Anyway, point is, you have not seen a staff guardian drag you down. Probably because you run a build that is just as… efficient as a staff guardian (AND THAT’S FINE). But when someone asks for a specific thing in an lfg, respect it, and we won’t have to complain about staff guards because we won’t see them.

I am getting the impression that no one is using staff on Ele. Being scepter the most used weapon. Is that correct? Why? Only cause better might stacking?

Staff is good for fire attunement. However scepter main hand has excellent might stacking (as you said) but even dagger main hand is a good way to go, for its air auto. Focus is a fabulous offhand, and has awesome utility you can’t get with a staff always.

How about you realize he has a different style then you’re own. If it happens to not work in your party, fair enough, tell him the reason why and move on. Telling another player their entire fighting style is useless simply because of a choice of weapon. you handle it like a person facing differing ideals and combat, you adapt it into a team strategy.
I am glad that you’re trying trying not to be some beserker obsessed jerk, but you’re following the same mentality of “I see his build as useless, so I don’t want it”. I think through he post I’ve read in the last 4 days(2 as lurker), this game is balance enough to handle any potential combination, is why I even bother playing it. the last thing you want to do is make the environment toxic by trying to call out entire weapon sets garbage.

I recommend seeking out one of the dungeon running guilds, such as Death and Taxes (DnT) if you are comfortable with trialing. DnT is the only website I know, but there are others. Dtguilds.com.

Also I recommend hopping over to the dungeon forum. Even though I am not quite good enough to join DnT, I get to run with the forumers who are members. We have a lot of fun, and it’s really nice to play with like minded people

Now what does this entail?

You must post 3 screen shots, in a dungeon, of your most fashionable light, medium, and heavy characters. They must be in 3 different dungeons (or fractals).

Yes this takes away the “grrr, MMOs are serious business” by having players in non-spiky armor. But I would be temped to by a Jayne “style” knit cap for a warrior (hint, hint).

This would make me squee. As long as it didn’t take away facial hair like some hats do. I totally make a Jayne!

Perhaps there isn’t a true black or a true white because both will wash out or cover up armor details to an undesirable amount in game, so they chose colors which are close but not exactly there.

Yeah I’d say this is likely the case. Armor detail is a lot more intricate than you’d imagine unless you have super high graphics. That’s why gem store dyes are so cool, the accentuate those details. A pure black or white probably would not texture well. I’m sure it would look good in areas on an armor piece but so much of the detail on armor can be masked by even the darkness of abyss…

Dyes I love that are yellow: flare is more yellow but: pyre is my #1. Molten can also be nice if you’re shooting for golden orange.

The cheaper dyes that might look wonderful are illumination, redemption. If you’re going for vibrant you will need to have some dark accents in your armor for better contrast. For this I recommend any midnight warm color (midnight yellow if that’s a thing)

I’d help if I could but I can’t look at that Sylvari ’ s eyes without feeling extremely uncomfortable.

I also recommend trying scepter dagger… it gives you some nice melee aoe (pbaoe) but also allows you to back up a bit. Also, dagger focus is nice as focus has a fun invulnerability in earth, a reflect in air, and some okay support spells to go with your dagger melee main hand.
