WvW – Structure Upgrade Re-Work idea!
WvW – Art of War Guild Buffs & Keep Claiming Re-Work idea!
I don’t imply anything – I share my experience from past 2 years and what other people have shared with me and provide you all with my idea for improvement.
I can easily say the same for you that you imply stuff but i wont – instead can you provide with better idea or provide feedback on what part of my idea is bad and why ?
Yes you imply a great many things, you post almost nothing about your server and literally encompass WvW in its entirety in your claims. I only claim to speak for myself and my experiences on my server I played on, so no, you cannot say the same for me.
As well, I did point out a massive flaw in your suggestion (other then projecting your personal experience on the entirety of WvW as a whole), but you ignored it and what I said and asked. My direct questions toward you and how it effect server communities went unanswered by you.
It’s my experience and my idea – we can talk about me but this topic is about my idea and what I’ve suggested based on my experience.
If you’re not here to provide any feedback than you can enjoy current state of World vs world and not be part of this discussion.
I don’t need trolls but creative people who can brainstorm with us here like other people who posted on this topic did – providing feedback or their own ideas.
The difference is that you cannot see Organized guild raids in EoTM or EB (happens sometimes) – because they cannot get their raid members inside and choose to go to borderlands and try to face other organized guilds.
It is difficult to take you seriously when your making disingenuous claims of this nature. We have 72+ servers across 3 regions and you sit here and claim to suggest you have the slightest idea of who can or cannot get into EB? How many times have you switched servers to claim to know what happens on them all?
I can speak of my own experience and claim what i have go through.
On top of that i’m part of one of the biggest Guild Wars 2 communities and heard many sharing same experience as mine.
This may be different in bronze tier.
You post that in a manor in which it appear you are implying your opinion has more value because of a community you claim to be a part of. What community would that be?
You suggest you base your comments off of your own experiences, yet you claim raid guilds cannot get into EB which is untrue. As a JQ(T1) WvW player since the start, it is easily coordinated. As a general rule, smaller groups will often relocated when asked to make room for organized guild groups. Not all, but generally enough for my 30-40 man guild group to get in.
By the way, how does your multi map suggestion keep folks organized? I have a very large community outside of my guild (as do others I know) who want to stick together. How does your idea not destroy that?
What do you do when one of the 3 (teams?) has enough to populate 5 maps, and the other two teams do not? Do they sit in queue for hours? Everything about your suggestion, as far as I can see it, will fracture and destroy the the community of players that I have now, that can populate 4 maps and have a queue.
I don’t imply anything – I share my experience from past 2 years and what other people have shared with me and provide you all with my idea for improvement.
I can easily say the same for you that you imply stuff but i wont – instead can you provide with better idea or provide feedback on what part of my idea is bad and why ?
You didn’t red my post else you would know that for all of this to work there should be a working RAID system so you can carry your beloved community where ever you want – means rally your raid to your freshly created new map.
One of the main goals is to get provided with tools to better organize our guild raids/community raids because we don’t have any tools after more than 2 years what so ever and the state of World vs Worlds is getting worst every day.

So under your idea, a ‘raid leader’ can drag up to 25 people in to an already full map, hence having numerical superiority?
Or just organise 3 or 4 raid leaders in one map, who then pull everyone in?
Just asking how you think that will work…
Personally I’d be against any sort of megaserver or guild led solution to wvw.
One large, scalable map would be one solution, or have the main map as an expanded eb type map and then have 2-3 hour maps as an add on to the score where only player kills count and are very much based on ‘fort aspenwood’ type maps where capping and holding points award bonuses (but no siege, thanks!).
Sadly the servers can’t support sufficient numbers to give us what the game mode should be, but a start would be making it so no tower can be breached in under 5 minutes allowing proper defence to be organised, and granting bonuses to players the fewer players and objects they own on a map the better the bonus (like the bonuses for gw1).
Not full map but to new freshly created map – Mega-server system is based on maps which re-creates themselves once the current one is filled.
This way guild raids will have a better chance to get their raid into 1 map without 15 people stuck in queue for next 2 hours.

This may be different in bronze tier.
My server is more than just one guild. Our guilds often work together whether on the same map or hitting different objectives on multiple maps. My server is more than just the guilds on it, many people who aren’t in big guilds and can’t field more than 5 still play a crucial role in the success of my server. My server is more than just a server, it’s a community—a diverse community made up of people from around the world. Removing server affinity from WvW would only destroy this community we worked so hard over the last two years to make.
The server I’ve started playing this game changed 240+ guilds (both big and small) and god knows how many single players past 2 years. (I literary have friends and ex.guildies in every single server in Europe right now)
We’ve been in all 2 tiers (bronze, silver and gold) past WvW tournaments and multiple times in all 3 divisions out of tournament time.
Server pride an affinity died like year and more ago when ArenaNET hit the button named – MEGA. (mega events, mega server and megastuff.)
The EoTM mentality wasn’t created by ArenaNET it was created by players.
Agree with that, but tell me how your proposal is not an EotM? No more servers, only colors..
And you have to admit: should WvW shift to megaserver, than the EotM mentality will seep in eventually..
Everything you see in EoTM was carried over from Eternal Battlegrounds – randoms that rally behind 1 tag K-training all day long.
The difference is that you cannot see Organized guild raids in EoTM or EB (happens sometimes) – because they cannot get their raid members inside and choose to go to borderlands and try to face other organized guilds.
With my idea when the RAID system with all it features becomes a thing the Raid leader will have the option to choose who to have in his raid and rally his raid to the freshly created maps.
There will be always a change K-trains to meet organized guild raids that can wipe them out and people will hopefully get rid of the k-train mentality and look to improve their skills get into more organized guilds or organize one themselves.
And as for K-train lovers – they will always have a maps with people that they can tag along and do their stuff (for low every server below gold tier) with the chance of meeting guild raids – which don’t happen in EoTM and EB right now and that is why this mentality exists.
I hope this makes it clear to all the people who compare my idea with EoTM just because it have the same color teaming like EoTM that it’s not what we’re looking to create here – idea is to solve the population problem without merging any servers or damaging existing server communities. (Merging servers is of the most damaging for existing communities thing that I’ve witnessed in some of my previous MMOs)
sPvP is using color teaming since the beginning too.
(edited by Luna.9640)
So with this new system there will be high chance K-trains face organized raids which will finally remove them and bring World vs Worlds to more competitive and skill/organized level game type.
Oh, raid organization like we see every day in EotM?
My idea has nothing to do with EoTM – except the switching server names with colors.
The EoTM mentality wasn’t created by ArenaNET it was created by players.
Guild vs Guild never happened as it should – there was only some laughable attempts in face of this “space” inside Obsidian Sanctum.
Laughable, what WvW noname is speaking here? Propably some random guy who zergs people with 80 or who would want to do that, but doesn’t have the people on his/her server.
In terms of server balancing, maybe and idea of putting several servers together in WvW. So two servers are the same color in the matchup (and they can change as well). As an example, WSR and FoW are red, then Underworld, Vabbi are green and two other server are blue. You could do that only in lower tiers, or you can put one small server together with a large server. With the last overpopulation could become a problem though if T1 severs are linked to smaller ones.
I suggest you to re-read the part you quote i was referring to “Obsidian Sanctum Arena” as laughable as Guild vs Guild Feature compared to what other MMOs have and what GvG community was asking for in face of Clan vs Clan/Raid vs Raid/Guild vs Guild features. (i do not see any spectator mode, designated Arena only for Raid vs Raid with ladders and progression and all the stuff that GvG requires and will benefit from)
It’s even more laughable that you don’t know my name and have RG in your signature lol.
(edited by Luna.9640)
So you want to extend EotM to all true WvW maps? That is a big no, already enough K-train possibilities.. Please keep the borderlands and EB as they are, maybe work to get some population-balancing, but please NO megaservers in WvW..
Btw, ANet doesn’t have to do anything so you get server pride.. Or you have it, or you don’t, imho..
This idea has nothing to do with making EB and BLS to EoTM – because there will be very high probability K-Trains to end up in maps with one or organized guild raids – needless to say what happens when organized guild raid faces the unorganized k-train.
(I still remember what happened when RG once joined EoTM – giving example with RG since I’ve witnessed it myself.)
So with this new system there will be high chance K-trains face organized raids which will finally remove them and bring World vs Worlds to more competitive and skill/organized level game type.
At this point i do not see any fix or way working out for World Vs World anymore so i think its time to implement the Megaserver system into WvW too.
I’m inspired for this idea seeing how everyone keeps queuing up 1st to Eternal Battlegrounds and than checking the borderlands for most of the not over-populated servers.
The other place i was observing was Edge Of The Mists – since there are no server but color affinity, there is almost always people who you can tag along ( and i don’t mean mindless karma trains).
Let’s face it ArenaNET didn’t do anything to boost things like server pride/scouting and defending.
Guild vs Guild (as feature not actual battle) never happened as it should – there was only some laughable attempts in face of this “space” inside Obsidian Sanctum.
Raid system (as feature) didn’t happen – which is the backbone for any organization.
Remember my goal with this idea is to make World vs World better place and finally do some sort of long-term improvement both for organized guilds and randoms.
Edit: Because people mismatch my idea with turning all wvw maps into EoTM alikes – sPvP is using color teaming since the beginning.
(edited by Luna.9640)
Well i really had this feeling since the betas that it’s not a technical issue that forum have – It’s the people who handle those forums that keep this place in such a bad shape and hold back a platform migration (for which you can get outside support too if you can do it yourself.)
let me list 2 0-day bugs that never got fixed:
1. Forum Search
2. Page mismatch after topic get long enough to create more than 1 page to view.
I will repeat myself again – Only long-term solution for this forum is new forum platform. (why crawl when you can fly?)
@ MRA – I’ve migrated my almost 10 year old lineage 2 community forum to one of the modern forum systems – took me around 1 hour as someone who never had to do stuff like this and didn’t loose any data on the contrary the whole thing improved more than we expected – If i can do it,people who get paid to maintain this forums should be able to do it without any problem during their lunch break.

A have an alternative that we are considering.
A little background first. We are only looking at making this change to tidy up the front page of the forum, not hide all old posts. While the archived forums are in their own ‘Archive’ category, they still take up a significant amount of space, and we’re looking to give the front page a cleaner look.
So, let me know what you all think of this alternative plan:
Instead of making the archived subforums unavailable to read, we can ‘unpublish’ the subforums from the front page. These subforums would still be accessible (read-only) via a direct link to the page, but would not show up as links in the forum index.
How about you FINALLY move to 2015 and move to better forum platform that supports grid-view or folder-view ?
If you had Folder-View option you can simply create “Archive Folder” and move all the archived sub-forums there and on the front page pf the forums there would be only – “<Folder Icon> [Archives]”.
Once you move to modern forum platforms that support actually useful stuff – this crap will finally be called – GUILD WARS 2 FORUMS till than nothing can help you – anything you do will simply make things worst.
Edit: Added screenshot how can it look like.
(edited by Luna.9640)
Gaile you do realize that your so called “forum specialists” will get verbally murdered the second they join any hot topic related to balance, wvw, spvp or rewards as well as expansion and QoL ?
The only reason people pay respect (sometimes) to the specific post that is defending certain feature or part of the game is because of the staff member badges you people have.
I can already see how this is backfiring horribly just looking at my crystal ball here.I can already see how forum trolls are sharpening their claws out there eager to toy with the fresh meat.
Anyway – Good luck. (Good Intention but Bad Execution – ArenaNet 2014-2015®)
P.S. your forum white-knights will have friends, families and followers who will try to back them up and that is when the hell will get loose 4 real.
(edited by Luna.9640)
Do you thing it’s good those banners you buy with guild commendations to be able to sell at trading posts ?
It would be hell of a useful thing for event running communities and small guild or for when you (big guilds) are out of banners.
Its a buff after all like food and nourishment after all.
What do you think ?
ArenaNET fails to realize that WvW – NEVER STOPS.
I’m early birdy and one of the few to wake up and log WvW.
I’m mostly alone “scouting” one of the maps – because early in the morning my server don’t have more than 2-5 people in wvw.
EBG have – 4 towers,2 camps and 1 keep on our side of the map.
Home Border have – 4 towers,3 keeps and 6 camps in total.
Now i would like the developers who came with the “no white swords” idea to come here and explain me how does 2+2 = 4 or how 5 man can be covering – 5 keeps,8 towers and 8 camps without “under attack” markers ?
This feature is good only if there is a “peace” period during the time when there is most inactivity at WvW (eg. EU server’s wvw is empty during the night since most of us share same timezone or +1-2/-1-2 hours difference and sleep almost at same time, work at same time and have dinner at same time.)
Dear Anet you cannot throw features like this – they affect quite large system of activities to be put this way.
Create a system that covers all parts of the WvW if you’re going to make changes like this – because we’re not robots to sit in towers/keeps 24/7 – next time present a real counter to this offensive feature.
Stop punishing the players who are playing the defensive part of the game and giving advantages to attackers – promoting only karma trains.
We “the scouts” will not – Quit our jobs, divorce our wives/husbands and give our kids for adoption just to be able to sit in WvW in case someone decides to attack the keep/tower we spend our time, money and effort upgrading.
(edited by Luna.9640)
it was like that all these while, over a year, and you only just realized ?
I never had the need to check what are the dailies till now.
Funny right ?
I always completed them only by playing the game and never had the urge to check whats on the menu for today till now.
I think verbally more appropriate word is – Conquer
Conquer – to acquire by force of arms; win in war
“to conquer a foreign land.”
I think this way because “claim” something in WvW is present already and it’s the guild structure claim feature.
http://i.imgur.com/MupS8ZI.jpg
(I’ve claimed 1 tower thinking that this is what I’m supposed to do but i didn’t get the achievement than I’ve jumped outside and conquered the sentry next to the tower and go the achievement)

Happened when I’ve tried to choose to receive the new exotic rune from the exotic bag like thingy.
Is this one related to the snowball fight? If so, that is being investigated right now. If related to something else, could you please provide a brief description? Having a verbal description helps me know to whom I should send an inquiry, where an error message isn’t descriptive enough.
Thank you.
Happened why i was trying to enter the snowball fight using the teleport thingy.
Looking into it, and thanks for the report. (Did you also send the report to ArenaNet, when given the option?)
Yes.
I have reported like 5 different crashes after the patch.
(and my daily inventory resize bug was reported as well – since it’s not fixed)
Let me start.

How much you’re getting paid by Anet ? (answer carefully because the door can always hit you from behind)
So because someone doesn’t see this change in a negative light, you assume they are getting paid by anet?
No but his whole “psychiatrist torturing his mentally ill patient laying on the coach” type of questions and answers is typical to people who get paid to white-knight certain companies over internet. (which I’ve red about in newspaper)
Firstly, incentifizing logging doesn’t mean people will burn out. That assumes they’d be doing certain things with in the game constantly after logging in. Even then, you and I do not have to log in for these rewards.
Secondly, this isn’t a new thing. Other games have it a plenty and I fail to see any negatives for the gamer associated with log in rewards.
Thirdly, there are plenty of ‘log-in’ rewards already. Camp your toon next to your home instance and gather resource nodes that reset daily, time-gated ascended materials, and certain events.
To answer some of your concerns though, log in rewards are not entirely and solely expected to Freemium mobile games, though they are there. Warframe, first game that comes to mind, uses log-in rewards.
“I know that A-net are trying to make us keep coming back with the patches, and I accepted their “Log-in with each patch” approach to do so… but THIS is a bit to obvious”
Not sure what you’re getting at here, but I hope that Anet is obvious with their design decisions geared at getting more players to keep coming back. That is what I define as a good game. The whole perception of Anet being desperate is a moot opinion, and I would prefer more points as to WHY it makes them seem desperate than just telling me.
“After all loging in is not something to justify a reward.”
Why not?
“Besides that, not all of us can log-in every day so not to break the chain, ether because of work, being away from home (it’s not something you can do from your cell phone) or simply don’t feel like playing today.”
Maybe you didn’t read the whole article:
“Missed a day because of work, vacation, or a work vacation? No worries, your progress is still there! The next time you log in, you’ll pick up where you left off. The system will only reset once you’ve claimed the 28th and final reward.”
“The Biggest advantage GW2 has over paying MMOs is that you can stop any time without fearing of wasting the subscription you’ve paid”
Non sequitor, but if you are implying that this log-in system thus diminishes this advantage then I would require more examples/points because otherwise it’s just conjecture.
“Forcing us to get into the game every day will only cause us to burn out and downright quit it at some point.”
Not forcing. It is an incentive.
How much you’re getting paid by Anet ? (answer carefully because the door can always hit you from behind)
Will it tell me where to go and what to do?
ATM if I want to level my new engi in Kessex I can likely get daily gatherer, kills, revives, recycler, events, dodges, interrupts while I’m doing that. I do what I want and do the other stuff in passing.
Is the new system going to tell me “do a group event” or is it “go to Lornar’s Pass and do event X”?
If it involves “kill Shatterer” what do you think ?
Next QoL update will be – “Playtime-o-metter” (Tada!)
A new feature that will track the time you spend online and reward you for being in-game as well as it will be required to play the game itself and do anything in-game :O (Archeage labor points anyone?)
(edited by Luna.9640)
Does this mean that we only have until Tuesday to finish our monthly?
You will have till the end of December as normal to complete this months before the monthly system is retired.
Mr.Mordem who decided that Fractal reward – WvW reward – sPvP reward are equally rewarding and equally easy to get in terms of normal play and not by daily reward ?
Fractal reward – pristine fractal relic, some additional agony resistance , and a tome of knowledge.
Taking a tower in WvW for an achievement will grant you – World vs. World experience and additional badges of honor.
Capturing a point in PvP will give you additional reward track progress.
I don’t think that what WvW and sPvP players get is equally rewarding compared to what Fractal Runners get.
(edited by Luna.9640)
The OP (the bolded part anyway) is a steaming pile of hyperbole. I would be happy with 5% of what he mentioned in an expansion. That 5% would still be more than what the LS has given us.
And how much you are willing to pay for 5% of what I’ve listed ? (5% is close to Dry Top+Silverwastes+Aetherblade path+Marionette fight+ maybe the latest fractals)
So how much you pay for that ? (10$ ?)
(edited by Luna.9640)
In the meanwhile Anet has to think of how to keep an expansion work without touching the max level cap. I am really curious how they are going to do this.
factions, nightfall, and eye of the north did not touch the level cap
Oh yeah I know the old team could do it. That team was pure awesome. But there are none of them around anymore
Colin Johanson says hi
Havent seen him in ages, nor mike o brien for instance.
They are still here and I know for a fact that Colin reads this stuff himself. Unfortunately that rarely comes across.
He may read but he is “corrupted by dragon’s Influence” and now we call him – Colin “Mordem” Johanson.
Hope people can see whats behind the sarcasm.
(unless devs add 1 new continent twice the size of Tyria,10 more well designed dungeons with all their dungeon sets and weapons,17 more fractals,2 real dragon bosses,at least 2 more playable races,4 more classes,11 new weapon types and 30 more weapon combos,Submarines and ships,Guild Hall instance,GvG Arena with ladders and stuff,Mounts and ability to freely fly around,5 more different in design WvW maps and WvW Events,10 more sPvP maps and PvP modes…and so on)
So your argument is… you won’t be happy with an expansion… unless it is actually an expansion… well that is sort of a given isn’kitten
Your list is essentially a WoW expansion… the fact that you think it is some absurd hyperbole just goes to show how little content we have gotten so far…
The list i’ve gathered is created from the posts on this forum and various social media and gaming websites – it sums up what people are looking to see inside the upcoming expansion. (maybe with bit less proportions but yet the content is same)
My personal list is way different trust me :>
Let me say this. When the game released I was largely happy with all the content (besides the end of the Personal Story and the fight with Zhaitan.)
I had no quarrels with the leveling experience, the trait system, the trading post, WvW, dungeons, or the different worlds.
Instead of building on to all of these, a lot of the systems the game shipped with have been drastically changed, removed, or just stopped completely.
Frankly, I don’t find Living Story interesting. The story is drawn out with many dropped plots.
Here we are over two years into the life of the game with only one of the six dragons slain. Something that I was under the impression to be the main plot to Guild Wars 2 (hence the dragon in the logo.) I figured we would see much more of the six dragons within two years, paving way for new un-adventured areas and plots. I had optimism that I would see the ravages of Palawa Joko in Elona, the new order of the merged Luxon and Kurzicks. I thought all the old plots would be revealed to pave way for new uncharted territory.
Instead, we are just now looking to slay a 2nd dragon. It’s just not ‘mouth watering’ when it’s long and drawn out.
Not sure what else to say.
I couldn’t agree more.
With all the announcements they make around Living Story and how “Tyria wont be the same after all this” how big of an impact all this have made…
What we should expect from an expansion ? Colonizing another planet ? (because apparently we already had “BIG” world changing events with past 2 living story arcs according to their announces)
Getting the feeling like they would ship the beginning of a story as an expansion and make it to another “living story” 2 week update cycle for some reason after those 2 years.
While an expansion would not end all problems ever with GW2, it would still be very welcome.
Would it be able to satisfy everyone? No… clearly nothing will do that. Would it make a lot of fans happy? Yes very much so.I don’t think anyone expects nearly as much as you suggest in the OP.
I would be completely happy with just 1 more playable race, don’t really care for more professions, but again 1 or 2 would most likely keep most people happy.
They don’t need to add what you’re looking for into expansion … Living story will cover what you want.
Actually Living Story can cover most of the most demanded features community is asking.
Why ask for expansion when they can just drop a bit of an actual expansion with every few episodes of the Living Story Arcs ?
(unless devs add 1 new continent twice the size of Tyria,10 more well designed dungeons with all their dungeon sets and weapons,17 more fractals,2 real dragon bosses,at least 2 more playable races,4 more classes,11 new weapon types and 30 more weapon combos,Submarines and ships,Guild Hall instance,GvG Arena with ladders and stuff,Mounts and ability to freely fly around,5 more different in design WvW maps and WvW Events,10 more sPvP maps and PvP modes…and so on)

You want to be able to farm newbies? Yet everyone complains about the quality of the matches.
I double that.
Give a kitten chance for new players or players who just discovered sPvP mode as fun as other parts of the game.
You’re so eager and full of ego that you would rather make a new player quit after being stomped rather than taking some time and let others catch up.
Wrong. I will be completely satisfied if the expansion provides me with the following content (quality content):
- A comprehensive story line that I can complete start to finish at my own pace.
- New end game armors and weapons that are not Gem Store accessible.
- Dungeons.
- New skills and weapons.
- New PvP game mode types.
- Guild improvements with the addition of Guild Halls and Alliances.
- Additional WvW Maps and improvements.
This was provided to you past year by current living story and latest sPvP update.
Your expectations are fulfilled already than…so enjoy i guess :>
No need for an expansion what so ever.
Factions and Nightfall kept me occupied for far longer than that.
History proves you wrong.
Only thing history proved us so far is that – Guild Wars 2 has nothing to do with Guild Wars 1 (which was epic compared to what we have now)
Seeing all the hurr durr about how everyone want an expansion and you see how “it will solve all the problems” in this game made me realize that there will be tons of people who wont be satisfied at all when it goes out.
Why i think so you say ?
Well 1st of all as someone who’s been around for ages (since betas) and survived 2 Living Story seasons, bunch of WvW seasons and few e-sports attempts – I don’t think that devs will match player’s expectations in their 1st expansions (unless devs add 1 new continent twice the size of Tyria,10 more well designed dungeons with all their dungeon sets and weapons,17 more fractals,2 real dragon bosses,at least 2 more playable races,4 more classes,11 new weapon types and 30 more weapon combos,Submarines and ships,Guild Hall instance,GvG Arena with ladders and stuff,Mounts and ability to freely fly around,5 more different in design WvW maps and WvW Events,10 more sPvP maps and PvP modes…and so on)
Yea they will add this so long awaited expansion and people will finish everything related to it in just about 2 weeks (for hardcore players) and a month or so for casuals.
We barely started to get in touch with devs using CDI and other initiatives so i think that if we get expansion lets say somewhere in 2015 (next year) it will be lacking content and wont do any good.
I’m sure that after devs finally got in touch with their community which they neglected for so long they’ve aborted many projects that was meant to be part of the expansion and started to work on stuff people demand.
So yea peace of advice don’t set your expectations too high for the expansion becuase you will end up quite salty.
OP you are more wrong than wrong.
If you want control on the composition of your
team then form a team.
New players have to get better, and the best way to do
this is in ranked arenas.
We need more players in the game, and these will be new players.
New players can get matched up with other new players and get better together.
Just because you don’t share my opinion or can’t see how big of an improvement will be separating new from old player will be don’t make me wrong.
We was having this discussion over our community today and turned out I’m not the only one out there that thinks that Anet should pay more respect to veterans with 2y+ in this game and stop matching them with with low levels (someone who bought the game yesterday and is not on same page with people who have been playing for 2 years or more).
Please Anet remember to include this fix in your next patch and separate players according to their playtime and level too.
I do not imply that low levels are unskilled or anything i just do not want them to be part of my team when i play the only competitive part of this game – I feel better having people who have spend enough time playing the game and learning it’s mechanics rather than teaching it every match to new players. (and trust me i did quite a lot explanations and guides in past 2y)
you spent 2+ years on this game but don’t have the patience to play a 5-10 min game with a player who may or may not be better than you at pvp despite their level?
wat
In my 2y+ in this game i have more than enough time to come by all kind of stuff and having low level in my PvP team always led to bad experience – loosing or not so funny for competitive play.
Now i will rather go grab something to drink alt+tab to read something on internet than playing with low levels.
I can play my alts and be annoying too but i have some respect towards other people around me and play the characters I’ve leveled and learned the class mechanics good enough to be able to give maximum of it during COMPETITIVE PVP.
TL:DR all low levels i met in PvP was bad in it.So please don’t come with theories about how you log your lvl2 and dominate whole match 1v5 because i don’t buy it – my experience in past 2y was the opposite of what you say.
(i’ve clearly stated that its the time spend playing the game as representation of their level not the level itself).
You have not. Using the term “level” to describe this issue was an exceedingly poor choice, and I too thought that you had some silly aversion to low level characters (actual in-game level) in your PvP teams after reading your OP.
Read my 1st post again and again both 1st and last parts says level is representing something else not the level in my whole post.
The title however is intentionally misleading.
you’re one of those low lifes who care only to stomp
Someone is having a bad day and wants to share.
8/10 :<
Your entire post is invalid. I would rather play with a lvl 2 of a class than a lvl 80 decked out in legendaries and Fractal gear. More likely the lvl 2 has a ton more pvp experience. It should go according to player matches played (NOT account total matches) and nothing more. I could care less if you played the game for over 2 years. Playing for over 2 years means nothing in the aspect of you knowing how to PvP. When I see a lvl 2 I actually get hyped; because that is almost a sure sign they have experience. I see a lvl 80 with a lot of PVE crap on and my heart sinks.
Also, thanks for letting the entire world know that you are 1 of those AFK kittens. Now we can avoid you.
Thank you for proving my point that general population of PvP is made of people who have no idea nor read the posts (i’ve clearly stated that its the time spend playing the game as representation of their level not the level itself).
While there are clearly “skip to end of the post” type of players in PvP it will never improve.
Every other competitive game I’ve played have the feature in their system to check certain things like time spend playing (there is a saying in my country – you’re not a fisher just because you have a fishing pole).
And thank you for making this post showing that you’re one of those low lifes who care only to stomp new players and don’t care for improvement.
Oh and let me touch the “twinking” where top rank players play with alts just to stomp new players and act like pros – well hello there we’ve seen from moba games like Dota2 and LoL that twinking is quite damaging for new starters that is why there should be the level balancing restricting system in place.

I’m adding those 2 screens to show what is actually happening for better understanding of the problem.
1st screen shows how i find my inventory every time i log the game
2nd screen shows how i does my inventory looks when i play and before i log out.
This bug applies to all the 8 characters in my account.
(edited by Luna.9640)
Every time i log the game all of my characters have their inventory windows resized.
I can tell because i have a specific bag setup and last 2 bags have items on them and every time i log they’re hidden because the windows is resized and there is scroll that i don’t have normally since my inventory window is wider to fit.

Every part has its own mysterious stranger.
Here is one from this part.
So you know that Airship that is stationed near Vigil Keep and was created during LA was in ruins ?
What if ArenaNET moved it between Dry Top and Silverwastes so it can be “a bit more useful” ?
And put the Perm. Airship pass to store again. (I’m not an economist but Anet seems quite interested in loosing such good sell opportunities)
To be honest i would like this ship to be always around the new zones – it could be kitten useful thing and the Airship passes could sell like icecream in a desert :>
And it adds up lore wise too since now the Pact fleet has joined the fight against Mordemoth.
P.S. Yes i know that there is an event that can add bank/trader at Silverwastes but for me its bad and the Airship idea is light years better for cash shop and for players.
(this is where i think the airship could be best to be placed)

Will it also reward the person with a razer mmo keyboard with a 5 button macro to keep ones self from afking out of wvw and the game?
The system wont be about how much you stay doing nothing in WvW.
It will be about since when you’re in this server’s wvw doing stuff – needless to say that it will be connected to bunch of other achievements that are linked to stuff normal wvw players do daily to progress towards the title achievement.
( Sorry macro users :< )
Server titles is a nice idea. I would like to sport my FSP title, though I would tweak it a bit.
First, lets not speak of “honor points” to avoid a negative connotation with server transfers. There can be good reasons to transfer such as playing with friends, trying out other tiers, etc. Secondly, link it to doing stuff in WvW, like capuring keeps, towers, etc. Obviously no EOTM achievements. Make it tiered, and let people keep the rank they have reached so that they retain their heritage.
And about the titles: there are only a few WvW titles that are attainable by normal players. “Ultimate Dominator” may be attainable by a few, but titles like “Yakslapper” are next to impossible. Only the seasonal titles are/were achieveable, and they are the opposite, requiring almost no effort.
I like to show the “Veteran of the Mists” title, as a lot of others do, but a little bit more choice would not be too much.
What you say is just to make current titles (which are bound to “doing stuff like taking towers, keeps etc..”) easier to obtain just using other words.
My idea is to give people reason to have server pride and a title system with progression – where you get variety of your title each tier – rather than no title after almost 3 years playing mostly WvW.
A system that will reward people for not server hoping every season just to have guaranteed max rewards.
A system that will reward people who stayed behind and finally acknowledge their efforts for 1 and 1 server only.
A system that can be expanded in future to reward Scouts and Doly Escorts as well as all Defenders and Roamers.

I do not understand your point about discouraging or punishing at all – you get titles no matter what server you are – it’s your choice (for once its your choice).
1.If you move to another server you get the titles for your new server.
2.If you stay you get your titles for your current server.
Basically its – Win-Win situation.
I really do not understand why you complain for getting rewarded just for playing the game – the idea is rewarding and positive.
It’s the opposite – the idea is made to encourage balancing wvw server population by giving a unique reward (a server title) even to underdog servers.
I mean everyone can have SFR or Desolation title…but who can have Vabbi titles ?
I gave examples with Vabbi because they will be the most challenging once and they will require you to go out of your comfortable zone and move to the no mans land.
It will give a reason (even a small one) to all the people who left their servers and moved to another to go back – and fight for their home once again.
so what your saying is make long term dedicated players who are looking for the challenge of being on a weaker WvW server have an extra bar telling them they shouldnt leave? You fail to realize this is a double edged sword it reduces transfers out of low pop servers yes but it also reduces transfers into low pop servers. Honestly i think you just want another title in your pocket
You’re very mistaken.
If you’ve just checked my forum signature you would know that I’m someone who cares for WvW’s well being and try to improve it in ways that wont harm the game or the economy.
The idea is to give just a reason to stick to 1 server rather than being mindless band-wagoner lured by season rewards and karma trains on over-stacked servers.
You’re forgetting that not everyone is interested in Vabbi Titles :> I know people who was in Desolation,Elona or SFR since the beginning of this game and never left and they will like their loyalty to this server rewarded. (we’re talking about more than 2 years!) and same goes for low tier servers like Vabbi,ROF,FoW etc.. as well as people from AG,Piken,GH.
The idea is go give titles because i see them as only thing that don’t do any hard as reward messing with economy or the game itself while adding a reasonable reward for those the accomplish the goal.
