we made 25 golems and reset VS BL t3 bay. also placed an opportunity for resetting VS garri as well. wth do you think is that about Broxigar?

Or when Vz reset our whole EB this morning too.

Just let them talk – obviously they need some kind of excuse for their own failure.

I think that SFR underestimated VZ a lot.

I think a good way to look at it is that there will generally be the same amount of PvE, but more PvE variety in objectives. Right now in WvW, when no enemies are present the content is the same Door killing and meat sack tower lord fight over and over. In Edge of the mists, the activity you do when no one is around will have variety. The nice part of this is that it also means the PvP activity you do at those locations will have variety.

Feel free to make 1 of the keep/castle lords have similar to Tequatl mechanics

I was thinking about this long time and my original idea was to make Stonemist Lord to be more challenging but ofc not in the same insane level as Tequatl but similar.

for vizunah it is the best to hit sfr hard and it is even better to help piken so sfr will be 3th in this matchup – so league much easier for vizunah + piken when the hardest oppenent start with a lose

both servers would be stupid not to help eachother – this dont need teaming its jsut tactic in a league to win the league^^

SFR is the only competition VZ have for the 1st place.

So if they manage to deny points from SFR than they will guarantee a bettar chance to win the 1st Season.

And on top of all this Piken is playing like always for the Fun and Fight/Kills so its working for VZ who play for the points.

Thats how i see it.

This is something that we are working on as part of the changes to the new map. I suspect it will be part of the testing process. It won’t be exact position/time if I had to guess but approximates. We will be updating some of how the queue works as well to make these approximates more accurate.

I would like to ask can you include the tPvP queue system where if your game crash for example when you log back game sends you back to your team and tPvP ?

Many people complained about in WvW and hitting the queue after the log back.

Since you have this reserved slot system from tPvP can you implement in on WvW as well ?

Structure Upgrades have to be re-worked ?

Now structures:
walls first made gates a choke points. Perfect to use ACs to defend.
But with actual cost of siege both normal of reinforced gates go down very very quickly. You can get reinforced gate down very quickly with 2 sup rams.
This is somehow perfect for a small team of 10 people, because they have actual chance to get keep.
But it is also making defending harder.

And i also want to add something i forgot on my previous post – RANK upgrades.

A small ninja team with RAM rank upgrade level 3 and 2 superior Rams can paper a reinforced gate in no time with smart playing.

Gates and Reinforced Gates was always weaker against Rams not to mention superior Rams and now they even have structural vulnerability and Iron hide while we defenders got nothing since forever.

I wish the devs who made the rank upgrades could come and put some light on why they introduced a Rank Upgrades and no Counter for them at structure upgrades.

  • Reinforced Doors must be really reinforced and should be stronger against “Man Mode” or Massive Player Groups auto-attacking the gate really fast due to extreme numbers of players (ZERG!) and be stronger against basic (non superior) siege as well.

Disagree – making doors stronger encourages zerging.

Blackgate have a team called a “Float Team” that has 50-100 players (blob/zerg) that float between borderlands to defend important objectives.

You are giving that zerg more time to respond to smaller, special ops guilds.

If you took that time away from them they would have to stay on one map or split up into smaller groups to defend. Splitting up the blob is a good thing.

The hardest place to zerg successfully in WvW is the ruins capture pads and that is due to the pads having no passive defences. People just backcap objectives after the zerg leaves the capture pad.

Stopping zerging is more about making it hard for the zerg to defend what they have already taken – not making it harder for them to take stuff. Face it – when 100 players show up at a keep door and you’ve only got 20 – you’re in trouble – having thick gates will only delay the inevitable. However, you could go and ninja Bay while the zerg is attacking Hills. If only the gates weren’t so strong at Bay – you’d have been able to take before the zerg got back to defend after they took Hills….

TL;DR – objectives with high defence = easy mode zerging.

And i disagree with your point as well.

WvW is a massive battlefield meant to be played by larger and smaller groups.

Anet already gave you the delayed timer and 25+ sword marker.

Now its time to give us – DEFENDERS something to work with.

We’re already discriminated by the fact that you get a reward poach from killing the Tower/Keep lord but we defenders don’t get anything for saving his kitten from the enemy.

Smaller groups in WvW are skirmishers that can work on supply camps and sentries.To take a bigger structure they need to use tactics and golems for example.

The other solution for this is GATES to scale up like Bosses depending on the people who attacks the structure but i doubt anyone will have time to make this.

I personally think that all structure upgrades in WvW have to be re-worked.

What i’m thinking is that some upgrades need their places changed and other upgrades need to be replaced with new upgrades that will be more helpful in WvW.

Here you can see structure upgrades for Stonemist Castle for Example.

Straight Forward:

  • Gate upgrade and wall upgrade need to change places – Gates have to be first and walls second. (gates are main attack point for non-upgraded and upgrade structures almost always first so they need to be first upgrade not second!)
  • Reinforced Doors must be really reinforced and should be stronger against “Man Mode” or Massive Player Groups auto-attacking the gate really fast due to extreme numbers of players (ZERG!) and be stronger against basic (non superior) siege as well.
  • Hire Patrol – must be re-worked (or even replaced with something new) since they have no impact at defense.Even smallest player group can kill patrols within seconds.They’re simply non-factor against massive player groups (ZERGS).
  • Hire Additional Guards – must be re-worked (or even replaced with something new).Only the Veteran Wizards deal descent damage and this upgrade has no impact for defense against any player groups not to mention have no impact against Massive Player Groups (ZERGS).
  • Raise Guard Level – must be re-worked (or even replaced with something new). Reason is same a previous 2 upgrades i mentioned.Have no impact in defense and zergs don’t care about NPC levels.

It’s been more than 1 year since Guild Wars 2 is LIVE and those upgrades are not in sync with current ZERG meta and don’t contribute to defending structures.

Not in favor of this at all. Well, not in this context at least.

The tool is usefull for evaluating individual events. I didn’t read Chris’s post to be about that, but about having discussions about the games design and direction on a much larger scale, something this tool should not be used for at all.

Also, the original post here (“Let’s see what community thinks since you said you care so much for our feedbacks – Let’s make things crystal clear once forever.”) kinda carries this vibe of “lets all vote on this to prove we’re right and Arenanet is wrong”. Maybe I’m just reading to much into that post, but that’s not a position to base a constructive discussion on. Game development by majority vote is a terrible idea.

Its not the majority vote its total votes.

And you didn’t only read Cris’s Post but many other where we was called Minority and not Majority so you’re way off topic.

I had a thought a while back- What if you could give ANet a report card for each of the features of a living world release? An in-game beta tool makes the game feel like… Well, a beta, and this is supposed to be a finished product.

Well Guild Wars 2 feels like beta all the time for me with all the bugs they introduce with every release.

They’re yet to publish their 1st bug free release…and it’s been more than 1 year now.

I didn’t mean the same BETA Tool but a similar Survey tool will provide tremendous amount of feedback data and this time they wont be able to make the excuses – Forums/Social Media don’t represents the vast majority but vocal minority.

I really wonder how a tool of this sort was/would be used. Think about it. It asked people who were new to the game, a game whose combat mechanics deviated from the MMO norm that those people were accustomed to, to judge content difficulty.

Good thing each account could be separated into “/Age” Parameter. Any good statistic analysis, would take in consideration deviations to it’s mean distribution. Also, the amount of new accounts to older accounts is imho way smaller to affect negatively the outcome!

On top of that new account owners wont be able to evaluate content they cannot participate (e.g. content that is higher their level) but evaluate only content for their level.

And they will evaluate stuff they are able to play and in time as they level up and get more familiar with the game will be able to evaluate more content.

Additional to that I don’t think that Anet is so poor Analyst wise to not be able to re-seed community in different groups and calculate the results this way.

I think that it’s time to put this BETA features back.

After reading Chris Whiteside’s Post where he stated that they read what community says and hear our feedbacks (while they called us – “vocal minority” of the community which feedbacks don’t represent the community in general) I’ve decided to offer Developers and the Company to put back the “Content Evaluation Tool” – CET which they used in betas and make the results Public this time ! (Let’s see what community thinks since you said you care so much for our feedbacks – Let’s make things crystal clear once forever.)

For those who wasn’t part of the betas – It was a survey tool that will appear after every content you finish and ask you to evaluate it.

I love this game and i care very much for it so lets put this and have a common ground.

Hello Bill,thank you for taking time to speak with us and working on this very important and “pain in the kitten ” for WvW community problem.

  1. My 1st question is : Can you be more specific of what “optimization” means and will it affect the skills as we know it by any negative way ?
  2. My Second question is : Wasn’t all these problems caused because you have to broadcast every single condition/buff to everyone which is currently pushing your systems and servers/internet to its limits ?
  3. My 3rd question is :If you ever have a solution to this are there any plans to lift the AoE Limit for both WvW/PvE/PvP because thats why this AoE limit exist in 1st place
  • Isn’t skill delay in big battles (WvW or PvE like Taco) a direct result of those?

Do you agree with current FREE transfer to Medium/Low Population Servers?

I don’t agree with how Anet is messing and dis-balancing small servers every time.

Low/Medium Population servers are pretty fragile eco-systems and every time you do a free transfer for them you’re screwing them up totally.

We barely settled up after your last strike….and now we’re facing this i dare to call “EXTINCTION LEVEL EVENT”

Its the weekend.

The fact that the thread is still open probably means they plan to respond to this.

It means that Anet/Mods don’t work at weekends.

This thread will be deleted directly or locked with answer – GvG is not something that is on our table…our table is too small and we all wear sun glasses and cant see in this dark room whats in our table in general.

All we need to do is start turning tables as comminuty.

  • 1. Roamers = Kill traders. (they don’t place any siege and don’t take any structure and don’t participate in siege warfare)
  • 2. Roaming small guilds = Kill traders (small guild like mine never take any structure – even supply camps and never place siege – we simply kill enemy small raids)
  • 3. Roaming Guild Raids = Kill traders (i’ve seen Guild raids with up to 25+ people roaming the maps without taking any structure or placing any siege – and only killing enemy zerg in open field – like gvgers)
  • 4. Roaming zergs that farm enemy zergs = MASS Kill traders. (i’ve seen a EB queue size zerg roaming whole day without taking any structure or placing any siege.When i asked what they do the answer was – we farm lootbgas since it’s faster and easier than PvE farm for gold.)

Non of those groups i’ve mentioned is playing WvW by the rules – Siege warfare so they’re all KILL TRADERS.

Your Griefers are nothing like the once we have at our server -

1.putting siege build sites on destroyed gates so we cannot repair since we cannot interact with the gate
2.putting siege build sites on mesmer portals just to making mesmers portals a useless feature for everyone.

Claiming keep & buffs - can we improve it?

Luna why is that a problem? Yes if the keep is attacked, buff is great help. But you hold that keep for 2 days now. You have the strength to defend it. Why any guild should put buff there if it is not needed?

Guild buffs should be aplied when needed. For example if my guild is doing Tower Defense we always apply every buff we can. But not for a keep, specialy on EB where you have WP right next to that keep and you can always take it back in a matter of minutes.

And other question. Who upgraded that tower? Who spend all that money? On my server is normal that if bigger wvw guild (aTs, TaG,Pwny,CC,Fire and many others) take keep they also are responsible for upgrades. And we actually care about those upgrades and we are upgrading it.

So you have fully upgraded keep with full supplies. You got it probably sieged. You hold near towers, SM is beiing flipped regulary. Why do You need that buff on that keep?

It’s a problem because i did upgraded and defended this Keep with my guild 24/7 while some1 else just claimed it right after our server took it.

They claimed it and left it like this – wooden with no upgrades,no defense or any siege and buffs.

Its not about this keep only its about every keep/tower/castle/supply camp in this game.

People like the guild who claimed the example i showed just claims the structures and leave it.While guilds like mine do the maintenance – upgrade/defense etc.. and thats is why there should be a CLAIM BUFF so they when the claim buff is over i can go and take the structure i put time,money and would like to improve and help myself and others who defend by applying other buffs and stuff.

There should be a counter to all the troll guilds once forever and punishment too.

Here is the reason why there should be a “claim buff” that has to be activated and have timer like other buffs in order to claim a structure in wvw.

If you check the attachment you can see that Overlook in my server is taken and hold for 2 days. (was hold for 2 days previously too but enemy managed to reset it at some point)

The guild that holds in claimed it didn’t apply a single buff since than and its fully upgraded and full of supply.

There should be a “claim buff” so when the buff timer finishes another guild can claim the keep on top of everything i said at on 1st post.

Are you staying in the area until you’ve read each and every book? If you log out, disconnect or otherwise leave the zone progress for the achievement will be reset.

I just did this, following Dulfy’s map, and the achievement worked for me. I’m not sure what to suggest. Did you try reading them (clicking through all the pages)?

This is an “all or nothing” achievement. You will not get any % for reading a single book.

Also make sure you are reading them all within one day.

Different buff to stop griefing and trolling that is happening currently by claiming stuff with no buff and purpose just to deny rest of the world to do and show off.

I agree on rest of the +3 and +5 buff idea on top of claim buff.

I’ve noticed that structure claiming have 1 major flow – People claiming Tower/Keeps without adding any guild/wvw buff like +5 supply and deny this opportunity to other more wvw oriented guilds.

I run a small guild myself but i’m almost always able to deploy most (if not all) necessary and useful guild buffs IF i wasn’t denied this opportunity by other guilds who claim structures just to show their guild banner or their name at http://mos.millenium.org without adding even the +5 which is the most popular guild buff added to structures.

So my idea here is to re-work the guild buff related to WvW by :

  • Add claim buff (a buff that is required to be activated so the given guild be able to claim anything at all in wvw)
  • At least few buffs active to be able to claim a structure be it a Supply camp. (this will help wvw oriented guilds and Supply camp defenders as well)
  • Guild names shown by interacting with Keep/Tower and supply camp lords. (so guild who still want to show off can do it but this time contributing to wvw by adding buffs.)
