Ah, dnt and rt I see. The propogators of the zerk and stacking meta. Its really quite embarassing that you encourage this toxic type of gameplay when you could really be a voice to the devs for guild wars 2 on how they could improve these dungeons.

Because using the same stacking strategy to accomplish nearly every dungeon is fun? I get you wanna make money, I do to sometimes, but lets not pretend like there is anything challenging or fun about the way we do it.

*dying
*taking forever
*not being able to RP walk
*not making money
*kiting a boss for 10 minutes with bearbows
*unfashionable party members

See. Fun. Stacking and such fit into my idea of fun. I’m not in it for a huge stressful challenge. I’m not in a dungeon speed run guild. I play this game to have fun. Stop trying to ruin the majority of players fun because you want something that this game isn’t.

In gw2 you make your own challenges. Which is the beauty of it. You can kill bosses naked. You can do whatever you want. Stop trying to make this game that is ours into yours. God I hate you all.

Gw2 isnt inherently challenging which is why people consistently find ways to make it challenging. By soloing it, or doing it naked. Soloing some dungeons is actually quite challenging and impressive to see when done in a speedrun. There are some examples that obviously don’t count, where they bug the boss, like ive seen a player bug the spider queen in AC so she doesn’t move or attack and can just be dps’ed in the open.

The problem is that these players arn’t rewarded any differently. You take the easy way out and get rewards, they do something obviously much more difficult and get the exact same thing. Dungeons and fractals need a system that acknowledges that a player is soloing it so they can get better rewards.

It’s called getting it done quickly so you can run another path. That’s the incentive! More chances to receive a good roll on the loot table! More champ bags! More material bags!

Soloing and duoing? SELL THE SLOTS

Oh wait I’m sure you hate sellers too. Point is, rewards up the freaking wazzoo for doing something challenging.

Basically it was that they disbanded the dungeon team and put them in the LS team.

And frankly I honestly don’t care what you or anyone thinks about his encounters. The only have an exploit stopping dungeon team now. Why? Because dungeon difficulty alienates the gem spending casual player base.

And that’s why we don’t have combo field priority, for one, and also why we don’t have new dungeons. And Aetherpath proves it. They said “let’s experiment, let’s give them why they are asking for” and what is it? A bloody messy failure that people complain about and don’t run.

Normally interaction and response to a boss’s mechanics is how we typically make the skilllevel distinction in our fellow players, so logically, wouldn’t a combat philosophy based around minimizing those instances also mean it’s a poor determination of good or bad play?

You might very well have terrible players stacking, which is sort of the point of the thread.

If it makes you feel any better, during the Marionette event the PR campaign mentioned something to effect of; ‘we have some idea of where the general player skilllevel is at, and we think people have fun when they’re presented with a challenge just beyond it and have to stretch to meet it’.

Which seems pretty promising as a balance philosophy, if they’d only feel inclined to apply it to dungeons.

Developers do not ever state clearly whether something is an exploit. They fix it. That’s their statement.

When asked to comment on a fix or change they might say “the snowflake thing was an exploit players used… they are now banned.” But they don’t generally say whether something is or is not.

However I do recall a developer saying that the teleport firey rush needed to be fixed, but that they would monitor the skill for the time being, meaning at the moment its being used okay but if it causes problems theyd fix it. I think it was in a wvw thread.

I’m pretty sure a lot of the hate comes from jealousy. For instance… yesterday some various forum friends and I went through Arah p2 and got to the last boss. We were going to give the last slot away to friends or guildies, whoever got in first. I offered the slot in guild chat “anyone want to get a quick Arah 2? At last boss.” And a guildie berated me accusing me of trying to sell it.

Anyway our group killed the last boss too fast for it to matter but I think it doesn’t matter how you do Arah. If you’re able to do it quicker or with less people “haters gonna hate”.

@Fairy. The norn t2 leggings are awesome because they are a skirt. Also viper and magitech skirts are nice. And we can’t ignore the vigil and new medium leggings, though not a skirt they are quite sexy.

It’s wearing T2 right now and an arah mask; if I put it in T3 I think I’ll have to give her a total makeover, she is shockingly pale currently. I think the strider armor is pretty sweet, but I just bought the incarnate armor and it might be easier to justify my umpteenth set of cultural armor than it is to buy another gemstore set so soon.

My GS totally clashes, but I have been putting off giving this toon a makeover for months because I am so indecisive.

Get a kit. Get all gem store armors. Get all culturals. Get on my level.

Anyway, bearbows are only good for finding the lost damsel in distress and then get eaten by the dragon so that the knight can have his personal righteous revenge in addition to saving said damsel.
They are extras with a funny line here and there. Not the true heroes.

This thead really makes me wonder by engineer gets sold short so hard, they can might blast without interference from light fields, stack loads of vuln, and now deal extremely competitive DPS (around thief tier). Much better than anything a Phalanx warrior can put out, pug or not.

I guess it’s just cause no one wants to press all those buttons, I almost never see engies in any PvE format, period, and the ones I see are running something stupid.

We just all missed the amazing new trait that converted guangmath into actual game facts, namely ‘increasing engineers direct damage by 75%’.

In all seriousness, I don’t think I’ve ever not said Engie is super high DPS. The patch DOES in fact increase Engie DPS by a kittenton, since rifle burst + ascended weapon damage + double sigil + everyone else being nerfed adds up pretty significantly.

Yesterday, I opened the lfg. I wanted to do a dungeon, but nothing specific. I check all dungeons, no run interested me, then suddenly an AC run popped up: “story”, nothing more. Hey, let’s help some newbies, that’d be great.

I join. There are two people, both level 39. I say hello and get an “hello” back. So I start talking: do they wanna help in going through the dungeon from an experienced view? Or should I stay in the back only assisting them? No answer. I ask a few more questions, no answer.

Then suddenly, for no reason, I got kicked (2 minutes after joining and the party was still not full and the dungeon still had not started). What the hell!? Did they press the wrong buttons? Then the guy who replied “hello” to me whispered me: “Hey, we don’t take level 80s in this run, we want noobs like us. I hope you understand my friend, bye”. I replied that I have a lowbie char that could use some levels. Again no answer. I said that if they want newbies, they should say so in the lfg. You guessed it, no answer. So I left (and blocked them both because you don’t mess with people wanting to help).

But this whole experience was strange (the whole setup, the “my friend” yet having kicked me). Has anyone encountered this already?

let me ask a question. what’s the different between running through a bunch of mob “which can kill you”, or the bulldozer puzzle in cof path 1, or elevator in asura fractal. The thing is you can actually die from skipping. Those are just puzzle to me.

If they want to make mobs non skip-able. They need to make it like the dredge fractal, or burrow in AC. Else it is just killing pointless trash mobs.

That the point, you need upgrade the rewards of mobs on dungeons or make new achivements for killing all, or hard mode dungeon.

That’s something I find truly amazing. Most of the artists ask incredibly low (or reasonable, depending on your point of view) commission fees.
I know a skilled artist can do a reasonably well done picture in their favourite style pretty fast, but still, very impressive/nice of them.
Especially if you consider the prices some artists ask for their commissions.

One of them, Grom, asks a huge amount of gold per commission…. but he does an amazing job and in my eyes it’s like, frame able quality. I recommend checking out those threads. I lurk that forum because people often do limited time free commissions to get their name out there.

The only thing you can do is to a.) make your own group and pray to the good heavens it fills fast, b.) ANet redesign the dungeon so it’ll be worthwhile to kill trashes, c.) ANet implement a rule to make players wipe out all trashes or face ban – which is a bad policy IMO or d.) accept your fate, which I don’t think you would.
