There is 1 rule of the “Forum Code of Conduct” that literally gets abused by every mod and used to censorship – “not leading to constructive discussion”

Can you please work it to be more specific/clear and when a certain topic gets deleted the mods should 100% clearly state what word/sentence w/e part of the thread/post is against the rules exactly.

I’ve my topic deleted just because someone else that posted there was breaking the rules.However i got my topic deleted without this “little” detail pointed so i had to go through mailing forums@arena.net waste time and get upset just because your mods are too lazy to point out the real reason for their action or hide it under a totally not specific – “not leading to constructive discussion”

Like you devs/mods are human we forum community are human as well but the only difference is we are costumers on top of that so this should never be forgotten.

We are currently working with our mod team to improve moderation responses and communication. Please email any issues you have with moderation to forums@arena.net. I know some of you feel that’s a tired response, but in addition to fielding appeals, emailing us there helps us to identify where the mods could use improvement and communicate this information back to the team. Since we’re not omniscient, we depend on you guys to let us know when mistakes are being made.

The reason we typically don’t allow discussion of moderation actions on the forums is because threads of that type can quickly get out of hand with 100 people jumping in to complain about their personal experiences with colorful adjectives and insults.

Thats really positive to hear from you.Thank you for taking a time to talk to the community more Mark.Thank you and other people involved with relaying our feedbacks to devs and help improve our game.

We hold our staff members to the same standards as the players when posting on the forums and encourage them to exceed those standards. That said, developers are real people too and we prefer that our staff members post with their own personalities and not just rehash marketing speak. Guy stay on topic – its about low population servers where you dont even have the player needed to cover turrets,batteries and defense/attack.

It’s not about the complexity (which will stop existing in time with players learning what and when to do) but about not having nuff man power to fulfill the tasks.

Greetings, WvW enthusiasts & developer!

I’d just like to start out by saying what a beautiful job you’ve done with the map design. Really, you’ve outdone yourselves! The new areas are really well done and thought out. I think the new maps, personally, were worth the wait.

While I personally disagree with the stat buff, I will not comment further on it – as I would be slightly biased in my opinion of it.

All I ask is that you review your bug report submissions. This is something that was done in previous revisions of the game, but it seems the attention to bug reports and exploits e-mail have fallen since then. While I hope that some of the reports get looked at, I will address some of the ones here that need to be fixed now.

Please hotfix the following issues;

  • MASSIVE multi-map lag spikes related to the buff changing hands. I understand why this is lagging (stat recalculations done on every player), but the issue is the buff is being reapplied like 20 times/sec for several seconds occasionally. Not sure whats going on here.

ps. I said I won’t comment, but I’ll leave this here. Guard stacks + Major orb bonus = OP. http://i.imgur.com/3QIR621.jpg

Just to add 1 more thing to all the player and calculation thing – NPCs have the same buffs and get calculated as well.

this lag kills wvw and will destroy it if not fixed soon.

Anyone else got this weird lag after todays patch ?

i’ve noticed that when the new Bloodlust buff icon starts blinking on our players or enemy players (or both in worst cases) this weird lags hits…everything stop for few seconds and speeds up.

(note to mods thats a question and not a bug report – i will make a report when i get more information about it at its proper forum section)

How about those timers get increased to 30 minutes if not to 1 hour for the strongest bosses out there ?

Well imagine that you’re in low populated servers where the avenge numbers you have for any boss is +/- 10 player and have to kill the boss in 15 minutes or imagine that you’re in a low population server early in the morning or server not oriented to PvE where the avenge number of players you can find across all maps is 20 and you have to kill a boss where only 3 shows up in 15 minutes ?

  1. Now prioritizes Champs/Legendary, then players/clones, then everything else
  1. Deselecting your target now resets tab selection history (aka, you’ll start tabbing through from the beginning if you deselect)
  1. Can now tab target if your character can see the target (Was dependent on camera before)

Can you give us any information about WvW tab targeting ?

Will “tabbing” still prioritize WALLS (like we’re siege weapons not players) instead of the players on top/around of them as well as npc guards rather than walls ?

The same system that puts you back to your team and game after your game crash and when you log back.

I’m crashing sometimes and today i crashed at reset night which mean 3h+ queue for me = no wvw because when i’ll be able to log back it will be too late since i’m European you know.

So my question here is why the same system don’t exist in for WvW since i’m sure i’m not the only one get frustrated when crash and specially crash at reset night.

Well now, you may get 20+ posts from people who witnessed the same incident.
Let me guess – Ogrewatch, Piken assaulting, shortly after reset last night.

When the buff timer ended, the Lord simply refused to die, with the buff still up and no countdown showing. Lasted about a minute.

This one is from reset and i was there too but was shorter.

After that we got a longer version of same bug :< and not only at Ogre but almost everywhere.

Lately the Lord buff don’t go away after the timer finishes.

Tonight we have to wait like 2 minutes straight (yes i checked the clock) before we was able to deal any dmg.

Anyone else faced this crap and more important are Anet aware of this annoying stuff ?

doubt ANet will take the time to implement a 2-sided map

that sounds an awful lot like working in WvW content
they dont do that

also, the leagues have 9 servers in europe and 12 in US. if you make two 2-sided matchups, you are left with 5 and 8 servers respectively, how do you match them the last week?

There are still ranks within leagues 1-2-3-5-6-7 etc..

So the idea is to clash 1st and 2nd server at the last week in every league for the league winner spot

so 3 leagues = 3 winners or 2 leagues 2 winners (for US)

My idea is to have 3 separate leagues (or 2 for US) with 3 separate winners not “only 1 to rule them all”.

League winner decider last week should be a 2 server match not 3 server match.

This will require a special 2 server map.

The winner decider last week match-up should be on 2 server map where only the 2 server that clash for the winner spot can fight each other with no chance to get free farm on 3rd server for points.

All this should be made to avoid 3rd server be the one that gets farmed to death from the other 2 stronger servers. (there is always 1 underdog that gets farmed whole week)

Getting farmed in such a high steak match-ups will poison the game of 3rd server players and turn the 3rd server to real target to win the league which is wrong for me.

League winner should be decided with fighting not with farming the weak servers in match-ups.

The 3rd and 4th server can be put in a same 2 server map to clash for the 3rd spot as well.

I put together a fix for being rooted to the ground last week. This will probably make it into the game later this month. It also fixes things like blinking skills, persisting skills effects and animations, etc.

Hello Bill,great to hear that you managed to pull a fix for this and as someone who reported this on its early days (as a bug) i wanted to add another dimension of it happening lately.

Same thing started to happen (at least happened few times to me) when we try to ress a dead friendly but the difference is we got stuck and we ain’t ressing or moving (had to swap weapons to get moving again).

Got the feeling that it has something to do with how many players try to interact with the given object be it siege placement or dead body.

I hope this helps somehow to get into the roots of the problem.

Once In a Lifetime Finisher or Not?

Winners will have access to the finisher until there are new winners. At that point those people will gain access and the winners from the previous season will no longer have access to the stomp.

You should have said this at the beginning of everything since it turns out there is no reason to fight to be 1st at the leagues since nothing is permanent and basically nothing change.

Anyway i just want to ask Devon how he and his wvw team plan to manage the mass transferring to pre-decided winner servers already from this exact moment ?

EU WvW past bottom just started to become normal and stable number wise and you just killed whole thing again.

WvW is a game type that we believe very strongly in. We’ve seen that people have been organizing their own combat in WvW and that’s really cool, but WvW requires changes that are not always in step with the gameplay that has been emerging. Our focus is on making WvW as strong as it can be and we will continue to make changes with that in mind. We have been and will continue to discuss these open field battles, but in the meantime the changes we make to WvW will always have that game type first and foremost in mind.

Saw this on reddit, took me a moment to realize this changed too.

I’ve added few more on top of the one i posted on reddit and you saw :

They have changed the landscape around the lake quite alot.

There is something big in the middle of the lake as well as you can see on the last screen.

Basically those 5 new cap points are like 5 new supply camps for thieves and people who love small scale skirmishes around the map tho can’t say clearly what will be the impact and magnitude of this wvw buff for holding them.

Any change on the landscape adds more opportunity for new tactics/siege placement and strategies.

People shouldn’t cry about new stuff before playing it.

Helena Bonham Carter of Tyria !

I’m a big fan of Helena Bonham Carter since she gets to play all those sick and twisted characters in movies and i got a blast after i heard Scarlet talking.

Scarlet is like mix of all the chaotic and evil characters Helena played so far and i’m loving it.

This is a slight hiccup with new maps starting up; the new invasion will be starting very very soon, this should clean all that up

“very soon” yet no overflow map have any of the events.

The whole event got spoiled out already for me and everyone else who ended at overflow channels.

oh my god that’s depressing
it’s one thing to not have gvg like in gw1 here, but it’s really sad to see the original meaning turned into “25v25 mass chaos”

Have to agree. As someone who adored GW1 GvG, the guild wars 2 version is a blobby unstructured mess. Not the tense highly structured form of it’s predecessor. Unfortunately Guild Wars 2 has attracted the mass MMO market that has no idea of proper clinical and clean PvP which Guild Wars is.

This.

I rather see a more developed sPvP with interesting game modes than wasting resources on making a map for zergfesting.

I do support the idea that everyone should have its own place to have fun in games so i try to adapt to new things like “blobish fights” Guild Wars 2 offers.

And i think that GvG Arenas could be part of sPvP as a separate game mode within sPvP.
I think this will be better and save time since sPvP have the ladders and spectator mode and the necessary skill balances monitored.

The “zergfest fights” are all gw2 can offer in face of GvG for now so i’ll rather work on improving them instead of doing nothing and talking about the past

I’ve noticed that there is increase demand of gvg action at wvw currently but for large servers this may be a trouble in face of creating queue on maps where the guilds want to do the Guild vs Guild and spoil the fun for other players who want to do actual WvW creating unnecessary queue times.

I think its time Anet to step up and create a team that will work on Guild vs Guild Arenas with ladders/rewards and all the stuff required for a healthy and competitive Guild vs Guild action. (Its Guild Wars 2 right?)

So since living story teams like to drop stuff like latest Survival island type of action i think next one could contain a Guild vs Guild Arena (just to test it as early beta).

There is no need of creating a whole new map as well since Urban Battleground fractal map is more than capable to be used for any Guild vs Guild fight.
It have open fields as well as town with allies and buildings for more skirmish type of action.

I think Anet can give it a shot and let Guilds evaluate it.

I’m adding a map of Urban battleground fractal with both team’s staring area colored green and red as well as areas marked with blue as areas for fight.Orange marker mark gates that may or may not be removed or reworked as something else.

On top of all those Anet can add the spectator mode used in sPvP so everyone including rest of guild members who don’t participate in the GvG can watch the action and support their guilds.

ANET Fix Your Towers

Most reports that we have received were very vague and didn’t give much more information other than the actual objective, but with the help of my QA and what I saw we were able to get a better repro and submit a more detailed bug for further investigation.

Excuse me but i reported something similar a week ago but the topic got buried and didn’t even noticed by you guys while there is video showing what is happening actually and i’m sure will give you a lead on why is those things happening.

After one of the last patches (i guess was last hotfix) ranger pets are bugged or wvw walls – they literally walk like ghost ignoring walls and gates of wvw.

On top of that the distance between the ranger and the pet is bugged as well – Ranger pet traveled from SM top floor the Klovan sentry all the way from inner sm to outter and to sentry.

Anyway, I was on BB BL yesterday and FD seem to be a pretty big Guild. You never let us rest with your 50+ raid guild.

Anything else i should point you except the door ?

This said i enjoy fights with the rest of JS and BB guild and people which don’t cry like Sins and other band wagoners.

Since your previous statement indicates no knowledge of the server you are on, id suggest leaving the current topic in order to save yourself the further embarrassment .
I absolutely enjoyed every second of the “non-blobbing Piken” on Jade Sea border tonight , i mean not like you had 3 guilds under one tag or anything. God forbid you engage on anyone as individual guilds, that is so 2012.
Many , many respects to VII and HoB , and for the rest of you GJ at killing everything Piken was.

Piken is fine and can provide pretty good and quality battles for every taste if you know where to look for them.

And yes part of piken have changed in time like all server due to server hoppers and other reasons but still can provide good fights no need to cry while BB/JS blops are way bigger.

I dare to say that Piken is still one of the best EU servers when its about good fights and organized GvG action.

You’re QA right ? Than take the whole QA team to a tower/keep gate and start building RAMs a fast as possible and all focus to build same ram at same time. (you will be able to re-create the bug pretty fast this way)

This thing has something to do with the previously bugged siege that was poping up – “you cannot leave siege while in air” or something like this.I’m pointing this bcoz it started same time with this bug i mentioned up.

Is it possible to get provided with % information on every server population.

I don’t ask for exact numbers (since no company will ever provide those)

I merely ask for a tool to keep an eye on server demographics to study the effect of people transferring in time.

Will be really helpful as a data for WvW.
