So will there be an actual limit on, say, how much karma can be stored in this wallet?

I have never held over 999,999 karma on a single character so not sure if the current backpack physically has enough digits to exceed that number. But if the wallet cannot hold more than 999,999 karma I might see some of the karma on alts go to waste if it is all automatically siphened to the wallet on 6th August.

I wouldn’t like to see it changed in any way.

Took me many, many tries and got me extremely frustrated… but I persevered and it is one of the few jumping puzzles in the game that I felt an actual sense of achievement when the Achievement popped up on the right of my screen.

If anything, more jumping puzzles need to be as difficult as this one was to begin with.

get to 15k ap and they’ll start talking about boots, chests, and leggings.

Is that something they have said?

According to the wiki, at 12k, 15k and 18k you are just given the option to choose from the Radiant/Hellfire gloves/shoulders/helmet again which is exactly the kind of laziness I am talking about

I would love to be able to complete a full Hellfire set with a glove/leg/chest option, and the title aside, there is not currently any visual reward for reaching these high levels of achievement points that a player couldn’t have already earnt between 1-9k AP.

More variety for event reward skins

Lodovicus.1562

I am aware that the game as a whole needs more armour sets and designs, but specifically with the event rewards I am getting a little bit bored with the usual selection of either shoulders, gloves, head and back pieces.

Don’t get me wrong, the majority of the time they look pretty awesome and I have found a use for them with one alt or another.

However, I think it is about time they started introducing chest, leg and boot rewards to mix and match with the event skins we may already be using rather than force us to choose to replace with yet another helmet etc that has the same skin for all armour types.

I realise that there is more work involved with creating these items for all three armour types, which would need to be done so that people can spot at a glance what armour/profession an enemy is in pvp/wvw, but a constant stream of items that only fit in the same armour slot is beginning to feel a bit lazy on the design team’s front.

I am trying to kill two birds with one stone unlocking the ranger tips and some norn personal story achievements, but as of yet I have been unable to unlock that hint using the above method.

Was wondering if it was because I am only level 6 and the hint doesn’t kick in until a higher level?

[EDIT] Got it to work! Think i was being a bit hasty hitting F4 when the pet health bar started regenerating. Have to wait for the hint to actually pop up, so hovered the cursor over the petswap icon and got the hint when it appeared. [/EDIT]

However, this needed to be done before they were released.

I specifically chose Hellfire over Radiant because I could not change the colour of the Radiant glow, so I would be mightily unimpressed if they retrospectively decided to make Radiant armour dyeable when I’ve already chosen the Hellfire gauntlets.

They are Endless tonics, so best case scenario is that the transformations would also become endless, with players being able to change back to new/normal form at their discretion, rather than just being infinite uses.

Most of the endless tonics require quite a substantial time or monetary investment so any improvement to transformation duration would definitely make them a more appealing prospect.

I personally don’t think they should return to the store, and should remain a testament for those that were playing the game when it was available.

That said, I do think they should continue to release more infinite tools in the future with different skins and particle effects related to whatever Living Story or special event is taking place at the time.

That way more people would be tempted to buy them just to complete the whole set, for alts perhaps, even if they already have a different infinite pick/sickle/axe.

Alternatively, add infinite tools permanently to the BLTC that have the same skin as normal tools just infinite uses. Then leave tools with special skins to special events for a higher gem cost.

in Suggestions

Lodovicus.1562

As much as I enjoy the Endless tonics, I can’t help but think they would be a lot more appealing and user friendly if they removed the timer on the transformations to make them truly endless. Leaving it instead to the discretion of the player to decide when they want to return to normal or try for another random form.

Currently it is a bit of a nuisance when you find a form you like from the random options, then knowing that it will wear off in 5 minutes and you will have to cycle through the random forms again.

I can’t think of any negative effects this would have with regards to sPvP or WvW (can they even be used in these areas? – not tried myself), and I think it would be a change that most Endless tonic users would welcome.

I am wondering if it was possible to transform into, say, a housecat and stay in that transformation indefinitely without it wearing off. Or is there a 5 minute timer on it and I would have to cycle through the tonic again to gain the same housecat skin?

Aaaanyways, I have a feeling that they won’t be making the infinite use harvesting tools acccount bound. They were very popular items, making Anet a stack of cash especially if people bought more than one for their alts.

It doesn’t take much to add new skins and particle effects to these tools, so I can foresee them releasing similar soulbound variants in the future to encourage people to collect them all or to deck out their alts.

I agree with the OP whole-heartedly, and can’t help but feel that Anet dug a very large grave for themselves to lie in with the complete lack of town clothes available to buy at launch.

Had they invested a decent chunk of time in the design stage coming up with 50+ different types of boot, trousers, chest, hats, gloves etc ready for launch, then I’m willing to bet that the majority of the player base would have paid good money to customise their look mixing and matching and buying one of each.

Nine months down the line, with the bean counters deciding where to invest the money, the sad reality is that these daft novelty items are going to be preferrable to generate a quick buck rather than investing resources dribbling out not wildly exciting but sensible ranges of town clothes.

When a big chunk of the only available town clothes are these cutesy, gimmicky items, then they stop becoming a novelty. They are just irritating.

Yes but if you trait into that, chances are that you either get less defense, or less atk. If you don’t trait into shouts, you have very little condition removal options.

Well yeah, welcome to GW2. Warriors do have condition removal available to them, sure not as much as other classes but its there, and if you want to go down that route you have to do so at the expense of other traits and utilities.

I don’t know what it is about warriors, probably months spent zerking in CoF, but they seem to have a bit of a one-track mind when it comes to their spec and seem to feel entitled to churn out the same numbers in WvW/PvP and then complain that they die when someone sneezes at them.

I am not totally against buffing this trait, I play a warrior myself so shouldn’t really be objecting, but I still think it would leave serious implications in terms of balance. The best thing that most classes can do when faced against a warrior is keep them at a distance, I think adding condition removal as an aside to already useful utilities might be a step too far.

Lodovicus.1562

Please would you consider left aligning buffs/conditions on enemy healthbars so that they remain in one place and are added to or removed as and when they are applied or wear off.

As it currently stands with them being centrally aligned, it is nigh on impossible to hover over the icons and read the descriptions in the tooltips in the fraction of a second you get before a new condition is applied or wears off and shifts the position of the icon.

It is not a huge concern as the majority of the icons are self-explanatory, but on bosses (especially when fighting them for the first time) it would be useful to be able to read some of their specific buffs and mechanics.

I’m with the other poster. Through laziness I quite often run around with damaged armour until one piece is on the verge of breaking because it has no bearing on my stats.

The majority of the time I suffer damaged armour is because of failings of others in the group I am in. Personally would not like a visual reminder of their shortcomings. There is already a visual reminder when armour pieces disappear when they are broken.

Lodovicus.1562

If I were a gambling man, I’d be willing to bet that the Molten Alliance Pick (or at least a variation thereof) will return in future content.

The infinite use gathering tools seem pretty easy to implement, just requiring a new skin and some effect that they can borrow from those already existing in the game. It was a pretty shrewd move by Anet to make the tools soulbound, so even if you already bought the Molten Alliance pick, chances are a lot of people would be willing to buy another similar mining pick for another of their characters.

Personally I would not like to see the actual Molten variety return. It is a shame if you missed the event, but it should exist as a kind of one-off commemoration to those that were around during this one-off content. If the Molten Alliance story continues again in some form then sure stick it back on the store, otherwise I think a pick with another theme should be introduced.

Who knows, perhaps aside from all the themed infinite tools, they may introduce generic variations with the same skin as normal tools but infinite uses that are available all year round.

Either way, we’re due for an infinite axe next. Fingers crossed it is a chainsaw as someone suggested in another thread!

You don’t need heaps of gold in this game to enjoy it to its full potential.

If there was no tofu on the table when I arrived, I would be a little annoyed if I had to pay some money towards tofu for the one vegetarian that turned up late.

To be honest I am not fundamentally against any new race being implemented in the game. Quaggan aren’t in the game now, and to create any new race will take a lot of time and money away from other projects within the game.

This is fine, but given the choice I’d prefer other races. Perhaps I am motivated more by the fact I play on the unofficial roleplay server. The prospect of hundreds of Quaggan roleplayers running around trying to be cute with their cooing and fooing is enough to make me book a ticket to Orlando just so I can punch a dolphin at Sea World.

To what end?

GW2 is already friendly to casual players in that it doesn’t take a lot of effort to obtain the top end gear in this game even with a few hours a week.

Players that spend hours a day in the game grinding and finding loot will earn more gold than players that can barely play, and so they should.

Players that spend hours a day in the game will have their Legendaries quicker, and so they should. As it stands Legendaries offer no advantage over any other exotic that can be easily obtained by casual players.

Sounds like another suggestion from a player wanting their cake and eating it too. Some things in this game you will have more of the more hours you spend playing e.g. gold. Huge piles of gold are not necessary to compete with others or to enjoy all the content in GW2.

Of all the possible small playable races, Quaggan would be my last choice behind Skritt, Grawl and Hylek.

They are the poster-boys for all the cutesy stuff that makes its way into GW2, and would make the average Pokemon player throw up in their own mouths. They are a pretty passive race, and by all rights should be extinct by now.

If they were implemented as a playable race, I doubt that their rage mechanic would be implemented any other way other than an Elite skill. All of the current races are pretty identical apart from their racial Elites, and I think an extra racial mechanic like the necromancer ability would be tricky to pull off from a balance point of view.

Perhaps their rage could be a purely cosmetic thing, with their appearance changing when they are in and out of combat?

Destroyer weapons offer no advantage or steps forward from any other exotic weapon you can craft or buy from a dungeon.

If you want the Destroyer weapon for a style, that is tough luck unless you are prepared to put in the hours to farm the materials or earn the gold to buy them. I don’t see how not having this skin disadvantages you.

You want it, but you don’t need it to have it. Get another exotic that doesn’t require any time or effort.

Also, make it an character-specific option, not an emote.

They have a system of emotes in Lord of the Rings Online that allowed your character to show different emotions with their face, /mood_angry, /mood_happy, /mood_mischievous, etc.

I think that could work quite well in GW2 also, especially considering how a character’s face can already change with existing emotes like /threaten and some of their facial expressions during the dialogue scenes.

That being said, if these kind of emotes were ever put into the game I’d like them to couple it with the ability to zoom into first-person on my character to save me running behind players, hanging upside down, or any other tricks to try to see player faces.

Probably not feasible in a game like GW2 (unless they went down the LOTRO route) but areas of player housing would be grand where you could buy a plot land and design your house from the floor upwards customising walls, rooms and crafting furniture to add inside and out and about in the game world like Ultima Online.

I think the only way they could introduce the RP tag is if they created a new server. It would be grossly unfair to all of the non-RPers on Piken Square if they suddenly stuck the tag on because the EU rp community decided to make it their home at launch.

I am a roleplayer, and as much as I love my fellow roleplayers I am afraid to say that I think roleplayers have the capacity to be some of the most unpleasant people in MMORPGs. I am speaking specifically about those that take it upon themselves to police others, sacrificing their own enjoyment and that of those around them by trying to brow-beat those that are new to RP or had the misfortune of stumbling upon an [RP] server without fully realising what it entailed.

I am happy to go on without an RP tag in GW2.

Its a nice idea. Got to admit I was a little disappointed in Anet’s claim that the zones were dynamic and character actions had a lasting impact on the terrain, which in most cases just means an event chain progressing one way or another with a quest to reset it at the end so you can rinse/repeat.

Would take a lot of work but anything like this to make a zone feel more dynamic and physically different depending on the time of day you are there is a good thing imo.

I can already imagine a tunnel network full of krait that is only accessible at high tide when they are waterlogged and you can swim down to them \o/ And we all remember the rising water level in the Mad King’s Clocktower, that was fun right? Right?
