Maybe they should make the wait time a bit longer or let people choose. I think someone mentioned this is because people want low wait time and not wait forever to play a tournament match. If they are randoms and there are lots of ele the game will just take them making the wait time short instead of waiting longer to make more balanced teams.
Just had one match against 4 mesmer 1 guardian. Lol. Also the necro with lots of pets are annoying. I think they can have 6 pets max(someone said they can have 6 don’t know I never played necro). Imagine team full with 5 necro and each one 6 pets + 1 rock dock. Would mean 5 vs 40 lol(if other team no pet classes).
Show the star on the small pic where already the level is shown in the bar at the bottom – there should be room in one of the other corners.
Also show the title in the info with guild, server, location, … that displays if you select a char.

He was guardian and said “I go temple 1 come with me and def. Stop running around.”
We were running around… but capturing other stuff and we were winning 400 to 250 it was and he said again we should go to def with him or he would go afk then he said “ok afk” and went afk…
There really should be more options to report not only botting, name and stuff. He obviously did not like that we did not do what he wanted and still won(but made it a bit harder for us at the end). And then saying “please win for me” and with 45 points on the score list at the bottom.
Then better no communication lol. That guy probably would have ignored all the buffs letting others get tranquility AND stillness.
And now look at the glory ranks…
This is not only because of the communication. Experienced players look at the mini map and know where to go.
But I don’t think rank 1 or 3 are experienced.
I have about 50 percent wins and 50 percent loses and there is never communication and I also have seen wins with 500 to 1xx with no communication sometimes even if glory ranks(hopefully they get that new rating somehow into numbers and display it somewhere in game in the future) were lower on the own team… a bit higher at 10+ I think it is possible.
But rank 1 or 3… they are new they might not even know the map that well and just play tournament because they want more reward(the chest you can get).
Rock dogs should be removed completely. Maybe a cap on max 3 pets – 3 really is enough don’t need that enemy teams with 2-3 necro and each 5 or 6 pets.
Rallying should be removed completely(not downed only rallying on kills) or if they don’t remove it it should be possible to rally from every pet that does not appear after some time(for example the elementals of ele you should not be able to rally).
Also it should be possible to knock pets off edges.
Q: How is rank determined? Is it by wins? Win %?
A: Rating is used. This rating takes into account your rating, your opponent’s rating, and then adjusts your post-game rating accordingly. If you win against a very low ranked opponent, and you are a highly ranked opponent, you will gain fewer points than if you defeated someone above you in rating. It is possible for a player to have a higher rating even if they haven’t played as many games as another player – # of games does not guarantee a high rating.
If the system is working then if you are leaving because you getting pwned big it should be because you are fighting against people with a much higher rating. Then loss would not hurt that much.
I understand religion is a sensitive subject for many and being an atheist i don’t care much for it at all. Throughout the game I have noticed dialogue that catered for or against religion within the game realm and i was wondering why it is needed in video games? for example the tournament master would say “I pray to the spirits of the wild…but they hardly answer” there would be other dialogue similar to this throughout the game but i was just curious as to why this is necessary in games .
Because it is an MMORPG? RPG = role playing game. The NPCs are only playing their role. Or would you prefer mobs, NPCs and all the other stuff to be just numbers and no background story, … would make the game boring.
Remove eles completely. Problem solved. Also remove all the other classes.

I don’t think they were meant to be sold. Someone should work for them… and not only farm money but also get for example the skill points for that one item you need to buy for 200 skill points.
If it is possible to sell them it means making skill points to money since they are calculated within the price. Making karma to money is not okay but making skill points into money is okay?
Agreed. We need to figure out how we want to handle this, however, so I can’t say when we’ll do something about it or what the nature of the solution will be.
I have a suggestion on this. I know it could be troublesome if you have not enough inventory space and all the crap loot gets automatically looted to your intentory.
What about bag items like in the PvE world?
Make different bags for the different types of loots that can drop for example one PvE mob bag and one enemy invader bag and let us autoloot that stuff.
Would only take as much slots as there are types of bags and you could open them later… of course if you get more than 250 bags of one type it could be a problem again but that should not happen that often and fast.
Usually in chat I don’t use capitalization but in forums I do. I always try to use periods. Makes it more readable. I often use more than you have to use. In english and in my native language as well.
I remember someone said to me “you talk like a skritt” lol.
What I don’t like is people using emoticons all the time. Makes them sound like a 12 years old girl especially if there are some every few words.
And I don’t say stuff like “hi”(in open chat in groups of course if the others start I reply with a hi). Usually I don’t need useless stuff with no information. I also just go and help in open world if someone needs help and then run away without saying anything even if he said “thanks”. Too lazy to type.
I also want more new PvE titles. All the jumping puzzles means a lot and it should be rewarded.
Also finishing all the weapon master and all the slayer achievements each should have an own title.
Thirst slayer… yeah could be nice. I hope no one is just doing it for the title now since you already can see there is not a title (yet).
I know about the bomb kit. I like it and use it often. Also there is there is the other toolkit with the pry bar and stuff.
But for the looks I would prefer a “real” weapon. At least a 1 handed hammer. (And I want for other classes like warriorrs 2h-axes!)
Hammer would fit the engineer class to hammer some nails and stuff and if there are enemies they just it against them.
For me to like the PvP I need to like the combat system and the game modes. I really like Savage 2 and I still play it even though it is almost dead(only about 100 players max online at good times and there are a few more playing still Savage 1 but not that much).
Game mode there was only one: Destroy the enemy main building. You could build forward outposts and towers and technology buildings to unlock other units(classes). 2 teams usually around 16 people fighting. Each team 1 commander that has an rts view and places buildings. Others playing 3rd person(or 1st person if using ranged weapons but ranged weapons are weak, game is melee oriented).
Strategy and communication very important.
Combat melee with attacking and blocking… easy combat system not that complicated than for example Mount & Blade where you have to aim a lot. You can go healer or builder if you want to heal or repair buildings(and the builders get extra damage to buildings if attacking).
Client was a bit unstable and sometimes buggy and crashes. And maybe the people did not like the game idea.
Company decided to make HoN afterwards to make more money because games like that are more popular.
MMORPGs usually I don’t like the combat. Also did not like TERA which advertised as “true action combat” or something like that and I thought I also would not like Guild Wars 2 but somehow I like it. Not bad for an MMORPG with the bit dodging and blocking and stuff like knockback and stability.
Game mode… yeah the 3 points capturing is getting a bit boring but that Spirit Watch map with the orbs and the Temple of the Silent Storm are interesting(if team plays well and you know the timer of the buffs and where to go – just won with 4 vs 5 in tournament glory rank was about same only that the other team had 1 rank 20 more).
With interesting game modes even I can have fun – since I’m not that good of a fighter. If strategy is possible instead of only killing each other or standing at the points it is getting interesting.
2 times it happened that I’v been in a tournament(played 20-40 tournaments the last 2-3 days) with a group with people from different guilds… don’t know if the other 4 formed a group and then joind and I as fifth player was random.
But I’m pretty sure the other team was premade since they all have been from one guild. And we won 500 to 49x was very close both times.
Temple of the Silent Storm the Tranquility and Stillness saved us(some nice fights at the end for the last stillness that we won wen both were around 450 points).
Getting pwned big seems rare for me. Of course I experienced a lot matches where the others won 500 and we only around 350 but still good fights and better than only getting 50 or 150… that is rare(people afk or 3/4 vs. 5 it happens or maybe if you fight some uber guild but that didn’t happen… last time I remember when there still were 3 round tournaments then maybe last round if you manage with randoms then you fight some uber guild).
Edit: tl;dr: For 1 match tournaments I think it is fine as it is. Should 3 matches tournaments be back maybe they should seperate.
I want to rally from killing pets. Please implement it ArenaNet.
Need rankings per map. Some maps are different – could even be totally different game modes. Maybe some people are better at some maps.
Only 50 percent range if no target with line of sight. Atm they are running around like crazy and are unstoppable if it is about capping stuff especially if they also use stabilty(I think from that earth armor skill which luckily has some higher cd).
Hotjoin and tournament it should be possible to only play 1 map. Hotjoin needs mapped servers for the different maps that stay always at the same map(in addition to some other servers that still stay with rotation).
Tournament(at least that 1 map tournament which is not a real tournament) you should just be able to choose the map even if it means a bit longer wait time because not everyone wants the same map and might need some time before there are others that want to play your map.
Why are there even arrowas and other stuff like upcoming, ongoing, … when you just play 1 map that is fixed every few days?
Bigger maps. Then 8 vs. 8 would be fun. Sometimes even 5 vs. 5 the maps feel to small(depends on the map but the map with the orb it feels small if suddenly both full teams all players are back at the orb again).
For those who don’t like being part of the “zerg”, have you even tried to get a small group to go hunting with you?
Then you go in a small group and cap something and still later it gets capped back. Then I can just play sPvP and have wins and have fun if I want the small groups.
Mapping requirements are something else entirely. If I see you solo-running about in some garbage armor, and you start scrambling for that nearest POI or Vista when you see me near.
I remember months ago when I made my first char… now that was a bit fun about the WvW maps to go in Borderlands to the north mid vista near some supply camp(enemy is north and not your home borderlands) because I needed that vista. Then killed some enemies because only 1 came maybe they also needed the vista.
But only killing is boring. And capping is not that interesting since it is easy to capture it back. Maybe if stuff was way stronger it would be more interesting(currently usually in my server at the end of a match only the keep near the own spawn is upgraded fully with 1700/1700 supplies and nothing happening there and all the other stuff is being capped and then capped back by enemy back and forth… that is not interesting to me).
Edit: Also there is no incentive to defend stuff for a long time. You can just leave it for the enemy to cap and try to be faster – if you cap 2 other things of the same type you get more points.
Maybe they should make it that every position increases it’s points if you defend it for a long time.
For example stone mist if you capture it at day 1 and manage to defend it completely until the end of the match it should give 10 times the points as usual at the last day. If someone captures it after few days it should reset and only give the usual points(35 I think it is).

Sure. Would be nice. At the moment I’m trying to store the first one in the locker. Second one I’m salvaging… but what If I start to play other classes?
Then I’ll have some different weapons to use and different armor and I can use stuff from the locker and that slot is empty and I would need to get a 2nd item of the same type again. Would be nice to be able to store a bit more in advance.
Leaderboards might be a problem. We’ll need to see. I agree that a working rating system is important.
Also I agree about down state and rallying. I like down state and that you can make decisions on if you should help to rezz or just distract enemy and let him bandage.
Also helping to kill 1 enemy and let our ally rally sounds nice… but since there is no limit(always should be limited to 1 person that did the most damage in sPvP and WvW – and if he is alive then no one else should be able to rally) it could be a problem.
This is a PvE mechanic they carelessly implemented in sPvP and WvW too. Down state is nice. But not the rallying. Rallying is PvE and is nice there but does nit fit in a PvP environment. They could remove it completely(but not remove down state, I’m not whining about down state).
It does not even make sense to just be on your feet again from having killed an enemy(even if still others are around)… in PvE it is just nice because it makes stuff easier and since you are just playing against the mobs it is okay.
Edit: Also I agree. Custom servers are needed. Map and rank restriction and stuff and the rank of players should be shown at the beginning of a match not at the end only. And maybe custom tournaments(not that map rotation they dictate every few days only 1-match-tournaments for the next few days on same map… that’s not a tournament).

Well maybe I do “suck” at this game, But i’m not a hardcore gamer, I play maybe 2 – 3 hours a week if i’m lucky.
I don’t believe all areas of the game are solo-able. if this is the case please tell me how I can defeat a mob of 9 (and a veteran) standing around the Lyssa Statue as a single player.
Use AoE and try to stay alive as long as possible… until the 9 other mobs are dead. Then focus on the veteran and maybe use crowd control skills.
I’m also a noob… never played any other MMORPGs to max level cause they got boring very fast. Guild Wars 2 with it’s fast leveling is the first MMORPG where I got one max level char(and others are following) and full world completion.
I had problems in the beginning with my engineer in Orr… always used that rifle and it took too long. Did not want to use kits and I always read about grenades and did not want them because of ground targeting… too much trouble to aim every time and click.
Tried a bit around and bombs are nice for me. Now I’m killing faster… I’d bomb that 9 mobs then switch to rifle and knockback and net shot the veteran almost leaving him every option to do damave to me(only can range me if he has ranged attacks but knockback shot or Big old Bomb will stop him often). Don’t know how other classes are doing it but every class has their skills and different ways to do stuff.
Maybe ask in your class forums and tell what traits and skills you are using and how you are playing and they can help?
My incentive, is simply fun. Must we have a material incentive o.0?
That’s why I rarely play WvW: Because it is not fun.
When I first heard about Guild Wars 2 I thought WvW would be the most fun part of it since I played Warhammer and liked the RvR there. But somehow Guild Wars 2 is boring… Server vs Server but all are the same… not that interesting thant race vs. race everyone with their different backgrounds would be. The whole mist stuff and fighting there… boring.
You run with the zerg cap some stuff get some points and log out. Does not feel like fun.
sPvP is a bit better there. At least you get in less than 15 minutes results and a win and it feels more intense. You helped to win and it feels good. You don’t get that feeling in WvW with the matches being long and the points ticking slowly while you only play a few hours and not 24/7 the whole week.
It don’t feels like you have accomplished something if you are one of the 50+ people in your zerg capping 1 keep that gets capped back later when you are offline and is not that important.
What I prefered would be something between sPvP and WvW. Something like bigger sPvP maps with other game modi and like 16 vs 16 players and own objectives that could include WvW stuff(there is already that crappy boring sPvP map with the Trebuchet siege). That could also be interesting for bigger guilds to fight there against each other.

Story mode dungeon would be nice if it was possible to solo it with some npcs helping since all the other personal story stuff is soloable.
But other than that I would not want to see henchmen or heroes. Game is not designed for that. Most of the enemies are already easy to kill and you level fast.
Maybe Guild Wars 1 was different… I don’t know, never played it that much but I don’t think open world in Guild Wars 2 needs stuff like that.
Is it possible to get an option to hide them? In particular I’m talking about http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/PvP_Toymaker%27s_Bag
Getting a bit boring after some time and in PvE I already decided to hide that book from halloween. Don’t want to remove the Toymaker’s Bag because then it takes inventory space and there is no option to hide it.
Falling damage is fun. If you want you can use traits to redude it. If not then just be more careful. Would ruin a lot of fun especially with jumping puzzles where you can die.
Interface still will be minimal if they only give let’s say 5 slots. Maybe even some “belt” item you can equip and you need to buy or craft in 1-5 slot qualities with 5 slot expensive and giving these 5 slots as additional inventory too and if you place something there you get it in the interface as bar to use it.
We need this. Just bought my endless cat tonic. Don’t want to open the inventory every time to use it. Also there are other drinks and food in game that are used often. At least a few more free slots you can drag that stuff to should be available in the skill bar.
I just bought the endless cat tonic for 100 laurels and I like the house cat transformation. There is another thread where someone complained that the transformations are random.
I think some of the other endless tonics in the game are also random.
Since it is endless and you can just spam try until you get the transformation you want why not remove the randomness ant let us choose it directly?
Maybe some way to “attune” the tonics could be implemented.
Also for endless cat tonic someone suggested to increase the time. I think it is 5 minutes only and 15 minutes would be better. And someone else wanted more cat transformations(frome “cat rooms” no cat skin is included in the cat tonic).
Please support this thread… saw a few other threads about endless cat tonic only with only 1 post and I think we need 1 strong thread for all the endless tonics out there.
Hopefully as time goes one a few more people will buy an endless cat tonic and post here in the suggestions forums.
Reading chat is boring. Especially if 90 percent of the text there are people calling others noobs.
Edit: Voice commands would be nice. Know voice commands from another game where they help a lot. Also you don’t neet to type that much.
Leaving should count as loss and maybe a few “free deaths”.
Why are there other games like LoL where you play in teams of 5 people that have ranking not per team but per player? Does not every player there have some ranking?
Yeah I remember the Karka Shell. That was the first time when I heard about “unique” because some people got 2 or more of them and there were threads about it in the forums. Until then I always thought “unique” had a different meaning.
When I got my Karka Shell I first thought it means that you only can get 1… but then when I read the thread I saw it meant something different(only EQUIP 1).
If it at least meant every char(or even account!) can only have 1 in the inventory or equipped then he couldn’t buy 2 or more in the first place.
Is it possible to give that stuff to another char? Or is it soulbound? I mean laurals are per account so that 2nd ring should worst case be account bound if you have not equipped it because not possible.
Edit: And yeah… unique is a bad term. In my understanding I think of a item that exists only 1 time in the whole game world. And since everyone can buy that stuff at the vendor they are not unique. Also it is not a rarity since rarity of the item is ascended.

Siege blueprints for karma.
How do you want to rank players that don’t like to play duels and want to play the other game modes because they think they are more fun? Are they just without rank then? How will the matches with radom players get balanced then?
I think it is okay to make a rating from one’s performance in a team match but you need a good formula.
Another game I played has something called “skill factor” which is just the experience per minute but somehow they managed it that very often the matches seem balanced if both teams have about the same average “skill factor”(or short: SF).
Here in Guild Wars 2 it could just be how many glory per minute or second or hour or whatever you made(but then boosters would need to be removed).
Question is only what the different actions should be worth. Capping points vs. killing. Someone rushing over the map insanely fast and killing every enemy of course is worth a lot because he kills really fast. But average players that only focus on kills should not be able to get a high ranking without also trying to capture points(and hold them.. maybe kills near a point you defend should count more because they help defending).
Don’t know how they are calculating the rank at the moment but would be interesting to know. They probably have some sort of system that takes other important stuff into account and don’t want players to play only with that in mind.
Khylo is the worst map. Boring. It really should be possible to choose the map you want to play… but I guess there are not enough players playing sPvP so if the players got divided between maps it would take longer to get running tournament matches?
Or is there any other reason?
Make it possible to play only the maps you want. In single match tournaments and in the non-tournament hotjoin matches.
I agree that for real tournaments people should be able to play all the maps – and that’s why there need to be tournaments with more then 1 match again and then random maps chosen.
Just remove the rotation and give the people the option to chose the maps they want to play in tournament.
Edit: And I agree about the engineer and this map. Only played engineer in sPvP so far and I’m a noob and in the few random non-tournament matches I played all the people zerged at the spawn location of the orb and only 1 time the enemy got it and I got it 2 times but I did not use other stuff mentioned her. Just used my rifle and the jump shot and knockback shot to get a bit speed which helped especially if 1 other team member was nearby to help a bit lol. Fun to use the rifle 4 to knockback yourself the last few inches needed.

Why is it not possible to only ply 1 map? I know we have the tournaments all have the same map but the other matches are always rotating maps.
I think some maps could really be made into different game modes for example that one where you have to capture points and then bring some orb to the point like in a capture the flag game mode. They could make it that your team only gains points from orbs.
And then it should be possible to only play this map… not always join and play that map at an already running match and then few minutes later you have to leave and look for another running match because the one you joined is rotating maps(which is okay too but there should be other servers that always have the same map for people that like some maps and only want to play them).
That stuff is from Guild Wars 2 that is okay. But I’m not interested if someone played Guild Wars 1 or other games… don’t need that info in Guild Wars 2.
But the Shiverpeaks explorer got increased. I think it was at 172 at release and people that got the 172 areas discovered and have not played until now would have 172/175 with 3 new areas(I think 1 jumping puzzle 1 mini dungeon and the Cragstead area).
Thanks for the info. Did a lot of jumping puzzles that I hadn’t done up until now and next I wanted to check for new areas and I missed this one too.
They should move the instance marker a bit more to the door and maybe make the area a bit bigger to cover a bit in front of the door.
It should not be possible to join the instance without discovering the area.
Can anyone confirm that this is a bugged area not counting towars the achievement? I’m at 173/175 and I know one is a mini dungeon that has been added that I haven’t done yet in Dredgehaunt Cliffs(Forsaken Halls).
But can’t find any other parts not yet uncovered on my Shiverpeaks maps so it might be Cragstead because I already have been there and if it is really bugged it might be the area I’m missing.
Any other areas that have been added besides that mini dungeon and the Cragstead instance?

Trying things mentioned there now. Apparently joining the instance won’t get you to discover the area but you need to discover it from outside. They are talking about going near that door very close and other stuff.
Edit2: Yeah, that worked. They should move the instance marker a bit more to the door and maybe the region a little bit bigger to cover an area in front of the door so you can’t join the instance without disconvering the area.

Seems the explorer achievements are a bit bugged. I checked because I was a bit lower than max value at some of the others because it seems there were a few areas added.
Then I found that also Vexa’s Lab has been added which is in Fireheart Rise in Ascalon.
Don’t have this discovered yet but I am at the max 176/176. Shouldn’t I be 1 less than the max value there?
I don’t have a legendary yet. But I think they should be account bound. Would be nice to be able to get all 8 classes to level 80 and then all the legendaries and always use them with the char you are playing.
If you have 2 classes that could use 1 weapon then you will have to make them twice… that is a bit too much. Also nobody will legendaries of weapon types that are not used that often.
If it they were account bound everybody could just have a longterm goal: Get legendaries of every weapon type. And maybe an achievement there and at the login screen show the weapons instead of that treasure chest.
I’m working towards this too. The gear is not that interesting to me and I already have some other mini pets but had no luck with endless tonics the last events.
That’s why I started to farm for the endless cat tonic. Saw a video. Some nice transformations there.
I think – since it is endless and you can have every transformation – it should not be random. Maybe random by default but it should somehow be possible to “attune” the tonic to a specific transformation… and if its only with a chat command… it would be nice to have such an option.
I mean 100 laurels… lots of playing for days and months. It should be a little bit better than only random with lots of “big” cats. I only had the smaller cats in mind like the cubs or the house cat. I don’t want big tigers.
Finished it when I wrote that post. Maybe 1 minute ago(time needed to Alt+Tab out and write). Now it is up again already. And not even 15 minutes since then… too often… for a champ that takes too long to kill. Making the waypoint contested… definitely needs to be reworked.
Edit. Oh wait… I ran there to see it is not the giant. Thougth it was always the giant. Seems seperatists this time. Maybe giant soon then. I know it is still very often.
