The issue that causes this is the difference in overall pvp experience between people with similar MMR.
You can have guys that played up till rank 50+ in hotjoins who have close to no MMR since they barely played tpvp games. Even if those hotjoins arent the same as tpvp games, those guys will be more comfortable with their class than the average rank 10 for example.
(edited by Locuz.2651)
Make 5v5 the standard (play now) option, with the possibilitie to look for 8v8 games via the filter. Thats all there is to it.
(edited by Locuz.2651)
Trying to play everything. Enough to get a decent impression of a professions strenghts and weaknesses. And ive always been a decent multiclasser (read no life).
…………..Engineers. Really I am sad they intend to buff engi healing which is almost impossible to counter
“Character: Duchess Henrietta. Necromancer”
As necro you are the engineers hard counter. I literally never fought an engineer that i consistantly struggled with as necro. The only way to win for them is catching you without lifeforce as powerbuild (and interupt/launch lock you from 100-0%). If you lose anything besides that you got outplayed.
Bunker engi is just a no-skill spam build. It isnt fun to play against at all. At least a bunker guardian you can actually hit and kill eventually.
I played pretty much every single class extensively in spvp. 37% of those games where on necro….and its probably in the top 2-3 of easiest professions to be good at. While engineer is one of the harder classes, if not the hardest.
The condi damage/pressure from scepter 1 spam is comparable to the condi damage of multiple grenades or all pistol mainhand abbilities combined. So whiile engineers need to land multiple skillshots to do decent damage and apply consistent poison debuffs. As necro we can spam an autoattack that provides an almost guaranteed 100% uptime on poison. and applies an automatically stacking bleed debuff.
Necro is a lot easier to play and a lot more spammy. The only down side to necros is that they have less mobility. So they whont get away from groups of people in wvw or spvp.
I love it. I feed on tears. :P
Pretty much all trashtalking i get is from guys who got wrecked 1v1 or 2v1. So your gameplay (or profession in some cases) makes them feel so powerless that they start to get frustrated. The flames are the result of that build up frustration.
It would worry me If i stopped getting those whispers.
I had moments in games where i was defending a point solo vs 2-3 ppl. Ended up getting trashtalk from a guy that was just zerging and randomly capping/leaving points and killing people. How i had only 150 points while he had 200. And how i was the reason for that loss.
People who think the points equals the contribution to a win are just clueless. Those are the same guys who sit on closepoint with 4 untill it caps, at the start of a match.

8v8 couldn’t work without allot of support from Anet.
Anet gave no support.
The mode failed. There were reasons to choose 8v8 for SPvP.
Having a few valid reasons doesn’t mean it will succeed.
Explaining those reasons doesn’t mean I think hotjoin succeeded.
What does that even mean “gave no support”? Youre incredibly vague. Do you mean lack of development (new modes etc)?
Due to the lack of a holy trinity in this game larger scale fights become a clusterkitten, unless you run with an organized group (but this is never the case in hotjoins).
While this klusterkitten might seem enjoyable for some guys that see spvp in the same light as crabtoss (a minigame/achievement farming area). For pvpplayers who actually like to pvp this is literally a nightmare.
Dont get me wrong im not saying it is the only reason why GW2 pvp failed to deliver so far. Im just saying it might be an idea to change the standard hotjoin format in to 5v5. So that people who join pvp for the first time get thrown in to 5v5 first.
(edited by Locuz.2651)
But people do… because they find it fun….
You mightve missed it but pvp in this game flopped a bit. Especially if you compare the numbers of people playing it to the total population.
This is partially since the “entrance games” are not that enjoyable. due to the zerginess in 8v8. So less people will play it and quite a few will even quit this game due to it.
Literally every single person i spoke to who never spvps gives this as their main reason. So ye its their opnion but if i keep hearing that same reason over and over again…
So my suggestion is to make 5v5 the standard filter option..
(edited by Locuz.2651)
Uhm, being with more teammates is better when learning a class than with less.
You learn a different playstyle, sure, but you also learn your class more easily.
In small fights the focus is entirely on you, in larger there is much more leeway to miss a skill or even get downed… because you have 3~ allies nearby.
Thats the entire point. You can do “well” in 8v8 by just using autoattack. No need to play your class well in zergy playmodes. So its probably better to practice your pvpgame by fighting random PvE mobs over fighting in zergs.
We started playing GW2 pvp with about 30ish of my old pvp guild from wow. All of them hardcore pvpers and pvp veterans who pvped hardcore in multiple MMOs. And pretty much all of them quit since their first impression off GW2 pvp was “a clusterkitten”.
There are a few reasons why GW2 pvp flopped. This is one of them imo.
(edited by Locuz.2651)
This is something that bothered me since beta tbh. Why did they ever introduce 8v8 instead of keeping conquest 5v5 only?
Tbh i only see downsides.
- new players who try to learn their class struggle. They either get zerged or zerg someone else. In both cases its unclear if their play made the difference. And in both cases they learn close to nothing from it.
- Veterans get annoyed since despite playing good they might end up losing due to being vastly outnumbered.
- 8v8 promotes a very blob like playstyle where properly defending and pushing points is discouraged. Just autoattack and stay in the group of 5+.
Can someone fill me in on any pros?
I understand that you can pick 5v5 servers or go tpvp. But esp for guys that try GW2 for the first time this will be a problem. Their first impression of pvp in this game will be 8v8 conquest (really depressing if you think about it).
I recall hearing early on from Anet that Mesmers & Necros would be the hardest classes. I can’t comment on Mesmers as I haven’t made one yet, but I have played a Necro & it seems to be significantly more difficult to play Engineer (but a lot more fun too).
Indeed its A LOT harder to play engineer than it is to play necro or anything else in this game tbh. When im on my old necro main i literally steamroll kids with little to no effort. Engineer actually makes you work for you kills.
The players from Abbadons Mouth see me, the allmight Valevor, as a really big threath. Seeing how an entire blob chased me across the map …and even far in to the water.
Very persistent i must say
I hope so to Locuz that will be a day to remeber.

Mind that it doesnt show pvp yet since he is solo on the map. You can check the layout and looks tho. Looks great doesnt it?
(edited by Locuz.2651)
I cant imagine how there can be such a high wait time i have played hundreds of games and not a single one have this wait time.
I regret that i bought this game.
The queue is due to the immense popularity of wvw. The maps have a player cap of 500 players and full is full.
They are currently working on an overflowmap called edge of the mist. Once they release that the queuetimes will be gone.
Wow good posts. I agree 100% with OE.
The only way to fix this in my eyes is by buffing, adding or changing other traits to make them viable impactfull alternatives. Nerf IP and keep it in that traitline while buffing dmg in other areas is what i would do.
First off don’t get hating. Just a simple question. I know people have fun doing whatever they do, either WvW, SPvP, PvE, Farming or whatever makes you happy. Is it still fun? I am not talking about “Oh god they have made this unplayable because i get less loot or they changed 1 trait” but from the idea of what you are doing. WvWer’s are you taking keeps and towers, fighting on a massive scale with siege, or PvEer’s are there nice looking maps with lots of events, champ trains, and playable (maybe hard) dungeons?
TL;DR Are you guys having remotely any fun anymore as per what games were designed for? I know I can still have fun playing (although some things I might not agree with). How about for others?
A few interesting points in your post.
What makes it enjoyable for me personally is that i dont put myself in a certain category. Where in traditional MMOs you had raiders, arenaplayers etc. Guys who would do that type of very specific content 90% the time. If you do that in GW2 you will get burned out or bored eventually.
This game is at its best if you try to avoid that and experience a bit of everything. If you do that youll find that this game offers a more diverse and richer experience than any other MMO on the market atm.
With that said. Its quite easy to be negative about MMOs. Most people tend to tunnelvision something that really annoys them without looking at the bigger picture. And thats something that can spoil your fun.
For example: I know guys that where worshipping GW2 one day. Yet they stopped one week later since class A in pvp annoyed them so much that it made the game unplayable for them all of a sudden (and yes this really happened).
(edited by Locuz.2651)
Its quite sad how the MMO state of mind has evolved in to:
We do whatever gives the most rewards/is the most efficient farming method.
Even if that means:
- We have to repeat the same content over and over.
- That content isnt the most enjoyable content in the game.
Are these bots?
People use their timers and jump from 1 major event to the other. Ignoring the rest of the content in the zone.
(edited by Locuz.2651)
What do you mean? Thats its annoying to use?
Nah, I mean it can’t fix what isn’t there.
Shading is always a very complex issue. You can’t just pull a couple “brightness” or “contrast” sliders to make your game look good, but that’s all you’re stuck with in post-processing (which is what SweetFX does). You need to take the right approach to the entire scene first, which isn’t something a bit of contrast will fix later on.
That’s why Celestial and Abyss are the costliest dyes on the market, too. All colors other than black and white often blend into indiscernible mush.
Its not really just the brightness and contrast. The tool has a lot of shader specific options. If you didnt use proper settings it will still look gloomy/mushy as you described.
Just look at my screenshot and tell me if that doesnt look sharp to you? And unlike your screenshots, this is an original untouched screenshot. I can give you the exact settings in game. Doesnt hurt to try right?
Lets leave the rest of this thread for people showing their chars :P
(edited by Locuz.2651)
Yep, doesn’t really fix the problem though. You can straight up the contrast and saturation, but that’ll just be a strain on the nerves.
Shame for a game with such colourful concept art to end up looking so murky.
What do you mean? Thats its annoying to use? And did you use a certain preset for sweetfx or did you tweak yourself? As you can see on my screenshot it looks really sharp and without the overly gloomy layer on top of it.
And my PC is quite meh tbh (AMD Athlon II X4 635 + a 7850).
There is an alternative i saw someone mention in another thread:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/What-a-Beautiful-World-It-Is/first#post3178920
Sure, why not.
Images retouched a bit. The lack of proper shading in this game is disappointing, colours are almost always drained to blight. Bah, I say.
You tried using Sweetfx yet? Dont have a monster PC, this tool just makes my game look a lot better with the right settings.
My loveley warrior alt (sweetfx preset dark V2).
(edited by Locuz.2651)
Amazing topic. Loving the pics. Ill try to put in some effort and get some good ones of my own
Sweet FX has come a long way to where you do not need to tweak any code/make changes in text files to get results and I believe it now has a GUI, though I still see many having issues with it running right/at all or finding it difficult to get the results they desire.
Most guys i talked to use specific presets (Dark V2 in most cases) and finetune a bit from there. I agree that it could be a bit more userfriendly. But once you have the settings right it doesnt require any extra thought anyways.
I do think that a tool like this (or what youre using) greatly enhances the looks of this game. So its almost a must imo.
(edited by Locuz.2651)
But the topic is about why people stop playing.
If you say you play for the sake of playing, good for you. The people who left probably had a bit higher expectations, so it’s their own fault after all.
My post was about questioning the entire mindset.
Imagine that an MMO launches in the near future. That MMO will have the most amazing instances and pvp ever released in any MMO. But the most effcient way to get currency and pvp gear is by doing the most boring and grindy content you can imagine (think wow archeology).
You would literally stop that game because you ignore all the cool stuff and go straight for the efficient content? (Which you end up hating because it sucks).
Its such a weird way of thinking, thats all im saying.
And if i had to give my own two reasons:
- If something better comes along.
- If i stop enjoying myself.
(edited by Locuz.2651)
I saw Ostrich Eggs get 5 precursers during 1 streaming session (and throw the 800 gold he made from that straight back in to the mystic toilet). So there are others with a lot of luck.
My asura engineer .
It is not efficient. It is not profitable.
Might sound weird but i dont care about “efficient and profitable” when playing a game.
This reminds me a bit of a thing that happened to me in wow. Ive been a hardcore pvper for ages and been a part of some of the best pvp guilds in EU. You would think that these players would love to pvp right?
One evening i was still doing some random battlegrounds when a guy in guildchat asked me “why are you doing random battlegrounds, arent you fully geared allready”
My answer: because i love to pvp. I simply love to pvp for the sake of pvp. Nothing more nothing less.
The same applies to your statement. I play this game to play this game….not because of potential rewards.
(edited by Locuz.2651)
I would play a male human character if the customization allowed me to create a gritty grim looking dude.
(edited by Locuz.2651)
do you get it?
I dont think he does to be honest. This is game is ideal if youre a casual, as long as youre you’re content with the long and scenic route. You dont need to be full ascended/BiS to enjoy this game as a casual.
Play w/e you enjoy playing instead of trying to be efficient.
Join a friendly guild and exprience all content at a supercasual pace without the need for full zerker gear or to play optimal specs.
I never played in full zerkergear and i never had issues to get in to groups or people never complained how poorly i did.
(edited by Locuz.2651)
Guys keep in mind that this is an open discussion thread about these changes and not the final version. With that in mind its better to aim your feedback at the OP…instead of at eachother.
Even if you dont agree with the guy above you, its very unlikely that that person will change his/her opinion if you try to torch his/her ideas.
Try to make a constructive post of your own with your personal views on the subject.
(edited by Locuz.2651)
Most people stop because they tunnelvision the negatives, which causes them to overlook the positives. A bit like how people have things in relationships that really annoy them, up till a point that it becomes unbearable.
Untill that moment in the future when they start to overthink the entire situation and realize it wasnt that bad (mind that some people arent capable of doing this).
A lot of people play 1 profession. If that happens to be one of the relatively shallow profs i can understand why the game is boring to you. I had the same while playing my first main, my ranger.
So i stopped for a bit, came back and started playing engineer. Which in my eyes offers the most enjoyable and diverse combat ive ever experienced in any MMO.
So it might (or might not) be related to your profession.
Quite a few of my friends stopped since they missed the vertical gear progression system. Which is understandable if you are used to such a system. To quote myself from a post i made on the wow forums:
“Thats whats “lacking” in GW2s incentives system for example. You have 100’s of bad .ss looking skins…but it means nothing to a relatively big group of players since people are so used to gaining power (without actually gaining power relatively) that those skins are deemed useless/superficial."
Or an Earlier post:
“Its a psychological thing; people want to feel as if their characters are growing in strength.
Meanwhile everything stays the same relatively."
(edited by Locuz.2651)
Too many ugly hoods and face stickers T_T
Or what about those overused “carnaval masks”. I really hope they stop making headpieces like that.
Below my lovely alt warrior. Love the heavy sets more than anything else tbh.
100-150 euros if i remember correctly. I tend to buy some gems whenever they release something that i enjoyed (like the new TA path for example).
Aaaand lets end our discussion at this post please. You just stated that you have a bigger…. ego, and therefore all who disagree with you are wrong. I get it, I know it. I really do. Have a good day Sir. No more replies from me in this sub-exchange. EOT.
It has nothing to do with a big ego. It has everything to do with making analytical statements for a living for 15 years. While you kept insisting that my statements where personal opinions.
Guess what… they arent.
If they where it would mean i would have a really hard time doing my job. Since thats exactly what im meant to be doing; ignoring my personal opinions and analysing market trends.
Most of the statements i made arent even related to me. I personally dont care about the journey or character specific progress. I am a pvp player that pvps for the sake of pvp. Yet i mention it as one of the main reasons why people logg in to an MMO.
(edited by Locuz.2651)
I agree. And that is exactly what I stated before. That opinions like this are subjective and you need to look at the big picture and sacrifice something. Listing things that you dont like in a game does not pass a judgment on why the game is loosing players or anything.
I do this for a living. I am a market analyst (sales manager) in the entertainment industry. The majority of my statements are based on the bigger picture. Thats the only way im capable of thinking.
Think about it like this; why do you logg in to an MMO? Most of the times its for two reasons:
- The journey
- The social aspect. If new systems and mechanics tamper with these two (and they did) it is bad for an MMO. It doesnt take a brain surgeon to figure that out.
^ An obvious example.
Why so? MMO is the type of games I prefer the most. I like new shiny MMOs. I played Anarchy Online, Star Wars Galaxies, WoW, GW1, Age of Conan, Final Fantasy XI, EvE Online, Tabula Rasa, Aion, Rift, Star Wars Old Republic, The Secret World, GW2. Perhaps briefly some more. The only ones that caught my attention for longer were WoW (6 years+), GW1 (on and off for several years), EvE Online (actually I am still subbed to it, all the time since 2006) and now GW2. Some are better from others. All of them get old at some point. None is perfect.
My question: why do you play MMOs?
Your answer: I play them because they are new and shiny.
Me: Well you might aswell play BF4, thats new and shiny. What are your real reasons?
You: Why so? MMOs are the type of games i prefer the most. I play MMOs X Y Z.
(edited by Locuz.2651)
1st example. After playing GW2 and then trying Pandas for a brief time I simply could not bare it anymore. The combat feels stiff, the animations are simplistic, quality of character models is atrocious.
Mind that we are talking about the public opinion and not about the specific reasoning of a single person.
And it depends a bit on your setup and wether you use sweetfx or not. Playing GW2 on low settings make the game look worse than wow on any setting. The game heavily relies on the quality of its textures to create depth etc.
Also I really dont like the carrot on the stick gear threadmill model
While i dont like the idea behind it, it works for the masses and even for me in some cases.
But in my case, I play GW2 (and quite hardcore) becouse the game is newer and more shiny.
The funny thing is that in none of your posts you mention why you actually play this game, or MMOs in general. If it was due to them being shiny and new MMOs wouldnt be for you. You would play something like BF4 now.
(edited by Locuz.2651)
They have problems with players retention becouse the game is 10 years old and there are new cool kids on the block. Its a miracle WoW is going decent after all this time. Frankly I am not sure GW2 will be in such good shape in 2020 (and dont mistake me for WoW fanboy, I left WoW in 2010 and I am a GW2 player).
PS. WoW didnt lost 40% of players becouse of Pandas. Their numbers are in decline ever since WotLK.
No way. The game couldve been doing better than ever right now, if they took the right turns. Age literally has nothing to do with it untill that moment that systems improve so drastically that the entire way a game is played changes.
And it hasnt. Mechanics wise its still superiour to the majority of triple A MMOs that are brought on the market. Once that changes …
Tell me; What is the difference between your sense of enjoyment while playing a 5 year old game (when wow was it its peak subwise) or an 8 year old game. There is literally no difference.
If the game is good, people will play it.
And did i say anything about pandas having an effect on wows popularity?
(edited by Locuz.2651)
Thats just a random list of problems a game has.
No. Those are some of the crucial problems that occured due to direction of specific expansions.
Think about it like this; why do you logg in to an MMO? Most of the time its for two reasons:
- The journey
- The social aspect.
If new systems and mechanics tamper with these two (and they did) it is bad for an MMO. It doesnt take a brain surgeon to figure that out.
And while Anet can make adjustments relatively fast, Blizzard has to wait for the next expansion.
And to be fair I feel envy towards WoW players. Becouse of the feeling they will get in anticipation of this new expansion and those moments when they will start to play it and discover new things. A feeling that none of those spam Living World releases can provide me. I would trade a hundred of LW patches for one big expansion. But well, thats my opinion. Some will agree, some will not.
And what if you and a big part of the community doesnt like it? Youll be stuck with it for 2 years. And the developer will lose a big part of its player base due to that (wow lost like 40% of its playerbase since the start of the current expansion).
(edited by Locuz.2651)
Seeing how wow expansions made wow progressingly less enjoyable, i think its safe to say im quite happy with the way Anet releases content.
The grass seems greener on the other side….but trust me it isnt.
Its a matter of opinion. Not a fact. For me personally expansion model is better. I loved GW1 expasions (or if someone prefers to call them, standalone games). IMO expansions didnt made WoW less enjoyable. The game simply was getting older with each year. GW2 will also get old and for that reason alone people will abandon it over time. I believe that keeping the game fresh forever is simply impossible.
Thats the common super vague excuse.
A few of the actual reasons out of the top of my head:
- New systems and mechanics that destroy the need for a server community.
- Shortening the journey.
- Killing immersion by adding flying mounts.
- Powercreep in pvp, ruining the flow of combat. (instant spamfest + 7-8 interupts on a single class).
- Not enough effort being put in to getting rid of botters spammers and cheaters (they used to take care of these untill they started their cost efficient approach).
Seeing how wow expansions made wow progressingly less enjoyable, i think its safe to say im quite happy with the way Anet releases content.
The grass seems greener on the other side….but trust me it isnt.
Look, I can tell you exactly where you’re going wrong in the video (I’ll even be 100% constructive).
Hopefully being more constructive will show you what you’re missing so that you can see where the Warrior excels too much for the effort put in.
I see a really mediocre warrior in terms of timing and lining up his burst. You obviously lack a lot of exp, which isnt a horrible thing as a relatively new pvper (i saw rank 18 right?). It just means you are relatively unaware off the potential of warrior gameplay.
You cant talk something that is wrong in to something that is right. There is a reason why every single top player in this game states warrior is over the top atm.
I told you before. Warriors main strenght is that its good at pretty much everything, while having relatively few weaknesses.
(edited by Locuz.2651)
I’m aware, but I prefer opening with an Earthshaker rather than Bull’s Charge. It’s got mobility and acts as a knockdown, but there such a thing as too offensive. What makes Warriors something to complain about is that they slot defensively. They slot two stability’s and Berserker Stance (or in my case Endure Pain, a Stability, and Berserker Stance) and it becomes harder to prevent them from doing what they want to do.
Bull’s Charge offers no effect outside of the rushing and the knockdown, and while that’s great offensively and to possibly escape a fight, it’s doing you do good immobilized. Even slowed down it’s far less effective. It certainly won’t help if you’re stunned.
Endure Pain only grants 5 seconds traited. One minute is FAR from a short CD, that generally means you only get to use it once per fight. GW2 doesn’t have 15 minutes fights, someone goes down or runs within two minutes in most cases. The most anyone would get to use those skills is likely 3-4 times in one team fight.
Warrior and Necro share the same level of HP. As for the strongest heal, that’s debatable. Different heals have different abilities that makes them good under certain conditions.
And thats exactly why you are struggling as warrior. Youre not landing CC chains. I watched the video you uploaded last week: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zrfvEMGo7Vs&feature=c4-overview&list=UUemuZJXBIqyvL9_mAwDO4yw
Shows exactly that youre just not that aware yet how to play warrior at its full potential. Dont get me wrong, im not either. But i know for a fact that im doing a lot better then you are in skirmishes like that. Most CCs where used randomly, while warriors are about landing that wombocombo that 100-0s people.
What i saw for example is how you tried to get an immob + longbows f1. Problem with is that youre using your adrenaline that you could be using to land a proper hammer F1 in to hammer 5 in to hammer 4 in to bullrush + hammer 2 and 3 while he is knocked down for example.
Getting killed in cc chains like that is what people complain about. In CC chains like this : http://www.twitch.tv/ostricheggs/c/3063182
The only time i am using the LB F1 is:
- when ppl are fighting on point (and i know for fact that ill hit them)
- just before berserker rage as adrenaline dump
- When i know for a fact i whont go in melee range anytime soon. Like when im shooting from a ledge or w/e.
but there such a thing as too offensive. What makes Warriors something to complain about is that they slot defensively. .
The best defense is a proper offense. He whont be doing any damage if he gets interupted + knocked down for those 2 extra seconds. And if you get him low during that CC chain he will play defensively himselve.
On top of that…i had plenty of moments where i could disengage and effectively avoiding my death due to bullscharge (followed by a reset + reengage). Balanced stance is nice but doesnt create distance insantly like bullscharge does.
How is that not defensive.
(edited by Locuz.2651)
With Bull Charge the Warrior has to sacrifice a defensive utility for mobility, and mobility just for mobility’s sake isn’t my idea of a good build.
You do realize bulls charge knocks people down for 2 seconds? Which synchronizes perfectly in a CC chain…which is one of the main reasons im taking it. (are you telling me youre not linking CCs?)
So its not just the mobility.
And sacrificing is a big word when you have multiple short CD immunities like endure pain or berserker stance in case youre in really big trouble. A 10 sec window (traited) where you take 0 dmg from condis every minite on top of for example endure pain that gives 6 sec direct dmg immunity.
And thats on top of the mitigation due to control. People whont touch you when they are getting tossed around with our hammer.
And even if some damage gets through. Warriors have the best HPS in the game atm, with one exception: the necro casted heal when he has a full line of condis on him. The rest is all a lot of weaker….and needs to be casted in most cases.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Any would be welcome.
Play all other classes extensively in spvp. I can assure you that if you did youd realize how over the top warriors are atm. You’d wish that you never made this thread tbh.
Dont get me wrong…they arent gods and they can die. But its incredibly easy to be succesfull while playing warrior “if compared to other profs”. And thats the most important thing:
- How is my burst compared to other classes
- How is my sustained
- How is my survivibility.
- How is my mobility
- How is my control
And when you look at those you have to keep in mind that for specific things to be strong, a class usually has to sacrifice in other areas.
And thats the problem with warriors atm (that they dont have to make those sacrifices). If i play hammer longbow on warrior….the only thing that isnt top tier is the mobility. And the mobility is still above average, esp if you use bullcharge like i do. In all other categories they are top of the line.
(edited by Locuz.2651)
Thats not how wows rating system works (or ever worked for that matter). And i played extensively & at top rating during all arena seasons besides this one, so i should know*
Pre 5.4 (the current patch) you could create 1 team per bracket in wow. But you couldnt play with others that wherent in that team, unless it was in other bracket ofc.
As people stated before; this isnt the way to proof that something is OP or not. I could make a random video aswell with me playing on any other profession, showing all my deaths and stating after every death that that specific profession is really weak.
Seeing how OP is a relative term. The only opinion i trust in this matter is the opinion of quality non biased multiclassers, who play a wide variety of classes.
People who are honest enough to confess that their own class is too strong in certain areas. While pretty much everyone will state they are NOT biased, only very few MMO players are able to do that.
Someone like Ostricheggs for example to name a relatively well known example. (eventhough he would probably say he is biased). A guy that played every single profession at least a 200-300 tpvp games.
If you ask for my personal opinion. I had my first series of spvp matches as warrior tonight. It was far to easy for something that i never played before… 1v2ing multiple times every single match. But than again, i might be a very talented warrior. Who knows
(edited by Locuz.2651)
Gandara has piles of people all milling about and wondering off doing their own stuff, no idea where you got the idea that there are no solo roamers- although we have so many aimless wonderers maybe you mistook them for groups.
Just attack one of them- most of the others won’t even notice and you’re pretty much guaranteed an easy kill.
Personally I’m hoping I get to play in prime time before the match up is over.
I havent met any so far and i played about about 10ish hours per day (and tried all borderlands). The solo players i saw where on their way to their blob and would just run if i attacked
Bit boring.
The roamers usually have the same guildtag and roam with 5-7 sometimes mixed with 2-3 non guildies. So youre saying all of them are random despite that they stick together and have the same guildtag?
Yes plenty of enjoyable fights including some nice 3 way fights over keeps etc. Its mostly about the bigger groups tho.
A bit annoying as solo roamer maybe seeing how both gandara and FSP dont have soloroamers really. If they had a few it would be perfect
This was a thread about instant damage that has little counterplay. It was about single examples of attacks that hit hard OR have a high impact and have relatively little counterplay to it.
Almost every class has abbilities like this. So if i mentioned those….does that mean that i struggle with everything?
Judging by your lack of experience with dealing with Thieves and your unfounded beliefs in regards to their abilities, I would say that yes, I have more PvP experience than you. I don’t need to be a top 10 PvP player to draw the personal conclusion that you are too inexperienced to make valid arguments against the TTK in this game.
The story is about the first hit and how you cant avoid that if he sneaks up to you with stealth. Even the best player in the world cant avoid that if he doesnt know that that player is inc. Stop being stupid.
It has nothing to do with experience.
As for situational awareness, I don’t believe that I need to make a video. When you’re fighting someone, look around every now and then to make sure that they don’t have any reinforcements coming in. This is important whether you’re in a small skirmish in WvW, a zerg fight in WvW, or a small skirmish on a point in PvP. It’s something that you probably already do without even thinking about it. If you’re not doing it, then you’re tunnelling, and that’s bad in ANY PvP game from CS to DOTA2.
I played pvp games for like 15 years mostly at a high level. I never had any issues to get high rated and i never had any issues with my awareness. Just to name a random example: i have 7+ classes at 2200-2600 in wow including about 2 million honour kills spread across my characters. I played aom before that in the top 10 worldwide and played in the GGL for cash to name another example.
I doubt you have the same experience, but please enlighten me.

You’re acting like an 8 year old, well done.
Im taking things out of context like you did in my thread you mean? The offer still stands though. If you need help with your issues in pvp. I wouldnt mind helping you at all.
