are far more efficient.
They know we would rip them a new back-end if they came here.
They ran away from us months ago for these very reasons. They probably won’t ever come back…
I’m far happier playing as a warrior then an elementalist. I don’t care for the warrior class, just want to be able to play the game with a character that won’t die in 1-2 hits.
That is just it dude, the Anti-Spam system is broke and just going crazy. Every time you publically chat, you risk being muted because of a technical malfunction. In other words.
There is another bloody bug in this game!

I’d hate to see the elementalist turned into all earth spamming 1,2 and 3. Though we do need more HP and a signet that immobilizes monsters like what the warrior has. I’m level 80 and basically unable to play around monsters above level 70. My warrior was able to fight level 47 stuff at level 30 and have the same survivability as my elementalist.
Though he was able to survive as I knew how to best use my skills from playing the frailmentalist. After level 47 the monsters appeared to be immune to all bleeds/afflictions and take like 1/20 of the damage they should have.
Completely Log out of the game and log back in. Your probably are not able to chat…right? Had both of those bugs at the same time a while back.
Your bottom screenshot isn’t very good, it shows your level 0 jeweler. Unless that too is bugged that you’ve lost your jeweling levels.

Been bugged since this game was in Beta. ANet is aware of it, just this game has about 25k other bugs (I’m rounding down btw ) that need to be fixed first.
This has been bugged for at least a month on the DragonBrand server. So everyone can calm down, this isn’t new.
Relog, it happend to me last night. I also had an authentication error with the Black Lion until a relog fixed it. I mean totally log out of the game and game client.
Sounds like you should contact support as something in the game might be mistaking your names for something offensive. That is what I’d do at first, would also remove any negative points you’ve been accumulating as a result of this.
I don’t want to deal with guild drama ATM and haven’t met anyone that really talked much in this game to friend-up.
Can a mod move this into the general GW2 discussion? I forgot I was in the game bugs forum

Now that the initial rush is over, we have far less people participating in random events. This makes the events much harder to complete. Between the costs of having to armor repair, teleports and time/stress involved in successfully completing them, this isn’t unfair to ask.
The same can be said about all the chests in the game as it is much harder, if possible at all, for a small party to get to it.
I’ve created a new Charr warrior that is now level 32, and basically have had to do at least half the random events by myself. Often running around with the shot gun as that seems to be the most effective. I’d like better compensation for my efforts.
Btw, the random events that involve a champion monster never get completed any more if you haven’t noticed unless the champion is in a town.

I was going to make this thread. I’ve created a new toon and thank God it is a warrior. I’ve got to pretty much solo everything now. The only group events that I see these days are bots running in a very large oval killing the same monsters over and over. I’m impressed that the bots will revive anyone that is defeated.
I guess one solution is that if there are not many people on a server, an option can pop up offering to go to an overflow server. That will put all the low levels from different servers onto one server.

Ok… so being this game is infested with bugs, where are the rest of the fixes? I hope you didn’t interrupt the game over just one bug fix, especially something as minor as that.
What server were you on? On DragonBrand server, I was able to use the cow-tapult to get on the roof. I did that before doing any meta-event. Though there is an event that harpies will attack the cows by the canon.

This bug sometimes happens when all monsters are dead, event has ended and all afflictions (bleeds, burning, poison) are gone. There is another bug where a monster will exit combat (usually becomes invulnerable) run away and fully heal while your stuck in combat. And another bug where if you enter the downed state the same time a monster dies, you won’t rally.
Thanks, I’ll try those. There is a fire one that can cause AoE damage that I think will be fun.
Why do the level maps go from 15-25 all the way to 50-60 and need to run south to get to a level 30-40 map that has all the monsters around level 37? This just doesn’t make any sense to me… The monsters on the 50-60 maps are immune to all my attacks, at first I though the boar there were bugged until I ran across more.

So for duel wielding, what should I put in the upgrade slot of my 2nd weapon?
I have a minor sigil of corruption equipped on my sword and a minor sigil of of bloodlust on my axe. While duel weilding, I’m unable to get the sigil of corruption to work. The bloodlust works fine. When using my rifle, which has a sigil of corruption, nothing happens, I still only have the sigil of bloodlust displaying with my other boons.
Can only one of these type of sigils work? Or have a stumbled onto another bug?
Are you playing an elementalist? Elementalist have a tendency to “skip” the downed state and head strait for the coffin…

Same here, but then again with GW2 we should always first assume it to be a bug then do a sanity check later.
As I just said in another post, there is a bug where we sometimes get stuck in combat for no reason. Just be glad your not playing an elementalist, we cannot swap weapons while experiencing this bug. We can only weapon swap outside of combat. It is one of the reasons my level 80 Ele is now a level 80 Mule-amentalist.
Btw, I don’t use familiars and neither profession I play has pets and I get this bug quite often. Yesterday I had this happen to me about 5 or 6 times, and I was only playing about 2 hours.

Yeh, that is whole other bug I’d like to gripe about. First we need invulnerability to be either fixed or just totally removed from the game. I’ve also had plenty of instances where even after I’ve killed the monsters, I’d be stuck in combat for no reason. For my elementalist, it requires a relog for me to weapon swap as we cannot swap weapons while in combat for them.
I run into the invulnerability bug on land several times on a daily basis, I avoid as much under water content as possible due to the invulnerability bug. It is just horrendous under water. They should just remove invulnerability until they can fix it.
There is no reason to even have invulnerability, it is just stupid.

I’ve been trying to have more of a defensive aspect on the chest and leggings and more power or condition damage for the other bits.
I’m just starting a new warrior and this thread just confuses the hell out of me. I’m trying to read the best way to build one for different situations.

I’ve suffered with playing an elementalist and tanky builds just don’t exist. Shelve the idea until ANet fixes the ele and work on other builds. I’ve got exotic tank armor for my level 80 and cannot play past a level 75 map without being KO’ed by 2v1 monsters. A 1v1 monster will take me for everything I’ve got.
I’ve been able to get my warrior to act as an elementalist with the rifle for the time being.
Legend weapons shoot rainbows? WTF? Lmao.
Maybe for a Rainbow Bright game that be acceptable or some thing regurgitated from Disney.
EnemyCrusher, ever take into consideration those that have work and a family and can’t just spend ridiculous hours playing a game?
The sooner this junk is removed from the game the better. Hopefully there won’t ever be such a frustrating “money-pit” event released like this ever again. All players, including ones that just created their first account, should be able to obtain all items within a good 4-5 hours without having farm gold prior to the event.

You know (frail)mentalist sucks when the other classes start making these complaints on our forum. Sorry about that, we can’t help that Anet nerfed us to this point.
It is impossible to tank even one monster as a (frail)mentalist. For the most part I’ve got a knight set of armor on and if I’m in Straights of Devastation can barely survive 2 monster encounters and surviving a 3 monster encounter (other then running) is just a kittening miracle.
Going past the Straights of Devastation a 2 monster encounter is just plain death. A one monster encounter is just barely survivable. I’m trying to build up to Gossimar armor but can’t afford it even though I can craft it.
Well today is my last day at playing the elementalist. I have the mule parked at Divinities Reach as of now and tomorrow, my first day off, I’ll create a Charr warrior so I can actually start enjoying this game. My ele has map completed PvE open world mostly solo; the game definitely does not end at Blood Tide.
Not saying it was easy, not comparing it to other classes; just saying it can survive/farm Orr (Half exotic/rare) and Frostgorge (Full rare).
I should add that I did all this using a staff, which popular opinion seems to indicate is not as good a solo weapon as daggers.
Well that appears to be my problem, I can’t afford exotics and have been only able to get a few rares. The problem is dieing and armor repair drain my money too quick. I guess what I’m going to honestly have to do is buy gems and sell them for gold to get anywhere with my (frail)mentalist from what your suggesting.
Defense, we are just way too weak to incoming damage.

Was on vacation for 2 weeks so am just getting back into the game. I’m reading that we got a new buff, however my (frail)mentalist is still weak as a wet paper bag and does as much damage as a bunny compared to all the other classes. I’m still unable to play a map high then level 65 as I’ll end up going broke from armor repair and telephoning when defeated.
With the exception of the dragon in Sparkfly Fen (level 55-65) it isn’t worth my time to play a map high then Blood Tide coast. Just die way too frequently on anything harder. Even on the Harathi Hinterlands map it can be difficult to make money. My goal was to get 1 gold by the end of my play time (~5 hours) from having 70 silver. I have about 90 silver.
As of now, on my next weekend off I’ll have to build a warrior just to get somewhere and funnel money into my (frail)mentalist to get the best possible armor and try that.
If there really is a buff, I’d like to know. Never been this frustrated or disgusted with a mage class before.
I'm leaving GW2 for now, and this is why it matters.

ANet has to get their head out of their A on the frailmentalist. I’m highly disappointed in how the class turned out as I’ve waited for 2 years to play GuildWars2. Was going to play the first game but didn’t want to be bothered with all the expansions. I’m planning on developing all the other classes and if a year goes by with the elementalist being a frailmentalist I’ll play GW1 until this is fixed.
I’ve already had many suggestions in-game on going to GW1 and give GW2 a year to be fixed if I really want to play an elementalist.
