You have +100 condi dmg and +25% duration from those, yes?
Balth is +175 Condi dmg and +45% Burn duration.
Then don’t play it?
I was having a blast.
For DPS: Condi ranger is the best option for dps, power ranger is vastly inferior for PvE dps.
This statement is a bit overkill. I run both and Condi really doesn’t start out-dpsing Power until 20 seconds in because of Quickness, SotP, etc.
This makes Power better for short fights and burn phases (which looks like it’ll be a thing on tongue monster thing boss).
Condi will still be used more often than Power, but you really want to be optimal you’ll carry Druid gear, Condi gear and Power gear.
The best way to set up a viable Ranger build for raids is to drop the perfectionism and accept that an extra two or three minutes in a raid from suboptimal damage output really isn’t that big a deal. I most certainly appreciate that you’re aiming to let everyone participate, so my comment really isn’t directed at you so much as the types who see the “meta” as the only thing that exists. X) I’d say that, so long as they’re pulling their own weight, they’re as viable as they need to be.
what is going on
I personally like the sword as is.
Changing the skill to not have leaps would take away the leaps. No thanks.
Learn to cancel/swap if you want to use sword. It takes like 10 minutes on a dodge roll dummy.
Carrion Survival doesn’t run any bows.
I like this build a lot.
I’ve always believed Druid should have Sword on weapon swap for helping with DPS when possible, and you integrated WH alongside it pretty well.
EDIT: My buildkon lagged for a moment and showed Tides. lol

Druid is position-based. They said that from the start. Only makes sense that the range of these fit that theme.
Healing power is going to scale better.
Ranger probably needs some shouts reworked, but suggesting a class overhaul and a lot of these changes isn’t really plausible. Signet of Stone for example would be OP given any buff, as it is already used in pretty much every competitive spvp build. On Search and Rescue yeah, the revive speed should be similar to that of Ranger’s own downed state, but it makes no sense to add anything else to it. Those spirit buffs are OP as hell. People complain all day about spirits but they see use every day. They’re good.
Many of the other changes suggested here also don’t play out very well from a game design perspective, but I just wanted to give you an idea.
Do certain skills need some love? Yeah. Do they need overhauls? No.
(edited by Lome.8239)
This build doesn’t have Spotter which has far more value than boons that generally get tacked on by other classes in the raid.
I would try making a build around Skirmishing/BM/Druid instead.
I also wouldn’t have a 100% investment into healing power. I think Druids will be healing most of the time, but I can see a sword on weapon swap for DPSing whenever possible as their meta.
Sorry, but who cares about CD reduction? Just Quickdraw it.
Within the open world of the Heart of Maguuma, you’ll earn and build two new armor sets with unique looks for light, medium, and heavy armor, five new weapon sets, and over 60 unique additional item skins, miniatures, and more!
And that does not include the Legendary gear including all levels of precursors (there will be 3 each or something like that I believe.
Any numbers we know of today would just account for how many would be immediately available at launch.
As raid wings and other additional new content are released, new skins will come with them.
It’s a lot of gear to carry around, but Power Ranger, Sinister Ranger and Druid.
You were willing to take a screenshot for our review instead of pressing Q, which any normal asura would have done.
You are not a normal asura. You are an inspiration. A warrior. A legend.
People wanted hardcore content.
Hardcore content requires being prepared with multiple armor sets and builds.
If you don’t want to be hardcore, then don’t play hardcore content.
There isn’t enough compromise in these changes (leaving them overpowered), and I don’t know why these changes would be necessary in the first place. Glyphs have been seeing a lot of use in the beta so far, and I think we should let the expansion settle before looking them over like this.
Everyone thinks they are a class developer these days.
The parties that were clearing the first boss had their druids in Berserker gear.
If there’s a base healing nerf and scaling healing buff, some pieces may switch out to Zealot.
On bosses where you absolutely need more Condi dmg, just switch to the axe/torch sinister build.
Eternal Guardian world first according to the Druid in the video was done in Cleric.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thS431kCOcg
Okay, but other parties succeeded with Berserker and right now Berserker is the best in slot until they change the base/scaling properties of the heal.
What is going on in this thread?
Guardian, Tempest and especially Herald/Revenant are all capable of mitigating damage as well as Druid. Druid is best at raw HPS, yes, but the other classes make up for it with mitigation and other forms of support.
I thought the adds were boring. Yea they require different types of damage or control and offer a break bar but I would have liked to see them having something that needed interrupting at the same time. Or what if there were more than the 3 adds. Like say they added two more add colors and every week you never know which combination you’ll face. Each add could bring a unique mechanic to deal with so every week the way you handle fight mechanics changes. That would be more interesting than direct dmg, condis, boon strip, now break the break bar.
Edit: I don’t want to be all negative though, I loved the stacking mechanic and the control aspect.
I believe the point of the adds is to gradually teach you the mechanics of the upcoming fight, so you can learn to handle all of the boss mechanics before having to deal with all of them at once.
I personally think this concept is beautiful, and I hope it continues in raid content.

I personally love the way it looks on Asura.
This is probably because Druids were running zerk in the parties that cleared the first raid boss in the beta.
Nature Magic and Beast Mastery supply plenty of support in addition to the massive aoe regen they have.
You can have ridiculous aoe prot uptime with lingering magic blue moa and pulsing earth spirit. You can also opt to have your pet heal with its F2, while having it pick up healing traits in the BM tree. Quickness on pet swap is huge for rezzing people, as well.
Druid can use both warhorn and staff btw, and it’s actually recommended since warhorn 5 blasts staff 5 while providing the aoe regen.
Can people please stop pretending that they are game developers?
Are you leaving out ele on purpose? We got the least diversity when it comes to weapons. Imo I think that is due to lazyiness/not having enough time, though. I think warrior is fine with an offhand, but mesmer should have probs gotten a MH.
Why would he include Ele? Warhorn = 8 skills, and Tempest is playing incredibly well lately now that people are figuring out cool builds for it.
I know this may not be constructive, but when has Charr ever not looked weird in anything?
When they are naked.
Well played.

You got a few points for the replies, but I can’t justify any more merits than that.
Have a wonderful day, and we’ll see you next time on Under the Bridge.
While I agree with the idea this thread is painting, it’s important not to get carried away on the statistics.
With 1000 people wanting to raid, we’ve probably only lost about 1,500 hours of invaluable testing and debugging, 8,100 (precisely!) hours of either troll or ignorant feedback, and the rest spent on people who did not share their input with anyone after concluding their experience.
Press F when next to a downed party member to activate your revive ability.
I think it’s majority opinion that the difficulty was great in BW2, and that we’d be happy if it went back to that.
Hopefully ANet listens.
We have no idea what the best set for Druid is yet, and won’t know until after the first wing is released.
People are impatient.
Just as a heads up, regardless of how I feel on the matter: Guardian and Revenant can heal/mitigate too.
Yeehaw.
Few more things:
6. Masteries are completely locked in an linear now, no choice, terrible change
7. Gliding takes much more xp to unlock now. Pointless change that makes the map less fun to navigate for no reason.
Shoulda stopped at the original post.
Pretty sure it’s just gliding that you have to get first (which makes perfect sense for game and map design) before you can start choosing.
Yeah as someone else noted they prioritize using it, so if you pet swap to a drake mid-fight it will immediately tail swipe if it’s ready to use.
I need a box for “I am a ranger player and it’s way too early to tell about druid.”
It’s called “View Results”.
lol if it’s too early for you then don’t vote.
9k is a very big crit and its very rare to see that even at 80 as a ranger unless you are really setting up burst with multiple cooldowns.
Usually the last few hits of Rapid Fire are all above 9k (in berserker).
Try condi, it currently out damages zerker significantly. Here is a good starting point – http://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Ranger_-_A/T_Condition
While I love condi, it’s important to remember that it doesn’t start out-dpsing Berserker until about 30 seconds into a fight on a target that hasnt moved out of any bonfires.
Berserker is still better at short fights, adds, moving targets and burn phases (which apparently will be a thing in raids).
I’m guessing it’ll be best to carry both sets and switch depending on the boss when raids come out. That would be cool IMO.
In PvE we are very viable, especially with ice bow nerf. In raids specifically, we’ll have to see.
In PvP Druid could be the solution. We’ll have to see.
In WvW Druid will most likely be the solution. We’ll have to see.
Why would you give the Guardian the Druid, when Guardians can already build to heal/protect as much as a Druid can?
There’s already a trait that boosts some power based off of healing power if that helps.
If you want to build more damage, build more damage. You can’t have it all.
http://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Ranger_-_S/A_LB_Spotter
Here you go.
This build is currently a spot or two outside of the “ideal meta comp”, but after the ice bow nerf we should be seeing a lot more invites to dungeons.
Fractals are the new 5 man content. Sorry.
they are the new 5 man content, and they havent added any new ones in HOT
After reading this post, my face welcomes my palm in this hour.
Because having to build more defense/support/control than full Berserker, and having trait lines that are very supportive automatically means trinity, right?
Sure, it does work and is useful, but that is hardly synergy.
Synergy would be your pet dealing additional damage or crippling foes with the wisp attached, or shadow stepping to your target when you use Vine Surge.
That’s just using your version of the word.
Technically one can argue that the staff has enhanced synergy as it synergizes with not just the pet but other allies as well, so the pet synergy is still there… and then some!
The problem I see in this is that the might stacking is just for yourself, when a good party will put you at 25 stacks anyway.
You also make less use of the might by not having Sword, LB+QD, etc.
That condi cleanse is going to be ridiculous for Conquest team fights.
Did this thread really happen?
Of course they’ll be on top of this for Druid, as they have been for every other class.
